Victory and Defeat

Seirin has won the Winter Cup but Kagami has lost his unrequited love, Kuroko Tetsuki, to Akashi as the Kinseki no Sendai captain returns to his former self during their match in the final of the Winter Cup.

Hi! This is my first fanfic so I'm not sure if it's any good! Akashi x fem!Kuroko with one-sided Kagami x fem!Kuroko. Set during Seirin's win at the Winter Cup. Rated T just in case. Nothing too intimate thought, just some romance and violence might happen if I continue it.

The final buzzer went off as the seconds turned to zero. The match's final scores shone on the board.

106-105...SEIRIN WINS!

Thunderous cheers erupted from the crowd and players. Kagami Taiga in the centre of it all after his decisive dunk.

Kuroko Tetsuki, the manager of the Seirin's boys basketball team and former co-manager of Teiko Middle's Kiseki no Sendai and also known as their phantom sixth player, allowed happiness and shock to be shown in her normally emotionless face.

After.

The Seirin team heads to celebrate their win with a feast. Kuroko silently followed them. Her pale blue eyes were warm as she suddenly appeared beside her light.

Kagami and the rest of Seirin's basketball team member leapt in shock at her sudden appearance.

"H-how did you?..." They stuttered the usual question.

"I was here from the start." , came the normal monotoned response. The only difference is the soft smile she wore and the amusement dancing in her pale eyes.

S-so kawaii! They thought simultaneously. Shaking their heads vigorously they stared at her once more, only to be met with her normal emotionless stare. Sighing they turned back to their meal.

Tetsuki turned to her light, Kagami Taiga. This time her eyes were filled with gratitude, her lips curved into a smile.

"Thank you.", she whispered to him, a hidden message unspoken yet clear weaved into her words. Kagami didn't need to ask what she meant. He only nodded and gave her a flash of his wide smile. He patted her softly on the back, ignoring the ache in his chest, before resuming his meal.

- Flashback -

The buzzer went off and as the crowd cheered Tetsuki walked towards the members of Rakuzen High. She walked in the shadow of the hall, searching for a certain red-headed captain. When she found him, his mind was still in a slight daze at the loss and although he ed, tears were mixed with his sweat.

"Akashi.", she quietly called out.

He stopped and turned to her, a warm and welcoming smile on his face. He approached her, signalling to his teammates to go on ahead. Defeated or not, he is to be obeyed afterall.

To his surprise she hugged him tightly as soon as he was within reach.

"Okaeri, Seijirou."

"Tadaima, Testuki."

He embraced her back while muttering those two words. Tears of frustration flowed from his face as he buried his face in the crook of her neck. His arms wrapped tightly around her just as hers was around him.

From her view she briefly glanced up, her eyes meeting a certain tiger's. The tiger who made it possible for her beloved's return. Blue eyes meets red ones for a brief and yet long moment. A silent message passed between the two before one returns to the embrace of her newly returned beloved and the other turns to hide the tears silently trailing his cheeks.

Buzz~

Her phone vibrates and a ghost of a smile graced her face, for just the shortest of moments. Calmly excusing herself she steps out from the venue to answer the call from her former captain.

"Seijirou.", she starts, her voice still levelled and monotoned but her eyes glowed faintly with warmth.

Inside Kagami watches her, out of characterly quiet. Pain flashes his eyes and a bitter smile on his lips.

'So this is what they call winning the battle but losing the war huh?'

He had won against all of the Kiseki no Sendai. But he had lost the one he had loved to them, or more precisely him.

'But..' He thought as he saw happiness quietly radiating off of her.

'I don't regret a single thing.', he shrugged, now day dreaming while his teammates chat and bicker noisily with each other.

Quietly, he began to reminisce those days when they first met, and the day he fell in love with her quiet and yet determined character, as well as the passion and determination his shadow felt about the sport they both loved.

So there you have it. How is it? I know they're a little bit OOC but I hope you still enjoyed it. There might be other future pairings but I'm still not sure yet since it'll mainly be a protective GoM, Kagami and AkaKuro. It's mainly just fluff though.
