Camellia
Summary: The future will never be the same and the story will change one way or another. After all, there is no Tsunayoshi and this isn't his story anymore. SI-OC. FemTsuna.

Just a warning: FemTsuna, SI-OC, SI!FemTsuna, AU
Just so you know: The name Tsubaki means 'Camellia'. The meaning of the flower depends of the color. Pink symbolizes 'heartfelt longing' and is the perfect flower for long distance lovers. Red is like... When in passionate Love, adding a Red Camellia to your bouquet can mean only one thing to the intended recipient: that he or she is the very life of the fire in your heart. I like this one... Now, White Camellia, from what I know, is a way to say 'You're simply adorable'.
Target 1. The Reborn Camellia
Tsubaki
It would be impossible for Tsubaki to say that in her past life, she died without any form of regret. If she did say that, then she would be lying and frankly, Tsubaki couldn't lie to save her life. She was a master at twisting half-truths and confusing people so they would stop making questions. But a good liar she was not.
In her past life, her name had been Elise Alanna Turner...
A young woman who died at twenty four years old because she saved her mother's life from a crazy and bitter aunt who shouldn't have been allowed to own guns. She still could remember her mother crying for her, telling her to fight for her life. But she hadn't even tried to fight. That time, when she found herself bleeding on the ground, she felt like she could finally be free... She felt that she didn't need to worry about being the perfect daughter anymore.
No more Princess Elise to her, no more Doll Elise, no more Angel Elise...
She could have a chance to be herself.
Even if it was only in the afterlife...
As Elise, she had been a prodigy. A very smart little girl with photographic memory, pale skin, long blonde hair and gray eyes. A little girl whose parents were important members of the society and refused to accept anything but perfection from her. Almost her whole family had been like that. Only her grandfather had been different... And maybe her crazy Aunt too, but the woman didn't count.
Her grandfather was the only one who gave her the opportunity to be only Elise and nothing else. He had been an old and stern Japanese man. Cold and distant to most people, but to her, he had been her refuge and safe-heaven. He had taught so many things to her...
How to speak Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Taught her about different type of Tea Ceremony and how to make your own tea... Taught her about discipline and how to be lady or how to use kimono (which she loved). Taught her about calligraphy... How to paint, how to dance, how to fight and so much more...
She loved her time with her grandfather. Especially when he introduced her to the joy that was manga.
Which had been their little secret. After all, her parents would have made a tantrum if they found out about it.
The two of them would sit for hours in his garden talking about their favorite works. Her grandfather personal favorite was Samurai X, her personal favorite on other hand, had been and will always be Katekyo Hitman Reborn. She loved the characters, the storyline and how Amano Akira's art started to get better along the time.
Her heart broke when her grandfather died. And without her safe-heaven, all she could do was continue to be her parents' puppet and wait for the day that the strings would be cut and she would be free. Though she always tried to find time to read her manga or practice her tea making skill or calligraphy.
The day she died, was the day all her family had been reunited to hear the reading of her grandfather's will.
And wasn't she surprised when her grandfather's lawyer and old friend said that she had received all of his most important and precious possessions?
Actually, no...
No, she hadn't been surprised.
Not at all.
Her family on other hand...
They started to scream at each other, mostly at her. And her mother, who just couldn't keep her mouth shut, decided to say something like how her daughter was better than any of them and that even her grandfather had known that. She didn't know what more her mother said, for she wasn't paying attention, but her crazy Aunt Karen, snapped at some point and the next thing she knew, the woman was pointing a gun in her mother direction and all she could do was to try and protect her mother.
The woman hadn't been the best mother of the world...
But she was her mother and she hadn't wanted to see her hurt or dead.
She died because of blood loss, even before the medics had arrived.
She died full of regrets. She could have done so much in her life, she could have gone to Julliard like she always dreamed, and she could have gone in a journey around the world... There was so much that she could have done.
But in a way, she died happily.
Her strings had been cut after all.
But... If she wasn't wrong... She hadn't stayed dead for long.
Although, is not like Tsubaki could ask someone about it. All she knew was that one moment everything stopped to hurt and she blacked out. The next moment, when she woke up, she was a baby. A brown haired woman was holding her and her name had been changed to Tsubaki (She had been really happy to know she was now a full-blooded Japanese and not only 1/4 and that her name was hers and her grandfather favorite flower).
For two weeks, she lived happily knowing that she had a new life and a new chance to do what she wanted with her life. And it took those two weeks for her to recognize her last name and who were her parents. Tsubaki blamed her slowness at recognizing them on the fact that her subconscious must have prevented her brain from processing the information correctly.
Her name could have been the name of any other child...
It was Sawada Tsubaki.
But her parents... Her parents were Sawada Nana and Sawada Iemitsu.
Her parents were characters from Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
They weren't meant to exist.
They weren't meant to have a daughter.
But they were real (She tested by grabbing Iemitsu's hair with all the strength her baby's body could gather) and she was their daughter. Sawada Tsunayoshi, who was meant to be the main character of the series, didn't exist and she did. What about the plotline? Would she still be destined to be the Vongola Decimo… Er… Decima?
Tsubaki thought about it for a while and came to the conclusion that the plotline wasn't all that important. Not when her presence already made changes on it.
This was her story now.
And all she had to do was to make the right choices and hope that she will survive. Because she doubted that it was easy being a girl in the Mafia World.
00
Nothing really happened after her birth aside from the fact that Iemitsu was an idiot who thought she was a cute naive little kid and the fact that he told Nana to lie to her and tell her that he had been turned into a star. Didn't he known that this meant he was dead? For some reason, Tsubaki doubted it.
Of course, Nana wasn't surprised when she answered; "It's alright, Mama. I know he has gone away to work in another country."
It wasn't normal for a one and a half years old baby to talk like that, but Nana had already came to the conclusion that Tsubaki was a prodigious child and the reincarnated child took advantage of it. How the woman accepted her child being so intelligent just like that, was a mystery to Tsubaki. But, since she didn't want to think about it, she classified the subject in her mind as 'Things that only happen in Manga/Anime'.
There was nothing logical about the fantastic world of Manga/Anime, after all. And frankly, that is why she loves it so much.
Her father came back home to her third birthday, but Tsubaki didn't even lose her time talking to him. He didn't know she could talk and after the way he reacted at seeing her walk, it was - as Albus Dumbledore would say - for the greater good - and for the sake of her sanity (she liked her sanity, thank you very much) - that Tsubaki kept her mouth shut.
Her father didn't stay for long.
Nor did he came back... (Well... Not that she saw him...)
So... Moral of the story... Sawada Iemitsu was one of the worst father in the world.
The end.
But seriously... What type of father did that and had the courage and audacity of sending postcards with the phrase "Wish you were here"? Tsubaki didn't care that he did it to "protect" his family from the Mafia. She was sure he could have found a way to stay in Japan for a longer period of time. It couldn't be so difficult. From what she had seen in the manga, Nono was a family man type of a guy so he wouldn't even blink if Iemitsu chose to stay with his family a little.
Actually, to prove that Iemitsu was a bad father, Tsubaki was sure that he would forget he had a daughter and would think he had a son instead.
Maybe it was her so called Hyper Intuition (If it was even active at this point of her life... When was it that Tsunayoshi gained access to it? She couldn't remember) speaking at the moment... But from what she knew of him and what she saw from him, it was a possibility.
Anyway!
Her new life had been pretty boring and normal till a few weeks after her third birthday (and two days after her father had gone back to Antarctica - aka. Italia - for work) when she made her first friend in her new life. Not that her mother or anyone else that saw them together would even think that she considered him a friend.
Her mother had brought her to one of the many parks - the most popular one - in Namimori. Nana had tried to make her talk or play with the other children that were there with their mothers or siblings, but Tsubaki was much more interested in the old man - dressed in a red Chinese robes - who was walking in the direction of the big forest that existed behind the park.
Tsubaki blinked her eyes, humming to herself as she thought about her options.
To follow, or to not follow, that is the question...
"What is wrong Tsu-chan?" Tsubaki blinked and raised her head. When she looked at her mother face, she made her decision.
"Mama, if you don't mind, could we please explore the forest?"
A few mothers, who were walking or standing near them, looked in their direction with wide eyes. Not that Tsubaki would blame them. It wasn't every day that you see a tiny three years old talking as if she was older, nor was it common to see an three years old have the composure of a well-trained lady.
Tsubaki never liked to act like the perfect princess as Elise, but her grandfather had taught her how to be a well-respected lady and how old Japanese noblewoman acted and she had loved those lessons. So while she didn't act like she did when near her old parents, she still acted like the lady her grandfather taught her to be.
Nana gave her a blinding smile that could have lighted a whole room. She seemed really happy to see Tsubaki interested in something. "Of course, Tsu-chan! You and I could have an adventure together!"
Tsubaki's lips twitched upwards as her mother clapped her hands with a childish glint in her eyes.
Her mother was like a little child sometimes when it came to her.
It was refreshing.
"Thank you, Mama."
The two of them, with Nana holding her hand, walked in the same direction that the old man had gone to. They followed a small trail they had found in the dense forest for almost two hour.
As they walked, Nana would point to animals or plants and tell Tsubaki what they were (She already knew most of the things the brown haired woman told her, but she was more than happy to listen) and continued the small lesson till they reached a part of the forest that seemed more dense than before and where there was a big lake with a red Chinese styled bridge.
Her mother gasped when they saw what was hiding behind a few Sakura trees and others types of trees in the end of the bridge. Not that Tsubaki could blame her. The big building - that she thought to be some type of temple - looked like something coming from a movie. It was impressive.
"Oh, my..." Her mother placed a hand in her right cheek, shocked. "I didn't know there was a place like this here..."
"Most people don't know about this place." Nana jumped while Tsubaki's eyebrow twitched as the heavy accented voice came from nowhere. "Only three people... Now five, because of you two."
Slowly, they turned around to see the old man Tsubaki had been interested before. He was clearly Chinese and had reddish-brown eyes. He was an elderly man, with some wrinkles on his forehead and cheeks, but not much. His silver-gray hair was combed back and he had a large mustache.
He had his hands behind his back and Tsubaki couldn't stop herself from comparing him to Zeno from Hunter X Hunter. Because he didn't look like it, but he was dangerous.
Deadly so.
"Hello." He said with a gently smile.
She wasn't fooled.
Tsubaki grabbed her mother's skirt. If needed, she would stop the woman from approaching him.
He didn't move, but Tsubaki knew he had seen what she was doing and knew what she wanted to prevent. He could wear whatever mask he wanted. She had lived with a mask for twenty four - now twenty seven - years old when not in her grandfather presence and her grandfather had taught her how to recognized them.
She didn't trust him. Especially because he made her think of Zeno.
Zeno was an assassin, one of the most powerful members of the Zoldyck family and a Hunter. And this was Katekyo Hitman World, this meant the old man could be an assassin, a Hitman, a yakuza leader, all the options above... She didn't trust him.
Not till he showed he wasn't a threat and her head stopped hurting.
It was in moments like this, that she hated her Hyper Intuition. Sometimes it would give her information, like a small voice in the back of her head. Other times it would not leave her alone till she did what it wanted and at the moment, it wanted her to stay away from the old man.
"Oh, good afternoon." Her mother bowed with a small flush of embarrassment in her face. "I didn't know this was a private property... We were just exploring the forest and ended here."
He nodded. "I understand, my dear." He smiled in Tsubaki's direction. "It was the young lady's idea, I presume." He muttered the last part, but her mother still heard him.
Tsubaki had to stop herself from frowning when she looked in his eyes. It literally told her: I saw you staring early in the park.
Now this won't do.
She needed to be more discrete…
Her mother nodded. "Ah yes, Tsu-chan was curious about the forest."
"I see... Children are very curious creatures no?" While her mother nodded with a smile, his eyes flickered in her direction with wonder for a second. "Would you two like tea?"
No, Tsubaki wanted to say. But her mother clapped her hands together and smiled.
"Oh, yes please. I hope we won't be imposing?" He waved a hand dismissively.
"Of course not my dear, my son and grandson hadn't come to visit me for a while now. I like to have company for tea."
Nana nodded and placed a hand in her shoulder, pushing Tsubaki to walk with them as they moved in direction of the temple.
"Perhaps... Yes, it could be..." Tsubaki turned her attention to the old man by the corner of her eyes. And if she hadn't been paying so much attention to him, she would have never heard what he said next.
"Just like Fon."
Tsubaki stopped walking, making her mother turn in her direction with a confused look. But she stayed where she was, staring at nothing in particular with a blankly expression.
Had she heard right?
Target 1. The Reborn Camellia
Hey!
I have been wanting to write a KHR fic where a girl is reincarnated as Tsuna for a long time now. And I hope that my story will be different from the others you can find out there and that you all liked/will like Tsubaki and even the old man (The one that looks like Zeno. He will be a important character... Well, at least, the way I see it, he is/will be important *shrug*).
Again, hope you liked this story :3
