Gryffindor- Alfred, Vash, Matthias, Antonio, Michelle
Slytherin- Gilbert, Bella, Arthur, Natalia, Lukas, Blair, Avery, Monica
Ravenclaw- Elizabeta, Roderich, Francis
Hufflepuff- Matthew, Lili
"A fourteen year old? What the fuck, Gilbert!" Bella hissed at breakfast. She and Arthur had started talking about the incident on the way to breakfast, and by the time Gilbert had arrived after walking Matthew down, Bella was pissed.
"It's just-"
"Gilbert Beilshmidt. Don't you fucking dare interrupt you piece of shit." Bella was fuming. "I went along with your plan to use some innocent Hufflepuff, but I will not allow you to lead underage girls on just to keep up your bad boy reputation. You have gone too far, this time. You need to stop."
Gilbert glared at Bella. "Oh please, like you know anything about my situation. How's that secret admirer thing going? Don't play dumb, I know you and Monica are trying to figure it out."
"Maybe I need friends who will actually support me, Gil, and aren't so preoccupied with getting revenge," Bella yelled.
"Keep it down."
"No. I'm done, Gilbert. You've done a lot of questionable things in the past, but this is too far."
Bella rose, grabbed her food and walked away.
"What a cunt," Gilbert growled.
Arthur looked uncomfortable.
"What?"
"Gil, maybe this isn't such a good idea," Arthur mumbled.
"Are you serious? You're the one who suggested it," Gilbert argued.
Arthur shrugged. "I know, but it's all spinning out of control. I didn't think-"
"That's the problem. You don't think." Gilbert said bluntly.
Arthur deflated. "I'm going to go sit with Monica and Bella. If you have anything to say to us we'll be there, but for now I think you need your space."
"Fine. Be that way." Gilbert frowned returning to his ignored breakfast.
"Hey, why hot guy like you shouldn't be sitting alone," the girl from last night said, straddling the bench.
"Meet me in our commons in ten minutes," Gil said harshly. Angrily he stood up and stalked out of the room. Unbeknownst to him three pairs of eyes were watching him closely. Ten minutes later, Avery got up as well.
"I hope everything's alright," Matthew murmured under his breath at breakfast.
"Huh?"
"Gilbert just left and he seemed pretty upset," Matthew explained quietly.
Lili looked over at the Slytherin table with a slight frown, "Bella and Arthur aren't sitting where they usually do. It's probably just some fight."
"Yeah I guess."
The rest of the day, Gilbert was in a foul mood. He avoided Matthew, as well as all his friends, preferring to be by himself. His grim expression managed to keep people at bay, if they were smart. But apparently Ravenclaw's weren't that smart.
"Gilbert."
Gil froze. He recognized that voice, and all the bad memories that came with it. He turned, a sneer on his face. "Hello, Francis."
The blond was frowning. "I heard that you're interested in my cousin."
"Cousin?" Gil asked.
"Matthew."
"Is he related to fucking everyone in this school?" Gil seethed.
"Language Mr. Beilshmidt. Ten points from Slytherin," a passing teacher commented. Gil rolled his eyes.
"What do you mean by that?" Francis asked slowly.
"I mean that I only know him through Alfred."
Francis nodded. "Right, that would be his mother's side. I'm related to him because his father is my mother's-"
"Honestly I don't care."
"Wait you only know him from Al? I introduced you two back in second year. You barely paid him any attention back then," Francis said.
Gil shrugged. "We were just shitty twelve year olds. Besides he's way cuter now."
"Ugh, and people call me the pervert." Francis huffed. "I just wanted to tell you that if you break his heart I will come for you."
Gilbert raised a brow. "Really? You and what army?"
"Beta, for one. She's a pretty excellent hitter. Also Antonio, he'd side with me over you any day. You've got enemies, Beilshmidt. So don't ruin this."
"What fucking ever," Gil said continuing to class. He honestly was so tired with all of this. Sure, Matthew was cute, but he hated the guilty feeling that he had begun to associate with the other teen. He figured it was just some Pavlovian response or something and he was sick of it. He didn't have feelings for the other boy. No way. Gilbert wasn't a sap, not like his brother Ludwig. He had seen Ludwig and his boyfriend around the school and it was disgusting. He couldn't be falling for the blond. No way, not at all.
And so a bad day extended into a bad week.
Gilbert isolated himself completely. There was no band practice, he avoided his old friends, Avery wouldn't talk to him, and any time he saw Matthew he started to head in the other direction. His head was all screwed up, and he couldn't risk talking to the other boy. He might say something dumb, or revealing...he needed to forget Roderich. No Matthew. He had to get Matthew out of his head, he needed to get rid of the guilt.
Everything was going all wrong. He had had such great plans for sixth year, and all he had managed to do was push away his friends.
Not only were Bella and Arthur ignoring him, but whenever they saw him they looked at him with such vile repulsion. He supposed they had witnessed him talk Avery into leaving the Great Hall with him. He couldn't blame them. All he could do was blame himself. Merlin, he was done.
And then at the beginning of the second week, a miracle occurred.
Sorry for the short update this time. Also sorry that this is super angsty and Gil's being a jerk or whatever. It's a necessary evil for character development. Not sure when I'll update again since I'm about to start my final year of high school, but I hope I can update again soon. Leave a review please they're the best. Loads of love ~T.W.o.W.
