We're heading towards the beams of light. Once in a while they flicker and I can tell Four is trying to keep them in the air, but also battle some of the Mogs.

Don't worry Four, I know where you are! I re-assure him

We weave through several city block, protecting people and taking out as many Mogadorians as we can, but it's becoming difficult to stop a full fledged invasion. Although I fear for everyone, I've never felt so alive in my life! Working with another Garde and searching for another, we are separated again, but with humans with new legacies, we have a fighting chance...at least I keep telling myself. As long as Blake is safe and can take care of himself, I'm okay.

Another army of Mogs are charging at us. I smile slightly and shoot a look at Nine.

First one to kill the most Mogs gets bragging rights. I say to him.

You're on Princess he grins.

I dive to the left, Nine up the wall. I turn rubber and roll like a bouncy ball underneath a Mog's legs. I can nearly feel the heat of his blaster, but I'm already two steps ahead of him. I go upwards and spear him through the chest. I use my telekinesis to grab a canon, and smash him over the head with it. Nine is bringing the heat too, he grabs a Mog's dagger and plunges it directly into its eye. He uses the cover of ash to slide up the wall again and ambush a few more, slitting their throats. I turn steel and shatter two Mogs at once, one with a direct hit in the stomach with my fist and another with a sharp kick to the throat. Something hits me and I have to try it out.

Nine! I ask him. How are you at soccer?

I can kick some serious ass, why?

Get ready to score a goal!

You bet!

I turn rubber again and come rolling at Nine. He gives a mighty kick to my shoulder and I go flying towards a set of Mogadorians. At the last minute, I change ball bearings and hit them all directly with sharp crunches. When I unroll myself, I'm in a pile of ash. It takes a minute to become balanced again, but when I see Nine standing over me with a smirk of approval.

"Those are some mighty fine reflexes there Princess."

"You're not so bad yourself" I grin with the same humour and grin.

"Pretty creative, I've never done anything like that before." he admits.

"Seems like you could learn a thing or two from the outcast" I snort.

"I guess Fatboy's legacy isn't so bad after all. You know he broke my fist once?"

"Doesn't surprise me." I shrug, dusting myself off. "You take some getting used to."

"Still doesn't give him grounds to..." Nine tries to.

"Guys!" Blake yells at us. He's freaking out, he's creating a wall of fire and he can't control it. I try to keep it doused, with my ability to control the surrounding energy. I move the flames with my mind forcing them down so they can't gain the oxygen they need to burn down the city block. I start to strain myself, but the flames are too strong. The city block is basically doomed, all the innocent lives that are... We're supposed to be the ones saving everyone. If Lorien is in the Earth, why is it trying to get us killed?

John Smith! I say loudly. We need your help. My boyfriend acquired some kind of legacy and he's lost control! We need you to help us. Please tell me you have some kind of water legacy.

I decide we need to at least give the people a fighting chance to escape. We need to clear a pathway to help them, but the flames are spreading so quickly.

"Nine!" I yell. There's a hydrant near by. "We need to make a path to help these..."

I turn silver and smash the lid off it. Immediately, water goes skyward, cold, but refreshing. I use my telekinesis and try to direct the water towards the raging flames, that are almost reaching a second storey floor of an apartment building. Nine gives me a hand, directing the flow of water.

How the hell do firemen make this look so easy? I guess they do have a hose and don't try to control wild water with their minds. We try to extinguish the raging , people are going to die. The heat is now so intense, almost as intense as the explosion at Dulce. My lungs are burning with smoke and my eyes are tearing up intensely. The only comfort is the icy cold water that soaks my hands. My skin legacy will protect me, but Nine won't be so lucky.

Where are you Four?! I shriek into my head.

The water is hardly making a dent in the raging flames. Why did Blake have to get the ability to control this element? Why not water or air? Something the Mogs are not using to destroy New York City! Somebody please help us!

Like a miracle, it begins to rain, hard. Lighting, thunder, everything! The flames are still raging, but with the water Nine and I are providing, plus the rain, it doesn't stand a chance.

"Six" Nine says.

"Who?" I ask.

"Number Six, she can conjure up thunder storms like this. They must be back!"

My heart skips a beat, the rest of the Garde are back. Excitement grows in the pit of my stomach. We are finally all here and united as one!

I search for Blake. He stands a few yards to my right, staring upwards. He mesmerized by something, I look up. My heart drops to my stomach. A large ship is coming down from the sky, clouds and rain coming from it. I search the minds of those on board and my heart stops.

"It's him!" I whisper.

"You've met him?" Nine asks.

"More than once, we're already quite acquainted with his laughter and my screams"

"Visions?" he asks.

"How'd you guess?" I say sarcastically.

"NINE!" a voice shout out.

We turn to see a boy, about seventeen years old with blonde hair and a strong jaw running towards us. His hands are ablaze with the blue light that I recognize from the sky. He's followed by a skinny boy about the same age and with hair matted in a mess and what seems like an army of governement agents. I raise a fighting stance and prepare to attack. Nine puts a hand on my shoulder to tell me to stand down.

"It's okay, the FBI is on our side now"

"Can't they make up their minds?"

"Attacked by the FEDs?"

"You have no idea!" I snarl. "Fortunately, I turned one of the agents onto our side"

"Really, where is he now?"

"Protecting his family in Mexico."

Nine shoots me a look like how could I do that?

"Back off, he has a seven year old son and wife to look after." I say.

"This is war Princess..."

He never finishes his sentence when John Smith runs up to us. He take one look at Nine and slugs him in the shoulder.

"Ow, what the hell?!"

"Nice strategy, straddle Five and neglect protecting the innocent." he growls. He extinguishes his hands and stands with his arms crossed.

"Shut up!" Nine hisses, rubbing his shoulder. "He doesn't deserve to live!"

"It's my turn to slug him. It's time for my presence to be known. John's eyes flicker from Nine to me.

"Ow! I thought the pasty faces were the enemy. Oh right, John, Sam, meet Christina."

I take a leap of faith and hug him. He smells of blood, smoke and gasoline, but he's here and alive. He pushes back to get a good look at me. The skinny kid, Sam, pokes me to make sure I'm real. His blue eyes scan me over make sure I'm not an impostor. His eyes fall to the pendent dangling on my chest, that's when I reach out to him with telepathy.

I am Number Ten!

He sucks in a nervous breath and steps back.

Our attention goes back to the ship attempting to land, stirring up quite the storm as it comes down.

"He's back" John grimaces.

I get a flashback in his head, he attempted to get aboard the ship that was taking Ella and Ra spared his life this time, all because of the charm Ra has cast on Ella, any damage we do him goes to one of our own, so John stopped the attack on the leader. That's when Five took off into the sky, with Nine hanging on and when they crashed. I also realize that Sam now has legacies like Blake, he discovered this while trying to protect John from a Piken.

I re-focus as the ship touches down in front of us. Blake raises his canon to attack, but I drag him back and hold him behind me. All of us with baited breath, unable to move. The ship touches down on the street. A silver platform comes out and reveals an army of Mogadorians. They stand in perfect formation, guns in position, but they remain still. They must be waiting for the general or whatever to give them the signal to attack. John Smith's hands light up and Nine takes a fighting stance. I show off my Externa to the others and pound my fist and hand together. Blake charges up the canon and so do the government agents. We wait.

Nothing happens at first. I'm searching the thoughts for Setrakus Ra and Ella, hopefully she's safe until we can get to her, but I can't detect her. Suddenly, my Externa stops and John's lights go out.

"What's happening?" I whisper.

"Ra is canceling our legacies" John explains. "He does it to give him a distinct edge, but I have back up" He holds up a blue diamond encrusted sword that fits over his hand perfectly. It sort of reminds me of my tiara, giving us a special defense.

I grab my whip from my belt and brandish it with all the aggression I can muster. He's the reason Anali, Annie and everyone else I love is dead. He's the one who destroyed our planet and wants to destroy Earth too. He deserves everything he gets.

"Suddenly a large booming voice echos through the city.

"I see you found the spare." His voice is exactly the way I heard it in my dreams, dripping with satisfaction and evil.

"Come out and fight you coward!" Nine yells.

"And spoil the fun? Certainly not. I just wanted to give my soldiers a fair chance. No legacies allowed this time around"

"Why don't you fight us, leave your pathetic footmen out of this?" I shout.

"And miss the fun? I don't want to get my hands dirty, treating my granddaughter's wounds"

"You're a monster" I hiss angrily. "Pathetic and a damned coward!"

"Your words hardly phase me child. Enjoy!"

That's the signal for army of Mog army to attack. We have no legacies, but we can fight. I thrash my whip forward, creating a streak of fire in front of the advancing Mogs. They charge right through it with no hesitation, they can't defeat our army. Blake, Sam and the agents begin picking the front runners as John, Nine and I dodge the blasts and go into hand to hand combat. John slits the throat of one Mog as I choke hold a solider with my whip. I grab a sword and stab behind me, spearing a Mog in the stomach. I tuck and roll under another Mog and stab him the back. Nine is taking out Mogs with his bare hands, punching and using a canon to smash their heads in. I whip around, creating a ring of fire, not caring if my skin legacy is gone. I'll burn, but I want a piece of Setrakus Ra. He's a snake that needs to be straddled. He will pay for everything.

The army is falling easily, we may not have legacies, but we are warriors. The ash is billowing up from the street as we fight towards the ship. We need Ella back.

I'm the first to break through the army and I wipe blood from a cut I got in the battle. I start towards the silver platform, my whip poised. I can see his shadow within the ship, he's waiting for us. He steps subtly down the ramp into my view. He looks as ugly as ever. He's not as big as he is in my dreams, but his cropped hair, chiseled face, the pendants and the purple scar on his neck are all there. He grins at me, showing off his rows of sharp, yellowing teeth.

"You're as ugly as I remember" I snarl.

"You flatter me Aralia"

"How do you...?"

"I've always known about your family. Remember, I was the fallen Elder, the one that prevented you from inheriting the role. The one that drove the wedge between your family. I'm the one who turned your brother to our side."

Hot tears swell up in my eyes and I swallow hard. All my rage is boiling over, I have waited so long to meet him face to face and I regret it already. He is the reason for everything!

"Prepare to pay the ultimate price." I yell.

"CHRISTINA WAIT!" a voice yells out. I turn and I see Five, my brother standing there among the ash. "Remember the charm, you'll hurt Ella!"

Blake runs toward Five, canon raised, ready to finish off the rest of the Mogs. John and Nine are picking off the rest of the hapless soldiers, too busy to see another Mogadorian charging at Blake and Five.

"FIVE look out!" I yell in a panic. He finally notices the solider, but his legacies are gone, he can't protect himself or Blake. I start to run away from the ship, my legs feel like cement, I won't be able to reach them in time! I push myself, please God let me do this! I can't lose them. I fight the hardest I can, beat the blast that is slowly inching its way towards the helpless...!

The next minute happens in slow motion I make one gigantic leap over the ones I love and I see a flash of green light, bracing myself for the pain. I can only hear Blake's scream and Five's yell for me.

Then everything goes black...
