Ch 1: The last 5 years.

It was 3:04 PM in Lumoise city and the sun shined brightly across the city. A young couple was rushing through the streets past dozens of people and occasionally a pokemon beside their trainer.

"Come on Bruno we're already late for the match!" The girl shouted as she pulled the boy by the arm.

"I'm coming Elise." The two eventually reached their destination, a large stadium. The stadium had been built only a few years ago and had been well maintained. The two rushed in and to the ticket area.

"Two tickets please." Elise asked.

"I'm afraid the match is almost over." The woman said.

"Aww." Elise said.

"I believe they are still battling though, so you can go in and watch for free if you'd like." She said.

"Well it's better than nothing." Bruno said.

"Alright let's go." Elise said as she grabbed Bruno's shoulder and dragged him through the hallways towards the seats.

The interior of the stadium was massive and very well designed. The seats surrounded the battlefield which was much like an island raised above the ground which was much lower beneath it. There was 2 walkways on each side that lead to and off the battlefield.

Several lights attached the the ceiling were the main source of illumination inside the stadium as they focused down on the battlefield.

"Look there's some seats." Bruno said as he and Elise sat down.

Standing on one end of the battlefield was a young man with thick brown hair and black eyes. He wore a dark green jacket with light green edges and inside with a red shirt underneath. Standing in front of him was a Meowth wearing a blue hat with a feather on the side, a red hanger chief scant around his neck and a pair of brown boots on his feet.

Standing on the other side of the battlefield was another young man. He was slightly shorter than the young man standing across from him, and a relatively muscular physique. He had slightly tanned skin with brown eyes and relatively long raven black hair. He wore a black and dark blue short sleeved jacket with a red T-shirt underneath.

He wore navy blue jeans and a pair of blackish brown bracer like devices on his wrists and forearms with a small black spade on top of each one. On top of his head was a silver gray cap with a black middle and a blue pokeball symbol on the center.

Standing in front of the young man was a Pikachu who was in an aggressive stance with his cheeks sparking.

"Oh it's Tyson Tetsyua and Ash Ketchum!" Elise said sounding very excited.

"Iron tail!" Tyson shouted.

"Pikachu Iron tail!" Ash shouted. Both pokemon turned their tails metal and rushed at each other. They met in the center of the battlefield before the Meowth swung his tail violently, but precisely at Pikachu.

Pikachu , however, proved far to fast for the Meowth. He ducked, leapt , or lurched out the way for half the strikes, while also blocking the others with his own Iron tail.

Ash Pikachu sparred with Meowth, Ash was able to see the battle from his and Pikachu's perspective through their aura connection. It was when he saw an opening and explained it to Pikachu through their aura connection.

"Iron tail!" Ash shouted. Pikachu came in just after the Meowth had his tail knocked aside, and smashed his own Iron tail across the Meowth's chest. The Meowth was hurled back and across the field, landing right in front of his trainer.

"Thunder!" Ash shouted before Meowth hit the ground.

"Pika chu!" Pikachu shouted as he unleashed a massive bolt of electricity.

"Meowth use Thunderbolt!" Tyson said. The Meowth quickly got up and unleashed a powerful bolt of electricity that hit the Thunder. It didn't stop it , but slowed it down.

"Volt tackle!" Ash shouted. Pikachu covered himself in electricity and sprinted forward through the Thunder and Thunderbolt like a flash of lightning.

"Meowth move!" Tyson shouted. Before Meowth could even fully hear what Tyson said, Pikachu leapt through the last of the Thunderbolt and smashed into Meowth before unleashing all his stored electricity.

"Chu!" He roared as he unleashed his volt tackle on Meowth.

"Meowth!" Tyson shouted.

"Meowth!" His Meowth cried out in pain as the electricity surged through his body.

Pikachu leapt back as the Meowth stood in front of him with some electricity still surging in him. Not a moment later the Meowth fell backwards with swirly eyes.

"Trainer Tyson's Meowth is unable to continuer. The winner is trainer Ash Ketchum." The Announcer said as the crowd let out a roar of applause.

"Alright we did it!" Ash said as he held his arm up.

"Pika!" pikachu said proudly.

"Meowth return. You battled valiantly." Tyson said before he walked towards the center of the battlefield. Pikachu climbed back onto Ash's shoulder before he met Tyson in the center.

"Well Ash that was quite a battle, you're as good as I've heard." Tyson said.

"Thanks Tyson, you're quite a skilled trainer too." Ash said. Several minutes later Ash and Pikachu were in the stadium overseer's office with Tyson.

"An outstanding match today gentlemen. You should both be proud of yourselves." The man said as he finished signing a second check.

"Your payments." He said handing Ash and Tyson their checks. Tyson had earned 3500 Kuros for battling there, and Ash had earned 5000 for winning.

"Please keep your eyes open for the next openings. The love you two. Goodbye." The overseer said before Ash and Tyson walked out of the officer.

As the two walked towards the exit Tyson turned to Ash and Pikachu.

"You know I wanted to ask you this before the match Ash. I know that you were the runner up in the Kalos league 5 years ago and you probably would have won if you faced anyone else. You've only gotten better since then, plus you just beat me and I've won the Hoenn league. Why haven't you gone and competed in the Kalos league again?" Tyson asked.

Ash turned his head towards Pikachu.

"Well I guess I just saw the NPC as a better opportunity for me." Ash said.

"I suppose you have a point. Getting in wasn't easy." Tyson said.

"It took me two years of hard training with my pokemon before I could get in." Ash said.

"I didn't get in until I was 19 years old, but you getting in at 17. That only furthers my point." Tyson said. When the two got outside Tyson looked at his watch.

"Huh it's only 4:00 and I've got 3500 Kuros. I actually haven't had lunch yet, if you want to join me I'm buying." Tyson said.

"Thanks but no thank you. I actually need to be somewhere soon." Ash said.

"Alright, I hope we can face off again some day. Next time I won't lose." Tyson said before he shook Ash's hand.

"We'll see." Ash said. After Tyson walked away Ash turned in the other direction.

"Well let's go." Ash said. Ash ran up against the side of a building and began to scale his way up the side before reaching the roof. Once he was at the top, Ash climbed to top of a narrow metal structure and balanced himself on top.

He then synchronized his aura with the area around him and used his enhanced senses to see farther through the city.

"There's the fastest way there." Ash said. He leapt down and parkoured across the rooftops and sides of buildings. After he reached the edge of a building and saw his destination in front of him.

"Here we are." Ash said before he dove forward and performed a leap of faith off the building. Just below was a flower shop with a large pile of flowers in front of the shop.

"Why did you just dump the flowers in front of my shop. You were suppose to bring them inside." The owner said as he argued with the delivery man.

"I apologize sir, but my partner and I were taking them in when the containers broke and they all came out." The delivery man said.

"So you just left them there." The owner said.

"Well." The delivery man said as he and his partner sweat dropped. Moments later the 3 heard something land in the flower bed. They turned to see a young man with a pikachu on his shoulder climb out of the flowers.

The 3 had looks of complete confusion and disbelief on their faces as they watched Ash get out.

"Sorry about the flowers." Ash said as he took out a hundred Kuros banknote and handed it to the owner who still had a look of complete disbelief on his face.

Ash walked across the street and to none other than the Grand Chateau Castle. He reached the front entrance where a pair of men in grey uniforms stood.

"I'm here for the show. I have a pass." Ash said as he took it out.

"Very well welcome sir." One of the guards said as they stepped out of the way and let him in. Ash walked through the hallways of the castle past many fine dressed trainers and other guests.

He eventually made his way to an upper seating area of a theater room. It was not a battlefield theater, but had a real stage and curtain. Ash sat down as a young man wearing a suit , and a Hawlucha with several golden streaks put on his wings, both took a bow as the audience applauded.

As the young man and his Hawlucha walked off another man wearing a black and gray suit and a top hat with a black walking stick with a diamond on top in his hand.

"An outstanding performance by performer Anton Dufort and his Hawlucha. Now for our next performer, the lovely Serena Achille and her Delphox." The man said as the lights in the room dimmed again and the stage lights focused on the center of the stage.

The curtains opened as the lights focused on a Delphox and a young woman standing beside her.

The young woman had light and smooth skin with long honey blonde hair that was done up in long and thick back tied off like a ponytail. She had light blue eyes and wore a black and red performance dress with exposed shoulders and dress ends that only went to her knees.

Delphox had several linens around her done up in a very organized manner.

Serena and Delphox stepped forward before they took each other's arms. Music began to play as the two slowly danced with each others. The music started slow but started to get faster when Delphox opened her eyes and lit up the linens she was wearing in fire.

The fire surrounded Delphox making her light up and in a beautiful manner. Despite the fire around Delphox, Serena kept dancing with her pokemon as they started to move faster and do more choreographed moves.

The crowd got more enticed as Delphox lifted up Serena and held her in the air as she spun them around and unleashed a spinning stream of fire around them that calmly formed a lovely display around them.

After seeing this with Delphox and Serena in the center, many in the audience began to applaud already.

Moments later Delphox's eyes glowed red as she lifted Serena higher into the air with Psychic energy. After Serena was directly over Delphox, the fire fox pokemon used her psychic powers to move the fire around Serena and kept it close to her without it actually touching.

She did the same to herself until it looked like they were both wearing matching fire dresses. Delphox raised her arm again as the fire burst away into red sparkles that showered the entire stage as Serena was slowly lowered down beside her.

Serena and Delphox both bowed as the crowd let out an uproar of applause. Ash stood up and applauded , prompting several others to do the same.

"Well quite a magnificent performance by madame Achille and her Delphox. The man in the grey and black suit said as he stepped back out onto the stage.

"Pika." Pikachu said sounding very impressed.

"You've got that right Pikachu." Ash said. Twenty minutes later Serena met with the owner of the Castle.

"Quite a performance . The members here aimer you and your Pokemon." He said as he wrote Serena a check.

"Thank you." Serena said as she took the check.

"I'll be sure to inform you when the next performance is. We'd love for you to be part of it.".

"Thank you, I will." Serena said. Serena left the office and into the hallway. She had changed out of her dress and into her normal attire. Her cloths consisted of a light grayish- blue shirt tank top with a reds collar. She also wore a blue skirt with black stockings and gray shoes.

She didn't wear a hat but had a bow holding the back part of her hair in a fashion similar to a large more free and less organized manner similar to the way she wore it in her performance.

As she walked down the hallway she felt an all to familiar presence near her. She stopped and heard his voice behind her.

"That was quite a performance Serena." Serena turned and saw Ash.

"There you are,my love." Serena said. The two wrapped their arms around each other before Ash leaned his head in and kissed her.

"I'm sorry that I couldn't make it to your match today." Serena said after he withdrew.

"It's ok, you've been to plenty of my matches. I'm just glad I was able to see you perform today. You and Delphox were beautiful out there." Ash said.

"Thank you." Serena said blushing.

"So do you feel like going out somewhere to eat or heading home?" Ask asked.

"I'm feeling a bit tired. I'd rather we just ate at home." Serena said.

"Sounds good." Ash said. The two made their way out of the castle and down the streets of Lumoise city.

Twenty minutes later they reached their apartment building and walked inside. After they reached their apartment, they let out each of their pokemon and gave them all dinner after changing out of their outfits.

Over the last 5 years Ash had caught another 3 pokemon. A Goomy that he fully evolved into Goodra. A Cradaunt, and a Trevenant.

Serena was now wearing a blue hooded short sleeved jacket and lavender shorts with her hair still done up like she had had it all day.

Ash was wearing a red short sleeved shirt with the symbol of the NPC on it, and a pair of black running shorts. Serena and Ash but sat down on their couch befroe Serena rested her head against Ash's shoulder.

"I started the oven." Serena said.

"I started defrosting the ingredients." Ash said.

"I guess that means we have a good 40 minutes before we need to start cooking." Serena said before she turned to the side and put her hands on Ash's shoulders before laying him down and kissing him as she lay on top of him.

A few minutes later the two were watching tv as Serena rested her head on Ash's chest.

"Today the champion of the Kalos region, Diantha, announced the newest member of the Kalos elite four Laura Wald of Laverre city." A woman said.

"Laura, wow she actually made it." Serena said.

"According to Diantha, Laura Wald will be inducted into the elite four at the end of the month.".

"I wonder if they're going to discuss you're match?" Serena asked as she changed the channel.

When they reached the channel, a symbol of the NPC appeared. The symbol was similar to that of the Kalos league's symbol, except with fire, water, and grass symbols around it.

"We're back folks to the National Pokemon Challengers. Today's match in Lumoise city featured Ash Ketchum against Tyson Tetsyua. These two trainers battled hard. Ash' Ketchum's Halwucha proving very effective against Tyson's Hariyama." The commentator said as he showed clips of Ash's match against Tyson.

"The match seemed to turn back in Tyson's favor when he brought out his Metagross. The pseudo legendary pokemon was able to knock out Ash's Hawlucha and Goodra. However the match turned again when Ash sent out his incredible Pikachu." The commentator said before showing clips of Pikachu fighting.

"Pikachu was able to knock out Tyson's Metagross and his Meowth, making Ash the winner of today's match." The commentator said showing Ash and Pikachu in the center of the field.

"I'm so proud of you for making it into the NPC." Serena said. The National Pokemon Challengers was a Kalos pokemon league that pit professional pokemon trainers against each other in matches across the Kalos region.

Gaining entrance into the National Pokemon Challengers was no easy task. Every year there was a candidate week, where trainers would have to prove themselves in a series of intense battles and challenges , while also being evaluated by a board. Only at the end of the week did the board decide who would be allowed to enter. Most of the trainers in the NPC were winners of pokemon leagues, battle frontiers, or Grand dukes/ Duchesses.

After Ash lost the kilos league and learned more about the NPC he believed it would be the key to not only him becoming a pokemon master, but increasing his notoriety as a master trainer.

He spent to years doing hard training with his pokemon. When he was 17 he managed to make it through the candidate week and gained entrance to the NPC, making him the youngest to make through the candidate week.

Since then he spent most of his time training, and battling against other professional trainers. He also occasionally did assignments with the Kalos aura guardian Lumoise guild to keep his skills as a guardian sharp.

Ash made plenty of money competing in the NPC and reward money from the guild for taking part in assignments.

"It's so amazing that your in the NPC, competing with professional trainers." Serena said.

"You're doing very well yourself. You've done so many amazing performances all across Kalos." Ash said.

After Serena lost in the grand festival, she spend a year training with Ash before she competed in the Grand festival again. Since she was a grand duchess she didn't have to compete in other tournaments first that time. Unfortunately she lost again, but didn't give up. Just after Ash got accepted into he NPC, she competed in the Grand Festival for a third time and won, earning her the title Grand Duchess.

After she won the title Grand Duchess, Serena wasn't sure what she wanted to do with herself. That was until she saw a pokemon performance in the Grand Festival right after her winning match.

She was amazed with the elegance and beauty of performing with one's pokemon and took a great interest in it. Ash took her to another few performances across Kalos before she decided it was what she wanted to do.

She spend a year practicing and preparing before debuting in Shalour city when she turned 18. After her first show, Serena knew that it was what she wanted to do the rest of her life, and had been performing at shows across Kalos since then.

An hour later the two were having dinner. As they ate, Ash thought about how Laura had made it into the Kalos elite four. In truth he had hoped that him being in the NPC would not only make him a much more skilled trainer, but a better known one. Because one day he hoped he could join the elite four.

Ash knew that it wasn't enough being a master to make it in the elite four. You had to be well known. Since she lost in the Kalos league 5 years ago, Laura competed in the Kalos league again, the Sinnoh league, and the orange island league. Winning all 3.

Many elite four members were well known trainers before they joined their respective elite fours. Ash knew that if he could make it into an elite four, he'd be among the best trainers on the planet.

But getting there would be no simple task. In truth improving his skills as a trainer was one of the reasons Ash had not competed in another pokemon league. He knew he could beat 8 gym leaders, he had done it before. If he spent his time traveling around occasionally battling a skilled trainer, then he wouldn't get nearly as much experience as he did in the NPC.

Serena was well aware of this, two years prior she asked him if he wanted to compete in the Kalos league again. Ash explained why he didn't ,and Serena understood.

"So I was thinking of heading to professor Sycamore's lab tomorrow, apparently Bonnie is getting her starter pokemon. Want to come?" Ash asked.

"Of course, it's always good to see them. We haven't been able to see Clemont, and Bonnie as much as I wish we could." Serena said.

After their journey ended, Clemont and Bonnie returned to their home where Clemont resumed his job as gym leader. He also spent more time working on his inventions, while still finding time to be with Shauna.

Bonnie was turning 11 and starting her pokemon journey soon. Later that night Ash and Serena were in their bedroom as they prepared for bed.

Pikachu was already fast asleep on top of Ash's pillow. Meanwhile Serena pulled down her shorts and took off her sweatshirt as Ash took off his shirt and laid down. Serena, now in just her bra and panties, removed the bow in her hair, allowing it to be free before she cuddled up beside Ash.

She moved her head over his before kissing him.

"I love you." Serena said.

"I love you to." Ash said before putting his hand on the back of her head and pulling his head back up as he kissed her back. Twenty minutes later Serena was fast asleep with her head resting on Ash's chest.

Ash was still awake thinking about Laura and her getting the elite four position. He was happy for her, but in truth Ash had been considering pursuing the spot himself. He knew that he was only twenty years old, but there were many in the elite four that had been in their twenties when they made it in.

Not to mention he fact that Daniel Rian had beaten every regional champion by the time he was 18. Ash felt great disappointment that the opportunity was gone. Still he had a lot to be grateful for. He had Serena, his pokemon, and he was in the NPC. He gained plenty of experience with each battle and knew that someday he would make it into an elite four.

The following morning Ash awoke to the sounds of Fletchlings chirping outside the window. He slowly opened his eyes as the sunrise lit up the room. He saw Serena still asleep with her head on his chest.

Ash carefully put his arms around her stomach and moved her beside him rather than on him. Before getting up he kept his hands on her stomach for another minute and gave her a kiss. This woke Serena up , who saw Ash over her.

"Morning." Ash said.

"Morning." Serena said. The two got up and dressed. After having breakfast they made their way over to Sycamore's lab. Over the last 5 years, the professor had made much progress in his research. Ash and Serena had regularly allowed the professor to study one of their pokemon in their mega evolved form.

He also acquired another 3 assistants, Cheryl, Todd, and William. After walking inside they saw William organizing some papers.

"Morning William." Ash said. William turned and saw the two enter the lab.

"Ash, Serena. Good to see you two again, the professor is in the enclosure." William said.

Ash and Serena went inside the elevator and rode it up to level 3. Inside the enclosure, Sycamore was standing beside Clemont and Bonnie. In front of them were the 3 Kalos starters.

"So Bonnie who do you want?" Sycamore asked.

"Hmm, it's a tough choice. They all have good qualities." Bonnie said. Moments later Scyamore heard someone else enter the enclosure. He turned around to see Ash and Serena walking over towards them.

"Ash, Serena." Sycamore said.

"Morning professor." Ash said. Clemont and Bonnie turned when they heard their friends' names.

"Ash, Serena!" Bonnie shouted as she ran over to them and hugged Serena.

"It's good to see you too Bonnie." Serena said.

"Clemont, how goes the gym?" Ash asked.

"It's going well, I've gotten to battle dozens of trainers every month. Plus I've gotten lots of inventions done." Clemont said.

"Yeah and now only 8 out of 10 of them explode." Bonnie said.

"So how's Shauna doing?"Serena asked.

"She's doing well, she's at the pokemon center with right now. After Bonnie picks her pokemon I was going to spend he weekend with her and her parents." Clemont said.

" So you haven't picked your pokemon yet." Ash said.

"Nope, I'm not sure who to pick." Bonnie asked.

"Well maybe I can help you." Ash said, he took a deep breath and read Bonnie's aura. he then read the aura of the 3 Kalos starters. From what he saw, Bonnie's aura had similarities to one of them.

"You know Bonnie, I have a good feeling about the Froakie." Ash said.

"Really?" Bonnie said.

"Yes, I think you two would be a good match." Ash asked. Bonnie walked over and knelt down in front of Froakie.

"What do you think Froakie, do you want to come with me?" Bonnie asked.

"Froak!" Froakie shouted as he smiled.

"Alright I want Froakie." Bonnie said.

"Looks like you have your trainer Froakie." Sycamore said as he handed Bonnie Froakie's pokeball.

"I saw your match on tv yesterday Ash. Very impressive, Tyson is a very skilled trainer." Clemont said.

"Thanks Clemont, beating him was no simple task." Ash said.

"Did you hear that Laura made it into the elite four?" Serena asked.

"I did, I can't believe she actually did it." Clemont said.

"Wait a minute I almost forgot! Ash come with me!" Sycamore shouted as he rushed out of the enclosure. Ash and the others followed him to a phone as Sycamore dialed in a number.

"What's going on?" Ash asked.

"You'll see." Sycamore said. Moments later none other than professor Oak appeared on the screen.

"Professor Oak?" Ash asked.

"Ash my boy, there you are." Oak said.

"Professor it's good to see you." Ash said.

"Good to see you too my boy. I've been meaning to congratulate you on making it into the NPC. That is quite a feat, only incredibly skilled trainers are allowed to compete in that."

"Thanks professor, I have gotten a lot of good experience from battling there." Ash said.

"Exactly what I wanted to talk to you about. You see you've become such a good trainer over the last 5 years and I've learned of an amazing opportunity here in Kanto." Oak said.

"What is it?" Ash asked.

"A member of the Kanto elite four is planning on retiring soon and the Kanto champion is going to have to pick a replacement." Oak said. Ash felt his heart beat. There was going to be an opening on the Kanto elite four.

"Daniel asked me to inform you about this and that he's coming to Pallet town in a few days. He told me that he wants to consider you for the position and that if you come that you might get a recommendation from him." Oak said.

"A recommendation, from Daniel!" Ash thought to himself.

"If you're interested please get here as soon as you can. Besides it would be nice to see you again. Goodbye hopefully I'll see you soon." Oak said before the call ended.

"Woah, a chance to be recommended for the Elite four. Ash are you going?" Clemont asked.

Before Ash could say anything , Serena answered for him.

"Of course he's going. I'm not going to let him miss out on an opportunity like this." Serena said.

"You're ok if we go to Kanto?" Ash asked.

"Of course I'm fine with it. I know how much you want to make it in the elite four, this is a big opportunity and you have to take it." Serena said.

"Alright! We're going to Kanto! We should probably get home and see if we can get seats on a flight." Ash said.

"Good luck Ash, I hope you can get that recommendation." Sycamore said.

"Daniel will give it to you, he knows how good you are." Clemont said.

"Yeah good luck Ash!" Bonnie shouted.

"Thanks guys, and good luck to you Bonnie." Ash said.

"Bye!" Bonnie said as she and her Froakie waved goodbye to Ash and Serena. Twenty minutes later Ash and Serena had returned to their apartment building where Ash was checking the computer for flights.

"Alright looks like we could get on this flight. It would give us 2 days to." Ash started before they heard a knock on the door.

"Ash, Serena." A familiar voice said. Serena opened the door to see none other than Ash's parents.

"Delia , Felix. What are you guys doing here?" Serena asked.

"Looking for you of course." Delia said. Serena let them inside as Ash got up can came over.

"There you are Ash. We're sorry we couldn't see your match yesterday." Delia said.

"It's alright." Ash said.

"Well we came over here because we were wondering if you two were busy in the next few days. We were planning on taking a trip to Kanto and were wondering if you wanted to join us." Felix said.

"You're going to Kanto. Well that's convenient, we were also planning on heading to Kanto." Ash said.

"You were going to Kanto. Why?" Delia asked.

"Apparently there's an opening in the Kanto elite four coming up and Daniel is currently in Kanto. I was planning on heading to Pallet to meet him so I can ask for a recommendation from him." Ash said.

"Really, how exciting. You could actually be on an elite four." Delia said.

"Well I'm glad your trying at such a young age. Many great champions joined the elite four at just about your age." Felix said.

"So why are you guys heading back to Kanto?" Ash asked.

"Well it's been a long time and we were planning on spending some time with Red and Korrina. Were were hoping you'd finally come with us." Delia said.

"Red." Ash said. Ash had not seen his brother in almost 3 years. After Red won the Kalos league 5 years prior he spend more time doing work for the Lumoise guild. However, he didn't stop there. After a few months he and Korrina decided they wanted to be full time aura guardians.

Korrina gave the position of Shalour city gym leader to one of her students and spent most of their time on assignments for the Kalos brotherhood.

When that happened, Ash and Serena saw those two less and less. Three years ago Red and Korrina heard that there were far more opportunities for young aura guardians in the Kanto brotherhood.

They both decided to move to Kanto and join the aura guardian brotherhood there. Felix and Delia occasionally made trips to Kanto to see them. However, Ash had spent so much to his time training and competing that he hadn't gone to see his brother.

It wasn't the only reason though.

"Well, I guess we all could go together since we both need to get there." Ash said.

"Oh thank you Ash. We already have seats for you on the flight. It leaves tomorrow." Delia said.

"Wow thanks, what time?" Serena asked.

"7:00 at the Lumoise international airport." Felix said.

"We'll be there." Serena said.

"Alright see you in the morning." Delia said before they left. As they day went on and the two packed, Serena tried to think of the best way to talk about Red.

"So, it'll be nice to see Red and Korrina again after all this time." Serena said.

"Yeah I guess." Ash said. Serena had gotten a bit concerned for Ash. Him having not even spoken to his brother for almost 3 years.

"So when we get there we'll meet up with Red and." Serena started.

"Actually we should head to Pallet town first. We don't know how long Daniel is going to be there." Ash said.

"Oh right, that'a good point. But we are going to see Red right?" Serena asked.

"Yes, we will." Ash said without much excitement. Serena hoped that Ash and Red seeing each other again would help them rekindle their relationship. It wasn't good for Ash to be so estranged from his own brother.

Pikachu was also excited that he would get to see Red again. Like Serena, Pikachu had also been concerned for Ash and Red's relationship.

The next morning Ash and Serena arrived at the Kalos international airport where they met Ash's parents.

"Ah there you two are. Come on, we need to check in our bags." Delia said. Ash had take off his hidden blades and placed them in his check on bag. Felix had also done the same.

Ash and Serena had also left most of their pokemon with professor Sycamore. Ash was only brining Pikachu and Charizard while Serena was only brining Absol, not wanting to have to separate Delphox and Zoroark.

After checking their bags in and going through security, the 4 boarded their airplane and sat across from each other.

"This is so exciting. I haven't been to Kanto since summer camp" Serena said.

"It will be nice to be back in Kanto." Ash said having not been back there for 6 years.

"Attention passengers we'll be taking off soon. Please fasten your seat belts." The flight attendant said.

An hour later as the plane flew over the ocean. Serena, Delia, and Pikachu had all fallen asleep. Felix was reading a journal written by an aura guardian from the age of Vaeron.

Ash looked down at Pikachu who was fast asleep on his lap, before looking out at the ocean from the window. Ash felt truly excited for what awaited him. He would soon be back at his home region, where he would see his brother, professor Oak. The world champion pokemon trainer, and have a chance to enter the elite four.
