Hey it's been ages but here it is, all mistakes are my own and I own nothing.
Kagome was proud of herself for not letting her shame show as she leaned on Draco for support. She scowled as her step faltered again. She tightened her grip around his waist with a hiss as pain shot through her leg again. She could feel the confused and smug glances they were getting. The Higurashi heir was too weak to take care of herself after a minor battle. She grit her teeth.
"Do you want to rest?" He asked, though he could guess the answer because of the anger radiating off of her. He took the glare she directed toward him as the answer he was looking for. And he secured his arm around being careful of her arm in a sling. He knew from experience how it felt. "Do you at least want to slow down?"
"No, I'm fine. I don't need to do anything except for visit the goddamn doctor." She sniped and that marked the end of the conversation. But she paused after feeling a spike of magic in the air. She held her shoulders proud while pulling herself away from the blonde.
"Is there something I can help you with?" She asked voice laced with ice. Draco watched as teen aged demons and humans emerged from the alley they had just passed. Their looks ranged from scrappy with clothes with many patches or the fabric worn thin to someone that rivaled his elegance.
"Well if it isn't the littlest Higurashi, what are you doing out so cut up. If we didn't know any better, we'd say you have a death wish." The group cackled, some standing at their full height, eyes menacing. Before Draco could pull Kagome closer, away from these people, she pulled away from his side. Her stance confident as she shrugged of her coat, and handing it to him. He took it with some hesitancy but before he could voice his concerns, she spoke up.
"You're all pathetic." She said coolly summoning a sword in her left hand. "I could kill all of you right now, consider my condition you're only handicap." With a growl they all attacked.
Draco was surprised that she wasn't kidding. She was able to dispatch half of them with a single swipe of her sword. Their bodies smashing into surrounding buildings before crumpling to the ground blood seeping out of horrendous gashes. She continued to hold the others off but he noticed that when she stepped back she rarely put weight on her injured leg causing her to be slower. However, she was still able to deflect and block any attack sent at her.
"Draco, what happened?" He heard from behind him, he turned to see Snape who had his wand out ready to battle.
"I don't know, they came out of nowhere." He defended. Snape had been walking ahead of them before and he had lost sight of him earlier.
"And you let her fight in her condition?" The older man demanded face set in a scowl as Kagome cut down another one of her opponents.
"I didn't have a choice in the matter." Draco defended himself but he turned his eyes back to the fight and bit back a gag. She was taking care of herself just fine, if the blood staining the road was any indication. Some congealed, some still running as if to accentuate the damage. He was snapped out of his trance of the sanguine liquid by a feminine boot stepping into his vision. He followed it up only to be encased in alarm at Kagome's disheveled appearance. She flashed him a smirk but her eyes looked drained. And why was blood dripping from the corner of her lip?
"What's wrong Malfoy, you look like you've seen," She didn't finish as she fell forward into his chest. He held her close in an awkward hold, turning his concerned grey gaze to his mentor.
"What the hell happened?!" Kagome didn't even flinch she just continued to stare at the hospital walls. They had painted it recently, she noted as her mother paced the room still furiously ranting.
"I was challenged, I fought, I won." Was all she said.
"Do you how this makes me look, us?" The older woman stated exacerbated.
"I was already on thin ice with my lord, I might as well be drowning." She paused to glare at her indifferent daughter.
"You must derive pleasure from my suffering." She huffed when she didn't receive a response. Her attention snapped to the doctor as she entered.
"When can she leave?" She demanded.
"She can leave after she drinks this." The female doctor placed a vial on the table beside the hospital room. Before the doctor turned an annoyed glance at the teenager. "I thought only partially healing you would make you take it slow until you fully recovered on your own. But what can I expect from your family." Kagome grabbed the vial, swinging it back with one gulp. She winced at the tasted and make a miming gesture for water.
"If you want water, you shouldn't have brawled in the streets like a common thug." Her mother snipped only to growl under her breath when the doctor brought her daughter the liquid.
"Thank you, Takahashi-san." Kagome said placing the cup on the table before jumping off only to hiss and collapse as her leg gave under her. She gripped her leg biting back her cry of pain.
"The potion will set it later today, so please take it easy or next time you'll be in the hospital until I deem you fit to leave. And it wont' be a brief stay" The doctor threatened as the younger stood up gingerly, not placing much weight on her injured leg. "Paperwork is at the front desk." Was all she needed as she strolled out of the door and down the hall ignoring the groans of agony surrounding her. Even stepping out of the reach of someone so wracked with pain, they were searching for any form of comfort. She paused surprised that Draco was sitting in the waiting area. He looked at her and she felt her breath catch. She diverted her eyes keeping them trained on the ground as she dinged the bell on the reception desk.
"Hello Higurashi-chan, how can I help you?" A nurse asked peeking from behind her tower of paperwork.
"Can I get my release papers?" She asked leaning on the desk, not looking at the nurse.
"Sorry but," She was cut off as Ku Loon dinged the bell much to both of their annoyance.
"Silly child." Was all the mother muttered before making a 'give me' gesture at the other woman. Ignoring the glare she received as the paper was smacked into her hand. Grabbing the quill beside the bell she scribbled her name on the line before pushing it towards the nurse. Who took them and gave it a stamp.
"Now, you're free to go,Higurashi-chan." The nurse said with smile before disappearing behind her paperwork.
"Find your own way home." The matriarch snipped before strutting off.
Kagome flinched when a hand clapped on her shoulder. She turned her head to look at the offended. She relaxed her shoulders when she was it was just the blonde. Without thinking wrapped her arm around his waist leaning most of her weight against him. She felt a light blush dust her cheek at the warmth his arm radiated as it wrapped around her.
