A/N: This is what I've always wanted to write. I promise I'll finish this no matter how long it takes because I know how annoying it is when a fanfic is half finished…
Anyway… enjoy!
Disclaimer: I sadly do not own PJO, HOO or HP.
Chiron stared at the nine demigods. Percy, Annabeth, Piper, Jason, Hazel, Frank, Leo and Thalia stared right back. Nico simply scowled at the ground moodily.
"You're probably wondering why you're here." Chiron said.
"What's the problem? What is it now?" questioned Percy, eyes darting around the room nervously. He could swear that every time he went in the house, he just came out feeling worse than before.
"Nothing wrong!" Chiron reassured him, "Just a surprise."
"A good one… or a bad one?" Annabeth asked.
"Good!" Chiron replied nervously, "You're going on holiday! To the UK!"
Leo cheered. Percy's shoulders relaxed and the atmosphere in the room lightened considerably. Only Annabeth had detected the trace of anxiety in Chiron's voice.
"Chiron…" she started, "What's the matter? Where are we going exactly?"
"Well," Chiron said hesitantly, "have you heard of witches and wizards?"
"Those people with funny hats and cats?" Leo said, "Sure!"
"Well," Chiron stated, "They exist."
The half-bloods gasped. If they hadn't heard stranger things, they would never have believed it. But, then again, they had heard stranger things.
"Your job is to go to Hogwarts, a school for magical folk, posing as second-years. It'll be like a holiday! You don't have to do anything. There's just this one evil wizard named Voldemort. He can't know about our world. Just make sure that doesn't happen, and when your seventh year there is over, we'll whisk you back and turn you to your current ages again. You'll just have extra memories. Hecate has blessed you with magic."
Nico raised his eyebrows. "So, we're gonna have to be turned back into twelve year olds?"
"Pretty much," Chiron admitted.
"Ugh." Thalia muttered.
"You'll spend the summer holidays in a small cottage near Hogwarts, with Coach Hedge as your supervisor." Chiron finished.
"DIEDIEDIE!" yelled Hedge, storming into the room.
Everyone grinned. Even Nico managed a small smile. Waving goodbye to Chiron, there was a sudden flash of purple, then they were somehow teleported to a beautiful cottage. After one look at each other, Percy and Annabeth fell to the ground, laughing.
OOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO
A few weeks later, they were all ready to go shopping. When they reached Diagon Alley, they were all tongue-tied. Witches and wizards wandered around, shouting and chatting. Jason went straight to Quality Quidditch Supplies and seemed glued to the brooms, which he unfortunately wasn't allowed to have. Annabeth sprinted into a huge shop named Flourish and Blotts while Nico muttered about how colourful it was.
After collecting their supplies, they went to gain a wand. Ollivander's seemed like the only option. Shrugging, Coach Hedge led the children into it. The shop seemed abandoned. Without warning, there was a sudden voice.
"Hello," rasped Ollivander.
"Umm… hi," Percy said.
"Ah, this is interesting. I suppose you need wands," said the man.
They all nodded.
"Piper McLean, how about you first?"
The demigods inhaled sharply. How did this man know her name? Nevertheless, Piper stepped forward. While a measuring tape measured from her height to the space between her eyes, the old wandmaker asked for Piper's wand arm. She assumed he meant the arm she wrote with and stuck it out.
After a few minutes of snatching and swapping wands, she was united with a wand of aspen and unicorn hair. A similar process was followed by the others, apart from Jason, who found his wand of dragon heartstring and blackthorn, and Nico, from whom all the wands seemed to dislike, apart from his new elder and heartstring wand. Percy ended up with a wand of cedar and unicorn hair, Leo with dogwood and phoenix feather, Annabeth with beech and unicorn, Frank with larch and unicorn, Hazel with (ironically) hazel and unicorn and Thalia with laurel and phoenix*.
After thanking the man and paying their money, the nine raced over to the Magical Menagerie. Percy picked out a beautiful little turtle while Annabeth started talking to a cute little barn owl. Hazel went for a Siamese cat with sapphire-like eyes and Frank plumped for a shiny toad with knowing eyes; Piper smiled over a perfect, fluffy cat with huge sky eyes – Jason grinned at his eagle owl. Even Nico allowed himself a small grin at his bony rat. Leo settled on a bright red magic owl which was fireproof. Finally, Thalia selected a bold ginger cat whose fur seemed frizzy enough to have been electrified.
All set and ready to go, they trudged back to their house.
