Chapter 3 Alpha

There is nothing like the scent of fresh forest air in the mornings. My pack has developed well over the last couple of months. We currently stand at about twenty adult fighting and 15 younger members now in the pack that we have decided to name us the death pack as when you join there is no going back and For the enemy that named came up will the name well let's say they are felt the full meaning of the name we were given.

"Alpha the hunting party has returned." Snow said as she entered my cave.

Man what I can say about snow other than wow. I mean that she is strong, caring when it comes to our young and, Beautiful. Man is she pretty Just thinking about her makes my tail wag. She just is so great her Snow white fur with the red highlights just gets me going and makes my want to be a better alpha and leader in the pack.

"That is very good Snow." I said Rising from my sitting position. "How much Food were they able to capture?" I asked her knowing our food reserves were running a little low due to the amount of new wolves we have become a member of the pack recently.

You see we only a take in those wolves that are exiles or abandoned because of Snow and I's situation we don't want any wolves to have to go through that type of pain if we can help it. We except all wolves whether its normal, shifter or a werewolf nobody deserves to have the problems we did.

"Well Timmy and the hunting party were able to bring in six bucks, ten rabbits, and a squirrel." Snow said head headled high but lower than mine out of respect.

Ah good old Timmy his real is Timber the first Wolf to join our pack. We found him alone as a pup in a cave freezing to death after his family was killed by humans I thought with disgusted at the thought of humans. They are such rude creatures that have no love for the environment or those of us who live here I hate them and their gods who allow this all to happen to our home.

"Good very good that should be enough to get us to southern california for the winter I feel like this winter will be more harsh than the last couple and I fear for the young ones life if they are left out in the open cave or no cave." I started to Snow as I knew she would have the others ready to go move on my order. " Speaking of the young ones how are they coming along with their growth." I asked her as she is in charge of the younglings development in Knowledge as well as skill as we don't want any stupid wolves in the pact.

"They are progressing very quickly some should be ready for their first hunt by the time of winters end the others will need more time. Harley's puppies should be coming any time now with any luck they will come before the first snowfall." Snow told me with worry in her eye at the timing of the birth of the litter.

That is not good I thought as I continued to pace around the cave. The snowfall would be upon us soon and with it's coming it will be much harder to trail the path back to our winter resting grounds.

"That does complicate things but we will not leave our pack members behind no matter how big or small. so if we must then we will wait for her to be ready to move with the puppies." I said in my alpha tone which nobody in my pack would dare question.

As I turned to look as Snow I saw her I eyes wolf those blue eyes were shining with admiration and thankfulness my decision to not move the pack.

"Thank you Alpha you are the best leader a girl could ask for." she said as she ran around me with her tail wagging. Then she stopped right in front of my face and looked right into my eyes. I feel like she was looking right into my soul and I was looking into hers.

"Snow can I ask you a question." I asked as I moved in a little closer so that only inches separate us.

"Yay" she said back to me not moving an inch from my approach on her.

"I was wondering if maybe you would like to…" At that moment a war howl was heard in the distance.

"What the heck is going one a out their?" asked Snow as she bounded out of the cave as fast as she could.

Great I thought to myself. I finally get the guts to ask Snow out and we get call to a the front of the camp. I mean come on how many times do I have to try to ask her before I don't have something bothering us at the time. I guess I could just make her my mate but that would be abusing my power as alpha and I don't want to start a relationship like that. Plus, I'm all for the equal treatment of girls and boys but I will have to take a mate son at the way the pack is growing to avoid fighting between the fathers of the eligible alphas they have as daughters. I pushed the thought aside and ran out of the cave towards the war howl.

Line Break

When I finally got to the front of the perimeter I saw a Group out wolves that numbered in the thirders. My their Physical marking they seem to be a fairly young pack with the leaders being older maybe five veterans battle in the whole pack and by yhe look of the Scars they are carrying it was one heck of a battle.

"What are you doing on our lands my friends?" I asked them as their alpha finally came forward.

He was a hulking brute of a wolf maybe three foot 4 inches with a muscle all over his body. To be honest he looked like a walking Tree he was that bulky.

"You sir are invading the territory of Backers pack." he said getting up in my face trying to intimidate me but I knew it wouldn't work on me because I'm an alpha as well.

"We were just passing through when we stopped because one of our females is close it giving birth and we need somewhere to rest and hunt for food." I told the Alpha trying to defuse the situation a quick as possible.

"Well isn't that very entertaining reason for entering another packs territory without permission" he said as he began to circle me with cold analyzing eyes. "but unfortunately for coming into my territory I will be taking your pack after I defeat you and I will have a Pack strong enough to beat lupa herself." He said.

At the sound of my Mothers name I became enraged. I couldn't his words. I was so aggravated by his assumptions that I was weak and he could just take my pack from me. NO I will fight him for the right of to have my Pack as the dominate pack.

" I challenge you to a one on one duel for Top Alpha Position!" I yelled.
