As she sat in her apartment trying to focus on the book in front of her, she heard a knock. She was sure is it was yet another 'gift' from Logan, one of his many attempts at trying to buy her forgiveness. She walked to the door rather annoyed at the thought of yet another bouquet of flowers that were going to further irritate Paris. Once the door was opened and the person on the other side was revealed, Rory was sure that she was hallucinating. It was clear she wasn't when he uttered those fateful words, "Hello Mary." Her first years of Chilton started rushing through her head, from her first dance, to Madeline's party, up until the night of the play. She really had thought she had seen the last of him. Not that that's what she wanted, in fact she wanted the opposite. She wanted nothing more than for him to kiss her that night and magically convince his father to let him stay. She would have gladly broken up with Dean because that relationship had become very one sided. The fact the she continued to let it drag on so long after that night is almost shameful considering she would have given it all up that night for him to be able to stay with her. Of course she hadn't realized any of this in the moment but only realized it the night of the dance marathon where she could finally see how wrong she had been about everything and how that kiss on the piano bench was the beginning of the end for her and Dean, the second time anyway. Then suddenly a delivery man with more flowers showed up breaking the blue-on-blue staring contest. She sighed taking the flowers and invited Tristan in.

His heart was pounding as he climbed the stairs, not to mention thinking about how on Earth a Gilmore wound up living in a place like this. He finally reached the door and as he stood in front of it, he kind of hoped he had the wrong apartment building because he was now second guessing every decision he had made that led him to this door and to her after all these years. He must be crazy to be tracking her down like this and she would probably think he was pathetic and even worse, she could still be dating that bag boy. She didn't like him in high school, why did he think she'd like him now? He took a deep breath and reminded himself that he had done so much to improve so he could be the kind of man she deserved, and although he wasn't perfect he had come pretty damn close. And with that he knocked because it was now or never. He could tell she confused when she opened the door, so he helped her out by adding a simple, "Hello Mary." With that he saw it click in her eyes and once his eyes locked with her eyes, he was so taken in by how she had only grown more beautiful over the past 4 years. He was so lost in her beauty that he hadn't noticed a delivery man walk up behind him. He did however, notice her apparent annoyance at the flowers she had just received. Upon invitation, he stepped into her apartment and could see why. He started racking his brain as to why someone would send her that may bouquet of flowers, she never even seemed like the kind of girl to like those kinds of fancy flowers, especially not to be showered with them.
