Robin x Lissa

From the first time she had laid eyes upon him, she was captivated. What began as purely physical attraction blossomed into something much more….

"Robin! Chrom's looking for you again!" Gaius shouted from across the crowd of people surrounding the camp fire that separated him from the tactician. Robin's attention turned from the book he was nose deep in up towards the young thief.

"At least, that's what Lissa told me." Upon hearing that, Robin smirked and shut his book, setting it down upon his seat as he stood. Lissa, the princess of the realm and dear sister to Prince Chrom, his best friend. But she was more than just that, she was also Robin's lover with whom he formed a strong bond upon adventuring together.

The first time they had kissed was in total secret while still traveling with Chrom and Frederick in the wilderness. The prince and his advisor had fallen asleep whilst Robin stayed awake by the fire reading and keeping watch. Unbeknownst to him, the princess was awake as well, watching him intently from her sleeping bag. They had only been traveling together for a couple days heading back to the capital, but they had already become extremely open with each other and friendly.

"You're more than welcome to come join me, Lissa." Robin said as he brought his gaze from his book to the girl. She had been found out. The embarrassment of being caught staring caused her to at first shy away into her sleeping bag, bringing her face down so her mouth and nose were covered under the protection of the make shift blanket. There was no harm in joining him now that the gig was up.

"How did you know I was awake? You didn't look at me once." She spoke in a hushed tone as to try and not wake her brother and the knight sleeping just on the other side of the flames. Robin smiled at Lissa as she walked over and sat next to him. It was a nice way to warm up on a chilly night like tonight being close to someone you have feelings for.

"I'm on first watch of course. I have to be aware of our surroundings. I couldn't let anything happen to your brother or Frederick….and especially you." The final part made Lissa blush and look away in embarrassment, a gentle smile forming upon her face upon hearing those words. It was so strange that she felt so comfortable around a man they had only known for a total of four days. Those soft puppy dog brown eyes of his, gentle smile, his calm voice and kind demeanor….everything about him attracted her.

"Robin, you're too sweet to me- to all of us. It makes me worry how you ended up in that field. Someone as kind as you is easy to be taken advantage of in a time like this when cutthroats are everywhere. I just thank Naga every day that we happened upon you when we did. Meeting you has been a blessing," her hand left her lap and found its way to his upper thigh. "and I hope that whenever you do find out who you are, you can still stay with us. Having you around is...oh I don't know how to explain it." Her voice trailed off. The words were hard to find and it was even more difficult to try and explain how she felt without being too forward with the man.

Upon feeling Lissa's hand resting on his leg, Robin placed his hand over hers and gently stroked the back of it with his thumb.

"I thank you for the kind words. I assure you, no matter who I may be or where I might be from, I will stay with you and Chrom. I feel as though this is my place, by your side." Lissa turned her head to face the young tactician only to be met by his gentle eyes and a happy smile staring directly at her. The next few moments seemed like they went by on auto pilot and she didn't know what exactly happened that made her do it, but before any other words could be said, her lips were locked on his. By the time she realized what was happening, she couldn't break away. It was as if Cupid himself had shot her point blank and all she could do was mentally jump for joy as the kiss deepened until eventually Robin pulled back.

"I-I'm sorry Robin, I shouldn't have-"

"Lissa, you needn't apologize." He said with a light giggle. His hand now gripped hers as he twisted about to interlock his fingers with hers. "If I didn't want to kiss you, I wouldn't have sat there like a lovestruck puppy." The princess smiled and nodded her head in acceptance. This was almost too good to be true. The first time she had ever had feelings this strong for someone and they had been reciprocated. Was this what it felt like to be in love?

"You should go lie down again. Chrom is next on watch and I don't know if he would be too thrilled to see us like this…at least, not right now anyway." Robin said, looking over to the prince who had rolled on his side so his back faced the two young lovers. Lissa smiled up at him, taking in his facial features while he was turned away. He really was quite the handsome man.

"I suppose that's a good idea. Tomorrow we should be back in the capital so that will be a relief to be indoors again." She said as she felt his hand pull away from hers. She meandered over towards her sleeping bag and lied down, covering herself under the blanket's shroud.

"Good night, Robin." The princess said as her gaze left his figure and she slowly closed her eyes. 'I really hope that when I wake up, this isn't all some crazy dream. I can't wait to wake up to you again, Robin.'

"Good night, Lissa."

With that said, Chrom formed a smile before continuing to feign his sleep.

That was the first time and since then there have been many more kisses and secret nightly encounters. It usually began with Lissa tracking Robin down in the night or luring him to her, telling one of their other comrades that Chrom needed him or she needed help with something miniscule. That was their only time to really get away from everyone and enjoy each other's company.

Robin traversed the campground bobbing and weaving between passerby's on his path to meet with his dream girl. It felt as though his pace quickened the more his heart beat increased with anticipation and before he knew it he was nearly at a jogging pace. Finally he had reached "Chroms" tent where he threw open the flap only to be assaulted with a pair of arms wrapping themselves around his neck and drawing his head down into a pair of moist lips. Instinctively, his arms came around the girl's frame and pulled her into his chest as they pressed lips harder against each other.

Lissa pulled back and stared intently up at the tactician. "I missed you Robin." She said as her face formed a smile. She rested her head on his chest as they stood there in each other's embrace, taking in each other's scent and warmth.

"I missed you too, Lissa. So what "mission" does "Chrom" have for me this time?" He said with a stifled laugh while resting his chin atop the girl's head. He could feel Lissa's body share the same vibrations of laughter in his grasp. These secret missions had been going on nightly ever since that first kiss months ago and had only grown in passion.

The young girl shut her eyes and breathed heavily, hesitating to continue.

"Well I….I umm…" she bit the lower part of her lip, her face turning beat red and heating up. Robin looked down at her taking in her beauty.

"I want to spend the night with you…" she said in a near whisper, as if someone else would hear her request. Robin froze for a moment. Spend the night…together? In the same bed? He was sure no one knew about him and Lissa as of yet, but this was quite the risky situation. Although he may be a tactician, first and foremost he is a man.

"Lissa," he swallowed. "I would like nothing more than to hold you while we dream together." The tactician examined her face for a reaction which was different than what he expected- she seemed surprised.

"Oh gosh! I didn't think you actually would agree to such terms!" She cried out in joy as she lifted her legs into the air causing Robin to arch his back slightly in order to support both their weight. She was rather short compared to him, standing around 5'3 to his 5'9 but with a toned build like hers it was still enough to throw his balance off momentarily.

The young princess dropped back to the ground and grabbed the man's hand leading him over to her sleeping area. As part of the royal family, her tent was a little more extravagant than the rest of the armies. It even dwarfed Robin's in size.

"Jeez this is more like a portable house than a tent." He joked while lying down on the make shift bed, propping himself up on his elbow.

"Chrom likes to make sure I have enough privacy and space to myself. A girl can never have too much privacy or space! Frederick usually sets up our tents first." She said while standing in front of the full length body mirror just off to the side of the area they would be sleeping. Robin watched intently as the girl let her blonde locks free of their restraints, falling to her mid back. What came next caused the man to shyly look away, as the girl slipped out of her dress and into her small clothes. The term small clothes was more than applicable in this scenario, one would never guess the young princess was as "boingy" and gravity defying in certain areas.

Lissa turned around to face Robin, her arms crossed beneath her breasts.

"I-it's your turn." She looked slightly downward in embarrassment. This was after all the first time she had been so exposed to him or any man for that matter. Robin was frozen at the moment, caught in a trance that only Lissa's request could break. His eyes were so stuck on her he nearly missed what she had said.

"Right I guess I should take these off." With that the young man stood from his propped position and slid off his robe. Lissa's eyes lit up as she watched her love begin to disrobe right in front of her. She smiled as his under shirt came off and gasped at his toned physique. When did he have time to work on his body ever? It was chiseled and defined in all the right places.

Her hands had a mind of their own as she closed the gap between them and traced her right hand from his belly button up his stomach, finally coming to a rest on his chest.

"I never would have guessed someone who spent nearly all their free time reading was this fit." Her eyes still traveling across his upper body. Robin smirked and found his own hands had begun to explore Lissa as well.

"Lon'qu and I spar every once in a while. In order to best him I have to keep myself in peak shape."

"Well it certainly shows darling." She responded. Her eyes finally broke away from the man's body and met with his eyes. This is what she had dreamt about for a long while. It seemed almost too good to be true.

"LISSA!" A woman's voice shouted from outside. Who would be bothering her at this time? The sudden voice caused both of them to jolt in a panic, with Robin quickly diving under the sheets. The dim light of a single lantern was all that illuminated the tent and hopefully it was enough to keep him hidden out of sight.

Nowi poked her head into the tent as Lissa stood with her arms covering her chest.

"I was about to lay down for the night Nowi! What is it?" Her voice obviously annoyed, however Nowi just stared at her with an innocent smile.

"I just wanted to see if you were still up." The manakete's eyes dropped down to the garbs on the ground. Robin's robe caught her attention rather quickly. "So…is that Robin hiding under the covers?" She asked, cocking her head to the side and maintaining her smile. Lissa's mouth dropped open and her eyes got wide. Within a matter of moments she had grabbed Nowi's cheeks and pulled her into the tent and sat her down at the foot of the "bed" where Robin's feet were. With them found out, Robin sat up from the sheets, his head dropping low.

"Nowi, you CANNOT say a word to anyone about us. If anyone found out about Robin and I…I don't know what my brother or Frederick would do." Lissa's expression was a mix of embarrassment and urgency. God's the last thing she wanted to deal with was an angry brother.

"Hey hey hey! I won't tell anyone. My lips are sealed. Besides, I already knew about the both of you. You guys aren't the only ones who go meandering in the night together." The dragon gave a quick wink. Robin lifted his head to chime in.

"How long have you known?"

"Long enough. You guys do realize Chrom knows too right?"

"HE WHAT?!" The couple said in unison. Chrom KNEW? How did he know? Lissa grabbed Nowi by the shoulders. Now was a good a time as ever to begin the interrogation.

"How does my brother know? How long did he know? What has he said about us?!" Each question came out in rapid fire. Panic mode was engaged and the princess's mind was racing from terrible scenario to terrible scenario. Nowi chuckled and held a fist up to her mouth to try and stifle her giggle.

"Relax Lissa. Chrom is actually very happy. You see, it's pretty obvious you two are infatuated with one another. Every day you give each other that 'look' from across the room. You are practically glued to each other on and off the battlefield. It's obvious silly!" The manakete smiled again. Maybe finding all this out wasn't such a bad thing. Robin let out a heavy sigh of relief. Tomorrow he was going to have a long talk with Chrom and this time it was not going to be about strategy. Lissa glanced over at Robin and gently placed her palm on his shoulder.

"Well, Nowi, if what you say is true, then…I guess we shouldn't have to worry about being so confidential all the time. Maybe we were a bit too obvious huh?" The tactician said with a faint smirk. Nowi continued to just smile at the two.

"No worries guys. I like seeing you both together. It makes me happy. Now, if you don't mind, I need to go try and catch some fireflies!" With that, the girl stood up and headed out of the tent. Robin and Lissa both made eye contact and paused for a moment before both erupting into a fit of laughter. Had madness taken over them? Nay, just the joy of having a weight off their shoulders. If Chrom knew then they needn't fear their affections for one another.

Both parties soon found themselves lying next to each other as the laughter subsided, staring lovingly at one another's face.

"Lissa, if Chrom knew this whole time about us, then I shouldn't have to hide this anymore." The man fidgeted under the sheet until his hand exposed itself, clenched tightly. Lissa's eyes stared downward and went wide when the tactician revealed his gift. A beautiful ring.

"Robin, what…what is this? Are you pranking ME this time?" The princess wrapped her hands around his, bringing her eyes back to meet his.

"No, I promise this is no prank. I-I want to marry you. I've wanted to tell you for a while but I wanted to make sure that Chrom knew about us before I asked." His face began to run red and hot. Who would have known that expressing love for someone was so nerve racking. It felt as if his throat was going to close at any moment as he choked out his words.

"Robin, " the girl smiled so large it looked as if her cheeks would tear. "I've loved you since the very beginning. Since finding you in that field, I was captivated by you. When we kissed for the first time, I thought maybe I had been dreaming of your existence the whole time." She kissed him before continuing. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you." The girl rested her forehead against his and closed her eyes. 'Please don't wake up Lissa' she thought.
