Hello, long time. I'll be posting this across all the updates. Some are shorter than others but I am hoping to get back into the running of things. The last year or so has not been easy for me and I did sink to a low point. Most of the writing I had, I deleted because in the bad times, I thought it wasn't good enough. Here is an update and hopefully see you soon.

Thank you for all being so patient and for the reviews.

You have may have to stretch you belief with technology for this one but I've watched some stuff about robotics. It's scary how quickly we're advancing.

Enjoy and all mistakes are my own

Five years later

Garcia enjoyed the feeling of the sun warming her skin as she laid out the cloth over the picnic table. Everyone was coming to the park today to welcome back Reid and Ethan back from their road trip. Ethan had offered to accompany Reid and help in a few lectures that Reid had chosen to give. They had decided to go on a road trip too and their last stop had, of course, been Ethan's favourite city, New Orleans. Emily had given her blessing knowing that soon Ethan and herself would be busier than ever when the baby arrived. After their time protecting Reid, they had decided to follow the connection they both felt with each other and give it a chance.

They'd been married for three years and their little one was due in a month's time.

A giggle caused Garcia to look up. Morgan was tickling their one year old son. Their sweet little Hugo. Morgan was a wonderful father and while their deep friendship had taken a while to blossom to what they had now, she was thankful for the love she shared with him everyday. They had never married. They had never felt the urge. Garcia knew what they had transcended a ring.

JJ and Will remained wonderful parents to Henry and Michael while Hotch watched his son proudly excell at school and life. Rossi spent a lot of time with his daughter and grandson these days. Blake and her husband had adopted an eight year old boy two years before after Blake had felt a bond with him and a need to keep him safe after everything he had endured. He was now a thriving ten year old who adored his parents.

"That cake recipe you gave me turned out great," Emily smiled as she removed a tin from the basket she had brought. "I hope Ethan and Reid get here soon. The baby is kicking like crazy."

"He or she is probably excited her or his daddy coming back," Garcia said gently. "The others might be a bit late. JJ text saying Michael is being a little monkey, Blake and Hotch are stuck in traffic and Rossi had to meet with his publisher before coming here."

"We have plenty of time today," Emily sighed happily before leaning down to pick up the cooler.

Garcia batted her hands away. "No heavy lifting," she admonished before picking up the cooler.

"I see two beautiful women," a voice called from behind them. They turned and both grinned at the sight of Ethan and Reid walking on the grass. Ethan jogged quickly to Emily and kissed her deeply. "I missed you so much."

"We both missed missed you too," Emily said, touching her bump and kissing him back.

Garcia rushed forward and wrapped her arms around Reid. "There is my baby boy."

"One of them anyway," Reid chuckled as he hugged her back. "It's great to be back.

Coming away, Garcia noticed Reid's new short haircut. "I love your new do."

"I like your polka dot bow," Reid said.

"Thanks, I just-" Garcia began before she stopped. "How did you know I had a polka dot bow?

A huge grin spread across Reid's face. He reached up and took off his sunglasses. One eye had a dark patch over it while the other had an orbital implant that was different to his usual one. "You look beautiful, Garcia."

"Oh my god," Garcia gasped as she reached out to the picnic table to steady herself. "C-can you see me?"

A small joyful laugh escaped Reid. "I didn't have lectures and we didn't spend all out time on a road trip. I've been helping fund a small research project for a few years. It's really complicated to explain the technical details but they managed to produce a bionic eye that can be attached to the optic nerve. My eyes were destroyed but that thankfully remained untouched. I've been planning to have it put in for a while and needed time to recover. This is a experimental prototype. I provide data for them and they allowed me early access. I wanted this to be a surprise for you all. It's just one eye and I can see you in black and white."

Garcia had no words as she watched Reid collapse his walking stick. She couldn't stop the tears of joy and reached her hands up. She let out a gleeful giggle causing him to do that same. "I'm so happy for you, baby boy."

"I take it you told her," Ethan said as he walked over with Emily.

"What?" Emily asked with a puzzled expression.

Reid reached out and stroked her black hair. "You're glowing. I can see you."

"He wanted it to be a surprise," Ethan explained as Emily gasped. "The new eye allows him to see and their is a solar/battery powered charger under the eye patch which wirelessly charges the eye providing him with sight."

Emily reached up and took his face in her hands to get a better look. Reid reached up and held her hand. "I can't wait to see the baby."

Reid turned to Garcia. "Can I see Hugo?"

Garcia nodded quickly and grabbed his hand, she pulled him over to Morgan and the baby.

"Hey, kid," Morgan greeted before realising that Garcia was shaking slightly. "What's wrong?"

Reid knelt by the blanket Hugo was laid out on, he reached out and held the baby's hand. He let out a shaky breath before looking up at Morgan. "You have a beautiful son, Morgan. Just perfect. It's nice to see you."

Morgan opened his mouth but only managed a small squeak of surprise.

"Something will fly in there if you keep it open much longer," Reid joked. "It's a shock, I know. I was a mess when they first turned it on. I wanted it to be a surprise."

Morgan surged forward and brought Reid into a comforting bear hug. Reid chuckled and hugged Morgan back. Morgan brought Reid away and held him by the shoulders. "I'm so happy for you but I could kick your ass for not telling me."

"I'll tell you everything but later. I just want to enjoy seeing you all today. I never thought I would be able to see and he didn't win, Morgan," Reid said shakily before touching under his eye. "He didn't win."

Hugo cooed causing them to both to look down and laugh. "Can I?" Reid motioned.

"Yes, go for it," Morgan urged.

Reid reached down and picked Hugo up, sitting him on his thighs and delighting in the fact that Hugo squealed happily as he bounced him up and down. Morgan saw delight in every movement from Reid.

Reid looked up at Morgan. "I can't wait to watch him grow up."

"I'm counting on you to help him get into a top college," Morgan smiled as his eyes teared up.

Reid shook his head gently. "Don't cry. Today is a happy day."

Looking around at everyone, Reid knew that their was much more happiness to come. "I hope the rest of the others get here soon. I can't wait to see Henry."
