AN: I had come up with this idea one day while I was reading stories written by "The Incredible Muffin", "CaptainRex75", and other authors who wrote similar stories. I had wanted to try and write my own Avengers and Code Lyoko story for a while, but I couldn't think of an idea on how to write either one until I came up with this idea, effectively allowing me to write both at once.

I'd give the full version of the summary now, but this chapter pretty much does that on its own as it explains how everything in the story will get to where it will be. Now that all of that is said and done, let us begin what is effectively the first Code Lyoko&Avengers EMH crossover...

I do not own anything from either the Code Lyoko or MARVEL franchises or any other franchise mentioned in this story.

Prologue

Though it was still early sunset, the sky was so dark that one would think it was night, and with the added addition of the rain that was pouring down, it also gave one an infectious, miserable feeling that only came about when something terrible had happened. In truth, this is exactly the case for two such individuals who were currently sitting in a secret underground laboratory in an abandoned factory. One of them was a young man with brown hair and matching colored eyes who was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, and a dark green army jacket, all of which was torn and shredded and through which one could see a number of cuts and bruises. The other was a girl with pink hair and green eyes, who wore a purple, knee-length dress, light pink quarter leggings, and dark pink boots, and like her male friend, her entire outfit was in a similar state of disrepair, but neither one of them were concerned about that at the moment, as the boy was simply doing his best to console the girl as she cried her eyes out.

These two are Ulrich Stern and Aelita Schaeffer, the last of the unsung heroes that were known as the Lyoko Warriors. The reason for their shared misery though was one that none of them would have ever expected. Years ago, back when they were still kids attending a boarding school known as Kadic Academy, the two Lyoko Warriors and their friends had thought that they had defeated their greatest enemy, X.A.N.A., but sadly the demonic artificial intelligence had somehow survived, simply lying dormant for years as he regained his lost power and then some. It was not until most recently when they were about to finish high school that X.A.N.A. finally revealed himself to them, and that was when things had begun to go very wrong.

X.A.N.A. had found a way to give himself form in both the virtual world and the real world through a massive robotic body and the moment he appeared at the graduation ceremony, he had started to kill everyone in sight, starting with the friends and loved ones of the Lyoko Warriors. All of Ulrich's family was gone along with those of his friends, but they could not stop and mourn the loss, as they had to act fast to stop X.A.N.A.. That was when the true pain had begun, because the moment that they started to head for the factory to get to the only thing that could stop X.A.N.A., the monstrosity had noticed them and fired a powerful energy beam which struck their friend and the team's leader, Jeremy Belpois, dead on. Jeremy only had a moment to relay one final order and tell Aelita that he would always love her before he died in the pinkette's arms.

Seeing that their old foe would destroy them if they made anymore moves to try and leave, Odd Della Robbia immediately turned to face XANA alone as he told the remaining four members of the group to go on without him. Ulrich had tried his hardest to get Odd to stop and come with them, but his old roommate was not going to hear any of it and immediately charged in, leaving Ulrich's girlfriend, Yumi, and their friend William to drag both Ulrich and Aelita out of the area while Odd tried to fight against the monster that had killed their families and friends. The last thing any of them heard from Odd, was a loud scream of pain in the midst of an explosion.

They all did their best to keep moving, but they were soon cut off by an entire army of robots similar to ones that Odd and Aelita had encountered in one of their final missions as Lyoko Warriors. Ulrich had wanted to stand his ground and fight so that he could have some form of revenge for the loss of his friend, but Yumi had immediately thrown him and Aelita into the secret passage to the sewers and told him to just take Aelita and run while she and William dealt with their attackers. Ulrich did not have any time to argue as a minute later, Yumi was stabbed through the back by one of their robotic attackers right before all of their eyes. Yumi was only able to hold on just long enough to tell Ulrich the same message that Jeremy had given to Aelita before she fell limp and dropped to the floor, and William only glared at the monsters who had done the deed before he slammed the door to the passage shut and blocked it off as he faced them himself, saying that he would meet Ulrich and Aelita at the factory later.

That was hours ago, and it had only taken Ulrich and Aelita a few minutes to reach the factory and the laboratory inside of it and then reactivate the supercalculator. Knowing that it had been so long told Ulrich and Aelita that William had joined the rest of their lost loved ones in his attempts to at least slow down X.A.N.A., and since it seemed that they were safe for the moment, it ended up being the final straw that broke the camel's back and caused the tears Aelita had been holding back to come pouring out like a tidal wave. Ulrich had wanted to join Aelita in her sobbing so much, but he knew that he had to be as strong as possible for the poor girl's sake, as she had lost both her parents, her boyfriend, and all of her friends now all because of X.A.N.A., so he needed to be there for the girl he had always considered to be a little sister.

"Why Ulrich? Why did it have to happen like this? Why couldn't that monster just stay dead," Aelita moaned as she continued to sob into Ulrich's shoulder.

"I wish I had an answer for you Aelita. Believe me, I do, but right now we need to finish what they all started. We can't let all of their sacrifices go to waste," Ulrich stated as resolutely as he could, but Aelita could still hear the sadness in his voice that indicated he was doing his best to not break down and cry alongside her. Ulrich then held Aelita's shoulders as he looked her in the eye and asked, "Are you sure that you want to do this though? There's no going back once it starts."

Aelita stared at Ulrich for a moment before she dried her eyes with her sleeve and gained a determined look that Ulrich always knew the girl had when she was about to soar into action on Lyoko and replied, "Yes. This is our only chance now. Besides, at least this way we'll see the others again soon enough."

Ulrich nodded to the girl as he stood up and guided her to the computer console in the center of the lab. As soon as Aelita was seated in the chair that Jeremy had so often occupied on so many past adventures, she began to type up a series of command codes that she had once thought she would never enter into the supercalculator that her father had worked so hard on in order to keep the two of them safe. She was almost through with her work when the whole complex shook under an explosion, and Aelita was quick to bring up the security feed to see what had happened. She only needed a glimpse to see what the cause was and softly stated, "He's here."

Sure enough the large robot that was now the physical form of X.A.N.A. was storming into the factory and headed straight for them. Ulrich was about to go and try to buy Aelita some more time, when the girl stopped her typing and grabbed his arm as she whispered, "Please don't leave me too."

Ulrich's gaze locked with Aelita's and he nodded to say that he was not going anywhere, and with that reassurance Aelita let go of her friend, of her brother, and resumed finishing her work. Aelita had just finished and activated the program when the wall to the boiler room exploded and revealed X.A.N.A. himself. He was about as tall as the robot he once sent after Ulrich and the others during the robot competition that Jeremy had participated in and had a head that was just like it as well. The rest of his body was the same as his multiple robotic foot soldiers with the exception of the large jetpack on his back whose pointed wings were currently extended downward in an upside-down v-shape, and the additional weapons that were housed in his shoulders, arms, and even hands. The final touch was the large, blood red emblem that was worn by all of his forces on his chest, completing the look that gave him the appearance of the monster he had always been.

X.A.N.A.'s blood red optics settled on the two as he stated in a deep, robotic voice, "Human life forms Ulrich Stern and Aelita Schaeffer located. Identified as last remaining Lyoko Warriors and the last of Waldo Schaeffer's legacy. Threat level: Minimal, but proceed with caution and eliminate with extreme prejudice. Termination: imminent."

"Keep telling yourself that pal," Ulrich stated as he assumed a fighting stance. Just then, a loud beeping was heard from the supercalculator and Ulrich looked to see a countdown on the screen reaching its final stages.

"Warning. Extreme energy build up in supercalculator detected. Explanation: unknown."

"Let me clarify for you then," Aelita snarled as she turned to face the monster that had brought so much misery into her life since she was still a child. "I've set the supercalculator to self-destruct, and it will destroy everything and everyone in the factory and the lab as soon as it blows. Including you."

"Irrelevant. Option of escape into the network is still open to my continued existence," X.A.N.A. argued as he tried to interface with a nearby network connection.

"Don't bother. I've closed off any connection to every network that the supercalculator has access to. You're not going anywhere but where you belong in hell," Aelita smirked in triumph.

"Illogical. This action would terminate your existence as well and make the end of your friends' and loved ones' existence so that yours could continue to be in vain," X.A.N.A. argued.

"Hate to break it to you X.A.N.A., but humans aren't logical. I would've thought you had learned that by now," Ulrich smirked triumphantly. "We're going down fighting to the end, and we'll take great pleasure in knowing that we're taking you with us."

The countdown for the self-destruct then hit zero and began triggering the explosions all throughout the complex as Aelita gave X.A.N.A. one last final statement. "Game over you bastard son of a bitch!"

It was not even a few seconds later that the factory, the laboratory, the supercalculator, and all of those inside of it vanished in a massive explosion along with a large amount of the area that was around the complex and the island it sat on. The following day, rescue workers and government personnel were out at the site only to find nothing left among the remains at the epicenter of the explosion. Not even any bodies, human or robotic.

A small amount of light shone down on Aelita's face and caused her to stir from her sleep for a minute , but the young lady did not want to wake up just yet as she was far too comfortable in the soft bed she found herself in. At that point, Aelita began to realize something was wrong and immediately bolted upright to be greeted by a shocking sight. Much to her surprise, Aelita was sitting in her old room from the home she and father lived in when she was a little girl, the Hermitage, and the room was in perfect condition. Not a single sign of disrepair or damage that Aelita had come to establish with the old, ruined house, and while Aelita was happy to be in such a familiar place, it did not change the fact that something was very wrong with her situation.

Aelita knew that the last thing she remembered was standing in the laboratory as the supercalculator self-destructed along with Ulrich and the monster that had taken everything from them, and at the thought of Ulrich, Aelita immediately sprang from the bed and bolted for the door, worried about what had happened to her brother-like figure. The minute she stepped through the door though, she found herself, not in the upstairs hallways of the Hermitage, but in Ulrich's old room from Kadic Academy. It was just as Aelita remembered it from those old days aside from the absence of Odd's dog, and as she took it in, she immediately noticed Ulrich lying on his bed, seemingly asleep.

Aelita immediately ran over to him, only making a minor note of how he was still dressed in his torn, ruined clothes like she was when they had apparently sacrificed themselves to destroy X.A.N.A., and immediately began to shake him as she half-shouted, "Ulrich! Ulrich wake up!"

Ulrich moaned groggily for a minute until he finally opened his eyes and bolted up in the bed just as Aelita had done a minute ago. Ulrich only looked around for a minute at his current surroundings before he asked the pink haired girl, "Aelita, what's going on? Why are we in my old room, and why does it look exactly like it did back when Odd and I were living in it?"

"I'm not sure, but I just walked here from my old room in the Hermitage, and not only was it in perfect condition, but I literally stepped through the door and into here," Aelita told him. She then paused for a moment before she asked, "Ulrich, do you think we're dead?"

Ulrich moved to stand up slowly before he winced in slight pain from the injuries he gained when he had stopped to force away some of the few of XANA's robots that they had encountered after parting from William as they made their way to the factory and replied, "Well if I can still feel pain then I'd say that no we're not dead."

"You are correct in that regard my young friend," a deep voice echoed into the room. Ulrich and Aelita were immediately on guard as they looked around for the source, only for Aelita to jump back in shock as she spotted a pair of glowing yellow eyes looking down on them.

Ulrich was immediately in front of Aelita as he demanded, "Who…or what are you and what do you want with us?"

"Greetings Ulrich Stern and Aelita Schaeffer. Do not worry, I mean you no harm. Though I understand if my current form gives you reason to fear me, so perhaps I should assume a more familiar appearance," the voice replied as he put Ulrich and Aelita further on guard as he announced the fact he knew who they were. A minute later, the eyes vanished and in their place came the form of a tall man with dark colored hair and a goatee and the same yellow colored eyes who wore an extravagant silver suit that covered every inch of him save for his head and his collar."I am called, the Beyonder, and I am the one who brought you both here."

"So are you here to be some kind of escort into the next life or something," Ulrich asked, still a bit unsure about this "Beyonder" person.

"No, for as I had previously stated, you are both very much alive. Behold," the Beyonder stated as he gestured a hand into empty space. Instantly, a strange window appeared that showed the image of the destroyed factory and what had happened after they had destroyed it as the Beyonder explained, "Your efforts to defeat the one you call X.A.N.A., appear to have succeeded, but when I saw that you were willing to sacrifice your lives, I felt the need to step in and save you."

"Are…are any of the others…" Aelita asked with a small amount of hope in her voice.

The Beyonder simply shook his head sadly as he stated, "I am afraid that even my power, despite how great and vast it may seem to be, has its limits, and as a result I was only able to save the two of you."

"Why," Ulrich whispered. He then turned an angry glare to the Beyonder as he demanded, "Why would you do that?! We were willing to sacrifice ourselves so we could stop X.A.N.A. and join our friends and loved ones who had already died because of that monster! Why would you save us and deny us that peace?!"

"Because it was not yet your time Ulrich Stern," the Beyonder replied. "I have watched the two of you and your friends as you faced the evil that was X.A.N.A., and I knew that no world could stand to lose all of one Earth's champions of good, not while there was still a chance for you to do something for another world."

"What do you mean by that," Aelita asked as she edged closer to Ulrich.

"Allow me to explain from the beginning," the Beyonder stated as he gestured to the window once more as it showed his history. "Many years ago, at least from my perspective, my companion and I happened upon an Earth that was similar to yours in our travels through time and space, and we took great curiosity in it and its many strange concepts and ideas, but none more so than your concepts of good and evil. As we continued to watch, our curiosity brought us to decide to truly test which was greater, and so we began what came to be known as the Secret War, as we pitted some of that Earth's greatest champions of evil against one who we had come to recognize as its greatest champion of good. After allowing him to gather allies and become their leader, we witnessed each of these 'heroes', as you would call them, overcome many odds and triumph in the final battle against the evil forces, even when it seemed that one of them had found a way to steal and harness my power. Sometime after this Secret War had ended though, I found myself greatly weakened by the strain that my powers placed upon me as I had used them far too much outside of my home dimension, and I was forced to return there so that I may rest and regain my lost strength."

"Is that where we are now? You're home dimension," Ulrich asked as he finally relaxed his guard.

"Not exactly. This is merely a realm between dimensions as it would be far too dangerous for me to bring you to my dimension. As I recovered from my weakened state, I began to observe other worlds like that first one and found many similar to it in their concepts of good and evil, and even ones that were so different that they had their own champions of each. In one world, I found a young man who had become a hero at the mere age of ten Earth years after discovering a device that allowed him to transform into the many life forms that inhabited his universe. In another realm, I found a girl who had no special powers at all, and yet she was able to accomplish anything as she saved the world while still finding time for her social life and being what you call a cheer captain. In an entire multiverse, I saw humans in a future timeline that had created and piloted massive robotic machines in which they waged wars and among which were specialized machines that allowed ace pilots to end those very wars and other conflicts. The list of worlds and multiverses that make up reality that I had discovered goes on indefinitely for I am still discovering others, but one of the few worlds that truly intrigued me, was your own."

"When I first discovered your world and you, the unsung heroes of that world, I found myself intrigued by how you and your friends would always continue to fight on and live to support one and other in your fight against what could be considered the ultimate evil of your world. Despite what hardships you endured, what difficulties you faced, and what you had lost, you continued to fight on, always holding on to hope that you would succeed, even when you doubted yourselves. The two of you are by far the greatest examples of your struggles."

"Yeah and look what we have to show for it," Ulrich stated miserably. Aelita could say nothing as she simply hugged Ulrich sadly, to which Ulrich placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder in response.

"I know that this is a difficult time for you both, but perhaps it would ease your pain if you knew that even in another lifetime, your struggle against XANA was not so easily ended." Ulrich and Aelita looked to him in confusion as the Beyonder changed the images that were playing in the window once more to show Ulrich and Aelita still at Kadic and fighting against X.A.N.A. It was clear that these versions of them were still students at the boarding school and nowhere near the point that they themselves were at, but Ulrich and Aelita saw that these alternate versions seemed to keep going no matter what, even when they found themselves faced with a new enemy in addition to X.A.N.A.

They continued to watch until Aelita let out a small gasp as she saw the alternate version of her face a woman on a large, holographic screen through a video conference. A woman that Aelita immediately recognized. "M-mommy?"

The Beyonder smiled as he stated, "Yes dear Aelita, in another lifetime, you found out that your mother was still very much alive somewhere. Before you ask though, I cannot say whether or not this is true in the lifetime that you know for many reasons, but I can assure you that she is very proud of her little angel, just as your father is."

Aelita wiped her eyes once again as she wept tears of joy at seeing that in another life, she had a brief reunion with her mother and her friends were still alive. Ulrich smiled right along with her before he turned back to the Beyonder and asked, "Why show us this though? More importantly, why save us at all?"

"As I said before, it is for the sake of the future, and so that reality does not lose such great heroes as yourselves," the Beyonder explained. "I can give you another chance at life in a new world, one very similar to that first Earth that I had encountered years ago, and one more chance to be the heroes you were both born to be. That is, if you both wish for it."

Ulrich and Aelita both looked down as the former replied, "I'd hate to break it to you Mister Beyonder, but we're no heroes, and we were never meant to be. Maybe we were back when we were kids but that was a long time ago."

"Even if that were the case, then why would we ever want to be heroes ever again? After all that we went through fighting X.A.N.A., it was all for nothing. All our friends, our families, and our loved ones are gone. Without them, we're nothing," Aelita stated sadly as she felt tears coming once more as she thought of those she had lost.

"That is where you are incorrect my young friends," the Beyonder argued with a small smile. "You have not lost everything, because you still have each other. Many people can attempt to be heroes, but only few ever truly become heroes, and that is because that is who they are born to be, who they are destined to be. I have seen all of your struggles as you gained both knowledge and experience in your battles, and I understand how much you wish to just give it all up, for you are not the first like that. The one I had selected to lead the heroes in the Secret War had wanted to do the same many times himself, but he never did, because he knew better than anyone ever could just what came with the great power he held. Your experiences and knowledge have also granted you great power, and as my friend would always say, with great power comes great responsibility."

Ulrich and Aelita looked to each other as they considered the Beyonder's words. He was right to say that even outside of Lyoko they had many skills that some would consider being great power, but did that mean they could stand up and try to fight the good fight again after all that had happened? They just were not sure, and there was still something that needed to be made clear to them. "What exactly would happen if we accepted your offer to give us this second chance at life," Aelita asked.

The Beyonder smiled as he explained, "I would send you to the world I had previously mentioned that is similar to that world I first visited, and grant you new identities that would allow you to live in this new world. Whether or not you reveal the truth about your identities to others is entirely up to you, but I will also grant you each one final gift. I will grant you both the ability to call upon the powers you possessed in the world you know as Lyoko in real life, effectively transforming the two of you into metahumans. Whether or not you use your powers to take on the mantles of heroes again is up to you, but you will have these abilities should you ever decide to do so and for your protection. Should you refuse though, I will return you to your world, and you will live out your days as though you had miraculously survived that final encounter with X.A.N.A. The choice is up to you."

The last two Lyoko Warriors exchanged a small glance once more before Aelita turned back to the Beyonder and asked, "Can you give us a moment to think about this?"

"Of course my dear. When you reach your decision, simply call out for me. Before I take my leave though, I wish to give you these. I had just enough power to bring them from your dimension along with you." As he said this, the Beyonder held a hand out as two small portals opened before the two and through each came a small, elf doll that landed in Aelita's hands, and a small dog that immediately ran up to Ulrich as it barked happily upon seeing him.

"Kiwi," Ulrich exclaimed happily upon seeing the small dog that had once belonged to Odd, relieved that he had survived X.A.N.A.'s attack.

"Mister Puck," Aelita softly gasped when she saw her childhood toy that had been her constant companion for so many years. With his work done for the moment, the Beyonder vanished in a flash of blue and white light, giving the two a moment alone. Aelita and Ulrich happily hugged the toy and petted the dog respectively before Aelita turned to Ulrich and asked, "What do you think we should do Ulrich?"

Ulrich paused for a moment before he replied, "I don't know Aelita. I mean, it is tempting to go back home, but what is there left for us besides what's here right now? Maybe…maybe it is best that we go to this new world, get a new start for ourselves, and if we do end up being heroes again like the Beyonder believes we could be then I guess that we'll be doing it for the right reasons. I know that Yumi, Jeremy, and the others would want us to live on and honor their memory, but to be honest I'd rather do what you think is best. Whatever you decide, I'll stick with you right to the end, just like I always have."

At that point, Aelita could no longer hold back any tears and immediately ran over to Ulrich to wrap him in a tight hug as she cried into his shoulder once more as she muttered, "Thank you Ulrich. I…I love you brother."

Ulrich gasped slightly, realizing this was the first time that Aelita had actually referred to him as brother like this, and only smiled as he let some of his own tears fall at last and returned his sister figure's hug, knowing that they would have reached their decision soon enough.

Sometime after her little episode of tears and much thinking, Aelita had reached her decision, and then called out, "Beyonder. We've made our choice."

A mere instant later, the Beyonder appeared in the same flash of light that he had disappeared in. "I am glad to hear this, but are you certain that you have made your decision," the Beyonder asked.

Ulrich looked to Aelita who merely nodded to him with a look of certainty on her face, and he then stepped forward as he replied, "We are."

The Beyonder smiled and then gestured for them to tell him their decision, and Aelita spoke up saying, "We accept your offer to send us to a new world so that we can start over in a new life for ourselves."

The Beyonder's smile seemed to grow a bit wider as he nodded and replied, "I am glad to hear this. Now if you are ready, I can begin the process of granting you your new powers."

"Wait. There's one thing I want you to do in addition to all that if you can," Aelita interrupted. Seeing that she had the powerful being's attention with this, Aelita took a deep breath as she asked, "Could you please make it so that Ulrich and I are brother and sister? Not by blood, but by adoption or something."

The Beyonder seemed to consider this for a minute before he replied, "If that is what you wish, then I can indeed make it so that you will become his adopted sister." Upon seeing Aelita's nod in thanks, the Beyonder then extended his hands once more, and the two Lyoko Warriors were soon enveloped by a blue light as their transformation into metahumans began. A few minutes later, the light faded and the two found themselves kneeling down on the floor as the Beyonder stated, "It is done."

Ulrich and Aelita looked themselves over for a few seconds until Ulrich finally stated, "I don't feel any different. Are you sure it worked?" He then noticed a strange gold and brown colored digital watch on his left wrist, and upon glancing at Aelita's wrist he saw that she too had a watch just like the one he had except for the fact that it was colored pink and dark purple. "What's with the watches?"

"They will act as a device for your protection should you decide to become heroes again, and provide a way to help you in channeling your new powers. As for why you do not feel different, your powers will simply take some time to manifest before becoming fully active. Whether or not this happens and you decide to use them to become heroes again, is entirely up to the two of you, but know this young Lyoko Warriors, there will come a moment when you will feel the need to try and help your new home in any way you can. All I can tell you beyond that is to simply be ready for when there comes a day unlike any other."

Before either of the two could ask what the Beyonder meant by that, the powerful being simply waved his hand and the last Lyoko Warriors vanished once again in a flash of blue light, off to their new home, and their new adventure.

Ulrich and Aelita awoke a few moments after their little trip to their new world to find themselves in the middle of a vast jungle, and they could not help but wonder why the Beyonder would send them to the middle of nowhere of all places. As they continued to wonder this, Kiwi started barking at something, and before Ulrich could calm the dog down, a man in a white dress shirt, business suit, and black tie stepped through the trees with a small gun of some type out. When he saw Ulrich and Aelita he relaxed his guard a bit, but seemed to remain on edge as he asked, "What're you kids doing out here? This area's off limits to civilians."

Thinking quickly as Aelita ducked behind him, clearly getting scared of the strange man, Ulrich came up with a small story as he told the man, "I'm sorry sir. My sister and I are a bit lost. We didn't mean to end up somewhere we weren't supposed to be."

The man hesitated for a moment, almost as if he were gauging whether or not Ulrich was lying, and then finally put away his gun as he walked over to the two with a friendly smile as he replied, "That's alright son, but where are your parents? I'm sure they're worried about you."

Aelita immediately felt herself on the verge of tears again at the mention of parents as Ulrich lowered his head and said, "They're…they're dead along with all of our closest friends."

The man was clearly shocked at this news as he knelt down and placed a hand on Ulrich shoulder as he calmly stated, "I'm sorry to hear that. I can take you to a nearby facility to rest until we can arrange transport back to civilization for you, but I would like to know your names first."

Ulrich nodded as he said, "My name's Ulrich, and this is my sister Aelita." Aelita gave a soft hello to the man when Ulrich introduced her. Even after all these years, Aelita was still a little shy around some people.

"Nice to meet you both. I'm Agent Phil Coulson of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division." At Ulrich's blank look, Coulson simply said, "Just call us S.H.I.E.L.D."

Ulrich and Aelita only nodded in acceptance of this and then stood up to follow Coulson to the facility he had mentioned, the former only making a minor note of how the secret agent had tapped a communication device in his ear. In no time at all, they had reached the facility that looked like a large dome in the middle of a grassy field, but they were not alone, as other men and women in black or dark blue suits with a red badge that had the image of an eagle on it were around the facility, and it looked fairly obvious that the door had been blown open recently. Coulson immediately ran forward with Ulrich and Aelita close behind him until they were in the facility itself, seeing only two people inside, a man in a red suit and a lab coat with light brown hair and a dark brown haired woman that was wearing a yellow and black dress, yellow gloves and boots, black leggings and sleeves that left her shoulders bare, and a pair of yellow antennas on her ears.

"I guess you are okay. Never mind," the woman said as she walked up to the man and wrapped her arms around him.

"Jan, I'm fine, and sorry Agent Coulson, but you're a little late this time," the man told the woman and Coulson who had put away his gun once again. "Oh but I do need a favor. There's a couple of mercenaries out on the beach, I shrank them down, so could you just make sure the ants don't eat them? Thanks."

"Eat them?! Ewe," Jan and Aelita both gasped. Jan then turned to see Coulson in the doorway along with Ulrich and Aelita, and the man in the lab coat did the same thing a minute later, raising an eyebrow at Coulson asking the obvious question.

"Apologies for the intrusion Doctor Pym, but I found these two out in the forest on my way over here and brought them here until we could arrange transport for them back to wherever they're from," Coulson explained.

"Why couldn't you just call their parents," Pym asked.

Before Coulson could reply a young woman with short, shoulder length hair ran into the room with a small tablet calling out to the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. "Yes Agent Simmons," Coulson asked.

"I have the information you requested sir," Simmons replied in an English accent as she held out the tablet.

"Thank you Simmons," Coulson told her, accepting the tablet. He then looked to Pym as he told him, "Here's your reason right here Doctor Pym. Ulrich Stern and his adopted twin sister Aelita, two victims in a recent plane crash that happened a few weeks ago that was believed to have had no survivors until now. According to the reports, all of their known family and friends were on the plane as well."

Pym's eyes widened as Jan brought a hand to her mouth gasping in shock. Jan then asked, "So what's going to happen to them?"

Coulson looked from the two colorfully dressed individuals to the former Lyoko Warriors as he stated, "Hard to say right now, but unless I get a better option, I'll have to bring them into temporary S.H.I.E.L.D. custody until we can find a place to set them up in, since according to this they are both at least eighteen years of age."

Pym scowled a bit at this response, but before he could say anything Jan stepped in and asked, "Why not let us take them back to New York and look after them for a while instead? We could help them get setup with new lives a lot better than S.H.I.E.L.D. probably could, no offense Phil, and give them a calm environment so that they can have an easier time adjusting to their new situation after…you know…"

Coulson simply smiled at Jan as he said, "Normally I would say that it would be up to Director Fury, but in this case, I doubt he would mind all that much."

Jan smiled brightly in thanks to Coulson before she walked over to the two and said, "So anyways, I'm Janet Van Dyne, but my friends call me Jan. You're names are Ulrich and Aelita right?"

Ulrich nodded in reply as Aelita stepped forward as she quietly told Janet, "Thank you for offering to help us out Miss Van Dyne."

Janet simply smiled as she placed a hand on Aelita's shoulder, seeing the look in Aelita's eyes that told her that the pink haired girl was trying to hold back tears, and softly said, "It's no problem at all Aelita, and seriously it's okay if you want to call me Janet, or you know Jan. One other thing though, if you feel like you want to cry, it's okay to do so."

Aelita turned a teary gaze to Janet as she felt tears begin to sting her eyes again, until she could no longer stop herself. Ulrich had thought that Aelita had gotten it out of her system, but clearly Aelita's tears had not finished falling yet, and that fact was proven true as Aelita grabbed Janet in a tight hug and broke down sobbing, all while Janet returned said hug and rubbed Aelita's back while she whispered that it was going to be okay.

AN: Well there you have it, the premise for how the story begins. Ulrich and Aelita have been sent to the world of The Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes after losing everything and meeting the Beyonder, and are now off to start a new life with the help of Ant Man and Wasp, although you can bet it'll be the latter who does more helping than the former. In all honesty, I wanted someone from the MARVEL universe to make it possible for this to happen, and my options as far as I knew were limited to either Uatu or the Beyonder, and since the former has an oath of non-interference, I figured I'd go with the Beyonder.

Also, yes this version of the Beyonder is the same one from Spider-Man TAS, and he's from after the series finale, The Spider Wars: Farewell Spider-Man. If I didn't make that obvious enough then I'm straight up telling you now. Also, I hope you realize that I had the Beyonder observing other heroes of other franchises as well and not just MARVEL, so I dare you to try and name each one that I had him mention. You won't get any clues beyond the ones that were in the story though.

Finally, I didn't have Ulrich and Aelita arrived in the Avengers EMH timeline at the moment of the break out for multiple reasons, the most prominent of which being that they just became metahumans so they don't have an exact handle on their powers and I wanted to give them some time to adjust and deal with their situation. As for whether or not they'll tell Jan and Hank their secret about being from another world or that they'll have powers of their own, well you'll just have to wait and see. There's a whole lot of plans in place for this little number, and I hope that everyone will enjoy it.

Thanks goes out to "The Incredible Muffin", "CaptainRex75", and all the others who wrote similar stories for the inspiration on this story. You guys really rock with those stories and I hope you enjoy this one as I have yours. Now then, here's the preview!...

Ulrich and Aelita begin to adjust to their new lives in New York City with Janet Van Dyne and Hank Pym, aka The Wasp and Ant Man, and what better way to do that than by attending a party hosted by the resident genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, Tony Stark. Will this prove to be a simple, calm night on the town, or will something awaken inside of the last two Lyoko Warriors when Iron Man has to fly onto the scene? Find out in the next chapter of Code: Avengers…Chapter 1: Adjustment.
