AN: Funny little thing I thought of listening to Britney Spears' "Don't Hang Up". Don't kill me for this. Just add this to the list of weird little oneshots I post for this fandom.

DISCLAIMER. I do not own Wizards Vs Aliens. The show would not have gone as downhill as it did if I was in charge *looks pointedly at Phil Ford*.

"I'd never seen so many pieces of art in one place!"

"An art museum is hardly a new invention, Lexi," Tom replies, a smile on his face, as he perches on his bed, a bowl of popcorn balanced on his lap, phone pressed to his ear. He can practically hear her rolling her eyes at the other end of the phoneline.

"I've never been to such a place before. I have not been human for seventeen years, unlike some people."

"Even so, an art museum isn't exactly the most exciting place you could've gone."

"Have you ever been to an art museum?"

"Well...no," he admits. "But Benny has. And he said it was even more boring than watching the paint on canvas drying would have been."

Lexi sniffs in disapproval at the statement. There's a soft clattering noise in the background; she's bustling around in her kitchen, Tom realises. Probably making late-night hot chocolate.

"I'm surprised you took an interest in art. Isn't Nekross culture built on science and logic?" He stuffs a handful of popcorn into his mouth.

"That doesn't mean I cannot appreciate your human culture."

"Your culture too, Lexi. You're human too."

"Do you honestly think I would have forgotten this fact?" She switches something on with a sigh. "I have to go. I have to get up early to go to work."

"Alright." He tries to keep the disappointment out of his voice. Of course Lexi has to work. She has to keep a roof over her head, over Benny Junior's head. If she wasn't so far away, he could go and see them in person more often. A phone call is really all he can manage right now. He wishes it was more. He wishes he could always be with them, instead of sitting home alone. "I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay."

"Okay."

A moment of silence passes between them. "Well, hang up, then."

"You hang up."

"You hang up, Tom."

"No, you hang up, Lexi."

"You hang up!"

"You!"

"Fine!"

A pause. "Have you hung up yet?"

"No."

"Me neither."

"I noticed." She sighs affectionately. "You're not going to hang up, are you?"

"Nope. You hang up."

"You."

"You."

"For goodness sake!" She lets out a frustrated chuckle. "I will hang up."

"Go on, then. Hang up."

"I will. I am."

"Alright, then." He grins. "Love you."

"I love you too."

"I love you more."

"Says who?"

"Me. So I must be right. What happened to you hanging up?"

"You're impossible, Thomas Clarke!"

"Love you!" Tom calls down the phone as she finally hangs up with a click, a broad grin on his face.
