Sleeping Beauty

She never knew this, but when she slept she returned to her true form. Her pink hair vanished, her worried look disappeared; replaced with brown waves flowing down to her shoulders and a peaceful smile.

He slept beside her, but couldn't really sleep. She was so beautiful he just had to watch, even if it kept him up til the earliest hours of the morning.

A war was brewing outside, but that didn't matter when they were together. Nothing ever mattered when it was just the two of them… soon to be three.

He smiled as she groaned in her sleep, rolling onto her back. The blankets slipped past her belly to reveal a growing bump, and his smile broadened. He had never considered a child at his age, but it had happened, and after a stern talking to from Harry, he was delighted by the prospect of fatherhood. It was strange to think that in a world of danger a little flower could blossom in such a harsh environment.

She groaned again, this time her eyes flickering open. She blinked once, then twice, then propped herself on her arm. "Is everything okay?" she wanted to know, her face now a look of concern.

His smile only grew wider, nodding. "Everything is perfect," he whispered, moving a hand to brush away a strand of hair from her face. "Just perfect."

She returned his smile, kissing the hand which was still on her face. "I love you," she said.

He used his other hand to rub her growing belly. "And I love you," he replied, speaking both to his wife and to his unborn child.

This is only the second time I've written this pairing. I find it rather difficult to write, which is strange because I cried so bad when they died in the books. I like them as a couple, I just don't feel I can write them to justice, so I try to avoid (it may because there is only a short period of time regarding their relationship. I'm not sure). Anyway, butterfly, I hope you enjoyed it, and everyone else did to. I would love to hear all of your thoughts.
