"Isn't the Earth worth fighting for?"

Peridot reached her hand out to her girlfriend, expecting her to reluctantly calm down and realize that they shouldn't tear their home and their pumpkin child from this flawed but beautiful planet. Lapis looked down.

"I will not get caught in another war."

"Wait, Lapis! What about Pumpkin? Our family? What about me? I love you and you're just going to leave?" Peridot panicked. Lapis balled her hands into fists before turning to Peridot.

"If you cared about our relationship so much, you would've made the right choice. It's over Peridot. It's over." Lapis growled. "Think of me when your muddy planet is blasted to smithereens."

To add insult to injury, Lapis lifted the barn into a bubble and flew off with it, taking everything that was Peridot's. She was purposefully destroying the gem that she was supposed to love so much, just because she wouldn't leave the only home she's ever known.

She had feelings for both Lapis and Amethyst many months ago, and she thought she made the right choice when she chose Lapis. But she should've known how toxic and destructive their relationship would've become. They constantly fought with each other and broke things, scaring their vegetable child and causing Lapis to shut herself out from the world. She tried and endlessly tried to be there for Lapis no matter how upset she was, and in the end, it didn't mean a damn thing.

Their love was poison, and as Peridot would soon find out, Amethyst's love would save her.
