"Come on, just this once?" He was begging her now, leaning over to her. She scooted as close as she could with the couch's arm. At this point, she was trapped.
"Uzu, I refuse to drink that nasty beverage you think is so satisfying," She snapped, carefully eyeing the coffee cup in her husband's hands. She took a sip of her tea, before glaring at him again.
"Aww Satsuki! Like your tea is any better," He huffed, making a look towards the small cup in her hand, and she scoffed.
"Healthier than that black tar," She snorted.
"How 'bout this," He started, and she felt irritation run up her spine. He was being stubborn today, a day that she had no patience for such things.
"How 'bout we take a sip of each other's drinks?" He suggested, and her head whipped around to stare at him.
"Are you serious?" Her voice was hard and stoic.
"It'll just be one sip, nothing more," He acknowledged, and she let out a sigh.
"Alright, hand it over," Satsuki demanded, putting her hand out. Grinning, he passed over his coffee while she did the same with her tea. She eyed the cup, its strong aroma overpowering and uninviting. She looked back up at Uzu, and he raised the cup towards his lips. Inhaling, she brought the strong drink to her lips and sipped at it.
Another moment of silence and the both of them looked at each other.
"Not bad?"
"That was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted," She hissed.
"Your tea isn't any better, it's too hot and bitter," He chimed.
It was then the two of them burst into laughter. Genuine laughter, which in Uzu's opinion, was rarely heard from the stoic woman before him.
It was music to his ears.
Handing back each other's drinks, they resorted to cuddling on the couch, Uzu sitting next to Satsuki, wrapping one arm over her shoulders. He leaned over and pressed his lips to her temple. She sighed in contentment, loving the warmth that engulfed her…
