He tried to push the matter that tugged the corner of his heart as he laid waste over the enemy battalions. His sword slashed through their rotten bodies, emitting showers of black blood all over him. Battle was short, albeit the loss of lives of his people was higher than he expected. He turned his stallion over to inspect the battle grounds where Elven soldiers mourned the loss of their kin while they made the preparations to honor the fallen and to lay their earthly shells to forever sleep as their souls now have gone to the halls of Mandos. Lord Celeborn uttered a silent prayer to the valar, to receive the fea of the fallen and to heal what wounds that had implicated on the spirits of them. Yet even as he discussed the necessary details and plans with his wardens, he could not take his mind away from the strain his soul was feeling. Yet, the bond was still there, giving him the hope that everything was fine for now.

As moon rose over the distant mountains, silver moonbeams caressed the graves of the fallen while stars hid their shimmering faces in the grieving dark clouds. A lone nightingale lamented over the warriors fell, mingling with the faint sounds of hooves of the horses fading away, carrying the elven soldiers to another far away battlefield.

Meanwhile in lothlorien….

Lady Galadriel oversaw the evacuation of young elflings, and all ellyth who were unable to aid in the houses of healing. They were expecting the supply carts, healers, ellyth and young ellons from Imladris as now Lorien will be the safe haven to all who need aid during these difficult times. Imladris will be the hidden safe house for their people this time. She was delighted that Elrond saw the wisdom behind her plan. Lady Galadriel had another personal reason to contact with dwarves, thus she sent a message to the chief smith of Khazad-dum, requesting to prepare a mithril shirt according to the measurements provided. Indeed she knew it would look insane in the eyes of a dwarf but this shirt was not to for her sake. She wouldn't need a mithril shirt to keep herself safe, she never wanted one before, not now, not ever. But this was to keep her unborn elfling safe. She would protect her child no matter what price she has to pay for it.

It felt surreal that she was not alone in her skin anymore, that her body carried another life, growing in every passing second. That her body and fea was fully focused on to the growth and nurture this new life was nothing short of a miracle. Galadriel never thought she would feel this way about having elf lings. Back in Aman, she never wanted a life trapped in a marriage, serving behind the walls of a home, never having the chance to prove herself, her worth to the world. She sneered at ellyth who were so passionate about love, marriage and having elf lings of their own. "Then what?" she used to ask always, "Serving them your whole eternal life?". It was that fire in her that made her turn her back to the only home she knew then, to raise her sword against her father's people and to cross the ice. She always had a thirst to prove herself, to explore the unknown and to finally live a life to her terms, not being forced to obey but being equal to someone.

Celeborn, the prince of Doriath, the wise and poised Ellon had been the one to tame the fire in her. He had shown her that only she could quench her thirst. That she doesn't need to prove her worth to anyone. She was worthy of having everything not because her noble birth, but because what she stood for and who she really is. Ever since then, he had been her anchor in all the storms that came their way. Their marriage was a surprise to the most, and outrageous to some. But still Galadriel remember the smile Queen Melian had for them as she knew that prideful Artanis had finally found her equal in the prince of starlight.

And now after all that they went through, they have a hope, a little elfling of their own. Even the thought of being a parent was not on her mind for she was in denial so long, she had cared for younglings for many years now. But this child was her own, she could not give him or her away when things got out of her control. But she was sure of one thing, that Celeborn will be the best father for this child, that he will be there for her, and for their little elfling.
