Water.
"Boku of the Southern Water tribe..."
Earth.
"... In the eyes of the Spirits, you are from this day to the end of you days…"
Fire.
"... wed to Naruka Long of the Fire Nation."
Air
"May the universe be with you as your two lives adjoin."
My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace when the Avatar kept balance between the Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads.
"If only."
But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked.
"It's time."
Only the Avatar mastered all four elements. Only he could stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.
"We will meet again."
A hundred years have passed and the Fire Nation is nearing victory in the war.
"I do hope so. Ruka… "
Two years ago, my father and the men of my tribe journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the Fire Nation, leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe.
"I-I… Hadou-."
Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads and that the cycle is broken…
"Don't cry. Please, little sister, don't cry."
… but I haven't lost hope.
"Gyatso, he's here."
I still believe that somehow the Avatar will return to save the world.
"We don't have much time. We must leave. Now."
I still believe.
her story begins
Hello, readers! As of 10/1/18, this story is undergoing some serious rewriting. I started this fanfiction two years ago (maybe even three, I don't even know at this point) and, eek, I was definitely a little delusional back then if I thought what I was typing up was anything better than trash. I'm still probably not the best, but if I'm going to tell this story, I'm going to tell it the best I can and that mean going back and rewriting a lot of scenes. So, if the writing style changes drastically as you read, now you know why. At any rate, thank you for reading!
