100. Light
Sena idly strolled through his house. A look of nostalgia firmly in place. As he walked precious memories ran through his head. When he reached the side of his house, he say his darling wife dangling her feet over the edge, enjoying the setting sky.
"Hey Karin, mind some company?"
Karin chuckled lightly. "I suppose I can spare a spot for my husband", she said. Sena took a seat beside his spouse. Now the sky was glimmering a burnt orange. "It's beautiful isn't it?" A glimmer entered her eyes.
"Yes the sky is so bright, Karin."
The pianist shook her head lightly and said, "Oh, I'm not talking about the sky. All those years ago, when I was playing in that music room, I never imagined that I would build such a wonderful life with such a wonderful man." Following her statement, she entwined her hand in his. There was no blush, no embarrassment, but instead a welcomed warmth.
"Yeah. Looking back, if I hadn't been bullied that day, I wouldn't have ever met you. That's until the final game of the Christmas Bowl anyway. "
Snuggling closer to her beloved, she drank up his presence. "I suppose there's some good even in the most unpleasant of situations."
"Especially seeing how we bonded over our initial misery in American Football.
"Now look at you, all big and strong in the pro leagues."
"None of that sweetie. How could I ever compare to the illustrious pianist known in all musical circuits? Some would even say you're too good for me."
"And they would be silly and wrong. We're just right for each other."
"Amazing how different we were back then. I couldn't even be intimate with you without breaking out in nerves." The two shared a deep kiss with his just as amorous wife. Breaking off he said, "We had our ups and downs-"
"Like the whole breakup incident." Karin interrupted.
"But it was more than worth it", Sena finished playfully annoyed.
"Yes, every second of it, Sena. Then there's little Hikaru. Where did all of his energy come from?"
Her husband shrugged. Neither of them had been that energetic in their youth. But they wouldn't, no couldn't complain. He brought such joy in the house. From the moment he was first brought in to just that afternoon. The two leaned together even closer, their heat shared between them. Their breathes matched pace. Staring each other lovingly in the eyes they both said with the utmost honesty and tenderness,
"I love you."
Nested against one another, the married couple shared in the last light of the day as night overtook the sky. Sun or no, the spark between them would only grow in warmth. For their love was tempered and true.
There comes a time when every man and woman must take a plunge,
a dive into the oceans of tomorrow. In waters unknown, tides uncertain.
Those who take the peril know the truth.
Just below trials and tribulations are rewards unbound.
For there is a time for fears and a time for cheers.
Life can never stay unclear.
