Chapter 24: Encounter
How… How did he even begin to figure out what he was looking at? Now, Naruto was no stranger to the supernatural. After all, he had gone toe to toe with dark spirits, Vulcan, Wyverns, Werewolves and all other kinds of creatures that go bump in the night; creatures that decide they still wanna bump in the day too apparently as well. He was a damn Dragonslayer for Odin's sake; raised by a King Dragon, his father the ruler of his elemental class. So yes, Naruto Jericho Uzumaki was no stranger to oddities even by Earthland's standards. Yet, what sat before him on the coffee table in his hotel room perplexed him beyond understanding, though it really shouldn't. He'd seen someone like it before.
It was Happy. It-It was basically Happy. A tiger version of Happy who wore the pants of a martial arts gi tucked into martial arts slippers. However there was no way this could be Happy, as he was with the Firecracker and the rest of the team getting drunk at a beach resort. This cat's amber eyes were also sharp and focused, opposed to Happy's eyes which always seemed to be devoid of any substantial intelligence. Naruto also had to fight the urge to run his hands through its incredibly fluffy sideburns.
"So," Naruto coughed into his fist, "You're a... you're a talking cat?" The small tiger seemed to cock one of its eyebrows as a small smirk graced its muzzle. There was an exasperated sigh from the blonde's immediate right. He felt the weight shift on the bed he was sat on as long brown hair brushed against his cheek and fell over his shoulder.
"Great start, Whiskers." Came the voice of the person who was now kneeling slightly behind him on the right, also now leaning on his shoulder. Naruto tried to push down the feeling of retorting with a nickname. He wouldn't give her the satisfaction of it.
"Go to hell." He replied.
"Ooh, hit a nerve there?" Cana teased further, tucking a strand of her hair behind her shoulder. "Getting pissed Oberon?"
Naruto felt a vein pop in his temple. To hell with self control and being an adult. "Don't you have a bar to drink dry and embarrass the guild's name at?" He finished with a smug grin. Now it was Cana's turn to get angry.
"Fuck you!" She roared.
"Ooh, that was quite forward of you for once Cana. I wonder-" the man wiggled his eyebrows suggestively- "how long have you been holding that request in?"
Cana's cheeks began to paint themselves red, whether in righteous fury or searing embarrassment, the other two occupants of the room who weren't involved in this squabble were not sure.
"Shut the hell up or I'll shut you up!," the card mage angrily whispered back, putting her face mere inches from the Dragonslayer's. Naruto scoffed slightly.
"Oh yeah?" His smug grin turned into an easy smile and he cocked his right eyebrow. "You know, I'm starting to want you to make me." The two stared at each other for a few more moments, both refusing to break eye contact. The atmosphere between the two was broken by a still surprisingly deep chuckle.
"You know, you two probably should just screw. That way you can finally address the blatantly obvious sexual tension around you two." The cat finished with a breath before chuckling some more.
The two mages in question snapped their eyes back to each other before they looked in opposite directions just as quickly. Cana's whole face was pink as she hid it by turning her back to the other three whilst Naruto simply scratched his right cheek, both of which were the very slightest bit flushed.
"I-It's not…," Cana trailed off.
"It ain't like that, okay?" Naruto said, voice struggling slightly in embarrassment. Their reaction caused the cat to outright laugh, falling onto his back. Lucy, who had been silent this entire time, was was left slightly red faced at the whole exchange.
"How can such pervy comments come out of something so damn small?" she thought incredulously. Coughing again, Naruto regained his composure and locked eyes with the strange animal as it finished its laughter.
"Back to business though, what are you exactly?" he asked with a sigh. "I know someone like you, the same species I mean- well, I think at least. So what are you exactly?"
The small tiger-like cat sighed through his nose. "I'm sorry, I cannot tell you much. Only that my species is called Exceed and we're 'not from around here' so to speak." Lucy gave the small being a confused look.
"What do you mean by that exactly?" she asked. Naruto, still looking at the now identified Exceed, only turned his face in her direction slightly as he addressed her.
"He's from another dimension." This statement earned Naruto shocked looks from his companions and an impressed look from the cat.
"W-What?!" Lucy exclaimed, standing up from her seat besides the bed, "Another dimension?!" Naruto nodded.
"That's right." He replied.
Cana shifted her surprise from this cat, and apparently Happy's, origin to Naruto's knowledge. "How did you even know that?," she asked.
"Yes, how were you able to tell?" the Exceed also asked. Naruto's face contorted from semi-deadpan to slight strain as he began to speak.
"Well it's how the Ethernano in his body is flowing." Naruto's right hand suddenly lit up with the dark green energy of his element. "The element I fight with, 'Aura', is basically Ethernano that is so condensed that it takes a more physical form in our world than just the energy that flows through our bodies in the same way the electrical signals travel from our brain to other parts of our body."
"Wait-" Lucy cut in with a wave of her hand- "is that not just the same as how you use Ethernano to enter Sage Mode?"
Before Naruto could Naruto could answer, Cana beat him to it. "Nah Sweets, that's not how it works. You see, the Ethernano in the air comes right from the Ether in its rawest form, which is highly dangerous to most species if used, and then lingers in the air. Raw Ethernano is in everything around us, nature included; that's why most people just refer to it as Nature Energy. So, many species have evolved to absorb the Nature Energy in the air and then slowly convert it into the type of Energy we use to perform magic. However, Sage Mode is an augmenting technique that allows a user to bypass these dangers and for a short time merge the Nature Energy with the Ethernano already in the body. The end result is Sage Mode." Cana finished with a smile.
Lucy, though a bit bewildered, understood. "Ah, that's how it works?"
"Yeah," Naruto replied to his fellow blonde, turning to look back at his still aura coated hand, "Aura is just really dense Ethernano, not Nature Energy I utilised when I used to go into Sage Mode."
Cana frowned at this. "'Used to go into Sage Mode'? Why the past tense? Can he not use it anymore?" she thought in slight worry. Her thoughts were cut off as Naruto continued.
"Anyways, as the element I'm so in tune with is, in a basic sense Ethernano, it naturally boosts my sensory abilities tenfold; and that's without all the training I've done over the years on my senses," he said with a grin.
"Ah," Cana exclaimed, catching the three's attention, "If aura is just formed through super condensed Ethernano, that means you'd need a shit-ton of energy to pull off using it, right?" She waited for Naruto to nod before she continued. "Is that why the amount of Magical Energy you've had since we were kids is so abnormally larger than a normal person's?"
"Yeah that's exactly why. When Azmair was raising me he put me through a bunch of training techniques that would prepare my body to be able to change to be able to even store the amount my Ethernano would grow as I learned his Dragonslaying magic." Naruto clenched his fist as he turned his eyes from Cana and back to the Exceed, effectively dismissing the aura. "As I was saying though, my sensory abilities are good enough that I can kind of sense how the Ethernano in his body is flowing. It's flowing in a different way from ours, the same as Happy's does."
"Sorry, I don't mean to keep cutting in Naruto-san, but I'm confused." Lucy said with a grimace, the loads of information getting to be a bit much. "Doesn't every person's Ethernano flow differently? That's how mages, especially sensory mages like yourself, are able to tell people apart by just their Unique Energy Signatures, right?" To the celestial mage's surprise, Naruto shook his head.
"No, not like that. It's-" he scratched his whiskered right cheek again- "more like every single living being has Ethernano in their body, unless it is forever stripped away. They're born with it. What makes the unique energy signatures is that every living thing has different patterns in their energy. But the Ethernano from all creatures, humans included, on Earthland flows through the body's magical circuits in the same way."
Lucy made a face of understanding, filing all of this new knowledge away in her brain for her to use for the rest of her time as mage so she and improve herself. It was at this point that the Exceed finally spoke up again.
"I see, you can go past just sensing the patterns of a person's energy and even see it's flow; and that's all without a Kekkei Genkai. You are a very talented mage indeed." The cat finished, tilting his head back slightly to smirk at Naruto. The mage returned the smirk. Lucy smiled as she began to drink from the cup beside her.
"Hold on." Cana spoke up again. "Does that mean all these years you've known Happy was from a different world?"
"Yeah, pretty much since he hatched," the blonde replied without missing a beat, "Oh, another thing that may shock you: Mystogan is also from their world."
Lucy spat out the water she was drinking in shock and that revelation caused Cana to fall backwards off of the bed. "Mystogan-san is from another world?!" exclaimed the blonde. A few seconds later, Cana clawed herself back up onto the bed beside her longtime friend.
"How in the hell would you even know that?!" the brunette roared, "Mystogan is incredible at suppressing his magical energy, even when he puts us to sleep!"
Naruto shrugged his shoulders. "His missions take him across the continent a lot. I ran into him from time to time and I'd help out. While we fought together, I managed to get a feel of his Ethernano and lo and behold, his energy flowed the same way Happy's and this guy's does. He's actually a pretty nice guy and a good conversationalist once he starts talking." More than anything, Cana was floored by the fact of how nonchalantly Naruto was dropping these bombs on them.
"So you two met up multiple times these past few years, and he didn't even think to tell us when he knew we were looking for you?!"
"I asked him not to tell you guys," muttered Naruto. Now Cana was fuming.
"Why the hell did you tell him to keep his trap shut?!" She hissed. Naruto put his hands up in defence and leaned back slightly.
"Because it was a journey of self-discovery you dumbass, not team discovery." He huffed in exasperation. "Can you honestly tell me that if he had told you guys, you, Firecracker and Frostbite wouldn't have come to try and find me?"
Cana opened and closed her mouth a few times, before crossing her arms and grumbling to herself. Naruto sighed through his nose ever so lightly. "There, case in point. So anyway, Mr Exceed, I wanted to ask you a few more things…"
Naruto's voice trailed off as the brunette card mage stopped listening and got lost in her own thoughts. She really wanted to retort, but she couldn't. She knew he was right; had Mystogan let them know where Naruto was, her and the idiot duo would have wasted no time in setting off to cross the continent to finally see their friend and leader again. Hell, she had no doubt that Mira, even after everything that had happened with Lisanna, would have demanded she joined them.
Cana was no idiot after all; she saw the way the once SS-Class mage looked at Naruto, the past week after he had finally come home made it especially obvious. Even back when she had her magic and before the blonde left, the Mighty Mirajane became a red-faced, stuttering mess before Naruto. She was always so obvious about her feelings for the idiot. How you could fall for someone so idiotic was beyond Cana's understanding.
…
Except it wasn't beyond her understanding at all because she was in the exact same sinking ship as Mira. However unlike the barmaid, Cana had kept her feelings a closely guarded secret; mostly secret, as Levy knew because they had been roommates for the past four years, Lucy knew because Levy had told her at the Victory Party a week ago in a form of revenge at Cana's jabs at her figure, Erza probably had some notion of how she felt given the remarks she'd made to Cana over the years, Makarov knew for sure and Gray wasn't an idiot so he without a doubt knew but never said anything as not to embarrass one of his dear friends. On the bright side though, Natsu had the mental capacity of a moss covered rock at the bottom of a lake so there was no way he knew how she felt.
Though she wasn't sure if Mira had caught wind of her feelings or not; being the notorious matchmaker that she was, Cana would have thought that Mirajane would confront her about their shared affection for the blonde dolt. She knew Mira would never be malicious about it though, it wasn't in her nature anymore. She'd be more likely to give up for Cana's sake. Maybe she hadn't noticed? No, that wasn't possible. It was Mirajane Strauss. She had definitely noticed the drunkard's feelings. Did that mean she just didn't want to address it, and wanted to continue on in bliss with her feelings for Naruto? She liked him that much?
But that brought up a different question that Cana hadn't thought of before; had Naruto noticed their feelings. Despite being an idiotic douche-tool, he was an annoyingly-intelligent and observant, idiotic douche-tool. He… he had to have noticed how they felt. Why hadn't he brought it up and just outright rejected them. No, he wasn't heartless like that, he would never hurt people he cared about that way.
"Ah…," Cana suddenly thought, expression changing to one of realisation, "It's not that he hasn't noticed. Of course he has. It's just… he isn't ready to face the two us. He's trying to keep the status quo." She turned to look at Naruto as he continued to converse with Lucy and the Exceed. She loved the way sunlight reflected off of his cerulean eyes. "He doesn't want things to change."
Naruto, with all his strength and knowledge, wasn't ready for that kind of change. He didn't want to come to terms with the fact that two very close friends harboured feelings for him and that addressing those feelings, let alone reciprocating one of them, would change things forever. It was selfish of him, to act oblivious just to keep things as they are; but at the same time, Cana knew also felt like it wasn't completely selfish. She understood why he was doing it. Anyone with eyes could tell that things were changing. You could feel it in the air. Something was coming. Soon, the world would be thrust into even more danger and she had a hunch that Fairy Tail, as always, would end up right in the middle of it all. She'd have to check her Tarot Cards once this mission was over.
A part of why he was acting so damn oblivious was surely because he didn't want to become just that much closer to one of the either her or Mira, have one of them become just that more important to him than they already were; he didn't want to be at that point with one of them, and then lose them in whatever was waiting for them in the immediate future. Hell, that was even if he even shared these feelings with one of them in the first place. He was protecting himself after losing people dear to him repeatedly. But it was still selfish.
"This state, the three of us stuck in this standstill; it can't go on forever." Cana sighed heavily, turning her eyes once again on the trio beside her. "We have to break out of this state and put everything out in the open. But now isn't the time for that."
"Aw c'mon, why not?," pleaded the Aura Dragonslayer. Lucy giggled slightly behind her hand. The blonde girl had spent the past five minutes watching as her idol conversed with the 'Exceed', the cat from another freaking dimension. Naruto had been trying to get more answers out of the feline: what world was he from, how long had he been in Earthland, did he plan on going back, was there a way for other people to get there and the most recent question, what was the Exceed's name. Naruto had gotten little no to success with the questions. The Exceed refused to say anything about his world, only that humans couldn't get to it and he had no plans or want to go back any time soon.
"Because-" the Exceed chuckled slightly- "I have my personal reasons." Most of all, it seemed the Exceed had even less intention to tell them his name.
"Alright," Naruto sighed in defeat, "But can you at least tell me why you won't give me your name?" The tiger exceed was silent for a few seconds before responding.
"After I left my home world, I refused to have anything to do with it or what goes on there anymore. My name is a constant reminder of my horrible acts the inhabitants of my world have committed." The cat explained, ears drooping ever so slightly. Naruto let the matter drop.
"Fair enough. Now onto the real reason we brought you back with us last night; have you seen anything strange going on in this town?" the man asked.
The exceed was hesitant for a moment. "It depends; are you going to kick me into a wall and render me unconscious like last night?" he asked, eyes drifting over to Lucy.
"I said I was sorry!," the blonde girl cried comically. Cana laughed hysterically at her expense.
"Man-" the card mage wiped a tear from her eye- "I can't believe him talking straight at you freaked you out enough that you kicked him on instinct."
"Cana!" Lucy moaned in embarrassment. True enough, after the Exceed had transformed into this smaller state, Lucy had gotten freaked out enough that once his attention was on her she kicked him into a wall out of instinct, knocking the poor creature out cold. Regardless of that, Lucy was glad to see that Cana had joined in again. The brunette had been strangely silent after her an Naruto's last exchange and she hadn't missed the longing, almost lovesick look the girl had given him when he wasn't looking. It was full of such genuine emotion that Lucy herself got flustered, and the feelings weren't even directed at her. The exceed brought their attention back to him with a laugh.
"I'm sorry for teasing you, I have no hard feelings." He smiled at the celestial mage, causing her to sigh in relief. "As the answer to your question Mr Uzumaki, there have been a few odd goings on in Chrysanthemum recently, yes. Like the the strange noises and lights coming from the tunnels inside the mountain as well as the strange, not to mention high bursts of Ethernano that also come from the tunnels. Oh, and there's also that little brat who lives in jungle that covers the mountain and surrounds the back of the town."
That new bit of information made Naruto perk up. "The pickpocket?," Naruto asked, shifting forward in his place on the foot of the bed, "They're hiding out in the jungle?"
"Yeah, somewhere at the foot of the mountain," the Exceed replied. Naruto crossed his arms but cupped his chin with his right hand in thought. Lucy and Cana exchanged looks.
"So, how do you wanna handle this Wonder Boy?" Cana asked. He was silent for a few moments before standing up and turning around to face his two companions.
"I think we're going to have to split up." He exclaimed, uncrossing his arms. "Cana and Lucy, you two go and search the cave systems for answers on what the hell is happening in there. Me and Mr Exceed here are gonna go pay our little pickpocket friend a visit."
Earning nods from the girls, the three put their hands together between them. The tiger exceed hesitated before Naruto grabbed him and put him on their hands. "Three, two, one, ASCEND!" the three cried out, throwing their hands and the cat into the air, who himself was startled.
With that, the two teams left the hotel and went their separate ways for now.
A few hours later, Naruto was trudging through the jungle with his new ally perched on his shoulder. The two had been walking for a while now, with the Exceed directing Naruto.
"Odin's beard, where the hell is this kid?!" Naruto exclaimed loudly. His feline companion smacked him on the head, though the small paw inflicted no pain.
"Hush!" the Exceed muttered. "This child is tricky and a mage from what I have heard and seen, it's why the local Rune Knights haven't been able to catch them so far. As such, we must travel slowly and quietly."
"Sorry, sorry," Naruto grumbled back. They were silent for a short while longer, before Naruto started a new conversation. "Say, do you have wings?"
"What?" the cat replied. Naruto turned his eyes to the creature on his left shoulder.
"Yeah, ya'know, wings," Naruto blinked, "Happy, the exceed who's my fellow Dragonslayer's partner, can activate a magic that give him wings. So, I was wondering if you had them too or if they were just unique to Happy; or is it that you traded your wings in for that huge-ass tiger form from last night?"
"Ah, that's what you meant." the exceed scratched the back of his head. "No, that particular larger form is unique to me only. As for the wings, I do have them, but they were damaged in my escape from my world. I only have one now and it's scarred heavily."
"Oh, I'm sorry for bringing it up," Naruto looked away. The cat smiled.
"No, its fine. You had no way of knowing that."
"If you say so I suppose. But hey, what are you gonna do after you help me catch this little shit?"
The small tiger looked perplexed. "What do mean?" Naruto shrugged.
"Like, where are you gonna go, how are you gonna get food, ya'know? Because it turns out you were the creature that we had to stop scratching up the town at night as part of our mission." Naruto laughed slightly before continuing. "So what'll you do?" The cat pondered for a moment before responding.
"I'm not sure. I suppose I'll just drift through different towns to get what food and scraps I can."
Naruto frowned. "That ain't no way to live, fluff-ball." The cat laughed heartily at that.
"I suppose you're right. But, it is living nonetheless. And that's all I need for now." There was a few seconds of silence before Naruto spoke up again.
"Well," he began, catching his companion's attention, "You could always come back to our wizard guild, Fairy Tail, with us and join our dysfunctional family."
Naruto's face was turned to his right, away from the cat on his shoulder, as he scratched the right side of his jaw sheepishly with his eyes closed. The tiger regarded him in surprise. "Wait you want me to join your guild?"
"Yeah." the blonde mumbled. "I mean, what have you got to lose? Great food, warm atmosphere, amazing people and you get to watch the guild get into large scale bar fights. What's not to love? You could even become my official partner. The exceed to my dragonslayer, like Happy is to Natsu."
The feline on his shoulder scoffed in good nature. "So you just want me to join to keep a running trend going?"
"What? No no no no no no no, I didn't mean for it to come out like that! Frigg, I'm such an idiot-" the blonde began to ramble. The exceed laughed, cutting Naruto off.
"Relax, I was joking. I know you mean well with the offer-" he looked away, hesitant- "But I'm not so sure about accepting it."
"C'mon, it'd be great!" Naruto tried to encourage him with a small fist pump into the air. "You'll get a guild stamp on your back, making you an official member of the guild. You'd be able to join me and my team on quests and adventures, and not just Lucy and Cana, there are four other members to the team. It'd be a lot of fun."
However, Naruto's new friend still seemed unsure. The blonde smiled. "And, since you have abandoned your old name, I could give you a new one to go by from now on. If you want one, that is." Now the exceed was even more intrigued.
"What did you have in mind?" he asked. Naruto grinned, looking forward.
"Well, I was thinking, how do you like Sh-" Naruto was unable to finish his sentence, as a bronze beam of energy shot out from the trees and foliage above them and to the right. Reacting quickly, Naruto grabbed the exceed off of his shoulder and flipped out of the way of the attack, which left a crater where he once stood.
Landing in a stance, Naruto spread out his sense to find the assailant. However, he had little time to relax, as mechanical, steampunk turrets sprung to life above him on the tree trunks and began to shoot high speed rocks at him. Clicking his tongue, Naruto rolled forward out of their firing path and shot two blasts of aura up at the turrets, effectively destroying them.
Once again, refusing to let the Dragonslayer catch his breath, the assailant shot out of the bushes, preparing to strike him down. But Naruto wouldn't let himself get distracted a second time. He'd locked onto this person's magic signature; he wouldn't be losing them anytime. The blonde felt their attacker activating their magic, and tried to turn to see the magic circle; if he saw the runes magic circle, he may be able to recognise it and know its weaknesses. Even if he didn't recognise it, if he saw the runes in the circle, he could memorise them and decode them during the fight.
But he wasn't fast enough to see the magic circle. In an instant, this attacker had a large broadsword comprised entirely out of light blue energy, and swung it at Naruto's head. He easily dodged this however, by ducking under it and closing in on his opponent. Without wasting time, Naruto activated one of his spells.
"Aura Dragon's Titanium Fist!" Naruto chanted, throwing his aura covered fist towards the enemy. The person in question, whose face was haphazardly masked by black wrappings, widened their eyes in surprise. Just before Naruto's attack could land, a shield formed out of yellow energy came to life on the his opponent's left arm, who then put it in front of them self to protect them.
Naruto's fist slammed into the shield, and the Aurora could see the smirk in his opponents eyes. But the blonde wasn't done. Smirking himself, Naruto put more force into the punch, which sent cracks throughout the energy shield. Obviously surprising the attacker and catching him off guard, Naruto put a tremendous amount of strength into the fist and shot his arm forward even more. The assailant was sent flying backwards, Naruto's punch easily shattering the shield and even causing a small shockwave.
Naruto watched and listened as his attacker flew back through multiple trees, before finally slamming into the side of the mountain. Naruto huffed smugly, before standing back up to full height and he began walking through the foliage to his beaten opponent. The exceed, who had taken cover in Naruto's coat, crawled out back onto the Uzumaki's shoulder. "That's the kid right, the one we're looking for?"
Naruto nodded. "Yeah. Let's go subdue them properly."
"Naruto," the cat shifted positions on his shoulder, "this brat's magic…"
"Yeah, there's something oddly familiar about it. Can't put my finger on what though." As Naruto stepped around a tree, his downed attacker came into view. The child in question was just pulling them self out of the mountainside, before dropping down to their knees. They glared up at Naruto, the black wrappings falling off of their face.
"Ah, it's a young man." Said the exceed in realisation. The boy before them had a round face, still carrying puppy fat in his cheeks. He had round obsidian eyes with surprisingly long eyelashes at the far corners. His bushy eyebrows were set in a frown as he glared at the much older blonde, his gaze peaking through his unruly mess of black hair. All the boy was wearing was an open blue vest and brown shorts with sandals. He was also covered in dirt. Naruto had to say, he sensed an impressive amount of magic from the kid despite his age; he reminded the dragonslayer of Natsu in that regard.
"I'll admit you little shit, you've got some impressive magic." Naruto finally came to a stop about ten feet away from the preteen boy. "But you're nowhere near my level of power yet."
The boy got off his knees, standing at a height of about 4' 8" if Naruto had to guess, as he himself was 6' 2" and the top of the brat's head only just reached the bottom of his chest. The boy seethed in rage, as he dropped into a stance and drew his left fist back. Naruto sighed and went to talk him down, before a magic circle appeared behind the kid's fist, stopping Naruto where he stood.
Now that he saw it, he did know what magic the kid was using; god he was such a damn idiot. The magical circle was a unique kind that Naruto would recognise anywhere, even if it differed from the others like it he had seen; all the people he'd met had utilised different types of this magic after all. The circle had a beautiful floral pattern in the outer ring and surrounding the symbol in the middle; the symbol of which… was a dragon's head.
"Naruto, is that-" the exceed was cut off as bronze energy burst into life around the boy's hand and he jumped into the air above the duo. With a scream, the child brought his fist down. Naruto easily flipped backwards out of the way, but the child's attack sent deep cracks along the ground.
"Yup," Naruto sighed, "It's exactly what you think it is." The child tore his fist out of the ground and stood back up, glaring at Naruto once more. He then began to take in a deep breath, as the magic circle appeared again, this time before his face. "This kid is a-"
The boy cut them off once again, as his eyes widened and he shot the beam of bronze energy from before, out of his mouth and through the circle at Naruto.
"Spectral Dragon's Roar!" the boy yelled, speaking for the first time. As the cat once again took cover, Naruto simply raised his arm put it forwards towards the oncoming beam. Palm facing forwards as well, Naruto coated his fist in aura just as the roar attack collided with his hand. There was no power struggle; Naruto nor his arm even moved an inch. The attack collided with Naruto's hand which instantly split the beam into two, shooting past both sides of the blonde's head and landing and exploding in the background.
As Naruto let his arm drop to hi side again, the boy regained his composure and the exceed peeked his head back out, the Fairy Tail mage said only one thing;
"This kid is a Dragonslayer."
A/N:
And holy mother of hell, we're done for now. Sorry this is what you get after over a year and that it's so dialogue heavy and not much action.
Hey guys, Pyro back with an actual chapter. Thank you for the continued faith in this fic, as I've said before I won't be abandoning it until it's done.
So, I think the quality of my writing is definitely better than it was in the last actual chapter. I personally think I have improve on my dialogue quite a lot since last time.
Anyways that's all from me for now, thanks for reading! PEACE!
