~ She ran to her mother wailing he gave her cooties. ~

He just turned four. She was three and a half. They were sitting under the tree not far from the veranda where her mom watched them while sipping tea.

She was reading a picture book about a princess and her knight in shining armour. And he was there staring curiously at her and her plump cheek.

It looked so white, and so smooth. And he wondered how soft it was. So he scooted next to her and leaned to peck on her soft cheek.

She turned to him wide-eyed and teary. Then she dropped her book and ran to her very pregnant mother, wailing that Jack gave her cooties.

...o0o...

It was her younger sister, Anna's third birthday party. And the kids were gathered near the living room vanity table. She was in front of the mirror, her appearance being fussed over by her eccentric cousin.

"Do I really have to put this on?" She eyed the rose red lipstick that her cousin 'borrowed' from her aunt's make-up kit.

Cousin Rapunzel grabbed the lipstick and applied it to her lips proclaiming, "Of course! It makes you look pretty. And you have to be pretty to marry a handsome prince!"

Jack who was listening—not really caring that his fellow 7-year-old boys were playing with his action figures—frowned and mumbled, 'But she likes knights.' Also, he didn't liked the concept that she have to marry other boys.

But her lips looked so red, he wondered if it tasted strawberry or cherry.

So when Rapunzel got distracted by little Anna who stole the lipstick from her, Jack approached her, never once looking away from the red colour, and she was looking at him curiously. By the time her cousin snatched back the lipstick from her baby sister, Jack had cupped her face and licked her lips.

Rapunzel gasped horrified. Then she stomped her way to hit Jack at the back of his head while shouting, "What have you done, Jack?! How can Elsa marry a handsome prince now?!"

Jack winced and glared at the cousin. Elsa got up from her seat and ran to her mother in tears.

He was frowning again as his gaze followed Elsa.

'But she likes knights,' his thought insisted.

...o0o...

It was the day after the party that Jack found himself being confronted by both their parents.

They told him he shouldn't go around licking people's lips. He reasoned he wanted to know if it tasted like strawberry or cherry. (It didn't.) They pointed out that now little Elsa was upset because she can't marry a handsome prince anymore.

Little Jack frowned in confusion, "She doesn't have to." Then he drew up his stance and put a fist on his chest. 'I, Jack Frost, her knight with shining—" he scratched his head—what was the shiny thingy again?— before he shrugged, "—with shining hair, will marry Elsa when we grow up."

The dads looked at him funny. The moms were giggling at his cuteness. Little Elsa was clenching her tiny fists as she shouted, "But I don't want to marry you!"

Jack turned to her and very determinedly walked towards her direction, cupped her face and pecked her lips with his.

"There! A proper kiss! You can't back out now!" He declared smugly.

Elsa's worried dad didn't worry anymore and Jack's dad forgot to correct him with the shining hair part, because they were now too busy laughing after seething Elsa kicked smug Jack's shin.

..o0o...

Sixth grade class play. Elsa was clad in a snow white home-made gown courtesy of Jack's mother. She played the Snow Queen. While Jack insisted he played the role of her knight.

The Snow Queen offered her hand (not showing how hesitant she was) for Jack to kiss as a sign of royal greeting. Just like what it was written in the script.

The parents in the audience, too used to Jack's aggressive proclamation of his apparent everlasting love for Elsa (when did this new development happen, they couldn't remember), somehow predicted he would grab her hand to yank her down to his level so he could steal yet another kiss from the girl.

And he did. Really.

"Jack! You stupid knight!" And just like that Elsa was chasing him around the stage with her ice sceptre while he laughed as she destroyed nearby background props.

The audience laughed. Anna cheered on. Little Emma, Jack's baby sister, clapped her chubby baby hands and babbled cheerfully.

The teacher in charge and their classmates on-stage and back sighed hopelessly.

...o0o...

Elsa looked up from her book when pink rose petals were blown her way. Then she frowned when Jack nipped at her nose.

He was grinning like an idiot again. Probably felt himself lucky she couldn't kick his shins with the table between them.

Jack then dramatically bowed before her with a dramatic request, "Your royal highness. Would you bestow this desperate loyal knight the honour of accompanying you to the ball?"

The librarian approached their table, hands on her hips with all her intimidating librarian glory, "Mr. Frost. This isn't the place to get a date. So please take away those trash and return the costumes to the Drama Club."

The young lad straightened, glanced at the librarian before looking down at his knight armour. He faked offence and loudly declared, "Those are not trash, Madame! They are the symbol of my everlasting love for Elsa!"

"We know Jack!" The current residents in all the corners of the library shouted back.

Jack grinned and almost skipped his way towards the door. Then before he was out of sight, he proclaimed, "Farewell, my love! I'll be awaiting your response!"

Anna, who was sitting beside Elsa, watched as Jack disappeared from sight. Then she turned her attention to her sister, "You know, you could just spare the guy some mercy and date him already."

Elsa harrumphed softly, gathering the petals to make a bookmark out of it later, "He'd been stealing kisses from me since before you were born. He ought to suffer for a while."

Anna looked at Elsa blankly, wondering if her older sister could hear herself talk.

Then she shrugged. Hopefully, Jack would be patient enough to go through 'for a while'.

...o0o...

Night of the Senior High Prom. Jack in his elegant white general-like suit was sitting on the bench outside near the gym building where the prom was held. He was seething while glaring at the full moon. It was so big, and it was so bright, that he felt like the moon was mocking his foul mood.

"What the hell are you looking at? Stupid moon..." he snapped. Then he felt someone sat beside him.

"So, Jack? What are you here moping about?" Elsa asked as she sat down, smoothing her icy-blue evening gown.

Jack turned to her with a frown and a pout, "Why don't you just go back there to your King? I'm sure his evil sideburns fascinate you," he accused.

Elsa chuckled, "You are such an idiot." Then she grabbed his dark blue tie and pulled him to her for one long-awaited kiss.

He was wide-eyed with delightful surprise as Elsa released him with a smirk that suspiciously looked like his, "Aren't you supposed to be my 'knight with shining hair?"

Jack grinned brightly at her, "Have I ever told you I love you?"

"Yes, Jack. Like a thousand times," Elsa rolled her eyes.

"So, don't you think it's unfair that I haven't heard a single word from you?"

"Doesn't ME kissing YOU convey enough?" She started to fidget with her hands and tried to look at anything but him.

Now Jack had a smirk that definitely was his as he observed her discomfort, "Oho, is her majesty uncomfortable with the sappy part?"

She narrowed her eyes at him, "Oh shut up."

Jack grinned, "Make me."

So Elsa did with another heart-felt kiss.

...o0o...

"Sooo...what about a neon wig for the 'shining hair' part?"

"What?"
