"Auntie Ruby?" Emma asked, sitting on the brunette's lap. "Do you want to be my second Mommy?"
The brunette's eyes went wide, as she quickly looked up to meet Regina's gaze.
The brunette mother smiled at her girlfriend and nodded, silently telling her that, if she wanted to, it was okay with her.
Ruby grinned widely at the young blonde in her lap and pulled her into a tight hug. "I would love that, Emma, but on one condition." She pulled away from Emma and gave her a serious look, making Emma's little eyes go wide and look up at her grinning mother in the doorway.
"What is it?" The young girl asked a little panicked about what her new mommy wanted from her.
"We have to find another similar name because Regina is your Mommy and calling both of us "Mommy" would be confusing," Ruby said in a teasing tone, making both Regina and Emma sigh in relief.
Emma put her pointer finger on her chin and furrowed her eyebrows, thinking hard. When she'd found an answer to her problem, her whole face lit up. She was almost bouncing on Ruby's lap. "So maybe I can call you "Mama"?" the little girl exclaimed excitedly.
"I love it! What do you think, Regina?" The brunette looked up from Emma to Regina. The latter walked to the couch, where her girlfriend and daughter were sitting together and pulled the two into a hug.
"I think "Mama" is a great name for you," she kissed Ruby's cheek. "And now, I think we should go to Granny's to celebrate, don't you agree?"
Emma grinned widely and nodded her head in agreement. The little girl practically jumped off of Ruby's lap and ran to get her coat on. Once done, she grabbed the two women's coats and brought them to the living room, where her mothers were still on the couch.
"Well," the little girl said impatiently, "are you coming or not?" she asked.
"Ooh," Ruby said quietly so only Regina could hear her. "She's just as sassy as her Mommy."
Regina chuckled and rolled her eyes. "We better get moving, before our little girl gets too impatient." She pecked her girlfriend's lips, before walking to the door where the blonde was waiting.
Ruby thought back to what had just happened and smiled widely. Today couldn't get any more perfect, she thought.
