Chapter 34

A few days had passed when Hera received a holo call from a town far on the other side of Lothal. Tarkin town needed food, they had been without proper food for almost over a week now because of the empire, and the people hiding out there hadn't been able to contact the ghost ever since.

"We understand the situation" Hera began leaning against her sat while the others were elsewhere in the ship "But you see; at the moment we aren't pre-"She was cut off by a women's voice over the holo call

"Oh Miss Syndulla, without your food- we'll end up… starving"

"Yes, I understand" The Twi'lek said; she rose a hand and basically face palmed "Once we've passed the problems we have aboard, we will be right there with plenty of food to last three times as longer than last time"

"We can't wait much longer" The other women said, her voice raising as she spoke "We have children here, children that need their food"

Hera groaned quietly as she slowly sunk in her chair "Look… we-"She began

"We'll do it" Interrupted a voice from behind her

Hera quickly turned and saw as Kanan walked in, arms folded looking toward where the holo call was coming from "Oh thank you" Came two voices on the other end

"No problem, we'll be there as quick as we can" The Jedi said smoothly

The call ended.

The Twi'lek was now staring at Kanan as if she was about to yell at him, but the Jedi just smiled as he lowered himself into his chair

"Kanan, you know we're going to need to go to capital city to get this fruit, and I'm sure the empire will be waiting for us!"

Kanan just continued to smile "I'll go and fetch the fruit with Zeb and Sabine in the phantom, you can stay here and watch Ezra" He looked over to her from the window "It'll get there minds of things for a while, this is a simple op in any case"

Hera still didn't look very pleased "Kanan, it's only been about three days. You're still recovering, and you need to stay with Ezra"

"I know, but just because I'm still recovering doesn't mean that we still can't help people in need" The Jedi said turning his chair away from the women

She frowned as he grabbed the chair and forced it to face her "Kanan" She began sharply "You've hardly gotten any rest since we came back… You lost energy; and a lot of it" She sighed "Stay here with Ezra. I'll go with Sabine and Zeb"

Kanan watched as she turned to face the dashboard and pressed a few buttons "That would be a good solution" He said raising a brow "If you knew your way around capital city as well as I did"

Hera rolled her eyes as she turned back to Kanan "I know my way around, just because I'm on the ship doesn't mean-"Kanan rose his hands in surrender to stop her from starting to yell, which he knew was coming

"Okay—okay" He said lowering his hands. He sighed "We'll only be good a little while, then as soon as I get back, I'll get some rest. Deal?"

"What? No not 'deal'" Hera said sharply "You ARE staying here with Ezra. And I AM going to do this op" She was jabbing her finger into the Jedi's chest as she spoke glaring into his turquoise eyes "Clear?" She asked strictly

Kanan stared at her before he shook his head, as he did. Hera could see the cocky childish emotion he played on when he arrived had slipped away. Now, it seemed as though the Jedi was nervous or scared about something. She looked at him when he spoke

"Hera, there are going to be more than a few imperials there…" He began quietly "They're going to be on high alert since what happened on that planet"

"I know-"Hera began

"I've almost lost Ezra already…" He looked up at her "I can't lose you to"

Hera stared for a few moments, before she smiled her usual warm and comforting smile, she leant forward and took his hands "Kanan, I promise you I'm not going to be going anywhere anytime soon" She began "But…. It'll make me feel better if you stayed here: with Ezra… he needs you Kanan- if he wakes up, you're the one he's going to want to see"

The Jedi sighed before he put his fingers between his eyes then shook his head "Ok..."

Hera continued to smile as she pushed herself and began to walk toward the door to the cockpit to go and tell the other two to prepare to leave for capital city. As she reached the door, she looked over her shoulder to Kanan who slumped back into his chair with a small sigh and a loss of her smile, the door slid close. Once Kanan knew Hera had left he turned his chair "Chopper" He called, seeing the droid at the back of the cockpit messing with some controls. The droid turned around to the man and made his way toward him "You can scan capital city for imperials can't you?" Kanan asked leaning forward as Chopper stopping in front of him. The astromech replied almost straight away with a few beeps "Well, then I need you to scan it" Kanan instructed

The droid didn't need to question why since he heard the Jedi and Twi'leks previous conversation. Within a short time a scan appeared In front of Kanan of the imperials dotted around the city. And lucky them, there were many. Kanan face palmed as he fell back in his chair once again while Chopper shut of the small screen and began to beep manically at him "No Chop" The Jedi grunted in reply "If I knew Hera was going to take over, I would never had accepted the mission" He lowered his hand and sighed "Anyway, those people need food- and if we don't get it to them, well then who will?"

The droid groaned. He wasn't too keen on letting the three other rebels go into a mission so soon after what had happened, much as they all didn't. He wheeled to the door to go and join them before Kanan called out to him stopping his pace "Chop, I need you to stay here; so don't go thinking you're going to join them"

The astromech groaned loudly before spinning his head around in annoyance and then proceeded to retreating to the back of the ship; leaving Kanan to roll his eyes and sit back in his seat looking from the window.

Meanwhile, Hera walked to toward the galley before hearing Zeb and Sabine on the other side. She stood by the door and listened to the two talk, ever since Zeb had 'Accidently' blamed Ezra, and then Sabine about what happened to the padawan, Sabine had been angry at him; which Hera and Kanan could understand given the circumstances. On the inside Sabine stood standing toward the counter at the back of the room. One arm was folded over the other as she took a sip from the cup she was holding with her other hand

"Aye uh…" The Lasot said as he scratched the back of his neck, pushing himself from the table by the door "What I said… the other day" Sabine didn't turn, she just lowered the cup slightly as stared down at it, listening as Zeb continued

"I know it's not your fault… Or Ezra's. You both just wanted to… well uh, do somink I guess"

Sabine slowly shifted her head toward the Lasot as he stood guiltily, continuing to scratch his neck. Then he lowered his hands and looked away from the girl "It's the blasted Inquisitors fault"

Sabine continued to remain silent turning her head back completely to face the counters again

"Oh come on… what else do you want me to say?" Zeb groaned stepping toward her

Sabine replied with an irritated sigh as she swung around, still holding the cup in her hand "Well, you can start by apologizing" She said sternly

"…I…Uh" The Lasot stuttered a little confused

The girl rolled her eyes "Not to me"

Zeb took a few moments to realize what the girl meant. Once he did, he practically threw his arms at the door "Ezra's not even woken up yet! – How am I suppose-"

The door slid open to revel Hera: standing arms folded looked at the both of them "We've got something"

Sabine and Zeb both straightened looking a little confused. Sabine dropped her arm folded over the other as she stepped toward the Twi'lek "What do you mean something? Hera we can't just lea-"

"I know" Hera said stopping Sabine from finishing "But me, you and Zeb are going to the city to get supplies for the people of Tarkin town… we're going on the phantom so Kanan will be here with Ezra"

"Does Kanan know about this?" Zeb asked as folded his arms

"It was his idea" Hera said looking up to the Lasot "Thanks to Kanan, we're going through with this"

"…What if something happens while we're out?" Sabine asked

Hera sighed and turned to the girl slowly "Sabine, we have no other choice. Without us, these people aren't going to have any food. As much as I hate to say it… we have to leave" She watched as the girl looked at the Lasot then he did the same to her "Besides" Hera said causing them both to slowly turn back to her "We'll only be good a short time… and we'll be in contact with Kanan the whole time, so if something does happen; we'll know about it"

Sabine sighed and placed the cup on the counter "Okay" She said folding both arms

Hera looked up to Zeb who looked a mixture of confused and angry. He growled slightly "Alright fine"

"Good" The Twi'lek said dropping her arms "Get prepared, we're leaving soon"

She turned and walked away from the galley, letting the door slide close behind her. She only walked a few feet before bumping into Chopper who had swerved around from the common room. He beeped angrily at her causing the Twi'lek to just sigh and bend down to the front of him, placing her hand on the astromech

"We'll be fine Chop… and Ezra will be to, Kanan's doing everything he can to help"

The droid, much like Sabine wasn't convinced. He moved around the women and headed for the galley. Hera watched him until the galley doors slid close leaving her to turn back around and slowly push herself back up, she strode along the small corridor to the cockpit to see Kanan was now standing; leaning against the dashboard as if he had been waited for her to turn up

"If anything happens, contact us on the com" The Twi'lek instructed

Kanan knew what she was talking about then slowly walked toward the women who seemed to grow more and more nervous every second "I should be telling you that" He said cheerfully; trying to bring her spirits up a fraction. Hera looked up at him and couldn't help but cock her head away with a small chuckle at his childish grin. She turned back and flung her arms around his neck

"Make sure he's okay…" She muttered quietly

She could feel as the Jedi made a stiff nod, she then backed away

"Be careful" Kanan said sternly

The Twi'lek smiled as she shook her head "I'm always careful dear"

Kanan smiled as she backed further away from the Jedi, before turning and exciting the room. Once the door closed she stopped walking and let her face fall into her hands, then with a proud sigh she dropped both hands and walked; back straight into the common room where her two other crew members waited for her.

Around half an hour passed since Hera, Zeb and Sabine left. Kanan and Chopper were in the cockpit ignoring each other as they worked on their own things. The astromech was fiddling with the controls as he usually did, while Kanan studied Ezra's lightsaber. It still needed fixing, luckily Kanan was able to get the tracker out a while ago, long before he even considered coming aboard the Ghost, but while doing so he also had managed to disconnect some of the blaster features, and these particular once were some only Ezra knew how to piece together. But never the less the Jedi continued to attempt to the fix it.

It remained completely silent before the small orange and grey droid made his way toward Kanan and grumbled at him, causing the Jedi to irritably sigh and look at the droid

"I don't know" He said rolling his eyes "This is Hera's ship, you should have asked her before we left"

The droid was obviously having trouble with some of the fixtures on the large ship, but Kanan didn't ever touch the mechanisms that cause the ship to actually 'work', so he wasn't usually any help when it came to repairs or upgrades. But Chopper still remained grumpy about it, as the Jedi shifted back around to resume studying his padawans lightsaber, the cranky droid pulled out his electricity rod, and jabbed it straight into the man's side. Kanan jumped throwing the lightsaber behind him

"CHOPPER!" He yelled as the droid began to laugh manically

He pushed himself up from his seat; kicking the droid out of the way so he could get behind the chair, he bent down and picked up the lightsaber before groaning and turning back to the droid

"See! This is why you don't mess with someone when they're working!" He held out the lightsaber so Chopper could see it more clearly. It was even more broken that it was before. The droid grumbled as the Jedi pushed himself from the ground and attempted to ignite the blade, but nothing happened. He slammed his face into his hand and collapsed once again onto the pilot's chair, Chopper grumbled loudly in his ear, claiming it wasn't his fault

"What? How was that my fault?" Kanan asked loudly moving his hand from his face

The small droid once again began to almost yell at the Jedi; trying to convince him that it was not his fault and Kanan had deliberately dropped the lightsaber. The man rolled his eyes and lifted the lightsaber and peered into the blade end, carful to have his hands far from anything that would ignite it "Just go and check on Ezra" He said over Choppers complaining

The droid didn't take interrupted lightly, but he knew better than to zap Kanan when he had the lightsaber that close to his face. Continuing to groan, and complain he shifted himself around and slowly began to slid through the cockpit. He left through the doors; and within moments, the ghost felt empty. Beeping to himself, the droid span around and opened the doors to Zeb and Ezra's cabin, letting the light from the corridor shine into the dark room. He entered; leaving the door open so the light would brighten the room. He came to the bunk and stopped beside the boy. He was silent for at least a minute, as if he was just staring at him; then he made quiet beeping noises which made out a sound of concern and anger mixed into one then he went quiet, as if he awaited a reply. But nothing. The droid made a noise as if to sigh then span himself around and headed for the open door to report back to Kanan, but moments before he left he heard the sounds of the boy behind him mumbling slightly. The droid span his head around curiously, he watched as the padawans fingers stretched out and his head moved in the direction of the wall. The droid quickly moved in the way of the sliding doors stopping them from closing; though slamming himself between the door and the frame in the process. He moved toward Ezra and watched as he began to move more so than he had since he was brought back. With multiple excited beeps, he span around and wheeled swiftly from the room straight into the cockpit making Kanan jump once again

"Cho-"Before he could finish, he began to sense his padawans force energy from the room next door, growing warmer. And something he hadn't felt in a while… there was movement. Quicker than ever the Jedi leapt from the seat; springing over the side throwing the lightsaber onto the chair. He ran past Chopper and pressed the button to open the sliding door to the boy and Lasots room. As he sees in force energy that is emitting from the boy is stronger than ever, so much warmth… so much life. As he stood, he felt the astromech bump him gently in the backs of his knees, either trying to push Kanan into going in, or to just get around him. Kanan didn't turn to Chopper as he stepped in, walking toward Ezra and standing beside him. He looked down at the boy's hand so saw as his fingers shook as they clenched tightly into a fist then moments after retracted and stretched out, his eyes were tightening every few seconds; Kanan could have sworn the boy was trying to wake, so he didn't hesitate "Ezra?" He said quietly as Chopper moved beside him "Ezra" He repeated a little louder. At first there was nothing, Ezra stopped fidgeting and once again the only movement that could be seen was the faint rise of the boy's chest. Hope left Kanan as he dropped his head forward and turned to Chopper. He stood up straight and folded his arms before lifting one arm to rub both his eyes. Then, as if a miracle happened, he heard it

"K…Kanan?"

Kanan lowered his hand and sharply looked down at the boy, his eyes open in the slightest, revealing a small inch of the bright blue Kanan had missed.

"Hey Kid" His voice was packed full of relief, sadness and Joy. He bent down onto the bunk and sat only inches away from the padawan. He watched as the boy began to raise his eyelids even further. His sight was blurry which was lucky for Kanan as the blurriness blocked out the tears as they began to well up in his turquoise eyes. For a few moments Ezra said nothing more instead he gradually tried to make out a small smile, then he spoke once again "Hey master"

At that, Kanan smiled through the small tears that he tried so hard to hold back; then before he could stop himself, he reached forward and pulled the padawan in for a comforting embrace. Ezra was surprised at first, but after a few moments he smiled once again and accepted it. Kanan moved the kid away from him slightly as he still held back the tears he then saw as the youth himself slowly began to well up. Continuing to smile, Kanan ruffled the boy's hair messing it up more so that it already was "You're never going to learn are ya kid?"

Ezra chuckled before he said quietly through his groggy voice "Learnt it all from you"

The Jedi once again opened his mouth to speak. But was cut short by Chopper who angrily waved his hand around as if he was being ignored. Ezra chuckled and reached out for the droid, patting the astromech "Ha-ha. Yeah Chop, I missed you to" Although Ezra didn't understand Chopper just yet, he knew certain things the droid said, and though most of the time the droids words consisted of him cursing at most of the crew members, this time it was different.

As Kanan chuckled at the two, he turned to the door. The com in the cockpit was going off, it was Hera; it had to be. With a disgruntled sigh he pushed himself from the bunk. Ezra watched and straight away tried to move toward him

"Kan-"He didn't finish, he spoke so fast he lost his breath at the last second causing his throat to burn more so than it did before. Kanan turned quickly and lowered himself again to calm his padawan down who had slightly began to panic at the thought of his master leaving

"It's okay…" Kanan reassured lifting both his arms

"Deep breaths kid" He watched as Ezra closed his eyes tightly and took a few deep breaths before opening his eyes back to his master who slowly lowered his arms "Slow down… You'll make it worse" The Jedi said with a hint of nervousness in his voice. He sighed "I'll just be in the cockpit… And It'll just be for a few minutes, I'll tell Hera and the others that you're awake and-"

"They left?" Ezra asked talking a little too fast again

Kanan sighed once again at the fact Ezra ignored him, but continued to answer the boy's question "Yes… but it's just for a little while, they'll be back soon"

"They'll come back as soon as they know you're okay" He said as he smiled and once again ruffled the teens raven hair

Ezra didn't smile, he shifted his eyes nervously away from his master, he didn't really want to be on his own, not after all that happened. Kanan could sense this before hitting Chopper slightly

"Chop's gonna be in here… And once I'm done I'll come straight back" "Okay?"

Ezra sighed with a small and unconvincing nod. Kanan guiltily and nervous got up and walked toward the door, putting a hand on the door frame as it opened. Ezra still was looking away at the wall, he could sense how scared Ezra was, and he wasn't surprised, he still didn't know what the Inquisitor did before he turned up… but Ezra was still alone for all that time, and of all people. Kanan knew that that was what Ezra was most afraid of.

The door slid open and Kanan stepped into the cockpit, leaving Ezra alone with Chopper just next door. Chopper wasn't the most reliable one Kanan could trust to watch Ezra for a few minutes, but at the moment he had no other choice. He didn't want to worry Hera.

He sat in the pilot seat and pushed down on the com

"Phantom, this is the ghost" He said trying not to sound the least bit guilty

"Kanan" Hera began not bothering to use his code name Spectre 1 since there was no one around but the crew "We got the crates, but something was… off"

Kanan raised a single brow as he leant forward even more so than he was "Off how?" He asked

"There were no imperials… not one them" Sabine said from beside Hera "This was an imperial docking bay, and there wasn't a single one of them there"

"It made the pickup easy sure" Hera shrugged before turning the girl as she stood beside her "But something is obviously wrong"

Kanan sat thinking for a minute, obviously something had happened. Kallus and the remainder of the star destroyers could have returned, but they hadn't spotted any, nor had Kanan sensed the presence of the agent back on Lothal. Then he remembered. The Inquisitor… it was highly possible he survived, the Jedi didn't exactly have the time back then to check. Kallus and many of the others could have returned for the Pau'an given he was very high up in the ranks

"Kanan?" Hera asked breaking the sudden silence that had filled the com

"I'm here" Kanan answered. He leant forward rubbing his beard with his hand "Focus on the mission for now… I'll get Chop to scan the capital for the Imperials"

"Alright… has anything happened there?" Hera asked referring to Ezra

Sabine leant of from the dash staring at the com as Kanan remained silent for a few moments. If he was to tell them about Ezra they would obviously come straight back. And he still had a lot to talk to Ezra about, and that would run a lot more smoothly without Zeb and Sabine charging in on him and his padawan while they talked. He sighed "Everything's fine…" He moved his hand away from his beard and let his face fall into it guiltily "Just… don't take too long" He muttered

"We won't" Hera said as Sabine silently sighed as she moved to the back of the phantom "Be careful dear" The women said

Kanan stared before he switched of the com. He fell back in his chair dropping his hand back onto his face once again then he sighed. He pushed himself up after lowering his hand and began to walk toward the hall of cabins. He stood by the door, and heard Chopper beeping on the other side of the door while moments after the youth laughed and occasionally hit the droid, it made Kanan smile knowing that the droid was managing to keep the teen smiling even after the things he was put through. He pressed the button opening the door causing the two on the inside look up to the man "Have I missed anything?" He asked folding his arms with a grin

Ezra replied with a chuckle as Chopper span his head around a few times, beeping as he did so. Kanan continued to grin as he walked in "Chop" He said looking down to the droid "I need you to scan the capital again…"

The droid replied with an angry groan "I know I've already made you do it" Kanan said rolling his eyes "But I need you to do it again"

Chopper grumbled angrily but proceeded to do as the Jedi told him. He wheeled out from the room toward the cockpit so he could get a better reading. Ezra watched as the droid left and kept his eyes on the door as it closed "Is… everything okay?" He asked slowly turning to Kanan his smile dropping slightly

"Everything's fine" Kanan reassured sitting back on the bunk "Hera just wants to know if there are any imperials around the capital". Ezra stared blankly at the man before narrowing his eye brows "Kanan, there have always been imperials there, why would Chopper need to scan for any?"

Kanan sighed and lost his smile. He put both hands on his knees as he looked away from Ezra "When Hera and the others got to the capital, there were no troopers at the first drop-site-""Isn't that a good thing?" Ezra interrupted quickly "That made it easier didn't it?"

The Jedi turned to Ezra who looked slightly confused at why Kanan was worrying about the lack of imperials "Well yes, it did make it easier… but ever since we got back, there's been no star destroyers returning… and many of them imperials are stationed on Lothal" He explained

"Like Agent Kallus…" Ezra said a little quieter as he moved his eyes away from his master "Exactly" Kanan replied

"Where would they go then?" The padawan asked his eyes returning to Kanan "…They could have gone back to the planet we came from… after what happened, It's possible they went back for the Inquisitor" Kanan explained lifting a hand as he explained

This time Ezra didn't reply. He opened his mouth a fraction before turning his head slightly letting his raven hair block his face. Kanan stared at him before the youth sighed and answered to his master's confusion "…Kanan… I don't… remember what happened, not after the Inquisitor came to my cell… after that, it's just… it's just a big blur" He dropped his head and looked down at his bandaged hands "It's like the memories are there… but I just can't remember…"

Kanan remained silent as he stared at the boy. He opened his mouth to speak but couldn't find the words to say. He looked down to where the boy was staring. To be honest, it didn't surprise Kanan that much that Ezra didn't remember much of what happened, after all, he was under influence of the Inquisitor, he wasn't himself and he wasn't in control of what he was doing. But he did do it all, so the memories of it all were in the teens head, and they would slowly start to reveal themselves as time went on. The Jedi sighed, telling the kid that he was being manipulated by the Pau'an so he would fight him and the rest of the crew, wasn't going to make the situation any easier. He took a deep breath and spoke "Do you remember… anything after that? Anything at all?"

He knew getting Ezra to remember everything wasn't going to end well, and he didn't exactly want to do it. But letting his padawan find out this way was better than letting it come to him as time went on. The teen lifted his head slightly but remained silent for a few minutes, Kanan could easily tell he was trying his best to remember what had happened. Then he spoke "Um… I…" He turned to Kanan "You saved me" Kanan opened his mouth an inch before closing it and smiling. He turned and shook his head; closing his eyes in the process "Heh, well that-"Ezra cut him off again "I was with the Inquisitor…" Kanan turned back to him "He… He…" The boy stuttered. The Jedi saw he was getting slightly emotional as he spoke. He rose his hands and gestured them back and forth "its okay, you don't have to sa-"He was cut off again "He said…" Ezra looked up to his teacher "He said you weren't coming back… He was trying to make me angry… like before…" He shook his head "I don't know what… I couldn't-"Kanan stopped the boy by leaning further toward him "its okay" He said trying to calm the distressed teen down. Ezra looked up at his master before glancing down again "I couldn't… stop myself, it was like… like; I don't know, like he was-"This time Ezra was one who was interrupted

"Ezra" Kanan said sternly causing the teen to look back up at him "Nothing that happened was your fault. The Inquisitor made you angry so you would be easier to take… that's when a dark side user as strong as the Inquisitor can take control" He noticed this didn't seem to make the boy any happier about what he had done. "Kid, you fought back against the Inquisitor even while he had you on his side…"

Ezra listened to Kanan as he tried to explain what happened that didn't consist of the worse areas; though it didn't make him feel the slightest bit better. He turned his head away from his master yet again; catching the Jedi's attention. He frowned as he leant further back on the bunk "Ezra, you were able to break free of his control… and that takes a lot of will power, nothing you did back there makes you a bad person. Because that wasn't you Ezra…"

Ezra continued to stare away from Kanan before he turned his head an inch back to Kanan who was almost pleading to get the boy to believe what he was saying.

"…I hurt you…" The youth muttered looking downward letting his raven hair spill in front of his face "Wha-" Kanan said quickly as he sat straight again

"I was… fighting you" The boy muttered

Kanan stared before leaning forward with a sigh. He then shuffled along the bunk closer to the boy "Ezra. You only fought because that's what the Inquisitor made you do. Right from the start, I knew you-""I didn't want to fight Kanan!" Ezra said quickly almost yelling as he turned to the Jedi, his eyes watery "I could sense you, I knew you came back… even though the Inquisitor tried to make me forget" His voice was croaky as he attempted to yell, but it was full of confusion not fear.

"You have a strong will Ezra" The Jedi repeated "Even though the Inquisitor tried to take away everything that was important… you wouldn't let him" He grinned "Heck, you pushed him out a window kid" Ezra stared before he slowly shifted his head downward and looked at his bandage surrounding his torso. He ran his fingers along it "I saved you…"

Kanan froze for a moment, then he lowered his shoulders with a silent and guilty sigh "Yes… You did"

He tried to smile as he rubbed the back of his neck, leaning forward on his knee with his other hand "Ha, guess that makes us even now"

The boy turned to his master who was smiling an obviously fake smile as he tried to hide the guilt. He sighed and looked at his hands "When I was with the Inquisitor… he said you weren't going to come back… that you all 'Abandoned' me-""Ezra" Kanan interrupted with another small frown

"I didn't listen" The youth said ignoring Kanan as he looked up at the man "I knew you were coming… I'm not sure how… I just… knew"

Kanan stared the boy as he dropped both his hands onto his lap sighing quietly. The Jedi shook his head and a genuine smile re-appeared. He leant over to the teen and ruffled the kid's hair "We're never going to leave you behind kid" Ezra looked up at him, his eyes stained red and watery "Keep that in mind"

The padawan stared at his master before he nodded slightly letting himself smile back. "The others won't blame you for what happened… I'm sure they've already forgotten about it" Kanan explained leaning forward "You try to forget it too alright?" Ezra just looked at Kanan for a few moments before he lost his smile and nodded. He still had a lot to remember, but he knew keeping a hold of those memories wouldn't help him in any way. Kanan was right, when he remembered everything, the best thing to do was to forget it all.

About 20 minutes past. Ezra had fallen asleep being tired and still genially exhausted. Kanan hadn't left Ezra's cabin. He had however moved from the bunk to a small stall, leaning against the wall as he studied his own lightsaber. The ship was dead quiet, until the door slid open and Chopper wheeled in. The Jedi sprung his head up as the droid began to beep wildly coming toward him "Shh Chop" Kanan said quickly pushing himself from the wall. The droid turned to Ezra and saw as the teen was sleeping, he then turned back to Kanan and began to beep again.

"I asked you to do that ages ago" The Jedi said as he rolled his eyes

Chopper had scanned the capital and informed Kanan that there were only a few hundred storm troopers there. The rest had completely vanished. Kanan sighed and fell back against the wall again "Why would they be away from the capital? They're always there… It just doesn't make any sense"

Chopper replied with many beeps to which Kanan looked down at him again "I'd love to try and sense them Chop, But I can't lock onto just one trooper"

Chopper span his head around before he moved backward and brought up a blue image of the large imperial complex in the middle of the capital. Kanan leaned forward again and stared as the droid beeped "Chop, we can't just break in… I mean yeah, it's not a bad idea… I'll know for sure if the Inquisitor is still alive…"

Chopper beeped as if to say 'Exactly' the turned off the scan. Kanan huffed and dropped his face into his hand "Hera and the others probably just got to Tarkin Town… I'm not sending them, it's too dangerous…

The astromech beeped and pulled out his metal arms pointing to himself frequently

"Oooh no Chop, you really think I can trust you with something like this?"

Chopper groaned and dropped his hands. He began to beep at the Jedi; telling him that that was technically the only way they were going to find out about the Inquisitor and Kallus. And given Kallus is stationed on Lothal, it was strange he hadn't made an appearance yet.

Kanan stared, listening as the droid went on. He eventually sighed and dropped both hands onto his knees. "Alright. But only because there aren't many imperials there at the moment… I'll need to get you there before Hera gets back"

Luckily for Kanan and Chopper, Tarkin town was even further than the capital. A good two hour trip, maybe even longer. That should give the Jedi and Droid enough time to fly there, get what they need and get back without their fellow members knowing.

Kanan stood up, attaching his lightsaber to his belt as he did. He looked to Ezra and huffed slightly "You better be sure about this Chop" He glanced down to Chopper who replied with a satisfied beep

The Jedi turned from his padawan and excited the room toward the cockpit, soon joined by Chopper. He sat in Hera's chair and placed his hands on the control sticks. He pulled back on them and straight away the large cargo ship began to rise from the ground. He flew the ship forward and headed toward the clouds. Keeping low would only attract unwanted attention from the imperials that were still in the capital. He pressed a few switches setting the ship on auto pilot before turning to Chopper "Alright… they're going to notice you straight away looking like that" He said folding his arms

He received an angry beep from the astromech "If Sabine was here we'd get her to paint you"

Chopper beeped and gestured the door. Kanan looked up and frowned "Oh no, we're not waking Ezra, I don't want him involved. The astromech groaned at the Jedi, telling him that Ezra could paint him just like Sabine had done before. But Kanan wasn't having it

"No Chop. One the kid needs rest. And two, I don't want him even knowing we're doing this" He leant back in his seat "I don't want any of them knowing we're doing this"

Chopper groaned and span around to head into the small corridor "Where are you doing?" Kanan asked springing upward. Chopper replied with 'Sabine's room'. Kanan flattened his eye brows "What are you going to do in there?" The droid ignored the Jedi and let the cockpit doors slide close behind him. Kanan hesitated to follow him, but just rolled his eyes and turned back to the dash.

Around five minutes past when the doors shifted open again. Kanan turned to them and saw Chopper rolling in, holding two spray cans in either hand. He wheeled to Kanan and threw them at the Jedi. "What am I supposed to do with these?" He asked picking one up from his lap

Chopper made a sound of sarcasm before he explained what Kanan needed to do

"What? Uh-uh" The Jedi said picking up the other can and handing back to Chopper "That's Sabine's area"

Chopper grumbled. Sabine obviously wasn't there, and Kanan wasn't letting Ezra do it. So he was the only was left to do it. He couldn't go in looking like he was, so painting him to look like an imperial droid was the best way to gather the information they needed. "Chop, I don't even know how to paint, let alone want to do it" Kanan said frowning slightly "Do it yourself"

The astromech threw one of the cans at Kanan again "Hey!" He yelled. The droid replied with hints to the open door, to the cabin just down the hall. Kanan grumbled "How do you even know he'll know how to paint?"

Chopper replied to a shrug with his metal arms. But this was really there only option if they wanted to know the fate of the Inquisitor. Kanan huffed and pushed himself up "Fine" He said angrily "But do not mention what we're doing, clear?"

Chopper replied with a sarcastic salute, one that made Kanan roll his eyes once again. The two of them walked down the corridor and stood outside Ezra's cabin. Hesitantly Kanan pressed the button, opening the cabin door. He was surprised to see his padawan awake, leaning back against the back wall of Zeb's bunk looking down at a data-pad

"Kid" Kanan said a little surprised as his eye brows rose

Ezra jumped, he's not been paying any attention to the noise of the feeling of Kanan not being in the room with him. He's been too focused on the pad he had found just under the blanket. Kanan stepped in with Chopper at his heels, he rubbed the back of his neck "We only went-"

"It's okay" Ezra said with a smallish smile reassuring his master that being left alone didn't effect as much as he would have thought

Kanan returned the smile and dropped his hand. He looked at the pad before narrowing his eyes slightly "Where'd you get that?" The padawans eyes turned to the pad "I uh… It was on the bunk"

Kanan walked toward him and looked down at Ezra. He turned turned to Chopper with an angry glare "Did you-"He muttered quietly

Chopper replied with an angry wave of his hands catching Ezra's immediate attention. "I don't think Chopper gave it to me Kanan" He said causing Kanan to turn back to him "I think… Sabine did"

"Sabine?" Kanan asked raising a brow

"Yeah… I think so any way" Ezra shrugged

Kanan huffed and sat on the bunk "What's on it?" He'd complain at Sabine later

Ezra smiled and swiped the screen across before he lowered a leg and gave the pad to Kanan.

The Jedi stared down at a picture of a young boy around six or seven with familiar Raven hair, standing beside a girl with dark brunet hair. Their arms were over each other shoulders and both were beaming a childish smile with both their eyes closed. "Heh…" Kanan laughed

He looked up to Ezra and handed the pad back to the teen who took it and stared at the picture once again. "You know they were they to…" Kanan said leaning on his knees

"Yeah" Ezra replied "They were helping Hera… right?"

He turned to Kanan, who replied with a nod and a smile. The youth then turned back to the pad "They were okay then?" He asked

"Yeah kid. All of em are fine" Kanan said continuing to smile

Ezra sighed and turned to Kanan then to Chopper smiling his old childish and cocky smile "Okay" He shut of the pad and moved it beside him "So, you need to paint Chopper?"

"Wha-"Kanan stuttered lifting his hands. He turned to Chopper and kicked him "I said not to tell him!" The droid replied with a confused yell at Kanan, he threw his metal arms about in confusion at the Jedi glared at him "How else does he know?!"

Ezra just chuckled and decided to break the argument that was soon to obviously grow bigger "Kanan, I could hear you. The cockpit isn't that far away and you were talking pretty loud"

Kanan and Chopper both turned to Ezra "You heard us?" The Jedi asked who was now standing

"Yes" Ezra nodded with another grin

Kanan huffed and sat back on the bunk "You don't have to do it if you don't want to kid. It's just so we can-"He stopped, he wasn't sure if he wanted Ezra to know about the Inquisitor

Ezra stopped grinning "Kanan, I know about the Inquisitor… I don't remember much of what happened yet, but I know that the Inquisitor could still be out there" He shrugged sending Chopper into the complex is the best way to find out." Kanan sighed although deep down he was slightly glad Ezra knew about the Inquisitor, he wasn't as freaked by what happened as he thought his padawan would be. He was taking it all very well, keeping himself calm something that made Kanan prouder of the youth every second. "You think you can paint Chopper?" He asked as Chopper wheeled closer to the bunk "I guess" Ezra shrugged looking at the droid "I can kind of remember how Sabine did it"

"That's good" Kanan said with a smile "It doesn't have to be perfect, don't pressure yourself"

Ezra chuckled at his masters concern "I'll be fine Kanan"

The Jedi opened his mouth to reply but stopped and smiled, lifting his hand and ruffling the kid's messy hair. "I need to pilot the ghost to a good landing point… you two'l be alright alone?"

Chopper answered for Ezra by pushing the Jedi from the bunk and pushing him toward the door. "Chopper!" He yelled as Chopper continued leaving Ezra to laugh on the bunk

Chopper stopped and shoved the Jedi forward, causing his to topple toward the door, managing to straighten himself in the corridor. He turned and glared at Chopper before the droid closed the door.

Kanan glared before flattening his eyes brows and grinned. He then turned to the cockpit and walked toward it, sitting down on the seat and checking where about they were. They were still a good twenty minutes away from the capital. But he didn't plan on landing in the city that would defiantly get them caught. They'd land just outside leaving Chopper to navigate through the rest on his own.

Around another five minutes past. Kanan was once again studying Ezra's lightsaber when the door slid open. He turned to see Chopper, painted black and looking very similar to an Imperial droid. He grinned as the droid wheeled in "Ha, not a bad look Chop"

Chopper grumbled at Kanan who just laughed "Kid did good… takes after Sabine I suppose" He laughed at Chopper beeping again before the droid pointed out something from the window. Kanan turned and saw as the capital was coming toward as the clouds began to separate. He took the controls and turned the ship of autopilot, slowing it down. It gently pushed forward and the ship began to head downward toward the ground. "Alright chop, once we're down. I'll take you close to the city on the speeder, you'll go to the imperial building and find what you need then head straight back to the ghost" He turned from the window to Chopper, then back again "You got that?"

Chopper immediately began to grumble at the Jedi's plan. Picking out one small detail

"I know. But he'll only be alone for a few minutes. Tops." Kanan said looking down at Chopper again "I'll be heading straight back once you're of the speeder"

Chopper complained but had no other choice but to agree to Kanan's plan. They soon landed the ghost and they both got up ready to leave. Chopper wheeled down the hall then turned to Kanan as he stopped outside Ezra's cabin "Go Chop, I'll be down in a minute" The astromech replied with a groan but did at the Jedi said. Kanan opened the door to the cabin and stepped inside. Ezra was once again sitting on the bed, fiddling with the bandage over his right hand "You'll only make it worse if you do that" Kanan said raising a brow as he folded his arms and smiled

Ezra jumped again, turning to Kanan quickly "Stop doing that!" He said, yelling as best he could "It's cheating, I can't even sense you yet"

Kanan chuckled as he walked in "You know the plan I guess?"

"Yeah… You'll be careful right?" Ezra asked dropping his hands between his risen knees and his chest

"Yeah. I'll only be gone a few minutes. After that we'll be in contact with Chopper the whole time" Kanan explained. Ezra stared before he huffed and looked toward the door "You think the information we need with be there?" "I hope so" Kanan replied "If not, we're going to need to find another way to find out" Ezra looked at Kanan and nodded. The Jedi smiled before turning back toward the door "Don't try doing anything while I'm gone" He said glancing over his shoulder as he reached the sliding door "Like what?" Ezra replied with a grin "You know what" Kanan said narrowing his eyes brows, grinning as he turned completely. "As if I could even try" Ezra rolled his eyes sarcastically. Kanan chuckled and turned to Choppers groaning "Be careful" Ezra said before the Jedi could turn back to him. When he did, they nodded at each other. Then the door closed.

Kanan skidded to a stop on his speeder. Chopper immediately jumped of "Alright Chop. Keep your com channel open" The Jedi said hinting his com as he stayed aboard the bike "Anything happens, contact me and I'll be straight there." The droid replied with a salute from his metal arm, he then proceeded to turn away and wheel into the city. Kanan watched him until he was out of sight then straight after pulled on the small controls and headed straight back toward the ghost.

Back on the large cargo ship, Ezra sat sitting on Zeb's bunk. It was remarkably comfortable… he's thought It was bumpy and hard the way Zeb complained about it, but it was even more comfy than his own. He could try and convince the Lasot to switch bunks… but then again he liked being on the top bunk. He leant beside him as he took the data-pad, flicking it on and smiling as the picture showed itself to him. Once again Sabine had come through, one of these days he had to pay her back somehow. He dropped his knees forward and let himself lie flat on his back once again, his head being comfortable supported by his own pillow. He stared up at the picture, it was quiet and peaceful, he didn't much like being alone aboard the dark ship, but his thoughts of that were buried underneath the happiness that this old phot gave him. He stared at it for a short while when a beeping sound came below him. Curious he leant forward, he still couldn't quite sense things yet so for all he knew this could be anyone. It was a couple of minutes before they came to the door. The padawan jumped as they opened it "Kanan!" He said happy to see his teacher back. "Choppers in the city, won't be long until he gets to the building. The first socket he finds he'll grab everything he needs…" Kanan explained as he walked toward Ezra "But the problem is… he'll have to break into the security areas… and that's going to set of all the alarms in that place-" Kanan began "So we're going to have to make a quick getaway" Ezra finished "Exactly" The Jedi nodded

Ezra was silent for a few moments before raising a brow "Have you told Hera about all this?"

"What? Um… why? Who-"Kanan stuttered

Ezra chuckled "I take that as a no" Kanan folded his arms "I'll tell Hera once everything's calmed down…" He grinned "So I don't want you telling her OR the others anything either alright?"

The youth smiled "I won't… but Hera is going to kill you"

Kanan face palmed "I know" He sat on the bunk beside the teen

The two exchanged smiling glances before the interior com went off "That's either Chopper or Hera" Kanan said as he pushed himself up "I'll be back in a few minutes, if not… I'm going to get Chopper"

Ezra nodded at the Jedi before he vanished into the hall. He was alone again.

Kanan hurried to the cockpit. He pressed on the com and straight away new it was Chopper. "Whoa- whoa Chop, calm down" Kanan said trying to stop the droids immediate beeping "Have you got to the place yet?"

Chopper replied as a yes which made Kanan grin "You got there quick" The astromech moaned back; not liking the sarcasm. "Where are you?" The Jedi asked sitting on the chair

Chopper replied to being back in the city, but then moved around so the sounds of sirens could be heard "Ah" Kanan said quickly. He was right about the alarms. He didn't think they'd go of so soon. "Okay Chop, I'll be right there" He said quickly

He sprang from the chair and raced down the ladder. He told Ezra he could be leaving so that's just what he was doing. He jumped onto the speeder and pulled back on the control letting it spring forward back toward the capital. He sped into the city, accidentally almost ramming into a few Rodians. It took a while to finally come across Chopper, but when he did the small droid was being chased by three storm troopers. Kanan immediately shot the three of them then turned to Chopper

"Get on!" The droid did as he said. He attached and straight away Kanan sped back toward the ghost "You got the info?" He yelled turning to the droid

Satisfying beeps came from the droid telling Kanan that he had gotten them. But this satisfaction didn't last long. Tie fighters flew out from the imperial building. Followed by many troopers on speeders and several aboard imperial transports. He looked up at the ties and frowned at where they were heading. Straight for the ghost "Hold on tight Chop!" He yelled

He turned the ghost and went down thin alley, almost crashing into many people as he did. He sped down it, swerving corners as he did until the end of the city could be seen. He pushed harder on the speeder making it move a little faster. It sped out from the end and made its way quickly to the ghost. It sped up the ramp and before it could even reach the top Kanan leapt of. Chopper also got off and closed the ramp door then followed the Jedi to the cockpit. Kanan grabbed onto the controls and lifted the ghost into the air immediately swinging it around. Unfortunately for him, many tie fighters seemed to have spotted them. "Ugh, thinking this wasn't such a good idea Chopper!" Kanan yelled as the droid retreated from the cockpit toward the back of the ships guns. The Jedi pressed on the internal com "Kid, hold onto something" Moments after saying that the ghost shook to the fire that was shot from the tie's "Chopper!" Kanan yelled as the droid just reached the gun

The droid replied with an angry groan and began to fire at the small ships as they flew around them, Kanan glared through the window and did the same. He managed to shoot one down before heading above the clouds. He wasn't as good a pilot as Hera. But he had had more experience in shooting the tie's down. Unfortunately many more appeared from the clouds underneath them "Wonderful" Kanan muttered seeing as they tried to box the ship in. He began to shoot, managing to shoot one down, he grinned as he flew through the gap, only to be quickly followed by the rest of the small ships. It was quiet aboard when Chopper began to yell through the Internal com "Ow, Chop, what is it?!" Kanan yelled as the yelling made the com jolt. Before could reply, a familiar shuttle flew over the top of the ghost, doing a flip and shooting down tie fighters from behind it. Kanan stared through the window to see Hera, Sabine and Zeb glaring at the tie's as they attempted to shoot down the large cargo ship. Kanan was surprised to see them but didn't have time to focus, he and the phantom quickly took to shooting down the remainder of ties. It was lucky there were only being piloted by tie fighter pilots. It seemed like forever until most of the ties had been shot down and the others choose to retreat. Kanan sighed in relief falling back in his seat. He then leant forward once again and began to pilot the ghost far from the capital once again so they could land safely.

Upon landing, the phantom connected to the ghost and Kanan walked to the common room. He crossed his arms and watched as Zeb slid down the ladder, followed by Sabine then Hera. She didn't look happy. "What… where you THINKING?!" She yelled punching the Jedi in the arm "YOU FLEW THE GHOST TO THE CAPITAL WITH EZRA ON BOARD… YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN HURT!"

Kanan rose his hands in defense and stepped backwards "Hera… we had to do it" He stuttered "WHY?!" Hera yelled her hands falling to her sides "We needed to find out about the Inquisitor…"

"I thought you dealt with him" Zeb stated, his large arms folded over each other

"I did" Kanan said looking up to Zeb "But that doesn't mean he's …dead" "I never had the time to check after what happened to Ezra"

Hera was still furious with Kanan. He didn't just put himself in danger, she put there already injured member in danger. She sighed angrily "How is he?"

Kanan turned back to Hera "Uh…" She scratched the back of his neck "Kanan…"

"He's fine" Kanan reassured

"Fine?" Hera asked raising a brow. "Well yeah he-"

He was cut off by Hera quickly walking past him toward the hall of cabins. Sabine and Zeb were quick to follow. She came to Zeb and Ezra's cabin and pressed down the button to open it. It slid open but the three didn't see what they thought they would. Ezra was sitting on the bunk, cleaning the paint from Chopper getting black and grey paint on his arms and hands. He glanced up to the sound of the door opening and saw the three other members of his crew standing there, the look of shock filled their faces. He smiled his old sweet and innocent smile as he sat up from cleaning the droid. At first, no one said anything they didn't even move. The padawan waved as Chopper did the same as he span his head around to face them. The youth hid the amount of comfort it felt to see his crew again, even more so after what just happened outside.

"Ezra…" Hera said quietly. Her voice was packed with a mixture of relief, joy and sadness. Throwing out the anger Kanan had brought out only a few minutes before. Ezra looked up at her, his sapphire eyes glistened brightly as he smiled at the women. She finally smiled as she ran toward the boy, immediately bending down and wrapping her arms around him, bringing him forward slightly so she wouldn't hit her head on the bunk above. Ezra smiled at the women's embrace. It was the warmest feeling being hugged by Hera, she was so warm; and for the first time since he got back, he could sense the warmth and comfort in her, the relief and joy the Twi'lek felt. And just that made him feel even happier. He wrapped his own fragile arms around her before she moved away. Her face and eyes were stained red where tears slowly fell, she smiled leaving her hands on the teens shoulders "You don't ever do that to me again" Ezra chuckled as his eyes brows fell slightly apart

Hera got up and stepped away letting Sabine quickly move toward Ezra followed by Zeb. The Lasot gently punched the teen in the arm with a sympathetic grin "Gave us a good-ol scare there kid" Ezra smiled as he looked up at the tall creature folding his large arms "Ha, payback for when you did before" Ezra's voice was enough to pull the room back to silence. It was the best sound any of them had heard in a long time. Sabine beamed as she sprang onto the boy, hugging him tightly. At first Ezra was surprised, quite surprised in fact. He thought of saying something cocky like usual. But stopped himself. He could sense how scared Sabine had been at the thought of losing Ezra, he smiled a small un-cocky, un-flirty smile and wrapped his arm around the girl. She soon backed away and sat on the edge of the bunk, it was clear how much she was trying to hold back the tears. Ezra looked at her before turning to the other members of his crew. Hera and Kanan were standing beside each other smiling down at him, but he could see how upset each of them were. He slowly began to realize how much he had scared them, how it must have felt knowing that they could have lost him at any moment. He lost his smile, turned back to the blanket and looked downward.

"I'm sorry…"

Everyone's smile dropped. Kanan's eye brows narrowed as he looked at his padawan while Hera stepped forward a step.

"I was reckless… I could have got-"Hera cut him of "Ezra, none of what happened is your fault" She said on the edge of the bunk beside Sabine "We're just happy you're okay… and that's all that matters. We're not mad at you Ezra"

Ezra turned and looked at her. She could see he obviously felt bad. And she knew exactly why. "What ever happened down there doesn't matter… you're back, and as long as you're safe" She placed her warm hands on his cold ones "That's all that really matters"

She smiled at him. The youth stared before he looked at the others who all smiled back, he shook his head and smiled. Hera beamed and moved backwards, she turned to Kanan who nodded

"Alright…" She pushed herself up "We'll leave you three alone"

She walked to the door to where Kanan and Chopper were already leaving.

Moments after the door slid close Sabine scooted further toward Ezra while Zeb stepped toward them "Did you see it?" The girl asked quickly

Ezra was silent until he figured out what the girl meant. He reached beside him and picked up the data-pad "You mean this?"

"What was on it?" Zeb asked curiously

"A… uh… A picture" Ezra said as he looked down at it smiling

"What picture?" Zeb asked again

Sabine gave Zeb and angrily glance which to which he just shrugged in confusion to.

"They were here you know… only for a little while though" Sabine explained

"Yeah… Kanan told me about some stuff that happened" Ezra said looking back to the two "I can kind of remember some stuff that happened… it's still quite blurry though"

"Try not to think about it" Sabine said smiling while narrowing her eye brows in the opposite ways

In the cockpit Hera sat in her chair as Chopper showed the two what he had found from the Imperial building.

"They did go back" Hera read as Kanan stood the other side of Chopper holding his chin with his thumb and finger "Chop" He said "Is there anything about the Inquisitor?"

The astromech beeped and pulled up something else that the Twi'lek and Jedi studied. It wasn't as good as they hoped.

"Well… I think you were right dear" Hera said looking up at Kanan

"…If he survived, why didn't he just come up and kill me and Ezra?" Kanan asked irritation in his voice "I'm sure what you did was enough to knock him out for a while love" Hera said leaning backwards as Chopper turned off the blue light. "Maybe he is still out there… but we've been able to avoid him all this time. We'll just do it again"

Kanan sighed and sat in his seat "He's going to be after Ezra…"

"That's if he knows Ezra is still alive" Hera stated looking at Kanan

He looked up at her who sighed and looked out the window "I'm not saying that they're not going to come after us… But if they do, we're going to fight back" She turned back to Kanan and smiled taking his hands "Just as we've done from the very beginning"

Kanan stared at her before he sighed and smiled. She was right, they'd just have to power through it. But there was no way they were letting Ezra be captured by that Pau'an again.

As the time passed. Sabine and Ezra managed to convince Kanan and Hera to allow Sabine to try and help Ezra walk properly again. It took several hilarious attempts of falling over onto each other or onto Chopper until Ezra finally got the hang of it. Kanan had finally given the boy back his lightsaber after managing to eventually repair it. At first the padawan was a little cautious about having his weapon back in his possession, but overcame this once Hera allowed Ezra to do some practice fire outside the ghost. Things were slowly returning to normal, Kanan had been ordered by Hera to stop Jedi training for a few weeks which he actually agreed with; Ezra had been through enough with the Inquisitor and didn't need any pressure on him. Sabine and Kanan had gone to Ezra's old tower and found an orange shirt and blood orange shirt very similar to the ones Ezra had before they were ruined. The creamish jacket had been stitched up by Hera, she didn't know why she did, but to her… the jacket seemed as though it was something sentimental that needed to be saved, much like Kanan's shoulder gauntlet. The bandage on Ezra's largest wound stayed even after he began to walk around in his normal clothes while the ones on his hands had been removed a while ago replacing them with his old gloves. He felt as things were just like they used to be, like nothing had ever even happened. No one on the crew would ever bring up what happened, not even in secret. It was something they put behind them and Ezra appreciated it. He had moments when the dark memories came back to him, but he always had Hera to talk to, or occasionally to 'cry' to. She never minded, none of them did. They understood what Ezra was put through and never made jokes about it.

It was another day on Lothal, the suns were high in the orangish sky as two members of the ghost stood outside in the space where the ghost had parked shooting at each other with fire that wouldn't harm their opponent. Sabine and Ezra moved around in the grass avoiding the shots aimed for them carefully, jumping over each other or just dodging from right to left. The two loved training together, even when they were mad. They always cheered each up with a bit of blaster training.

Ezra took a shot at Sabine and got her shoulder causing the padawan to laugh "Ha! I win"

"Yeah yeah. You got lucky kid" Sabine said folding her arms as she grinned at him

"Or I'm just getting better than you" Ezra gloated

Sabine rolled her eyes "In your dreams kid"

Ezra laughed back when Zeb appeared on the ramp "Hera's got something to show us" He turned back to the inside of the ship "She doesn't want to be kept waiting"

Sabine and Ezra lowered their arms before looking at each other. They both shrugged then turned and ran toward the ghost. They walked along the ship until coming to the common room. Kanan and Hera were both sitting on the seat going around the table looking at the holo-net at news articles on Lothal, the Twi'lek was muttering things under her breath every now and again. When Hera noticed the two teens enter she straightened "You needed to show us something?" Sabine asked folding her arms as Ezra stood beside her

Hera looked at Kanan before she flipped the article around so it was now facing the two of them. Sabine stepped toward it and began to read it, Ezra meanwhile just stood looking at a picture of them that obviously meant this wasn't a good thing.

"Says here that the empire have some kind of imperial leader coming to Lothal… that's not going to be good for us" Sabine read looking over the article

"It's not going to be good for anyone" Hera said shutting of the screen. She sighed "After our last Charade I doubt the empire are going to stop at nothing until they find us"

"Well then we'll just fight back" Zeb said punching his hand into his fist

"We can't always fight" Kanan said leaning forward "Whoever this is, I doubt they're going to be friendly… we can't let our guard down, we already have the Inquisitor to worry about, this isn't going to make anything any easier"

Ezra watched as he rubbed his neck, turning his head away slightly. He knew what Hera meant by 'There last charade'. It made him feel guilty knowing it was his fault that all went down. Kanan and Hera noticed before the Twi'lek coughed and stood up "But that's not why we called you both"

The mando and padawan turned to Hera quickly both dropping their arms.

"There's a collection of supplies at a town not far from here… they're being guarded by a small selection of imperials… Commandant Aresko and Taskmaster Grint are the head of that little guard system" She looked toward Ezra as if he knew them, which was partly true after Ezra went undercover at the Imperial Academy "We need you both and Kanan to get those supplies on your speeders"

Ezra and Sabine both glanced at each other, before each of them rose a brow while Ezra folded his arms "You're asking us… to go out… basically into imperial hands" Ezra stated "Us. As in. EZRA" Sabine repeated. Kanan chuckled and got up and moved beside Hera "Yes. I know it's a little unexpected… but it's been more than a few weeks, and being kept cramped aboard the ghost isn't helping anybody"

"Of course" Hera said looking at Kanan with a small grin "You don't have to do it if you don't want to"

"NO, we do!" Ezra said quickly as he dropped his arms

"Ha, good. I'll meet you both in the cargo hold" Kanan said folding his arms

Sabine and Ezra looked at each other and smiled before they both left the common room.

Zeb leant against the door to the galley and looked at the two others as they smiled at each other "You're actually going through with this?"

Hera sighed but continued to smile "I guess we are" "We can't keep Ezra locked aboard Zeb"

"I'll be with them, they'll be fine" Kanan said as he headed toward the common room door followed by Hera

They came to the cockpit and Kanan looked down through the window. He could see Sabine and Ezra sorting out there speeders as the suns began to set "Don't go having second thoughts dear" Hera said as she stood beside him noticing as the Jedi folded his arms "I'm not" Kanan said shaking his head with a faint smile "It's just good to see him back to his old self"

Hera smiled and looked down at the two teens; talking as they worked on their speeders.

"That's thanks to you" She said smiling "You saved him"

"Yeah" Kanan said "After he saved me"

Hera smiled "I guess you're both more alike than you think" She turned and put her hand on the man's shoulder "Be careful out there"

Kanan glanced over his shoulder as Hera walked away. He turned back to the window and smiled, they were together again. His small group of rebels. His family.

And nothing the empire could do would break them apart again.
