It was summer and Annie was excited. She had convinced Jack to go with her to the treehouse today just for fun. Morgan had said that she wouldn't be back for at least a week, but the treehouse and the books were still there. Even if the magic wasn't working, it would be a lot of fun to look through the books.

When it was late enough, Annie hopped out of bed and ran to pound on Jack's door.

"Jack!" she called. "Wake up! Treehouse time!"

He grumbled, but said he'd get up. Annie bounced to the bathroom to brush her teeth and get ready to go.

Jack came downstairs while Annie was eating breakfast. He poured himself a bowl of cereal and slid into his seat at the table.

"So, what book do you want to look at first?" he asked between bites of cereal.

"I don't know," Annie mused, considering the question. "Maybe the one about the Civil War? Clara Barton was awesome. Oooh, or maybe the Mozart one. How about you? What are you going to read?"

"Maybe the Egyptian one," Jack answered, thinking. "Or maybe the dinosaur book. It's been a super long time since I looked at that one."

Annie nodded. It had been a long time since they had looked at either of those.

"I'm so excited that Morgan left the treehouse for us this week!"

"Me too." Jack smiled at Annie's excitement. Even without a magic adventure, it was going to be a fun day.
