Hey everyone!

So sorry for the extremely long wait. The reason it took so long to get another chapter online was due to the craziness of the holidays. Not only that but I had to take the LSAT exam again. Wish me luck because I'm gunning for NYU and Duke Law School! Anyways I ended up having no time to sit down and really put my thoughts into words until all that was sorted out. The good news is though I have a lot of good ideas now to further this story into something great. Before I go on to the story I want to clarify some thing to people though who questioned me in the reviews

Naruto being weak- So a few readers interpreted Naruto's use of Zenith Tempest to finish the fight with Yasaka as being weak. I stated he was stronger than Sirzechs so why would he need to use a sacred gear. The answer is simple. He wasn't fighting Yasaka with his true form and powers. Just like Sirzechs who has a sealed form and always hints at his true form Naruto is also that way. The biggest reason why he is that way is because he is trying to hide. If he were to reveal to the world that instead of there being 4 super devils in the world there were actually 5 by showing his true demonic power that would obviously not help his desire to remain anonymous for now. Trust me when I say that I will show you just how powerful he is soon enough. More than that though I have plans for Naruto to grow even stronger. Don't worry though, from the opponents he will face and the goals he has he definitely needs the power boost.

Naruto being able to actually teach Kunou and her seemingly being overpowered- Naruto has taught Kunou hand to hand combat, tactics, meditation and control over her vast pool of power. Not specific attacks or anything. In that regard a hybrid like Naruto can be a great teacher to Kunou which he is. Kunou being very powerful has a point. The story requires her to be strong and not a whiny baby like in the light novels. And if you really think about it her power level is kinda believable. She is the daughter of the most powerful youkai with a genius intellect, who has been training with one of the most powerful beings in existence nearly everyday for almost a year.

Finally, this is of course pre-cannon. I will get to cannon soon though so worry not, everything will connect very swimmingly.

I hoped that shed some light for you all. And of course thank you so much for your reviews and support. On to the story!

This was probably the most awkward lunch Kunou had ever had in her life.

After the spar between her mom and master ended, it was decided lunch should be served. While Naruto was showing excitement at the chance for a good meal, his mood was not mirrored by that of the leader of the Youkai.

Her mom looked for lack of a better word… depressed. Kunou had never seen such a thing before. Her mother was always seemingly an infallible, confident being. She was like a pillar of light that remained in static majesty. Kunou had never seen anything get her so down.

With full respect to the power of her mother though the heiress knew in the back of her mind how the mock battle would end before it even began. Naruto was a creature of boundless power and potential. She had seen glimpses of his true power in the long months she spent training with him. It was like opening your eyes from sleeping and quickly closing them again. It was a fuzzy guess at best but it was enough for Kunou to know that if her mother's power resembled a sea, then Naruto's was a full-blown ocean.

Not only that but the look in his eyes before the fight showed just how much he intended to win, regardless of the repercussions. It happened very seldom, but whenever he was angry. Truly angry, his blood red eye would glow, brimming with power and rage. It honestly is one of the most frightening things she has ever seen.

The most confusing thing of the whole situation was surprisingly not her mother's sorrow, but rather the reaction Naruto had right before the fight.

To Kunou, who viewed her mother as the top of the food chain, the most rational explanation for her behavior is the loss she suffered to Naruto. Her Master's rage prior to the bout was cause for concern. What was the trigger to warrant such a reaction? Before she could fathom the cause further, the very subject of her inquiry soon replaced her thoughts.

"Kunou…" Naruto drawled out, staring at her from the corner of his eye, seemingly reading her mind. Master and student stared back at each other for a full minute before Kunou straightened up and focused on eating.

Yasaka subsequently watched the whole exchange. Outwardly, there was no difference in her demeanor, but inside her solemn attitude morphed into rage as she seethed with feelings of jealousy. To have such a relationship with another that words need not be exchanged… To have such a relationship where respect and affection were so perfectly intertwined… She wanted it. She wanted it with her daughter. It was her right. It was her privilege alone. Why should she be forced to watch another eclipse her? And on such a personal front?!

Unconsciously she began to call upon Senjutsu, gaining curious glances from Kunou and a narrowed stare from Naruto. If only… If only she had accessed the leyline in the beginning and in its true form. There would be nothing left of him. It was that decision, based on arrogance, that lead her to humiliation at the hands of this clown. This pretender. This thief. As if falling into an endless abyss, the mother's aura grew darker by the second.

Naruto quickly realized the situation and looked down on the delicious meal before him with an almost forlorn expression. Looking back up he addressed his student while she was still unaware of what was coming. "Kunou. Leave now. I need to talk to you mother alone. Sigh… god damn it woman. And the food was so good too." The last part was uttered under his breath as the hybrid stood up calmly and walked towards an open area in the dining room. Not a second later, a clattering sound was heard as Yasaka abruptly stood up and started stalking towards the blond.

Kunou blinked, before she began to theorize what her master wanted to talk about. For just a moment Kunou thought to use Senjutsu to try and look into her mother's true feelings only to gasp and back away as Naruto directed his demonic energy at her.

"Kunou. I said leave." Naruto eyes radiated with power as he gave his warning. Nodding slowly the teen left, leaving the huge dining room empty except for the host and guest.

"So you can't take it I guess. Your loss not too long ago." Naruto started, gauging her reaction.

Yasaka growled, her teeth bared, at the man she had grown to hate so much so soon.

"No. That's too shallow for that level of loathing. You are angry at my relationship with your daughter. Rather you are jealous. So much so you are willing to let the one you love most almost see you at your ugliest."

His words cut deeper than anything she had heard before. She had never been so told off. Her parents tended to spoil her and be very protective so nobody had ever so brazenly confronted her with her flaws. She can only dip her head lower as she tried to hold back herself from destroying everything around her. Her voice came out soft yet ragged in a way, as if raw from the emotions coursing through her.

"You… have no idea what you have taken from me… do you?" Her wazy, golden hair obscured her eyes as she stood stalk still.

Naruto cocked his head to the left in curiosity before biting. "And what is it do you believe I have taken Yasaka?"

"Do not say my name so familiarly you bastard!" Yasaka's energy spiked as the room shook. Naruto simply stared silently and waited for her to finish her answer.

"You ask what it is you have taken, but you have realized it already haven't you? There was a reason I was waiting to have Kunou trained. Because I wanted to be the one to do it! I wanted to see her grow! I wanted to help her become unstoppable. To succeed me. To know that I had a hand in making her achieve true power." Yasaka lifted her head to show eyes clouded in regret and anger. She began to walk slowly towards him until they were a foot apart.

"But you… you came so suddenly into her life and I was too busy and foolish to understand what kind of a threat you can actually pose to my future with my only family left. You god damn abomination. Why couldn't leave her alone?! She screamed at the end, using all her strength, she finally laid hands on Naruto, grabbing him by the scruff of his shirt and lifting him up, before throwing him back.

Looking at her hands, Yasaka seemed on the verge of shedding tears, as her shoulders shook in rage.

"I can't try and kill you anymore. You are too strong to kill without blatantly showing my intentions and using the leyline. And that will only set in stone my estrangement to Kunou. But I hate you Naruto. Never forget that. Never forget that we are enemies."

Up until then Naruto had only remained silent but the Kyuubi leader's last words seemed to have shocked him awake from his trance-like state.

I hate you Naruto. Never forget that. Never forget that we are enemies.

The cold light surrounded him. Yasaka's voice was replaced with someone… darker. A figure familiar to his nightmares appeared in her glory. Wings black as night itself, and a cruel smile that will forever be etched in his memories.

His shock was only for a moment but Yasaka caught it. Before she can comment on his reaction, he turned and began to walk out of the room. This only served to anger the mother again.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going! Answer me!" The beautiful vixen stood her ground against her self-proclaimed nemesis as he stopped his pace completely, back to her.

It seemed as if minutes went by when in reality only seconds had passed until he spoke in his usual drawl. "You know… for what its worth… I don't think you're such a bad mother. And you're daughter still loves you very much. She always speaks so highly of you, as if you are on a pedestal she can only hope to elevate to. Whether or not you feel accomplished as a parent or not means absolutely nothing to me, but I thought you should know that when we fought earlier, your fighting style, tactics and tenacity were something that I had already become accustomed to this past year because I was watching Kunou grow. It seems you never left her thoughts."

By the end of his little speech Naruto did not wait to hear a reply as he continued on his way. Yasaka merely let him leave without a word. It was only when she felt his energy fade away that tears began to silently fall down her face.

"So you want to know about your father, eh Naruto?"

"Yes. Please mother. Can you tell me anything about him? After all if he is to be my target then I must know more about him." An eight-year old Naruto knelt in front of his revealed mother. A woman with a beautiful face, long luscious hair and a lustful body, complimenting her status as a fallen. She sat on a thrown staring down at the boy with interest, not unlike a scientist views a new variation of a disease. Fascination with an underlying current of disgust.

"Your father Naruto… is perhaps the strongest devil that is in existence currently. A superdevil who's power is eclipsed only by his sadistic, psychopathic tendencies. A true monster in disguise. More importantly though your father Naruto is someone who you can never hope to defeat at the rate of improvement you're currently on. It would be no point to tell you more now."

As Naruto dipped his head in disappointment he barely managed to sense the hit before it connected, snapping his head back with enough force to send him flying. As he hit the wall behind him, his neck was caught within the confines of his mother's hands before she began to slowly squeeze.

"You know how much you look like him Naruto? It's quite the resemblance you know. Usually just looking at you makes me remember him but now you've gone made me remember some particularly bad things. I think that's grounds for some special training." She began to laugh as Naruto's tiny hands tried to dislodge her own from his neck. He couldn't help but cry out as tears filled his vision. Seeing this made her laugh.

"Do you want to know why this is happening to you? Why you are so cursed? It is simple. You are a disgrace to me. An abomination. An existence that is a mix of what was once one of my greatest enemies. But most importantly, you are weak. You can't stop me because you are weak. The weak do not have the right to decide things for themselves. I am making you suffer because I want to. I hate you Naruto. Never forget that. Never forget that we are enemies…"

Naruto slowly opened his eyes as he surveyed the destruction around him. The forest that once held dozens of trees in this area was something out of a horror film. Blood caked the surrounding area as tree and after tree lay in broken majesty. Naruto's knuckles were squeezed tightly, even as blood continued to flow onto the ground from them.

Looking down at his hands he was suddenly hit with a hunger to unleash all his limiters and kill the world. It was a naïve thought. A thought reminiscent of the tantrum he had just witnessed from the supposed leader of the fucking youkai in Kyoto. After all if anyone felt his power then he really would need to try and kill the world, because they would surely be trying to kill him. As the worst kind of supernatural abomination, created from the worst possible progenitor, such a reaction would be obvious.

"Calm down. God damn it." Getting a cigarette from his jacket pocket he quickly lit it and took a long hit, savoring the nicotine as it worked its own kind of magic on him. Using another hand to pull out his flask he complimented his cigarette with a healthy swig of whatever was inside. Wiping his mouth, his thoughts went back to Yasaka as his eyes became clouded.

His legs suddenly gave out as he landed on his back and stared out above him, his one eye mirroring the color of the sky before him. "Kunou sure is lucky isn't she? Here I first thought it might not be the case and that we were similar but I couldn't be more wrong. That woman… is an immature, petulant, selfish, stubborn vixen. But… she loves her daughter. More than anything…"

Smiling to himself, the blond began the process of drowning himself in alcohol. "Hehe, Yasaka… I wonder which one of us is the more jealous one."

"I can't sense master's presence in the compound anymore. Where did he go?" Kunou mumbled absent-mindedly to herself while sitting in a meditative position in Yasaka's personal dojo.

She never used this place since she always trained in the wilderness with Naruto but when she was younger this was where she always could be found, watching her mother practice and dreaming of days when she can fight in this dojo with equal standing.

The thought brought a small smile to her face. At her current level and rate of progression, perhaps that won't be such a dream anymore. It amazed her how much she grew in just a year. She couldn't thank Naruto enough. He was her master, friend, and even…

Kunou bit her lip before remembering all the times the blond was there for her. Helping her grow, not only in strength, but in wisdom. Yes. Just like a father should.

She resolved herself to look for him then, but her senses alerted her not being alone. Turning around she faced her mother, who merely studied her with an inscrutable expression.

"Mother? Is something wrong?" Kunou cocked her head to the right in a way reminiscent of her master, which brought Yasaka out of her trance.

"Kunou. You always used to watch me here. Remember saying how one day you will challenge me here?" Her mother let out smile from the memories of simpler times as Kunou mirrored her.

"Yes. Of course back then I had no idea just how truly powerful you were. While my training has yielded positive results, I know now that I still have a long way to go before I have right to fight you here." Yasaka just continued to stare at her daughter with wide eyes. She didn't expect such a mature answer. Just how much has she grown while my eyes were off of her? I need to know for sure.

"Kunou… Fight me. Right here and now. I want to see your growth for myself."

Now it was Kunou's turn to be slack-jawed as she couldn't believe what was happening. "Mom. A-are you sure? Aren't you busy?"

Yasaka refrained from frowning at the disbelief on her daughter's face. "Yes I'm sure honey. I want to see how you fight. For the purpose of not destroying this dojo we will limit combat to taijutsu and senjutsu, if you can manage. Now come whenever you are ready."

With that Yasaka slid into a comfortable stance and waited for Kunou to come at her. However, said girl was still reeling from the opportunity given to her. I could show mom how strong I am. I could make her proud of me!

She had been waiting for this since she started sneaking off to train on her own. Now it was finally happening. Maybe if I impress her, she will invest more time on me. In any case, I have to do my best. It's now or never!

With a burst of energy, the younger kitsune youkai blasted from her position straight towards Yasaka, her eyes honed in on her target. While her excitement propelled her to make the first move, the numerous bouts with Naruto made her quickly focus as she reached her destination.

Sending out a kick, Kunou tensed, waiting for her move to be parried. Not disappointing, Yasaka easily met the kick with her right hand before holding onto the extended appendage and swinging it to the side, so to throw Kunou off balance.

Kunou expected this and was already in the process of twisting her whole body to the right, using the torque generating from her body and the force Yasaka placed behind her swing to launch a devastating left kick straight to her mother's face.

Not expecting such ferocity so early, Yasaka was not fully prepared for the kick and as the kick met her crossed hands she flew from her position towards the wall. As she flew, if one looked close enough, a smile was slowly growing on the woman's face.

Right before she was going to hit the wall at a high speed, the older vixen flipped in mid-air, landing the wall with her feet and launching herself at her daughter with a challenging grin on her face. "Is that all? Show me everything!"

Roaring, Kunou met her mother with equal force and began a heavy melee. To the average fighter, it would seem they were evenly matched, but to the highly trained, it was obvious that while Kunou could keep up, she was getting tired fast. Every punch, kick, parry and dodge took a toll as Yasaka was not holding back.

At this rate I'm going to lose without showing her what I'm truly made of. I need to at least make her bleed. I need to fight with my head from now on! Wait! That's it!

Jumping back she wasn't given time to gain her barring before was on her, delivering a hard punch to the stomach, which almost knocked Kunou unconscious. Preparing to finish the battle, Yasaka beamed in pride at her daughter. She had kept up with her for 5 minutes. Not many yukai can do that. In fact the number can probably be counted on two hands. Bringing her fist down she closed her eyes, not wanting to see her inflict pain on her own flesh and blood only to open them in shock when she felt her downwards punch diverted by a kick.

Kunou had held onto Yasaka's arm used to deliver the punch to her stomach and swung downwards, driving her right foot upwards just in time to divert her mother's punch. More than that though was the position she was now in. With her punch diverted and her other arm held down Yasaka found herself vulnerable to the left kick speeding towards her face.

How?! Looking back, Yasaka saw her daughter's smirk right before the punch connected and her eyes widened in realization. She meant to take the punch in order to hold me down. Clever girl. But not enough!

Jerking her head the side, Yasaka barely dodged the kick was sure to cause damage, if not break her nose. Looking down to send a smirk of victory at Kunou, her expression changed to horror when she saw the beam of chakra about to fired from the teen's mouth. This time Yasaka really couldn't dodge unless she used chakra for ninjutsu as well and she didn't want to seriously hurt Kunou accidently.

Caught in a crossroads, Yasaka chose to flinch back and take the hit, but to her surprise, instead of taking a beam of energy to the face she instead was blindsided by the same leg Kunou used to divert her downwards punch. Whereas this kick should have been relatively weak in comparison to the level of taijutsu used so far given the lack of momentum and position of the leg, Yasaka had never been kicked so hard by her daughter before. It was like getting hit by a truck point blank. What was worse was she had her attention completely on the beam and left her guard open to the kick, maximizing damage.

The attack sent her flying away and it was only after a few seconds before Yasaka could right herself in air and land, however this time roughly. Bringing a hand to her face and feeling where the pain was, her hand touched something wet. It was blood. She was nearly two hundred years old and the strongest youkai in Kyoto, yet a child was able to draw first blood….

Looking up at Kunou across the dojo, she saw her lying on her back, unconscious, but with a smile on her face.

Walking up to her, Yasaka used Senjutsu to feel the surrounding area, finding the reason to why the last hit was so powerful and subsequently why Kunou was now unconscious.

Senjutsu. She had been concentrating Senjutsu into her right leg right after she diverted my punch. The left kick was just to guide me the perfect position and the beam was a diversion to release everything in one last spurt. This was… incredibly reckless… but genius. She actually won. I can only imagine what kind of being you will become Kunou. You will truly surpass me. I can't be prouder than I am now.

Breaking away from her thoughts, she realized then who was principally responsible for Kunou's progress and her face twisted into an unreadable expression. On one hand her jealousy resurfaced in full, but on the other hand the mother felt happy though. Simply because there was still many things left to teach her daughter. It seems the blonde was telling the truth when he said he only taught Kunou the fundamentals and control. This provides a great base for her to be taught anything now.

Picking up Kunou and carrying her bridal style, the mother left the dojo to the medical bay for treatment.

As she walked a begrudging appreciation to the hybrid being began to bubble up, before the feeling was squashed down. She wouldn't give the bastard the satisfaction.
