Hello again!

I saw a review that says I'm making Ash oblivious to the concept of love. This a Smarter Ash fic so he's not really oblivious. It's not that Ash is oblivious, even though I made Green really attractive, he's just not attracted to her.

At the start of Ash's journey he will capture a couple of Pokémon to challenge the Pewter Gym because he feels using either Blaziken, Sceptile, or Latios will be unfair since they are already pretty strong.

WARNING: I think I going in a stump here. So I'm sorry if the writing is a little weak.

Enjoy the chapter!

Kanto Gyms Arc: First Captures and Reunions

A couple of hours have passed since Ash left Pallet Town and began his journey. He decided to take a break at a nearby tree for lunch and released Latios, Blaziken, and Sceptile from their Poké Balls. He filled three bowls with Pokémon food which he gave each to the three Pokémon he has with him.

"Ash. I just love your mother's Pokémon food." Latios said telepathically.

"You should. She used to be a Pokémon Trainer when she was young." Ash countered walking towards the tree and sat and leaned on the trunk digging into his backpack. He brought out a sandwich as the three began to ate their food. "Along with my father who I don't know."

"I know. You told me that several times." Latios retorted munching on his food as Ash took a bite of his sandwich.

"I just can't believe mom won't tell me more about him other than he was a Pokémon Trainer. What is it about him that makes her not want to tell me?" Ash said taking another bite.

A few moments later they all finished their lunches and Ash began to pack. Before they got moving Ash suddenly brought Dexter out. "Before we go I'd like to test Dexter since I forgot to do so back at home." He then turned the Pokédex on and pointed it at Blaziken. "We'll start with Blaziken."

"Blaziken, the Blaze Pokémon. In battle, Blaziken blows out intense flames from its wrists and attacks foes courageously. The stronger the foe, the more intensely this Pokémon's wrists burn. This Pokémon is male. Ability: Blaze Current moves: Flamethrower, Sky Uppercut, Flare Blitz, and Thunder Punch." Dexter informed.

"Blaziken!" Blaziken shouted proudly.

Ash then pointed Dexter at Sceptile. "Next is Sceptile."

"Sceptile, the Forest Pokémon. The leaves growing on Sceptile's body are very sharp edged. This Pokémon is very agile—it leaps all over the branches of trees and jumps on its foe from above or behind. This Pokémon is male. Ability: Overgrow Current moves: Leaf Blade, Detect, Bullet Seed, and X-Scissor." Dexter informed.

"Scep." Sceptile said with a smirk.

Ash then pointed Dexter at Latios. "And finally, Latios."

"Latios, the Eon Pokémon. Latios will only open its heart to a Trainer with a compassionate spirit. This Pokémon can fly faster than a jet plane by folding its forelegs to minimize air resistance. This Pokémon is male. Ability: Levitate Current moves: Dragon Breath, Luster Purge, Protect, and Shadow Ball." Dexter informed.

"I am pretty impressive if I do say so myself." Latios gloated.

"Don't be smug." Ash retorted as he deactivated and pocketed Dexter. "Okay. Let's get moving. I wanna get to Viridian City before tomorrow morning." He then saw something fly over the group which landed and turned to see a small brown bird Pokémon searching around for prey. "Wow! A Pidgey!" He then brought Dexter out and pointed it at the Pidgey.

"Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. It is docile and prefers to avoid conflict. If disturbed, however, it can ferociously strike back." Dexter informed.

Ash pocket Dexter and focused his attention on the Pidgey. "Pidgey evolves into Pidgeotto. Then Pidgeotto evolves into Pidgeot and Pidgeot are known for their speed in the sky and can create windstorms with a few flaps of their beautiful wings. A Pokémon like that will be perfect for our team."

"You going to catch it?" Latios asked telepathically.

"It depends." Ash then turned towards the three Pokémon with a serious look. "Sceptile. C'mere please." Sceptile stepped forward toward Ash with said boy doing the same until they got close enough for Ash to talk to it. "I want you to battle with that Pidgey, but I want you to use like 1% of your power. And don't dodge any of its attacks. I want to see what it is capable of."

"Scep." Sceptile growled looking at Ash with a face that's as if it was asking if he was insane.

"I know that you are too proud to do that, but you three are currently my most powerful Pokémon and I don't want to count on you guys for everything. What fun would that be? Besides I want to see the spirit of battle in that Pidgey. Would you do that for me?"

Sceptile was hesitant because, just as Ash said, he was too proud to do something like this. He would always take battling seriously and against strong opponents. He was about to reply back before Blaziken's voice cut in.

"Blaziken!" Blaziken stated making both Ash and Sceptile turn to the Blaze Pokémon. They see that Blaziken wants to volunteer to do it.

"You'll do it Blaziken?" Ash asked.

"Blaze!" Blaziken nodded in confirmation. Sure he is also a proud fighter. But for Ash he would willingly swallow that pride to do anything he asks because he is very loyal to his Trainer.

"Scep." Sceptile took up on Blaziken's offer to switch and walked back with Blaziken and past each other to get to Latios and Blaziken to Ash.

"Well I guess this is okay. It doesn't really matter who battles. I just wanna see if that Pidgey has spirit." Ash said.

"Blaziken." Blaziken nodded once again walking towards the Pidgey, but stopped when it got close enough in front of it alerting the bird Pokémon. The Pidgey didn't look afraid of Blaziken as it got into battle position ready to strike.

"The Pidgey has guts." Ash commended.

"Funny. Dexter said that Pidgey prefer to avoid conflict, but this one seems to rather enjoy fighting." Latios added.

Ash chuckled at that comment. "Looks that way. I love a Pokémon that has a spirit of battling."

"We know."

The Pidgey sunk one of its wings on the ground and tossed some dirt at Blaziken which hit him straight on the chest not doing much. "That was a Sand Attack." Ash observed.

Pidgey then took to the sky with a flap of its wings and did it at high speed which created a small tornado that enveloped Blaziken trying to suck him up, but he didn't budge without even struggling to hold his ground. "Now it's Gust." Latios added.

Pidgey then dashed towards Blaziken leaving a white trail as it was going faster than it normally would. "Quick Attack." As the Pidgey got nearer Blaziken just put his arm up as a shield and pushed the bird back a little, repelling the Quick Attack. "Quite an impressive set of moves."

"Blaziken." Blaziken nodded in agreement.

Pidgey's next move surprised everyone. It spread its wings which glowed white and shined as much as steel. It then dived down at Blaziken and struck him before returning to the air with the attack dying down. After the attack hit, Blaziken just shook it off as he was part Fire-type and it didn't really hurt.

"Did you see that?" Ash asked Latios still gaping at what he saw.

"I sure did! That was Steel Wing! A Steel-type move!" Latios exclaimed also gaping. While they were talking the Pidgey kept pelting Blaziken with Steel Wing over and over again with Blaziken standing there easily enduring the attacks. "It is outmatched, but it will willingly keep fighting no matter how tough the opponent."

Ash nodded with a smirk. "Now that's the kind of Pokémon I want in our team." He says as Pidgey kept hitting Blaziken with Steel Wing. "We've seen enough. Blaziken."

"Blaziken." Blaziken nodded once more as Pidgey charged in for another Steel Wing. Blaziken held out his left hand blocking the attack which made it cancel and left Pidgey defenseless. He then used the middle of the three fingers to flick the bird on its forehead with a force strong enough to knock it into a tree and slid down with swirls for its eyes completely unconscious.

Ash brought a Poké Ball out from his pocket and pressed the button in the middle to enlarge it and pointed it at the unconscious Pidgey. "Go Poké Ball!" He threw the ball at Pidgey which hit the bird and sucked it in by red flash after opening. When it closed and hit the ground the ball began to shake. Once. Twice. Third. And 'ding' meaning the capture was successful.

Ash walked over to the sealed ball and scooped it up. "Capture success! I got Pidgey!" He shouted excitedly holding out the ball.

"It's always good to have another spirited partner in our team." Latios commented with a smile. "No matter how ridiculous or humiliating the capture was."

"Ha ha. Very funny." Ash snarked sarcastically. He then looked at the ball again with a smile. "Come on out Pidgey!" He threw the ball which opened and a blue light came out which took form of the Pidgey not unconscious anymore with a squawk. He then let his arm out so that Pidgey can land on it.

"Hey there Pidgey. My name is Ash." Ash introduced bringing out a handful of Pokémon food he somehow got from nowhere. "And I'm your new Trainer." Pidgey reluctantly took a piece of the food and gobbled it down. It chirped delighted with the taste of the food and munched down on some more making Ash chuckle. "You like my mother's special Pokémon food, huh. I'm glad." Ash scratched Pidgey under its left wing making the bird coo in happiness. "From now on you, me, Latios, Blaziken, and Sceptile will be a team."

Ash made it to a spot overlooking Viridian City before night came, but it was sunset after capturing the Pidgey and recalling everyone into their Poké Balls. He is currently looking over the city that is bathed in the sunset. "There it is. Viridian City. And we made it before night."

"I'm surprised you didn't get any training in to the Pidgey." Latios said from within his Poké Ball.

"I want to capture one more Pokémon before going to train for the Pewter City Gym." Ash telepathically responded.

"Doesn't Viridian City have a Gym?"

"Yeah. I bet you, Blaziken, and Sceptile could beat it, but that Gym prefers challenges from Trainers with seven badges. So we will collect seven badges first and then come back here for the eighth."

"I see."

"We better head to the Pokémon Center before the sun fully sets and night comes." With that Ash began to sprint into the city as the sun starts to go down again.

By the time night falls Ash made it to the Pokémon Center which was not that hard to find as it was a large building in the shape of a dome with a big red P on top. The inside of the building is just as huge with a pretty, pink haired nurse behind a counter with a pink, egg-shaped Pokémon wearing a nurses hat coming out with a stretcher that has a Rattata sitting on it as the Trainer called it in a Poké Ball.

Ash walked over to the counter as the Trainer walked past him where the nurse noticed him. "Hello and welcome to the Pokémon Center. I'm Nurse Joy. Do you have any Pokémon that needs to be treated?" She greeted with a genuine smile.

"Yeah. Just these two." Ash replied bringing out Blaziken's and Pidgey's Poké Ball. "Although they kind of need more of a examination than a treatment."

"No problem." Nurse Joy assured still smiling bringing out a tray with six Poké Ball sized craters and set it down on the counter. "Just place them right in the tray and we will do our job."

"Okay." Ash placed the balls on two of the craters as the nurse placed it on the stretcher with the egg-shaped Pokémon. He then took Dexter out from his pocket to scan the Pokémon.

"Chansey, the Egg Pokémon. It is said to deliver happiness. Being compassionate, it shares its eggs with injured people." Dexter informed once again. With that Nurse Joy and Chansey walked into a hallway with the Chansey pushing the stretcher. After they left Ash walked into the lobby with Dexter still in his hand and sat on one of the seats. When he did he began to hit some numbers on the screen.

"What're you doing?" Latios asked from his Poké Ball.

"I'm gonna call my mother. Tell her how I am doing and ask her about once again. Hopefully she'll answer me this time." Ash telepathically responded as he finished punching in the numbers.

A few moments of the ringing the screen revealed the living room in Ash's house with Deila on the screen wearing a robe and had her hair flowing down. "Ketchum residence." She greeted with a smile.

"Hey mom!" Ash greeted with his own smile.

"Ash! Hey sweetie! How are you doing? Where are you right now?" Delia asked with excitable pride.

"I'm fine mom. I'm in the Pokémon Center in Viridian City."

"Wow! You just started your journey today and you already made it to Viridian City!" Delia exclaimed with gleam in her eyes.

"I only caught one Pidgey and decided to skip the training until I get another Pokémon to add in my team. Which is why I made it here in a day."

"But still it took your father four days to get to Viridian City from Pallet. If he was here he'd be so proud of you right now."

Ash replaced the smile with a frown when his mother mention his father. "Yeah. About my father. Today I reminded Latios how that every time I mentioned my dad you either avoid it or try to change the subject and just tell me he was a great Pokémon Trainer."

Delia kept smiling, but it's more nervous than pride as she was trying to restrict herself from chuckling from the the nervousness. "He is. He was an amazing Pokémon Trainer."

"I know that. That's what you always tell me. If there's more about him I need to know." Ash argued.

"He is a great Trainer and a good man. That's all you need to know." Delia argued back.

"But mom-"

"Why don't you give Professor Oak a call? He would love to know what you are doing! Okay, bye!" Delia frantically said as the screen turned blank.

Ash couldn't believe what his mother just did I and gaped. "I don't believe it. She hung up on me. My mother actually hung up on me. What kind of mother hangs up on her own son?" He telepathically said to Latios.

"You got me." Latios replied.

"I can't believe my mother won't tell me more about my father. I have a right to know about him."

"Maybe she won't tell you for your own protection."

"I'm 15. I should be able to handle whatever fact my father is."

"I know you will, but I think your mother doesn't."

Just then Dexter began to ring meaning someone was trying to call Ash. He hit the answer button and the screen turned into Professor Oak's lab with said professor on the line, but not on the right way he was supposed to be. "Hello? Ash? You did pick up, right? I can't see you."

Ash chuckled at the professor's silliness. "That's because I can only see the back of your head professor."

"Huh?" Professor Oak turned his head at the camera at the back and saw Ash. "Aw man. Give me a minute. I never get this thing right." The screen went fuzzy for a moment and came back on to reveal the professor's face. "Better?"

Ash nodded. "Much better."

"Great! I see Dexter's phone setting is working just fine!" Professor Oak observed with a smile.

"Yep! And the Pokédex setting as well! I scanned Blaziken, Sceptile, and Latios and it told me their entries and personal information like genders and moves!"

"Good! I'm glad everything is working out! You don't know how hard it was for me to get the information needed to make that setting as International! So how are you doing?"

"Well a great thing just happened to me today! I caught a Pidgey that knows Steel Wing!"

Professor Oak widened his eyes in shock while still smiling. "That's unbelievable! Do you know how rare it is to capture one of those kinds of Pokémon?! Not even some of the greatest Trainers can find at least one of them!"

"Well since I've found one does that make me a great Trainer?!" Ash asked excitedly.

"You were already a great Trainer when you befriended Latios, Blaziken, and Sceptile. Catching a Pokémon with a rare move just made you better. You keep doing what you're doing and you'll be a great Pokémon Master."

"You really think I can be a Pokémon Master?" Ash asked with hope in his voice.

Professor Oak nodded. "I don't think. I know you will be a Pokémon Master. Just remember this important detail. The key to being a good Trainer and win battles is to have a strong bond between you and your Pokémon."

Ash nodded in agreement. "Right. Thanks professor."

"Oh. Before you go I'd like to give you one more piece of information." Professor Oak said remembering something from his head. "Were you planning on registering for the Pokémon League in the Pokémon Center you're in now?"

"Yeah. Why?" Ash asked wiping the smile off his face to turn it to a confused one.

"Don't worry about that. I was afraid that Dexter wouldn't be able to be scanned for registration. So I registered you for the Pokémon League before you left."

Ash widened his eyes in amazement. "Really?" Professor Oak's only response was a nod making Ash smile once again. "Thanks again professor."

"Anytime my boy."

"Ash Ketchum! Come to the counter to pick up your Pokémon!" Nurse Joy called when she got back behind the counter getting Ash's attention.

"Gotta go professor! Call you later!" Ash said hitting the 'End Call' button making the screen go blank as the call ended. He then stood up from the seat and walked to the counter and grabbed the Poké Balls from the tray. "So they're healthy?"

"Yes. None of them had any serious damage including your Blaziken." Nurse Joy informed with a small nod. "I gotta say it's quite rare for any Trainer native in Kanto to have a Pokémon that is from another region. If people found out you would be the talk of the news. You'd be having the paparazzi swarming you." She added with a serious face.

"I am aware of that."

Nurse Joy then smiled once again. "Luckily I don't give out personal information on a Trainer unless if I really have to. So your secret's safe."

Ash nodded. "Thanks. One more thing. I'd like to rent a room here for the night."

"No problem. We don't just heal Pokémon here. We always provide rooms for Pokémon Trainers to stay." Nurse Joy said bringing out a key and handing it to Ash which said boy accepted in his hand.

"Thanks again Nurse Joy. See you in the morning." Ash said as he walked past the counter into the hallway.

When Ash made it to his room which consisted of a desk and two bunks beds for some reason he immediately took off his hoodie, shoes, socks, and put all of his Poké Balls on the desk leaving him with the dark gray t-shirt and pants barefooted. He brought Dexter out from his pocket once more as he sat on one of the bottom beds.

"Who're you calling now?" Latios asked once more from inside his Poké Ball.

"I'm gonna give Steven a call and see if he finished those errands of his." Ash telepathically responded tampering with the phone setting once again.

"It's late. Don't you think he's sleeping by now?" Latios felt Ash's glare at him or more like his Poké Ball with the psychic connection between the two. "Stupid question. Go ahead and call him."

With that Dexter began to ring once again with Ash waiting for Steven to pick up. A few moments later, instead of an image of a person, it was one of a speaker. "Hello?" Steven's voice picked up.

"Hey Steven!" Ash greeted with a smile.

"Oh, hello Ash! How're you doing?"

"Just made it to Virdian City after capturing a special Pidgey. Are you talking to me through a PokéNav by any chance?" Ash asked looking at the speaker icon.

"Yeah. Why do you ask?" Steven asked sounding a little bit confused.

"Uh, no reason." Ash replied sheepishly. "Anyway have you finished those errands yet?"

"I'm almost done. When I do I will immediately come to Kanto." Steven assured.

Ash's face turned serious as his his mentor said that. "Do you really think you can find some clues to the answer of Mega Evolution in Kanto?"

He heard Steven sigh from the other end. "I'm not sure. By any chance we should find a few clues to lead us."

"Well I can assure you that I will help any way I can."

"I know you will. It might help if you run into Mega Evolution trainers while you're on your journey. Then we'll know what other Pokémon are capable of Mega Evolution." Steven advised.

"Got it." Ash replied with a nod. "Do you know when you'll be here?"

"I should be done in a few days. You can wait until then." Steven answered.

Ash nodded once again. "Right. I'll see you then." He then pressed the 'End Call' button making the speaker icon disappear from his screen.

"Do you really think Kanto has something to do with Mega Evolution?" Latios asked as Ash pocketed Dexter.

"We may never know. I mean I want to know more about Mega Evolution as much as Steven does. But all we can do to help is to encounter and battle other Mega Evolution trainers on our journey." Ash answered sounding unsure.

"If we can find one here in Kanto."

"Did I say we would here?" Ash countered with a smirk. "Anyway we will need to leave for the Viridian Forest tomorrow if we're going to Pewter City."

"Right." Both Trainer and Pokémon then proceeded to call it a night to continue their journey tomorrow.

The morning came and Ash and Latios went out the Virdian City Pokémon Center and into the Viridian Forest after going to get the supplies they will be needing (food, water, all other important stuff). Ash decided to capture another Pokémon still believing that using Latios, Blaziken, and Sceptile is unfair as they are too powerful and that Pidgey wouldn't be strong enough to handle more than one Pokémon. What they don't know is that they will meet someone who will make the journey more interesting.

Right now Ash and the Pokémon are currently eating lunch as it was noon now so they decided to stop in the woods. After finishing eating Ash returned Blaziken and Sceptile with Latios still out floating in the air. "Do you know what type of Pokémon the Pewter Gym uses?" Latios asked as Ash packed up.

"I heard the Gym Leader uses Rock-types." Ash replied turning to Latios putting his backpack on. "Since Steel Wing is a Steel-type move and Steel-type moves are strong against Rock-types I will have Pidgey battle."

"What if the Gym uses more than one Pokémon? You can't really rely on Pidgey to defeat them all." Latios added.

"I know." Ash said cupping his chin in thought.

Meanwhile a young, beautiful girl about Ash's age and a few inches shorter than him at the height of 5 feet and 5 inches with long, beautiful blonde hair tied up in a ponytail was walking through the same trees when she noticed the raven-haired boy and blue and white bird-like Pokémon. She wears a black long-sleeve shirt and jeans under a yellow dress with a green border and a wide brown belt. She also dons purple boots on her feet.

Standing next to the girl is a small, yellow, mouse Pokémon with two red circles on its cheeks with the end of its tail heart-shaped and a flower bow on its left ear. "Chu?" The Pokémon squeaked looking at the girl.

"I can't help it Chu. I know I've seen that boy before. And I certainly have never seen that Pokémon before." The girl informed still watching the boy and the Pokémon. "The question is how do I know him."

"I guess I could catch at least one more Pokémon that might stand a chance against Rock-types or knows a move that is strong against them." Ash replied turning his back from Latios to the direction where the girl is not really knowing she was there.

The girl widened her eyes when she saw Ash's face. "No way! It's Ash!"

"Pikachu?" Chu asked confused still looking at its Trainer.

The girl looked towards her Pikachu with a smile. "Ash is an old friend when I was a child." She then turned her attention back to the now identified Ash. "I can't believe how much he has changed. And what is that Pokémon with him?"

"Chu!" Chu squeaked to its Trainer in encouragement.

The girl turned to the Pokémon and blushed. "You're telling me to just go over there and say 'hello'?" Chu nodded in confirmation with a smile. After seeing the nod she went back to Ash's direction who just turned back to his Pokémon. "I guess I could. But what if he doesn't remember me?"

"Pika Pika!" Chu shouted once again in encouragement.

The girl put her finger on her lips with them in a shushing motion. "He might hear you. Well I guess I could give it a shot." She then ran in the direction towards Ash with Chu hopping onto her shoulder.

"I guess I could use one of my TMs. The only problem is to find the Pokémon that is compatible." Ash said while bringing out Latios' Poké Ball. "I mean most of the Pokémon that reside here are Bug-types and I'm not sure any of them will be capable of learning attacks that are strong against Rock-types."

"Yeah that can be a problem." Latios agreed as Ash pointed his Poké Ball at him.

Before Ash got a chance to return Latios a female voice called out to him calling his name. "Ash!" The boy turned lowering the ball with Latios also looking on as the girl from before was running towards them with a Pikachu that has a flower on its ear on her shoulder while waving with her left arm.

Ash's eyes widened as the girl got to him looking like he recognized her. "Yellow?"

The girl, now identified as Yellow, smiled as Ash remembered her name. "You remembered me!" She exclaimed as she suddenly hugged him as the Pikachu hopped off of her shoulder.

Ash hugged her back with a blush and smile. "How could I forget you? You were one of my best friends."

"Were?" Yellow playfully looked offended as she pushed him away a little with a smile. "Still am. No matter how long we haven't seen each other."

"Oh." Ash said forgetting that Latios was still with him.

"Oh? Oh what? And what is that Pokémon?" Yellow questioned over and over again.

Ash turned back to Yellow with a sheepish grin. "I guess it has been too long since we've spoke to each other. Yellow, this my partner and brother Latios."

Yellow looked confused at that statement. "Brother?"

"We're not really brothers, but we are just as close." Ash answered before going back to the introduction. "Latios, this is Yellow one of my childhood friends."

"You never mentioned you have another childhood friend other than Red and Green." Latios said eyeing Ash suspiciously.

"I know." Ash replied as he turned back to Latios sheepishly. "I guess it never came up."

"How can you talk to Latios when he didn't say anything?" Yellow asked with Chu just as confused.

Ash turned back to Yellow once again not looking sheepish anymore. "For me to answer that I would have to start with the beginning first.

(TIMESKIP)

For about a few minutes Ash told Yellow how he met Latios and how the two can communicate to each other while sitting by the trunk of a tree with Chu sitting on Yellow's lap and Latios lying next to Ash while listening in.

"Wow." Yellow breathed out after the explanation.

Ash nodded. "Yep. Because of our bond we can communicate telepathically with each other. So can my mom and everyone else who are close with Latios."

"So cool!" Yellow exclaimed looking excited.

Ash nodded once again. "Now. Enough about me. You changed."

Yellow blushed after that compliment. "You really think so?"

"Yeah. You look beautiful."

Yellow's blush deepened after being called that. "Thanks. It means a lot coming from you."

Ash then took a look at the Pikachu on Yellow's lap and carefully scratched behind its ear to which the little mouse let out a 'Chaa!' in delight. "And where did you get this Pikachu?"

Yellow looked down at Chu with a smile and her blush gone. "My uncle gave her to me before I left home. I named her Chu."

"Adorable nickname." Ash complimented once again still petting Chu which the Pikachu enjoys.

"Okay. Enough with the flirting." Latios teased with a smirk.

"I'm not flirting." Ash telepathically argued with a small blush of embarrassment.

"And it's just Chu my uncle gave me." Yellow added snapping Ash out of his stupor.

"Huh?" Ash breathed out as he stopped petting Chu.

"He gave me one more Pokémon." Yellow replied taking out a Poké Ball from her belt.

"He gave you two Pokémon?" Ash asked in disbelief.

"Actually no. He told me to give this little one to a Trainer that it may seem worthy because of its personality." Yellow added looking back at Ash. "I don't even know what Pokémon is in here. My uncle told me not to release it until I have found that special Trainer for it."

"Well what are you waiting for? Let's see it!" Ash exclaimed excitedly.

"Pika!" Chu exclaimed in agreement.

"I for one am very interested to see what the mystery Pokémon is." Latios said looking towards Yellow. He knows she can't hear him because he just met her and they're not really close, but he felt he needed to say it anyway.

"I told you. I can't release the Pokémon until I find a worthy Trainer." Yellow reminded before remembering Ash's Latios which made an imaginary light bulb appear in her head. "Although with the bond between you and Latios you might be worthy after all." She then stood up making Chu jump off her lap before looking at Ash once again. "Are you sure about this?"

Ash nodded in confirmation. "I want to know what Pokémon is in there."

Yellow looked away from Ash and sighed to calm her nerves. "Okay. Here goes nothing." She then threw the ball in the air which opened releasing a blue light which took form of a Pokémon. The Pokémon is a mammalian, quadruped creature with primarily brown fur. The tip of its bushy tail and its large furry collar are cream-colored. It has short, slender legs with three small toes and a pink paw pad on each foot. It also has brown eyes, long pointed ears, and a small black nose.

"Eevee." The Pokémon said as it opened its eyes. Once they were on the group it immediately went into a defensive position while growling.

The group was surprised at what the Pokémon was making Ash stand up gaping. "It's an Eevee!" He exclaimed before bringing Dexter out from his pocket intending to scan the Eevee.

"No way." Yellow breathed out in disbelief.

"Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. Eevee has an unstable genetic makeup that suddenly mutates due to the environment in which it lives. Radiation from various stones causes this Pokémon to evolve." Dexter informed with an image of Eevee on the screen.

Ash pocketed Dexter and then turned to Yellow still surprised. "Your uncle wanted you to give away an Eevee?"

"I'm just as surprised as you are." Yellow replied.

"Except this little one is different from the other Eevee." Latios telepathically added still looking at the Eevee.

"Vui Vui!" Eevee shouted with a daring voice.

"I think Eevee is challenging us." Ash deduced making Yellow turn to him.

"That must be why my uncle told me to give this Pokémon to a worthy Trainer as he knows that I'm not much into battling." Yellow deduced thinking that it all makes sense now.

"Pika." Chu breathed out while nodding in agreement.

"You're correct. Eevee wants to test you to see if you're worthy to be her Trainer." Latios confirmed.

Ash turned to Latios looking surprised once again. "Her? Eevee's a girl?"

"I'm just as surprised as you."

"Vui Vui!" Eevee challenged once again.

"I think Eevee is getting impatient." Yellow commented seeing the Eevee's rather... impatient look on her face.

"Chu." Chu said agreeing with her Trainer once again.

Ash smirked before bringing out a Poké Ball. "Then we don't want to keep it waiting." He then walked forward and stopped when he got in front of Yellow.

Eevee smirked after seeing the Trainer in front of her and leaped back ready to battle. "Vui Vui!" She called out to her opponent.

"Eevee's telling you to bring it on." Latios telepathically informed.

"Yeah. I noticed." Ash telepathically replied back as he enlarged the Poké Ball in his hand. "Watch this Yellow. I just caught this little not too long ago." He informed using his normal voice. "Let's go!" He then threw the ball which opened releasing the beam of light that turned into Pidgey. Pidgey squawked as it spread its wings while in the air.

Yellow looked surprised at that. "A Pidgey?"

Ash nodded. "We haven't started battling together so this is going to be its first battle since it was caught. Plus this Pidgey isn't like normal ones."

"What do you mean?" Yellow asked sounding confused as Chu climbed up to her left shoulder.

"Just watch and you'll see what I mean."

"I'd cut the conversation short because Eevee just made her move." Latios interrupted as Eevee dashed towards Pidgey.

"Eevee is using Tackle. In that case we'll use Sand Attack!" Ash commanded as Pidgey dove down to the ground and dug its wing into the dirt and threw it to the incoming Eevee. The dirt hit Eevee's eyes temporarily blinding it as Pidgey flew up before she made her Tackle hit.

Eevee wiped the dirt off her eyes and glared at the Pidgey in the air fiercely. "Vui."

"I think you made Eevee angry." Yellow commented nervously.

"Pika." Chu said sounding nervous as well.

Eevee suddenly turned around and wags her tail at Pidgey who was just looking confused. "Eevee's using Tail Whip." Ash deduced.

"It's okay Ash. Because nothing has happened." Latios telepathically replied.

"What do you mean?" Ash telepathically asked.

"Tail Whip is a move that lowers the opponent's Defense. If that were to happen then Pidgey would have been surrounded by a red aura that signifies down meaning a stat has been decreased. That is not the case with Pidgey." Latios informed.

Ash watched on the battlefield as nothing has happened after the Tail Whip attack making him widen his eyes in shock. "You're right! But how is that possible? That shouldn't happen unless if-"

"Pidgey's ability is Big Pecks." Latios finished just as surprised.

"Big Pecks." Ash breathed out in astonishment.

"What?" Yellow asked getting Ash's attention.

"My Pidgey has the ability Big Pecks! Tail Whip didn't do anything to Pidgey!" Ash replied shocking Yellow, Chu, and Eevee.

"No way! A Pidgey with Big Pecks is considered really rare!" Yellow exclaimed. "Is that why it's special?"

"No. That's not why. You'll just have to watch to see what it is." Ash replied as Pidgey lowered itself close to the ground in front of Eevee.

Eevee began to make a cute face while charmingly staring at Pidgey which made the Tiny Bird Pokémon blush while being surrounded by a red aura that signifies going down. "What was that?!" Yellow exclaimed.

"Charm is a move that sharply lowers the opponent's Attack. Big Pecks only work on moves that decreases Defense. This is bad." Ash replied before looking at Pidgey again. "Pidgey, blow Eevee away with Gust!" Pidgey complied by flapping its wings rapidly creating the small tornado that enveloped Eevee and blew her away in it.

"Vui!" Eevee exclaimed in pain as the tornado dispersed making her fall and crash on the ground.

"Gust is a Special Attack. Charm only affects physical Attack. So therefore even if you lowered Pidgey's Attack it won't matter if it uses Gust." Ash informed as Eevee steadily stood up. She then dashed towards Pidgey once again intending to ram it. "Eevee's using Tackle again. Quick, counter it with Steel Wing!" Pidgey made its wings glow metallic white and clashed with Eevee's Tackle.

Both Yellow and Chu were shocked. "Your Pidgey can use Steel Wing?!"

"Pikachu!" Chu exclaimed.

"You bet! Pidgey knew the move when we first met!" Ash replied as Pidgey's Steel Wing overpowered Eevee and her Tackle striking her as she skid back.

After composing herself Eevee smirked clearly impressed with Pidgey's power. "Vui Vui. Vui Vui Vui."

"Eevee's saying that she is not finished yet and she still has her trump card." Latios informed to Ash.

"What do you think she meant about a trump card?" Ash telepathically asked with a confused face. He got his answer when Eevee lifted her tail up and made it glow in the same metallic white shocking everyone around her.

"Is that what I think it is?" Yellow asked in disbelief.

"That's Iron Tail!" Ash exclaimed with his eyes still widened in shock.

"Pika!" Chu exclaimed as shocked as everyone else including Latios.

After preparing the Iron Tail Eevee leaped up towards Pidgey, flipped, and then slammed the tail onto the Tiny Bird Pokémon causing it to crash down to the ground. "Pidgey!" Ash shouted in concern as Eevee landed on the ground with her feet. Pidgey stood up and spread its wings ready to get back in the battle.

"Now it makes sense. Eevee is so proud of her power so she wanted a Trainer that can handle her power. She hasn't been able to find one until she was unexpectedly caught by Yellow's uncle. Knowing that neither he or his niece can train her he handed her to Yellow to go out to find the worthy Trainer. And that leads up to here." Latios deduced.

"And you think that's me?" Ash telepathically asked once again.

"Why wouldn't it be you? After all you raised two powerful Pokémon and befriended me. You just need to have Eevee see that you are the Trainer she was looking for."

Ash mentally smirked after that. "Then it looks like I found a new teammate."

Eevee's tail glowed once again and charged towards Pidgey. "Watch out! It's going for another Iron Tail!" Yellow warned in concern.

"Counter it with Steel Wing!" Ash commanded getting Pidgey to glow its wings once again and charged towards the incoming Eevee. The attacks clashed head on trying to cancel each other out until they caused an explosion sending strong shockwaves around the field causing Yellow to stand her ground and Chu to hang on tight to her.

Eevee was pushed back from the smoke after the power of the explosion. From the smoke Pidgey came out dashing towards her with Steel Wing once again. Eevee was so surprised she didn't have time to dodge as she was struck by the attack sending her rolling/skidding on the ground. When she stopped her eyes were swirled while she was lying down indicating that she has been defeated.

(TIMESKIP)

After the battle Ash tended to Eevee's injuries with a Super Potion after he was done patching up Pidgey who is now perched on his right shoulder and Latios floating next to him. "You were amazing Eevee! I gotta say I was pretty surprised when you know Iron Tail!" Ash praised as he scratched behind Eevee's ear after treating her. Eevee seemed to enjoy the ear scratching even though she thought she was supposed to be upset that she lost.

"Looks like Eevee has taken a shine to you." Yellow commented peeking over Ash's shoulder to look at Eevee.

"Pika!" Chu nodded from her Trainer's shoulder.

"Not just yet." Ash said as he stopped scratching Eevee and making Yellow and Chu confused. "Eevee." Eevee looked up at Ash after he called her name. "You were looking for a Trainer that you deem worthy enough to train you and your power, am I right?"

"Eevee." Eevee replied with a nod implying that Ash's statement is correct.

"She confirmed it." Latios translated.

"No duh Captain Obvious." Ash telepathically remarked. "And after everything today do you find that worthy one in me?" Eevee, after seeing the teamwork between Ash and his Pidgey and that he has a powerful Pokémon (Latios) with him, nodded in confirmation making Ash smile. "That's great! I could always have a Pokémon like you in my team!" Ash said putting a hand out to Yellow.

Yellow took the hint and grabbed Eevee's Poké Ball. "Here's Eevee's Poké Ball." She then put the ball in the open hand which Ash graciously took.

"Eevee. I proved myself to you and I'm grateful that you chose me to be your Trainer. I know we will make a good team. I'll ask this once. Are you sure you want to come with me?" Ash asked enlarging the Poké Ball.

"Vui Vui!" Eevee confirmed with a nod.

"Why do you even ask? You told me you wanted Eevee in the first place." Latios remarked.

Ash ignored the remark and pointed the ball at Eevee still smiling. "Welcome to the team Eevee." With that the red beam from the button enveloped Eevee and sucked her into the ball.

"That's so cool!" Yellow exclaimed as Ash stood up still holding the Poké Ball containing Eevee.

"That makes the second Pokémon to be my friend and will battle at the Pewter City Gym." Ash commented as he shrunk the ball and clipped it onto his belt. He then I clipped Pidgey's Poké Ball and pointed it at the Flying-type on his shoulder. "Return Pidgey!" The red beam then absorbed Pidgey in the ball like it did with Eevee.

"Where're you going?" Yellow asked as Ash clipped the ball back onto his belt.

"I'm heading out of the forest to get to Pewter City." Ash answered turning to the blonde. "Why do you ask?"

Yellow blushed after he asked that trying to find the right words to say. "Well I was wondering..." She then took a deep breath and exhaled deeply. "Can I go with you on your journey? And can Chu come too?"

"Pika!" Chu pleaded also wanting to go with them.

That question surprised both Ash and Latios. "You really want to travel with me?"

Yellow frantically nodded her head still blushing. "The meaning of my journey is to travel around Kanto and meet all of the different Pokémon. I thought it would be more fun if I do it with one of my best friends."

"Looks like to me that she wants to be more than friends." Latios teased before thinking of another, but practically the same, way to tease his brother. "And from what I've heard from you you also want the same thing."

"Would you cut it! Sure I did have a crush on her when we were little." Ash telepathically remarked blushing. And it wasn't just Ash who had a crush on Yellow.

"Can I please go with you?" Yellow pleased to her childhood crush with beady eyes.

"Chu." Chu pleaded with her Trainer.

Ash smiled as he couldn't resist those faces. "No need to tell me twice. Of course you can come."

Yellow and Chu both beamed up in excitement. "Really?!"

Ash nodded in confirmation. "Sure. The more the merrier. Besides it will be fun to travel with a good friend."

Yellow suddenly hugged Ash in happiness making the boy blush once again. "I know it will."

As soon as Yellow separated the hug Ash turned to Latios with a smile. "Alright. Not that that's settled." He then unclipped Latios' custom Poké Ball with a blue top with the red triangle and pointed it at the Eon Pokémon.

"That's a cool Poké Ball!" Yellow exclaimed in awe.

"I had it custom made just for Latios." Ash replied as the red beam absorbed Latios into the ball. He then turned to his childhood crush still smiling. "Come on! We better get to Pewter City soon!" He then began to sprint.

"Hey, wait!" Yellow exclaimed running after him with Chu hanging on to her shoulder. With some new friends Ash's journey continues.

And finally done!

Again sorry if the end is a little weak. And for Eevee I figured that this scenario would be better than to have them encounter a wild one which is unreal.

I know that Yellow's Pikachu is nicknamed Chuchu in the manga, but I decided to shorten it to simply Chu figuring it would be easier. And I know Yellow isn't 15 in the manga, but she is in my story. I thought it would be better if both Ash and Yellow are the same age.

And for the stories I'm planning to drop which would be the ones on hiatus (Pokémon: Metal Masters and Son of Lucario) I won't delete them, just discontinue them. Unless of course any of you are interested in taking either one of them and remake them into what you wanted it to be I would do that too.

I will be busy with a new crossover I'm doing, but that doesn't mean that I won't be busy doing this one or my other stories I'm still currently doing. If any of you are Sonic the Hedgehog fans then I would advise you to check it out when it comes out.
