Well, this is it. Big thank you to everyone who stuck through this story. Not sure what I'll be posting next. I have quite a few stories planned but I'm not sure if I'll get to them for awhile with all the wedding planning going on. Anyway, thank you! This story had some of the best reviews I've ever gotten with great advice and detailed notes. I'm grateful to all of you for helping me become a better writer.

Epilogue:

Hayner looked so wrong in a tux. As long as Roxas had known him he'd never strayed too far from his normal cargo pants and muscle shirt combo so the tux came as quite a shock. Roxas felt like it would be terribly rude to laugh in his face but it was difficult to restrain. Namine on the other hand was the picture perfect bride. Her long golden hair was twisted into a elegant bun done with pearl pins matching her simple white dress. She was positively glowing and looking like royalty next to the complete mess that was Hayner. Hayner obviously wasn't used to suits; he couldn't stop pulling on the sleeves and the collar and he kept messing with the buttons. He was grinning like a madman with too much nervous energy. It was so hard not to tease him but Roxas was a good friend and this was Hayner's wedding day so he restrained himself.

As Roxas watched the two of them dance and chat his mind slipped back into the past. He could still remember the day Hayner introduced him to the petite blonde. He remembered feeling like his world was being pulled out from under him like that tablecloth trick. At the time he didn't know if he was in the hands of a skilled magician or a clumsy show-off; he had no idea if the glasses and plates and silverware would be left standing just as they always had or if everything would crash to the floor and shatter. Perhaps, in reality, neither happened. His life wasn't ruined but it certainly wasn't the same. It was like someone had flicked the tablecloth off and shifted all the settings one place to the left. It was different but everyone liked it better this way anyway.

"Tablecloths are for losers." He muttered to himself not entirely sure what he was talking about. His thinking had become more abstract since he'd decided to become a writer and started practicing metaphor use.

Anyway, in the end he was lucky. In the end he was able to keep preserve his friendship with Hayner as well as gain a slew of new ones.

"I didn't know you had such strong feelings about tableware."

Roxas looked up at the voice that interrupted his thoughts. A matching pair of blue eyes looked back uncertainly.

"Hey."

"Hey Ven." Roxas answered putting his guard up but scooting over on the bench so the intruder could join him.

Ven sat awkwardly, "I can't believe Hayner just called me out of the blue one day to tell me he's getting married…" He shook his head, "Probably the last person I'd expect to tie the knot."

Roxas nodded trying to read between the lines and figure out what Ventus was trying to accomplish with this conversation. He knew Hayner was inviting Ventus, they had been close back in grade-school days, but he didn't expect Ventus to show much less try and hold a conversation with him.

"This is the first time I've seen his bride. I got to say, not at all the type I pictured Hayner falling in love with."

"She's perfect for him though."

Ventus nodded, "I can see that…" He trailed off searching for another topic of conversation. Roxas sat in awkward silence damned if he was going to make this easy.

"Sorry," Ven blurted, "For a lot of things. For outing you to mom and dad- I didn't- I really didn't know… for not being there for you- for letting this whole 'not talking' thing go one for so long. I don't even know what happened! I mean honestly," He ran a nervous hand though his hair, "do you even remember what started this? I mean-" he corrected quickly, "I remember what happened but not the details. I think back on that day and I can't figure out how it spiraled into this huge thing. You were so mad at me and I guess I let things get out of hand. I don't hate you. You know that right? I don't hate you."

Roxas carefully schooled his voice into a emotional-less monotone, "You're just disgusted with me."

"No! … Well, maybe I was back then but I was young and I didn't understand. Then you stopped talking to me and I didn't know what to do!"

Roxas couldn't stop the anger from slipping into his voice this time, "You could have tried to be supportive! You were young?! I was only a kid! I needed your support!" After his outburst, he crossed his arms and took a deep breath somewhat surprised by himself.

"I know!" Ven held his hands up, "I know that now and I'm trying. Look, the whole gay thing doesn't bother me. It's just… after we started fighting I didn't know how to approach you about it. I tried. Anyway, it's not like you helped."

Roxas opened his mouth to retort but it snapped closed when he realized he was right. He slammed the door in his brother's face more times than he could remember. He thought he was protecting himself but he was just pushing his brother farther away. He did have a tendency to overreact and push people away before they could hurt him.

"Okay, let's start over." Roxas sat up straight and looked at Ventus his heart racing a mile-a-minute. Suddenly he was a confused little fifteen year old boy again sitting on his brother's bed ready to lay his heart out. "Hey bro. I'm gay."

"Whoa dude! You can't just suddenly lay that on me! Give a guy some warning! Jeez!"

Roxas tried to glare but found himself smirking instead as he shoved his brother, "You're a jerk and I hate you."

Ventus laughed and threw his arm over his brother's shoulder in an attempt to steady himself. "Love you too." He grinned and ruffled his brother's hair.

Roxas pushed his brother's hand out of his hair, "But seriously you're okay with me being gay?"

"What? You're gay?" Ventus wrinkled his nose, "Gross."

Roxas rolled his eyes somewhat exasperated. He knew his brother was just trying to diffuse the situation but he could be such a pain. "Ventus…" He whined.

"Seriously, it's cool. I'm sorry about the way I acted before. I really didn't know. We never really talked about that kind of thing before… I thought you were pulling a prank on me or something. I didn't realize you were serious until you stormed out of my room slamming every door in the house. Then when I realized you were serious, I didn't know what to think about it and you wouldn't talk to me… Then I got mad at you for being pissy with me. It kind of got of out of control from there."

"You stopped coming home when you knew I was going to be there…"

"I didn't want to make you uncomfortable." Ventus admitted, "And I didn't know how to break this feud we had going."

Roxas sighed deciding there was no point holding on to all this anger anyway. Sure, it was awful back when it happened and it was the single thing that prevented him from coming out of the closet sooner but that was all in the past now. In the end, things worked out well for Roxas. Besides, Ventus really was trying to fix things and that had to count for something. Ventus reached over and ruffled his hair again. Roxas let him this time.

"Mom and dad are taking it well?" He asked after awhile.

Roxas shrugged, "They nearly had a heart attack when I told them about my boyfriends."

"So that's true then about you having two boyfriends?"

"They told you?"

Ventus nodded, a hint of a smirk crawling onto his face, "They wanted me to set you straight." At Roxas' raised eyebrow he amended, "Not straight straight. Just… they're okay with the whole gay thing I think but they can't wrap their heads around the dating multiple guys thing. I'm pretty sure they think you don't really mean it and you're just trying to get under their skin. Like you're in some sort of rebellious stage."

Roxas snorted, "Does that mean sneaking out to the skate park in the middle of the night and covering the corner shop in graffiti wasn't my rebellious stage?"

Ventus grinned, "Dude, you're whole life is one big rebellious stage."

Roxas laughed, "So you going to set me straight?"

"Nah. Your life. Do what you want." He shrugged and turned back to the dance floor. Hayner had given up on dancing in lieu of making out with his new wife.

Roxas' eyes found Riku and Sora who were failing to waltz. Riku was muttering what looked to be instructions while Sora blatantly ignored him stepped on his feet. Riku had a look of pained patience while Sora was adorably focused with his tongue between his teeth as he stared at his feet. Roxas couldn't help grinning at the pair of them.

Ventus noticed, "Is that them?"

Roxas jumped having forgotten his brother was at his side, "Yeah, the brunet is Sora and the other one is Riku. My boyfriends."

Ventus made a sound of acknowledgment before they lapsed back into silence.

"You're serious about them?"

"I'm not just dating them to bother mom and dad if that's what you're asking."

Ventus laughed, "No, I mean, is this like… a fling.. Or..?"

Roxas watched as Riku toppled onto the floor after attempting to catch Sora. Instead of helping him up, Sora burst out in laughter. A familiar fondness welled up in his chest, "I want to spend the rest of my life with them." He answered seriously.

Ventus looked a little surprised but tried to hide it, "Like, get married?"

Roxas' snort was bitter. After Hayner's engagement was announced all Roxas had been thinking about was marrying the two boys who meant more to him than the world. But of course he couldn't. Marriages like that weren't legally recognized. It was a great source of heartache for the blond to not be able to share in that tradition.

"Right, well, I know you couldn't legally but… you could still hold a ceremony and make vows in front of all your friends and family."

Roxas paused, "Yeah…I guess we could." He sat up straighter, fireflies dancing in his stomach. How had he never thought of that? Yeah, so they would probably never be legally recognized in their lifetimes but they could still make their relationship official. He turned to his brother, blue eyes shining, "We could!"

Ventus laughed at his brother's sudden mood change. "Come on," he said suddenly, "let's go dance."

Roxas squinted at his brother, "Who dances with their brother at a wedding?"

Ventus shrugged, "Who cares?" He offered a hand to the shorter version of himself who in a slightly amused mood took it.

They stepped to the dance floor and joined in a waltz. "Remember when mom took us to those dance lessons so we wouldn't embarrass her at her sister's wedding?"

Roxas nodded, "I'm surprised I still remember the steps. How long ago was that?"

"You were like… seven. Remember how you asked the ring bearer boy to dance-"

"And he punched me in the face. Yeah, man, I had forgotten all about that."

"You cried like a baby."

"Shut up! I was seven!"

Ventus laughed and though they didn't say it, they both remembered how that event ended. When Ventus found out his brother was hurt, he came to rescue. They danced together until Roxas had calmed down then stole extra servings of dessert and ate out on the balcony.

Roxas had forgotten what it felt like to have a brother. In the eyes of seven year old Roxas, Ventus was a hero who could do no wrong. Though he knew better now, it was nice having his brother back. He decided then and there he was going to work hard to preserve this relationship. His brother was far too important for him to lose again.

Roxas' thoughts were interrupted by a tap on his shoulder, "May we interrupt?"

"You guys done embarrassing yourself on the dance floor?" Roxas teased disengaging Ventus to smile at his boyfriends.

Riku grimaced, "My toes have had enough abuse."

"Don't look at me!" Sora chimed in, "I was following your directions perfectly."

Riku rolled his eyes obviously fond then ruffled Roxas' hair. "Hey, so there's someone I want you to meet."

Riku and Sora had noticed the blond Roxas was dancing with and recognized him though they'd never met. It wasn't hard to determine that the boy in question was Roxas' brother. The two were practically identical. As they exchanged pleasantries, Roxas felt another piece of his life fall into place. Friendships, relationships, even kinships weren't always easy. Sometimes they break, sometimes they slip though your fingers without you even noticing but Roxas new he would always fight to keep the people he had now. Maybe, despite his best efforts things would still fall apart eventually, but he wasn't going to push people away anymore. If he had anything to say about it, he'd still go to the skate park with Hayner, even as old men, he'd see his brother at least every family holiday and Riku and Sora would remain with him forever because these things were more precious to him than anything else.
