Announcement: So… it's been awhile since this story's been updated, huh? Three years actually. Well, for those who are caught up with this story's sequel, Desertion Part Two: A Ghost's Beginning, you may already know why I'm posting this. For you, those who were just curious and clicked on this, and the people who are still finishing this current story, I have an announcement to share with all of you regarding this fic. Today is RWBY: Desertion's 5 year anniversary, and in celebration of that and the start of RWBY Volume 7… I've decided to remake the entire first story.

Don't worry though, the main plot will remain completely unchanged while some smaller details may be altered a bit. (The first two chapters are actually pretty different than the original tho, not gonna lie.) But still, if you've just finished up this specific fic then you can go right into Desertion: Part Two without having to wait for the remake to be completed. I'm making it simply as a way to update the story for newer readers so they can get into the series, as I don't think the original fic aged well. At least in my eyes. Along with that, it's going to be shortened significantly but with longer chapters, and will focus solely on the main relationship and plot.

Most if not all of the filler and lemons from the original will be left out as well. I may even edit a few of Part Two's early chapters to make the transition between the remake and that more seamless. And I may have said this before in other posts, but, AGAIN DON'T WORRY ABOUT THIS STORY. It's not going to be deleted, I'm simply going to keep this on the site as a legacy fic in case anyone actually wants to go back and read the original version. I have fond memories of creating this believe it or not, so I'm not just gonna wipe it off the site like it's nothing.

And… that's all I really have to say about it, at least the stuff I think i should say. The first chapter of the remake is available RIGHT NOW on my profile, and I'm even planning on adding it to Wattpad and the RWBY Amino as well. Gotta expand a bit, y'know? The remake is now currently available on my profile, first chapter and everything, and it's been titled as,
