Naruto walked the somewhat empty streets of Konoha with his mind off in wonderland.

There was no point in denying it—being Hokage was difficult, but it always paid off when he knew he protected his home and everyone in it.

However, keeping his village safe always had consequences.

His family.

His wife and kids.

Everyday Naruto would come home when his kids were asleep and Hinata was exhausted. Rarely in the mornings would he be there to play with them for an hour or two before going off to work.

He couldn't help but wonder everyday if one day he would just come home to an empty house.

He couldn't help but wonder if one day Hinata would take their kids and leave.

Coming home to someone was the best part of the day.

Naruto stared down at the band that now occupied his finger. He couldn't help but smile.

Naruto Uzumaki, the number one idiot, finally got married to the most beautiful woman in Konoha.

Now all he needed were children and the title of Hokage and everything would be perfect.

Coming back to reality, Naruto reached the door to his new home.

His stomach growled and his mouth craved for the taste of ramen as he opened the door.

Loud thumping sounds came towards him as he watched his beautiful wife suddenly appear before him, but before they both knew it, Hinata had tripped over her own two feet and fell to the ground.

But as quickly as she had fallen, she was right back up with a look of embarrassment on her face. The look of embarrassment quickly vanished as her eyes met his.

She smiled. "Welcome home, Naruto," she blissfully said.

It was as though all the weight that was on his shoulders drilling him into the ground was suddenly lifted.

He felt a new wave wash over him. A new feeling he couldn't comprehend.

A new feeling that held joy, love, belonging, and a new journey.

Home.

Naruto was experiencing what it felt like to have a home to go to.

To have someone welcome you with the joy and love Hinata were giving at that very moment.

"Say it again," he whispered. He had yet to move from the doorway.

She cocked her head to the side in confusion.

"Say it again," he repeated.

And as if she understood his new feeling he couldn't understand, she smiled and gave off the feeling of welcoming and love.

"Welcome home, Naruto."

Naruto smiled, letting all the emotions hit him. "I'm home."

That was the beginning of starting a family. Coming home was the best part because Naruto wasn't alone anymore.

He had someone to go home to.

The future Hokage was careful not to wake the children as he opened the front door.

Hinata had asked him exhaustedly not to bust into the house when it was as late as it was. He would always wake the children up and they ended up grumpy in the morning. Hinata was alone to deal with it.

He closed the door just as quiet and slowly slipped off his shoes before he stepped onto the wooden surface of his home.

But before Naruto could make any moves, a blond blur appeared from down the hall and was barreling towards him.

"Dad!" his son yelled.

Naruto instantly got to his knees as Bolt ran straight into Naruto's open arms. Naruto laughed as he wrapped his arms around his son. "What are you doing up so late?"

"Mom let us stay up to see you," Bolt exclaimed as Naruto ruffled his sons blond hair.

"Daddy!" Naruto turned his attention back down the hall to see his little princess running towards him.

His smile grew as he watched her stumble over her two feet but regained her balance and ran into his open arm.

He held onto his children tightly as Himawari placed a small kiss on his cheek.

"Welcome home, daddy!"

Those were the most memorable moments on his long and boring days.

He could only hope it was like that every day.

Naruto could only hope there was someone to go home to.

As he drew closer and closer to his house, a familiar figure was running towards him.

Immediately Naruto opened his arms as his wife ran straight into his embrace. She held him tightly just as Naruto did.

"What are you doing out here?" he asked, never letting his grip loosen.

"I've missed you. I couldn't wait inside any longer."

Naruto grinned as he tried his best not to suffocate his wife. "I've missed you, too."

Hinata broke the embrace and took a step back to meet his blue eyes. She smiled up at him as he took her hands in his. "The children might be awake—but barely. They're waiting to see you."

Naruto happily led Hinata inside the house. He quickly took off his shoes and made his way towards Bolt's bedroom.

On his bed were both Bolt and Himawari. Both were asleep as Bolt held onto his little sister's hand.

While Himawari was curled into a ball like her mother, Bolt was sprawled out and messy like Naruto. Anyone could tell who their children resemble.

Naruto quietly walked up to the two and grabbed a hold of the covers. Slowly he placed it over his sleeping children before kissing the top of their heads and heading towards the door.

Once he closed the bedroom door, Naruto made his way towards his own room to see Hinata put her hair up in a messy bun. She looked at him through the mirror and smiled.

He closed the door and made his way towards her, wrapping his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder.

"You won't leave me, right?" he asked.

A look of dissatisfaction claimed her flawless face. "Of course not. I'm yours—"

"Until you don't want me anymore," he finished.

Hinata smiled.

Naruto raised his lips to her ear. "I want you now," he whispered, watching her blush through the mirror.

He released his grip on her and undid her bun, watching her hair fall down to the middle of her back. His hand went to her shoulder to slowly push down the nightgown she wore. He kissed her bare shoulder, earning a shudder from her.

Naruto turned her around and pressed his forehead against hers. He inhaled deeply. She smelt of lavender with a hint of cinnamon. She was intoxicating.

"I love you," she whispered.

Naruto smiled as he kissed her once. "I love you, too." He claimed her lips with greed.

Hinata brought Naruto everything he was missing in his life.

They had their ups and downs, but Naruto would experience all the pain again if it meant he could have the life he did now.

Coming home to a family was the best experience he could ever have in his lifetime, and he wouldn't change it for the world.

He finally had a wife.

He finally had a family.

He finally had a family to go home to.

He was happy.

Thank you for taking this journey with me.

I've had so much fun writing this fic, and I hope you enjoyed reading it just as much as I did writing it. I love you guys and all your wonderful comments.

I'm crying. I have no idea why, but while writing this, Goodbye by Secondhand Serenade came on and I got teary eyed.

Is this a cruel sign?

Till next time~
