Chapter 17 – Ooh Babies
It had been a month since Olivia found out she was pregnant; she was close to finishing her first trimester. Ronon still the same brooding Satedan when he was walking around Atlantis, but as always was completely different with her. John, Teyla and Nevaeh had all seen the change in the warrior.
Nev looked over at Olivia as they walked to the gym; Olivia had just finished her shift in the infirmary and Nev had just returned from Stargate Command on the Daedalus; she had her yearly performance review – no shock she passed with flying colors. "I still can't believe your having a baby; Ronon's baby at that. Speaking of which how is he warrior papa doing?"
"He's doing fine." Olivia smiled softly as her hand went to her still flat stomach. She wasn't showing just yet which was discouraging to Ronon, he checked her almost every night before bed. "He's growing impatient waiting for my body to make the baby bigger so he can see it." She shook her head with a giggle.
Nev laughed. "Yea, hey by the way I went by your quarters the other night and it's looking pretty empty buddy." She pointed out.
"Yea it took Ronon all of 2 seconds to decide I was moving into his quarters with him. I tried helping him and he growled at me. Apparently clothes are too heavy for me to pack or pick up." She laughed. "It's not like I haven't been sleeping in his quarters since he found out anyways, but he wanted something more permanent. There was really no way for me to argue."
"Please Mr. Tall Dark and Silent could put up a fight." Nev teased.
Olivia laughed. "He talks more when we are alone."
They stopped in front of the door for the gym as Nev swiped her hand over the door sensor and watched as the doors swished open. Nev's blue eyes locked on John as he was sparring with Ronon. They were both working up a good sweat. She followed John's cargo pants covered rear as he and Ronon circled each other.
Olivia couldn't take her eyes off Ronon as well. He was in his dark brown pants and a dark brown beater, his dreads were pulled back, but they were still flying all over the place. That was actually the best part of watching his spar or train the new Marine recruits, no matter how much his hair flew he was always one step ahead of everyone else.
Once the two alpha males finished their sparring John looked over and watched as Nev bounced across the floor and into his arms while wrapping her legs around his waist. They both knew public displays of affection were NOT something they practiced especially since her rank was below his, but since they were the only other people in the gym besides Ronon and Olivia, John really didn't care.
Once John had her in his arms he fell back onto the mat; leaving her straddled across his lap and slapping his chest. "You scared the shit out of me Sheppard!"
John chuckled. He did enjoy giving her a scare every once in a while.
Ronon placed his wooden sparring sword in the weapons stand before his dark eyes turned to Olivia. He walked over and stood in front of her; he did like her laughter as she was being entertained by Sheppard and Nevaeh. He watched as her eyes looked up at him and she smiled softly as his hand came up and brushed a couple of wisps of hair from her face. "How are you feeling?" He asked concerned since she was still working full shifts in the infirmary. It had taken a conversation with Teyla to get him to understand women normally could actually work up until they started their 9th month.
"I was a little nauseas, but I feel better now. How was training?" Olivia asked as she reached up and tugged on one of his dreads.
Ronon rolled his eyes and watched as she smiled. "Over." Yes he really was a man of very few words. "I need a shower."
Olivia wrinkled her nose. "I can't argue with that…And food." She added on, because she knew him too well. "Which first?" She asked.
Ronon leaned down. "If you are joining me, shower first." He pecked her lips softly.
"I can be persuaded." Olivia stated softly before she grabbed his goatee and pulled him back down for another kiss.
Ronon smirked against her lips as he squatted slightly to be eye level with her so she wouldn't have to strain to reach him. "Come – let the persuading begin." He took her hand in his before he looked over at Sheppard and Nev. "Meet you in the mess hall in an hour."
Nev smirked as she looked over. "Yea if he can still walk by then."
Once they were back in their quarters, Ronon immediately shed his shirt, tossing it into the basket on the floor before turning his attention back to the one who had his heart and soul in her pocket. She had already gotten rid of her scrub top and bottoms and was standing in her panties and bra. She was no longer shy around him and he enjoyed the view immensely. He walked over before letting his hands slide down the curves of her hips to her thighs as he lifted her; her legs wrapped around his waist.
Ronon turned and walked towards the bathroom with her wrapped around is body. He had already kicked off his boots and tossed his socks in the basket with his shirt. He could feel her nimble fingers combing through his dreads. Their eyes locked on each other. She pushed her nose against his before kissing his lips. Ronon felt around inside the shower and got the water going. He felt her hands go between their bodies as she untied the drawstring on his pants letting them fall down around his ankles.
Olivia reached behind her as she undid her bra and dropped it on the floor with his pants. She laughed when she felt Ronon actually rip the sides of her panties and drop them on the ground as well before stepping into the shower under the water. "You know if you keep that up there will be no reason for me to wear undies." She pointed out.
Ronon smirked. "I haven't worn any in years; just gets in the way."
John made it back to his quarters and was waiting for Nev to show up separately. He walked into the bathroom and already started the water to steam up the bathroom. The door chimed as he walked over and swiped the door sensor and watched the doors swish apart. Her blue eyes pierced his insides. He didn't realize how much he missed her while she'd been gone for her annual performance review. It always took a week to go from Atlantis to the Daedalus and then to the SGC: Stargate Command on Earth. He looked down at her before he leaned out the doorway and scanned the hallway for prying eyes.
Nope.
Nothing.
Nev watched as John smirked at her. "Oh crap." She whimpered before she squealed as John leaned over more and tossed her over his shoulder before he slapped her cargo pants covered ass before he turned and swiped the sensor locking the door to his quarters so anyone on the post couldn't just walk in.
John took her immediately to the bathroom as he set her on the backroom sink counter. He untied her boots and dropped them and her socks on the floor. He'd already discarded his boots and socks. John stood back up as Nev's lips crashed into his; he took a few minutes to enjoy her lips against his before he leaned back over pushing her over his shoulder once more before stepping into the shower and closing the door.
"ARGH! JOHN! I STILL HAVE ALL MY CLOTHES ON!"
John laughed as he let her now fully clothed soaked body slide down the front of his fully clothed soaked body. "Technically, you are barefoot; so you don't have all your clothes on."
Nev pushed her wet honey blonde hair from her face as she looks up and laughed. The humidity from the hot water, plus the water itself had wreaked havoc on John's normally perfect hair. "You ass!" She exclaimed before it was John's turn to smash his lips into hers.
John looked at Ronon. He'd been rather moody all day but knew it was just because he hated dealing with alpha males in the villages who think they knew more about the wraith than he did. He'd been a damn runner for 7 years. He knew better than anyone else how to escape the wraith. How to escape and LIVE, but the villagers just wanted to argue about knowing better than him.
"Chewy, don't let it bother you. You tried as best as you could to make them understand. It's up to these villages initially if they take our advice or our training. As much as you'd like to because this is more your home than ours, unfortunately you can't save them all." John stated honestly.
Ronon growled. "No. Atlantis is my home with Olivia and our little one growing inside her. Those people are still my people even if they aren't Satedan. I will just have to go back and make them understand." He explained. He knew John was right about not being able to save them…no he couldn't save them, but he could make them listen and understand if they didn't do things his way they would be culled or killed. That was the only two choices that the wraith ever gave anyone.
They made it back to Atlantis and to the infirmary to get their post off world physicals. Ronon's dark eyes were looking around and he didn't see Olivia anywhere. One of the new infirmary recruits walked up and tried to go Ronon's physical when he growled at the girl; Marie walked over and suggested she do the work up on the Colonel and watched as she led John over to an exam table.
Marie looked up at Ronon. "Mr. Dex, please don't growl at our recruits. It's hard enough to keep them for their allotted time without you scaring them half to death."
"Marie where is Olivia?" Ronon questioned. He watched as Marie made a face as she rubbed the back of her neck.
"Well, Since Olivia was the only available doctor on Atlantis today; Major Lorne called for her help off world." Marie explained.
"WHAT?!" Ronon growled.
"Easy big guy, what's going on Chewy?" John asked once his physical was done, then looked at Marie. "Okay what gives?"
Marie opened her mouth to speak but Ronon growled once more and it silenced the nurse. She shook her head and walked away to save her own skin. Ronon exhaled heavily through his nose. "Olivia was called off world with Lorne." His hands tightened into fists.
"I know that look Chewy, let's go to the gate room and see what we can find out." John suggested gently. They both took off to the control room where the gate was located as they found Chuck behind the control board. "Hey Chuck what is going o with Major Lorne's team?" He asked curiously.
Chuck looked up from the screen as the Colonel and Ronon approached him. "I'm not sure sir. Major Lorne came back through the Stargate and requested Dr. Dixon go back with him; if he explained why it was to her and her only. He's not answering his comm right now. He has missed his check in by an hour if you and Ronon would like to go through the gate sir, I can dial up the planet they went to. I do know Teyla went with for her protection."
"Yes, now." Ronon all but demanded. He turned and followed Sheppard down the stairs to the Stargate and listened as the claxon clapped and clanked as they established to the correct planet. They both took off through the gate once it had stabilized and were met by darkness.
"Major Lorne, come in." John requested when he tapped his comm.
When there was no answer John hit his come again. "Captain Edwards come in."
"Colonel sir this is Edwards, how can I help you sir?" Edwards answered after 5 minutes.
"Captain you guys missed your check in an hour ago, where are you guys hiding on his planet. Ronon and I are at the gate." John stated.
"Sir, if you follow the dirt path in front of you it will bring you to the village and the first building you come to is the hospital all of us are there." Edwards explained.
John and Ronon headed down the path. "You want to tell me why the Major is ignoring his comm?" He asked.
"Sir, Doc made him take it out of his ear to focus better to help her. I'm not even going to attempt to tell you what they are doing; you'll figure it out once you get here sir." He was trying to be insubordinate, but Doc could scare anyone with or without her Satedan protector.
John chuckled as he looked up when Ronon let out a deep laugh as well. They both knew Olivia could be intimidating as hell on her own and now that she was pregnant, her pregnancy hormones were a force to be reckoned with. "You want to marry her remember that."
Ronon laughed harder as they picked up the pace. "Yes I do, with every breath in my lungs." He stated honestly.
"Easy Chewy everyone will think you've gone soft." John teased out a warning.
"I already have for her only." Ronon would admit to no one but John.
John and Ronon rounded the bend and saw Major Lorne's men flanking the door way to the one floor hospital. There had been a few random non-Atlantis personnel milling around the front of the hospital. The more John studied the people, the more he noticed they were all men and they all looked…nervous.
Captain Edward met the Colonel with a salute. "Sir…Ronon."
Ronon made a face as John saluted the Captain back. "Where is she?" Ronon asked.
Captain smirked. "She's in the back room, but I don't know if she will allow you in yet." He stated matter of factly.
John looked around before he pointed out a few of the men walking in circles aimlessly. "What is up with them?" He asked.
"Oh uh…expecting father's sir. Apparently it's a full moon here and every pregnant woman within the village decided to go into labor tonight." Captain Edwards explained with a smile.
"So that's what the doc is doing and why she made Evan take his comm out. She really did need him to focus." John deduced.
Ronon smirked as he entered the building and began looking for the back room. He could hear a loud scream as it echoed down the hallway and found the closed door for the room, but knew better than to enter while Olivia was doing her work, especially helping deliver a baby. He leaned against the door jamb of an open supply closet across the hall from the room and just waited. A few minutes later Sheppard and Edwards joined him.
Soon enough the door opened and Major Lorne walked out carrying the shirt to his BDU's, his comm, his vest and P90. His head snapped up when a throat cleared. "Sir." He slapped a salute to the Colonel.
John chuckled as he returned his salute. "Take it easy Major. We already know doc twisted your arm."
Evan laughed. "It was only after I twisted hers."
Teyla was the next to walk out. "Colonel, there was no concern for you to come. The Major and his team had Olivia well protected."
John smirked. "Yea well tell that to the father-to-be." He threw a thumb to his right as Ronon straightened up when Olivia walked out of the room next carrying a squirming bundle wrapped in a blue blanket.
Olivia looked up and noticed Ronon and John were there. "It has to be some kind of record; 10 babies in one night." She watched as Ronon stepped forward and looked down at the newborn in her arms. Something they both knew they couldn't wait for. "He's beautiful isn't he?" She asked before she looked up at Ronon who nodded his answer to her question. She watched as Ronon's big hand came up as he brushed his thumb over the newborns soft bald head. Olivia looked over as the nurse walked between the military officers who lined the hallway before she handed over the newborn to be taken to the nursery.
Ronon cupped her cheek. "You look tired."
"10 babies in 12 hours; I'm dead on my feet and starving. I could seriously eat a small horse." Olivia admitted out loud. She smiled softly as Ronon leaned down and scoped her up into his arms. "I can still walk ya know."
"I wouldn't argue with him Doc." John stated honestly.
Olivia shrugged as she leaned over and kissed Ronon's lips. "Okay let's go home." She already knew there was no arguing with him.
