Chapter 20: Out of the Shadows (Part 2)
Mira's eyes met Randy's and her entire body warmed instantly. Her bound hands twitched with intense power. He revitalized her in more ways than she even knew were possible. Looking out into the wide space of the yard, she could see her future pack in wolf form except for Randy, Dean, and two others she didn't recognize. Gazing upon the strangers, she couldn't help but feel connected to them. Like she should know them.
"You've come to surrender, wolf boy?" Ingrid asked in yelling voice.
"No. we've come to bring Mira home." He responded clenching his hands into fists at his side.
Within seconds the older witch laughed. Mira cringed at the sound of it. She was more afraid now than any other time in her life. She had more to fight for than just herself now. Being half werewolf she was well aware of what was happening to her body internally. There was a life growing inside of her. Over the years she had spend with the pack, she learned it werewolf pregnancy only lasted for six months instead of the traditional nine for a human.
"Boy, you are about to all be killed by your precious lover. In a matter of minutes she will be completely under our control." Ivy stated.
Dean caught a scent that he hadn't smelled in years. He turned to look at his brother and Hunter, whom was standing a few feet across from him. They all could smell the distinctive smell of cherry blossoms. There were none of those trees in bloom in that time of year, so there was only one explanation for the smell. "You smell that?" Dean asked in a hushed voice.
"Yeah..." Randy replied still stunned by the evidence that Mira was indeed carrying his child.
Hunter looked at the woman he had once loved. She was only a shell of that woman now. The fire in her eyes was gone. He took multiple steps closer to stand beside Randy. Ivy caught sight of him and was instantly taken aback. She never thought in a million years she'd see him again after what happened in their past.
"What are you doing here?" Ivy asked.
"Have you gone mad? What are you doing?" He asked taking another step closer.
Ingrid narrowed her eyes, not liking the fact that he was present. The man had such influence on her daughter than it had taken days to re-program her into telling him that Mira had died. It had been such a lengthy process. She watched as Ivy began to shake. Her eyes were swelling with pending tears without any explanation. "Hunter, don't come any closer..." She warned.
"Ivy, please...how could you tell me that Mira died. I never got to be a part of her life. How could you deny me that right?" Hunter expressed.
Mira's ears perked at the conversation. The man starting to come forward was her father. The father her werewolf blood came from. She shifted her head to look at him, taking in ever detail. He was strong. The energy flowed off him like a rushing river current. Her own inner wolf was calling out to him.
Alex stepped in holding out his hand. Electrical currents sparked around his fingers. Mira bit her bottom lip to keep from saying a word. She knew that she had to keep her secret for as long a possible and use it at the perfect moment; otherwise, things would go very wrong and a lot of people would die. Including the father of her child, the love of her life. "Back away wolf!" Alex snapped.
"Wolf? You said he was human!" Ingrid screamed yanking her daughter back by the arm.
"I knew you would be furious if I told you he was a wolf." Ivy cried.
Mira's eyes shimmered with power. The inner wolf wanted to be released in the worst way. Ingrid was in complete shock. She whipped her head around to see a sly smile snake across Mira's lips and the evidence of werewolf in her eyes. "Oh my god..."She whispered.
"What the matter grandmother? It looks like you've seen a ghost..." Mira stated burning the binds from around her wrists.
Alex turned his attention from Hunter to his younger sister. He now knew why the wounds healed so fast that he had inflicted on her over the last week and a half. The anger he should feel towards her just wasn't there anymore. The circumstances of her birth was not her fault, never would be. The fact that she was the one that could liberate the witches was circumstantial. It didn't mean anything without free-will. He understood that now.
"None of this matters anymore! She will still be under our control once I break this amulet!" Ingrid screamed as if she was trying to convince herself.
Holding both of her arms out, a massive wave of energy was expelled. The entire pack of wolves and clan of vampires fell to their knees, writhing in pain. Mira's heart leapt at the scene. Blood flowed out from of of their noses. Mira lunged, turning in mid-air. Her teeth clamped down into the shoulder of her grandmother. A blood curtailing scream escaped her mouth.
"Mira!" Randy yelled, scared for her safety.
Ingrid held her hand out, expelling more energy directly at Mira. It sent her spiraling backward into the neighboring tree. The large truck stopped her movement. Struggling to get to her feet, she snarled. Baring her teeth at the true enemy. Brie appeared scattering several stones around their grandmother, trapping her inside a circle.
"What the hell is this?" Ingrid demanded.
"A spell Mira and I created specifically for you." Brie answered looking directly through the circle to her mother and brother.
"This won't hold me. You trapped me with the amulet in my hands, you morons."
Squeezing her hand, she shattered the amulet. A hissing sound came for a few moments before dying completely. Ingrid looked to see that nothing was happened to Mira. She still maintained her white and black wolf form. "I don't understand. We did everything right. You should be under my control now."
"Sorry; but since there is wolf blood inside me, that thing was never going to work on me. I knew that when I traded myself for Seth. And now it's time to end this once and for all." Mira explained as she shifted back into her human form.
Randy couldn't keep his eyes off her naked body. He stood up and closed to the distance between them, taking her hand into his. Ingrid looked on helplessly. Watching as all her plans were dissolved right before her very eyes. Mira held out a hand to touch the front of the circle, while Brie held a hand out to touch the back.
"Animum ad malum
Absente te
ab huius mundi
Absente te
ad planum Astral" Mira and Brie chanted.
"NO! You can't do this!" Ingrid screamed.
The circle closed in, surrounding the older witch from all sides. In a matter of seconds there was nothing left by a burnt spot on the grass. Standing strong, she turned to face her mother and brother. Ivy shook her head, coming to her own senses. Alex steadied her from falling. "Mira, I am so sorry. I am sorry for everything I've done to you in past." Ivy pleaded.
"Are you alright?" Hunter asked stepping forward dried blood on his upper lip.
Mira turned to face her father for the first time. He handed her a coat to cover up her nakedness. She slipped it on. Randy wrapped a loving arm around her shoulders. She leaned into him, careful not to use too much energy. Ivy and Alex stood firm, hoping to get some kind of answer from her. "Ingrid will never return. You are free to do what you want without her influence." Mira stated.
"Thank you...Mira" Alex stated.
Paige walked forward and embraced her best friend tightly. Listening closely, she could hear the heartbeat of the life growing. It made her smile, because she knew that peace was finally upon them. "You know I wanted a little piece of that bitch..." She whispered in Mira's ear. It made her laugh and sob all at the same time.
Three Month Later
Hunter stayed with Ivy and Alex to restore their broken coven. Giving tips whenever needed. Alex grew to like him like a father. Hunter developed a healthy father-daughter bond with Mira, despite not liking the fact that she already pregnant before marriage. It was his old-fashioned traditions; but he loved her all the same.
"Are you ready to go?" Ivy asked coming out of the house dressed in a bright blue sundress.
"As ready as I'll ever be to give my daughter away..." Hunter whispered taking her hands into his.
"It was bound to happen. She's always been connected to the wolves since she was a child. I'm just glad that she's happy."
Hunter knew that Mira was extremely happy. The connection between her and Randy was unbreakable. Tightening his grip on Ivy's hand, he continued to walk towards their car with Alex trailing behind dressed in a pair of black dress pants and a white button up shirt. He was trilled that his sister was finally getting married. He was excited to see her again after three long months.
The Manor
The large landscape was decorated in blues and whites. Paige was rushing around to finish the last minute decorating. She was hoping that everything would go as planned and there would be no hysterics; but knowing her, she'd be the one to cry the most. She was beyond happy to see this finally happening.
"Paige, it's time to get inside. The guests are arriving." Seth stated with a smile on his face.
"I'll be right in..." She replied.
Mira stood in front of a large mirror, staring at her own reflection. The dark blue of her dress framed her ever curve, including the bump of her growing belly. The baby moved continuously, exciting her even more to meet him or her. She closed her eyes, diving deep into her thoughts of what it would be like to be a mother.
Before she knew it, her father was walking her down the aisle to meet Randy at the alter. His smile never left his face through the entire ceremony. Right down to the kiss. His lips captured her in probably the most passionate kiss they have ever shared. It made her insides tingle and the baby kick multiple times.
"I present to you Randy and Mira Lebinair." The priest announced.
Everyone clapped at the sight of them. Her belly was in everyone's eye range. They all wanted to ask about it; but never said a word. Mira caught sight of Dean alone in the back of the crowd. He seemed distraught about something. Leaving Randy's side, she weaved through the large throb of wolves, vampires, and witches to get to her brother-in-law.
"What's wrong? You look upset." She asked sitting down next to him.
"How does it feel to be mated for life?" He asked.
"I feel strong. Stronger than I ever have in my entire life. What's this about?"
Dean took hold of her hands. His eyes stared right through her, making her nervous. There was something obviously on his mind and the hesitation was scaring her. "Dean, where is Rosalyn? Did something happen?" Mira asked frantically looking for outspoken wolf that had captured her former lovers heart in her absence.
"She's wants to get married and start a family. I...I don't know...if I can do that..." He replied hesitantly.
A smile tugged at her lips. Turning her hand upwards, she sent out a little bit of energy to caress his skin. Dean turned his head to look into her eyes. The wolf blue prominent over the hazel they once were. "You're stronger than you give yourself credit for. I've always believed in you when you didn't. Giving up on someone who you love dearly because your afraid of marriage is the worst thing you can do. Explore it together, that's what it means to be as one."
"You are going to be one hell of a mother, Mira..."
"I hope so. Go on, do what you know is right."
He placed a comforting hand on her shoulder before jumping up to chase after his Rosalyn. Feeling the baby kick within her womb, she placed a hand over her belly. Another hand joined hers, slightly startling her. Randy's face was inches away, allowing her sink right into his warmth. "He's right, you know. You are going to be a great mother..." He stated.
"We are going to be great parents..."
"Yes, we will..."
Randy leaned in and placed his warm lips upon her forehead. She snuggled against the crook of his neck, taking in his scent more closely. Closing their eyes, a flash of their baby appeared before their eyes. Mira and Randy watched as a girl around eight years old ran through the house, her chocolate curls bounced against her back as she ran. Her wolf blue eyes sparkled with intense magic. A mixture of her mother and father's traits were present in her face. She was running into their arms.
"Oh my beautiful baby girl..." Mira whispered looking down at her belly.
Randy smiled. He realized his over protective feelings were just. He would be having a daughter in less than three months. When he met Mira, he never thought this life would be possible; but now, experiencing all the emotions that came with loving her; he wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world. "I love you, Mira..." He said kissing her temple.
"I love you to. Forever and always..." She replied giving him a sweet smile.
End Note: Well there you have it. I hope all enjoyed it.
