"Now You See It, Now You Don't"
Please enjoy and review!
In a dark space, a green and blue card spun in the air before a hand reached out and grabbed the card and tilted it to the side to reveal Takato.
Next, Henry was shown holding the same type of card as he tilted it to the side as half of his face was hidden in the shadows.
Rika was then shown holding the card as she moved it to the side as she was mostly blending into the shadows.
Finally, Daisuke was shown holding the card as she lifted it up out of her face to reveal herself as the shadows were behind her head.
Takato's hands are then shown slashing the card through the slot of his white and red D-Power and then Henry was shown in full body slashing his card through his D-Power as Rika did the same and then Daisuke slashed a card through D-Power and finally Takato was shown doing it as well.
Guilmon is then seen in red lights, then Terriermon fades in covered in green lights, Renamon in shown standing in blue light and Veemon jumps in with a golden yellow colored background.
Henry is then shown running forward as his D-Power that's strapped to his hip is releasing white light.
Daisuke is shown holding her D-3 and D-Terminal that are then covered in light making her cover her head with her other arm as her devices are transformed into a D-Power.
Rika is seen staring up into the air holding a sharp stick.
Guilmon then releases a blast of red flames from his mouth as the scene cuts to Calumon who's mark is glowing bright red.
Renamon is sailing through the air ready to strike and then Impmon is shown standing on a tree branch as he throws a fireball.
Veemon sommersaults onto the ground as he slams his fist into a boulder, breaking it.
Yamaki is then shown taking his sunglasses off as he glares up at the sky.
Takato is wearing his goggles over his eyes as he floats through a foggy area.
The scene then cuts off to Guilmon, Renamon, Terriermon and Veemon as their skin is being peeled away to reveal the data beneath.
New data then appears over their bodies, changing them as they grow bigger and Digivolve into Kyubimon, Gargomon, Veedramon and Growlmon.
Rika is then shown riding Kyubimon as she tosses her cellphone to the side; Henry is running down the street with Terriermon clinging to his shoulders, Impmon is standing in a tree as he flinches back, and Yamaki swerves his head to the side to stare at something.
Terriermon then jumps off Henry's head, then Takato is shown standing with Guilmon as he throws a card and Daisuke is sitting on Veedramon's shoulder as he charges forward.
The background is filled with blue data as a red diamond is shown spinning around with Calumon's smiling reflection in it.
Riley and Tally are then shown hooking up to two electronic chairs as they wave their hands over the key pads in front of them that are beeping and flashing different colors.
As the screen closes in on the colors, Takato is shown standing in a green data field and then the scene cuts off to the Digimon.
Guilmon slashes his claws as Growlmon, WarGrowlmon and a shadowed Digimon are shown behind him.
Veemon punches the air as Veedramon, AeroVeedramon and a shadowed form are seen behind him.
Terriermon spins onto the screen as Gargomon, Rappidmon and a shadowed form appear behind him.
Renamon then jumps back as Kyubimon, Taomon and a shadowed form are shown behind her.
The park area is then shown as it closes in quickly on Calumon who has Impmon beside him.
Rika is then seen hooking her D-Power and card pack onto her belt and then Renamon is shown releasing her Diamond Storm as the scene fades in to Rika taking off her sunglasses.
Gargomon is shooting his lasers as the scene fades out to Henry who lifts up his sunglasses up onto his head.
Veedramon is then shown roaring as he uses Magnum Punch in the center of the screen and the scene fades out to Daisuke who is pushing her goggles down around her neck as the Crests of Courage and Friendship flash in the goggles' lens.
Growlmon is then seen using Dragon Slash as the scene fades to Takato lifting his goggles up onto his head.
Takato, Daisuke, Rika and Henry are then shown standing in a green field with data surrounding them as Calumon swooped down beside them as Terriermon, Veemon, Guilmon and Renamon stood behind the group.
The shadowed forms of children and Digimon then appear behind the group as they lift up their D-Powers and they each release a beam of white light that make the words 'Digimon: Digital Monsters' appear above them.
Jun was sitting on her bed flipping through a manga as she listened to the music that was playing on her i-Pod her head bobbing to the beat.
A knock was then heard at her door making the magenta haired girl look up, curious as to who it was.
"Come in!" She called.
Her oak was then opened by a shy Daisuke which stunned Jun since her sister never looked that way.
"Daisuke, what are you doing here?" She asked.
"Um, well, I needed to talk to you about something." Daisuke said as her cheeks were tinted pink.
She looked so cutely insecure as she tugged at the hem of her shirt that it made Jun mentally coo over how sweet her sister was.
"Sure, you can talk to me about anything. Come on, come sit." Jun insisted as she patted the place beside her.
Stepping further inside the room, Daisuke closed the oak door and then made her way over to the queen sized bed that had a powder pink comforter and sat down on the space beside her sister.
"So, what did you need to talk about?" Jun asked.
"Um, well, I'm kinda curious about, well... Make-up." Daisuke stuttered out.
"Make-up? You want to know about make-up?" Jun asked with wide eyes.
Her sister had always been a tomboy and hated wearing anything girly, but now that she was getting older, Jun assumed that she was now getting interested in things like make-up.
"Y-Yeah. I mean, not all make-up. It's just, I saw your nail polish and I was kinda tempted to try it on, but I'm not sure which shade to choose or whatever. When Yolei and Mimi were talking about this stuff, they were always talking about shades that would match their skin tone or something like that." Daisuke explained.
Jun smiled lovingly down at her sister as she then got off her bed and walked over to her vanity where her make-up was laid out.
Turning back over to Daisuke, Jun gestured for her to come over.
"Well, we're going to start at the beginning. Choosing a shade of nail polish is pretty easy. It's the lipstick, concealer, blush and eyeshadow that's really a lot of trouble." Jun said.
Realizing her sister was going to help her and not tease her, Daisuke smiled as she jumped off the bed and made her way over to the vanity.
"The best thing about make-up is that you have so many choices and you can try pairing it all off until you find a look that is perfect for you. Right now, we'll start off with nail polish like you asked, but later on we'll move on to lip gloss." Jun told her.
"Okay, so, how do I know which nail polish is right for me?" Daisuke asked.
"Just pick one and try it on. Paint one nail with it and then paint your next nail with a different one and we'll see which one looks best on you. That's what I did." Jun explained.
Inside she was bubbling over in excitement that she was getting a chance to bond with her baby sister this way.
Normally she would have to drag her out to go shopping to pick out some cute clothing, but now Daisuke was willingly coming to her.
"All right." Daisuke said as she grabbed a vial of neon yellow polish.
Both girls started trying on different shades of nail polish, comparing them to each other and using the remover to clean off the shades they didn't like.
Jun even trimmed and filed Daisuke's nails so that they were evened out, then they finally chose a color that looked good on her.
It was a soft pink color that had sparkles in it that was called 'Blushing Bride' which Jun found to be ironic since it was the same shade Daisuke's cheeks took on when she blushed.
As for Jun, she chose a shade of nail polish that was a light blue color that shimmered purple, blue and green that was called 'Blue Frosting'.
After they were done, the sisters got ready for bed and Daisuke was in her room sitting on her bed as she brushed through her hair.
Veemon, who always noticed things about his partner, took notice of the girl's finger nails and toe nails quickly when he set his gaze on her.
"Wow, Daisuke, your nails look so pretty!" He complimented when he saw them sparkle in the light.
Blushing at this, Daisuke's toes curled into the comforter while Veemon simply grinned up at her.
"Thanks. Jun did them for me." She said.
"It's nice to see you two are getting along better." Veemon commented.
As Veemon had noticed when he first appeared in front of Daisuke, his human was growing into a beautiful young lady and he knew that the boys would be flocking to her if she showed herself off more.
Then again, all of the female members of the DigiDestineds were gorgeous girls and attracted many males to them, but Daisuke was the late bud to bloom and he knew she would be the most beautiful of them all.
Though he would admit to being bias since it was his human he was thinking about.
"Yeah. Anyway, let's get to sleep. I've got school tomorrow." Daisuke shook her head as she tried to will away the blush.
In truth, she really liked the pampering she got from her sister and found it to be fun, but there was no way she would admit to that.
"Right!" Veemon chirped as he nestled down under the covers beside his partner.
(The next day…)
Arriving at school, Daisuke had bumped into Henry and they spent time together before class, talking before they were found by a worried Takato.
He started talking frantically about Guilmon beginning to disappear from his sights which took the duo by surprise as they stared at the brunette.
"Wait, what? What happened?" Daisuke interrupted.
"Start at the beginning." Henry instructed.
"Okay, we were walking and then, I don't know. It's like half of him was there and the other half was starting to be rubbed out by an eraser." Takato said.
"That doesn't sound normal." Daisuke frowned.
"Well, Digimon aren't of this world. Maybe some of them can't last long here and they get pulled back into their world or something like that. Or maybe our world eliminates them like the body gets rid of a virus." Henry suggested.
"There's no way that's true. I know plenty of people who have lived with their Digimon in our world for years and this never happened to them." Daisuke rejected the idea.
"But Guilmon just got here. I don't want him to disappear. He just can't go back to the other side." Takato said looking distressed.
Terriermon and Veemon, who had both been silently listening to the conversation, walked over to join in on it with the humans.
"Momentai. The world I'm from, the world you're from, they're really both the same if you think about it." Terriermon commented.
"Yeah, well, thanks Professor, but I want him here." Takato pouted.
"That may not be possible, Takato." Henry stared at the ground.
"What?" Takato gasped.
Scooping up Veemon in her arms, Daisuke turned to stare at Henry with a questioning look in her eyes.
He seemed to have taken on a depressing air and it made her wonder what was going on through his mind at the moment.
"What are you trying to say, Henry? Do you know something? Tell me." Takato said.
"I just know that nothing can last forever, Takato. Nothing. I'm sorry." Henry told him.
"Well, this can and it will." Takato declared before running off.
"So, what exactly were you trying to do here? Because, to me, it looked like you just crushed his spirit." Veemon commented.
"Yeah, what was up with that?" Daisuke asked.
Avoiding the girl's eyes, Henry stared down at the ground and it made her worry over the Chinese boy and wonder if she could do anything to change his mood.
(In class…)
"What do I do if Henry's right and Guilmon disappears?" Takato asked.
Asaji was writing on the chalkboard and everyone was paying attention, except for Takato and Daisuke.
The boy was still depressed over what he heard from Henry while Daisuke was curious over what could have happened to Guilmon.
Digimon didn't simply disappear from sight for no reason, there was always something that happened like a portal opening or an evil Digimon causing mischief.
"He can't leave me. Maybe if he Digivolved, he'd have enough strength to fight whatever's trying to erase him." Takato mused.
"I don't know. Hey, Takato, when did this happen anyway?" Daisuke asked.
"By a building I walk by to school." Takato informed.
"Digivolve?" Jeri asked.
Stunned that the girl had heard them talking, they looked over at Jeri who smiled at them and held up her puppet.
"Bad!" She barked.
"Was she eavsedropping on us?" Daisuke narrowed her eyes.
"Girl's nuts, don't worry so much." Veemon spoke up from under the desk.
"Okay kids, the city wants me to talk to you about the tunnels beneath the park that's for use when the rain causes flooding, but it seems like a useless lesson to me." Asaji commented.
Stunned by the news, Daisuke and Takato stared at the drawing Asaji had made on the chalkboard and stared at it.
"I mean everybody already knows about the tunnels, right?" Asaji asked.
"I don't." The goggle duo said.
"So, this tunnel," Asaji began.
(After school…)
Remembering the walk Takato took from Guilmon's house to school, Daisuke went over to check it out.
Walking up to the wired fence that separated her from the building, Daisuke stared up at it in confusion before using her cellphone to take pictures of it.
Veemon, who was standing off to the side watching, spoke up.
"What are you doing, Daisuke?" Veemon asked.
"I'm sending these pictures to Izzy. Maybe he can figure out what this building is and what it does." Daisuke informed.
"Do you really think this building and whatever's inside of it had something to do with what happened to Guilmon earlier?" Veemon questioned.
"That or maybe there's some weird portal here that we can't see." Daisuke said.
Feeling curious, Veemon walked over to the fence and tried to see if he could sense a Digi Gate or Digital Field but couldn't.
When he got too close, he felt tired.
"Oh, don't feel good." He whined.
"Veemon?" Daisuke looked down at him.
Her eyes grew wide in horror at what she saw.
Veemon's body was being erased from reality!
Gasping in horror at what she was seeing, Daisuke reacted quickly and stepped into the distortion, her body releasing a gold aura as it did so.
The second Veemon was safely in her arms, the golden aura destroyed the distortion and the dragon Digimon was returned to his natural state.
"What in the flying heck was that?!" Daisuke gasped.
"I don't know, but I never wanna deal with it again." Veemon whined.
Curling up in his partner's arms, Veemon felt the power of Miracles pulsing through his body and knew that Daisuke had accidentally activated it in her fear of losing him.
He, the other Digimon and Gennai had a feeling that Daisuke could manipulate the power of Miracles just like Kari could the power of Light but were unsure of how they could do it.
It seemed like Daisuke's worry for Veemon had just activated it and halted whatever was trying to destroy him.
What Daisuke was unaware of, was that she had just ruined the plans of the people in the building and destroyed their program and a certain blond who enjoyed fiddling with a lighter was very angry.
Upon returning home, Daisuke contacted Izzy and told him what happened and he was quick to get into contact with Willis so they could work together to figure out what had happened.
When the information was given that the building had something to do with the issue, Daisuke called up Henry, Takato and Rika to give them a warning that someone else might be getting involved with Digimon and trying to destroy them all.
Henry and Takato were shocked over this information, Rika sounded calmer, but Daisuke could sense how stressed the girl was at the information.
Now that her friends knew that something was trying to destroy their partners, Daisuke prayed that they would all be safe.
Also, if anyone tried to hurt her friends, she would destroy them.
To be continued…
