"You know—if you're hungry, then just say so." Hide said with his chin resting to his palm, staring at his best friend's eyes which were fixated on the small cotton drabbed with another small bandage over his inner elbow. His brown eyes followed Kaneki's gaze as he moved his arm closer to the other. "I would gladly give a piece of me."

Kaneki finally snapped out from his trance and shook his head furiously, "Hide, what are you talking about?" He frowned, denying once more, not realizing that it's futile. "I am not hungry."

Hide scoffed, "Yeah, say that while there's a drool coming out from your mouth." Immediately, Kaneki wiped off his drool with his sleeve, oh god was that embarrassing. "And I was just from that blood donor campaign—it wouldn't hurt if I gave some to your; ghouls can be satisfied by blood, right?"

Again, he didn't like the idea—his friend wasn't food, and that's final. Even though he offered himself as one, he wouldn't eat Hide! Sadly, his actions betrayed his thoughts—another drool came out. Oh, disgusting. "Come on; be honest a little with your words."

"I'm already am—and you, yourself aren't that honest either, are you?"

"Who said I was?" He grinned innocently, leaning back to the comfortable sofa. It was soft against his back, but it wasn't that soft either; it still had its hardness. He suddenly felt he could sleep right now on the sofa. "I have some of my secrets as well."

The half ghoul huffed, sipping another of Hide's own brewed coffee. The ones in Anteiku are way tastier, but he remembered how Hide swore that he'll make a coffee as delicious as they were in Anteiku… someday. "Then we're even, I also have some."

A laugh came from him, "Nah, I know almost everything of you—like how you sleep, what your dreams are, your embarrassing childhood memories, your favorite things, dislikes, hobbies, your type of girl—"

"Shut up, Hide." A tinge of pink appeared for a second, before he covered it with his hand. Hide caught this opportunity to tease Kaneki, of course; "Aww, is my little Kaneki getting embarrassed?" Kaneki caught his poking finger from his nose—he hated when Hide does that. "No, I am not! If that's the case, then I also know everything of you, jeez."

Hide poked out his tongue to irritate his best friend, "No you don't, I, at least have a secret I kept for a looooong time."

Kaneki felt the challenge, "Oh yeah? Spill."

He grinned again, this time, with a tinge of mischief. "If I say it, it will be more to a question than a statement." ("who cares, just spill it" the hybrid mumbled, rolling his eyes) He leaned to the table that separated him from Kaneki. "Kaneki Ken, want to date me?"

It came in like a struck to him, but he wasted no time to answer it—like what Hide said once, his actions speak louder than words. So he did, he expressed his answer with an action Hide clearly did not expect. Kaneki slammed the table with his fist, as his other hand held Hide's collar.

He leaned closer to him as the distance between them closed—a warm fuzzy feeling entering the both of them. Once they part (which was they both agree they didn't want to), a chuckle released itself from Kaneki's lips. "Yes."

"Yes, I do."
