Chapter 7

In an ice cream store, somewhere in the desert, Percy, Ben and Gwen were standing inside looking at the selection of ice-cream flavours the shop had to offer while Grandpa Max was outside at the ATM getting some money. As they were looking Gwen decided to ask the clerk a question.

"What do you have that's non-fat and less than three percent sugar?" she asked while Percy had to hold back a chuckle when he heard the question.

"Napkins," the clerk said annoyed before turning to Percy "Do you want the same as your girlfriend?"

This cause both Percy and Gwen to blush and stutter out replies, "w-w-we're not d-dating s-sir." Gwen said but the clerk just ignored her and looked at Ben.

"What about you kid?" he asked, clearly unhappy with his job.

As Ben was about to reply, they all heard the sound of chains clanking onto the pavement. As they turned around they noticed a big guy with a hook connected to a chain was walking towards the ATM.

Ben turned back to the clerk and said "I'm about to go rocky road", a smirk on his face as he said it, before running out of the store.

Gwen turned to Percy who was standing there looking at the ice cream flavours bored.

"Aren't you going to go help him?" She asked raising an eyebrow at him while he simply sighed before putting his hands in his pockets and looking at her.

"He wouldn't need my help for this and it'd be a waste of the watch's energy if we both used it" Percy said bored before he started to walk towards the exit leaving Gwen behind.

Gwen just sighed before she followed Percy out of the shop. When she came up out she saw Percy standing opposite Grandpa Max, who had his foot on one of the men from before, and a technological looking alien which she remembered Ben had called Upgrade.

As she got closer she heard Ben/Upgrade ask "-What's next?" in his robotic like voice.

"We're off to see your Aunt Vera for the weekend." Max replied much to Ben's horror, Gwen's excitement and Percy's confusion.

"Boring old Aunt Vera? Noooo" he complained, though his voice didn't seem to change much.

Percy turned to Gwen with his head tilted slightly, "Whose Vera? And what's so bad about her?" he asked, confused at Ben's reaction.

"She's our Great Aunt who moved to a retirement village, it'll be the first time we've seen her since she moved there" Gwen explained with a smile "Ben just thinks she boring because she doesn't do what he classifies as fun." She added.

Percy just nodded and was about to say something before he was cut off by Upgrade timing out and turning back to Ben.

"Come on kids we better hit the road so we can go see your Aunt" Max called as he walked towards the RV.

The three kids just looked at each other before deciding to follow Max, when they got in they saw that he was already sitting in the driver's seat with his seat belt on and waiting for them to get seated.

They all moved towards the table and sat down with Ben on one side and Gwen and Percy on the other side. Seeing them seat Max started the engine before heading off towards his sister's home, in the back though they had started talking about random stuff.

"Hey guys don't you think we should give Percy's aliens different names to what Ben has given them?" Gwen asked as she started her laptop up.

"Why would we want to rename them? The names I give them are awesome!" Ben cheered as laid sideways across the chair, leaning his back against the RV's wall.

"Maybe so that when you're both the same alien we have different names to call you by so you don't get confused" Gwen remarked sarcastically, a look of annoyance crossing her face.

"That might not be the best idea," Percy input into the conversation for the first time "while it would be useful that I had different names it'll get confusing for me and Ben when we're trying to work out what aliens to go."

"But don't you want your own alien names?" Gwen asked.

"Not at the moment maybe in the future I'll start naming them." Percy suggested to have the topic dropped.

Percy and Ben were sitting in their chairs bored while Gwen did some of the dishes. They had spent most of their time downing their own things to pass the time, Gwen had been doing things on her laptop, Ben had been messing with the alien watch and Percy had been playing around with a pack of cards that was laying around.

"You know when Aunt Vera said she wanted to get away from it all she really meant it." Gwen commented, breaking the silence.

"Oh man this summer was meant to be about F.U.N, not hanging out in some old ladies place." Ben complained for the hundredth time it felt like to them.

"I like Aunt Vera" Gwen commented with a smirk as she faced away from the boys.

"Duuh, it's because you act like you're a hundred years old." Ben retorted before turning to look out the window.

"Just because Gwen enjoys spending time with her Great Aunt doesn't make her old," Percy commented from where he sat, leaning against the RV wall.

"See Percy gets me." Gwen said, sticking her tongue out at Ben.

"Just means she likes old things," Percy teased, making Ben burst out in laughter and Gwen to look at him with her jaw hanging open, "better close your mouth otherwise a fly might get in." he added cheekily, causing Gwen to get over her shock and glare at him with a blush of embarrassment on her face.

Deciding the be the mature person she was Gwen stuck her tongue out at him before turning back to the dishes, blushing more when she heard Percy chuckling behind her.

They went back into silence as they continued to drive, finding different ways to past the time. Gwen and Percy had started to do stuff on her laptop while Ben messed around with the watch. Eventually they entered the retirement village where Ben complained once again.

"This is going to be so boring," he complained whilst looking out the window, "There idea of excitement is probably watched the grass grow."

Both Percy and Gwen looked up from the laptop screen to look at Ben with narrowed eyes, there was only so much of his complaining either of them could take of him before he started to get annoying.

Staring out side in boredom, Ben watched as an old man tried climbing up a roof, presumably his own, before suddenly sliding down and performing a back flip to land on the grass, something an old person should be capable of doing.

"Whoa did you guys see that?" he asked as he turned to face them.

Again the two tore their sights away from the computer screen to look outside only to a bunch of old people walking around and acting like, well old people.

"See what?" Gwen asked confused "The heat must be frying that pea sized brain of yours." She added before going back to her screen.

"What are you guys working on anyway? Can't be that interesting." Ben asked, finally voicing the question that's been on his mind since they started whatever it was they were doing.

"It's nothing really me and Gwen are just researching stuff about the Greco-Roman pantheon" Percy said nonchalantly while scrolling through a document, none of them noticed Grandpa Max stiffen slightly up front at the mention of what they were doing.

"The Greco-what?" Ben asked tilting his head to the side.

"The Greco-Roman pantheon, it's the combined mythological pantheon of both Greek and Roman myths and legends," Gwen explained slowly as if she was talking to a five year old "we're looking into them because of both Percy and I's interest in them."

"Boring" Ben sung before placing his head on the table in front of him. A few minutes later they pulled up on the side of the road and stopped in front of one of the houses.

"We'll here we are let's get out so we can introduce Percy to Vera." Max said as he unbuckled himself from the driver's seat.

Ben got up from his seat and headed for the door while Percy and Gwen stayed at the table so they could save the stuff that they had researched before shutting the laptop down. As Ben opened the door he was he was assaulted by the harsh sunlight and heat of the place.

"Seriously why do old people had to live where it's so hot!" Ben asked while shading his eyes with his hand.

Ben started walking towards the house, unaware of the devilish smirks Percy and Gwen were giving him from where they were behind him. As he was walking he was suddenly shot in the back with freezing cold what, making him yelp a bit in surprise at the sudden coolness on his back.

"H-H-Hey" he stuttered, shivering a bit. Percy and Gwen just laughed at him as they ran past, neither noticing the old man staring at them creepily from the window next door.

"I should warn you Percy Vera's a pincher so watch your cheeks" Max warned as walked up behind the two who were still chuckling at what they did to Ben.

Before Percy could ask what he meant they heard the sound of a door closing behind them and turned around to see an old woman in a purple dress with black shorts on underneath.

"Vera!" Max said as he opened his arms and gave her a hug.

"I can't believe you're finally here," Vera said as she broke away from hugging her brother and hugged Gwen, before pulling away and pinching her cheeks, "and look at you two, all so grown up."

"Ow" Gwen muttered under her breath when Vera let go to give Ben a hug, repeating the process with and a getting the same result.

She suddenly turned to Percy who was snickering at the other two's pain before suddenly paling when he saw her approach him.

"And you must be Percy Max told me a lot about you." Vera said giving Percy a hug before going to pinch his cheeks but was given a small static shock before she could, "oh well that was unexpected, anyway come on in, I can't wait to chew the fat with all of you." She said before heading for the door.

Gwen held Percy back so they could follow behind, allowing her to ask him a question.

"What did you do to Vera?" she asked quietly, so the others didn't hear them.

"I'm not sure, I think my powers might have generated a small electric shock, which caused her to back away." Percy whispered back as they entered into the house, both sighing when they felt it being cooler inside.

They both started to look around when they heard Ben sniff, "why do old peoples house always smells like someone's cooking socks or something?" he asked and got weird looks from both Percy and Gwen.

Soon the five of them were sitting down at the dining table with some kind of jelly on the plates in front of them.

"Ooo Vera this is delicious," Max complimented "now what are these brown chunks in the mold?" he asked

"Pork chops," Vera said "and the white ones are cauliflower."

Percy, Gwen and Ben all looked at each other nervously, none of them wanting to eat this weird recipe that Vera created.

"So Ben what have you been doing so far this summer?" Vera asked curiously.

"Dealing with alien life forms." He replied simply, making Percy hit his head against the table.

"Oh you" Vera laughed at what he said, believing it to be a joke.

As Percy lifted his head off the table he saw Gwen look at something behind him, he watched as she got up and continued to watch her as she went to look at the collection of birds on display.

"Aunt Vera is a stuffed Red Bill North American chickadee?" Gwen asked curiously pointing to one of stuffed birds. Percy just looked at the bookcase and realised what Ben meant by this place being boring, after fighting bad guys this was pretty slow paced.

"Very perspective of you Gwen" Vera said as she got up to stand next to her "and did you know that the song of the Red Bill North American Chickadee is actually-"

"A call indicating alarm or excitement" they both finish in unison before doing a bird call together. Percy sighed before turning back to the table and noticed that while Gwen was talking Ben had put his food onto her plate.

"Aww man I am totally stuffed" Ben said as he put his hand over his stomach to prove his point, Percy just rolled his eyes.

"Ben, Percy would you like some candy?" Vera asked, holding a bowl of brown candy.

"Now we're talking." Ben said as both he and Percy reached into the bowl to grab one each.

As tossed the piece of candy into their mouths they started to chew before its flavour made them stop and spit it back out into their hands. "Coffee, as a candy? Is this some kind of joke?" Ben asked as he coughed slightly, he quickly got out of his seat and ran down the hall "I need to use the bathroom." He said over his shoulder.

The others looked at him strangely before Percy got up from his seat and went the direction Ben did "I'll go, uh, check to see if he's alright." Percy explained before walking a bit faster to where Ben had gone.

When he reached the bathroom door he knocked lightly "you alright in their dude?" Percy asked.

Suddenly the door opened and Percy was pulled inside before the door shut behind him. Turning around he saw that it was Ben as Ghostfreak that had pulled him into the bathroom.

"You weren't planning to leave me here while you were out having fun, weren't you?" Percy asked with a mock glare at Ghostfreak.

"Uhh, maybe?" Ghostfreak replied more as a question then an answer while shrugging his shoulders.

Percy just sighed before he brought his watch up and pushed the button to make the dial popup, allowing him to scroll through aliens before landing on his only one that would allow him to sneak out. Pushing down the dial Percy was instantly enveloped in a green light.

When the light died down standing in Percy's place was the silver and black moth alien Ben had called Big Chill. The looked at each other before going intangible and flew into the lounge room where they saw Gwen holding a sea shell to her ear.

"Lossser…" Ghostfreak whispered as he floated near the shell, causing Gwen's eyes to go wide in shock.

"Loser. Ehehehahaha" He whispered again before starting to laugh.

"Ben? Percy?" Gwen questioned as she turned around to see that both Percy and Ben were intangible and were partly into the wall, Percy upper body was sticking into the room while Ben had his arm sticking through the wall.

"See yah, wouldn't want to be yah." Ghostfreak chanted as he flew through the wall, Big Chill just gave her a sympathetic look before leaving the house as well.

"There has to be something fun to do around here." Ghostfreak said as they looked around to find something to do. The problem was quickly solved when they found two golf carts that were unoccupied, parked across the street.

"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Big Chill asked when he saw the golf carts.

"Oh yeah" Ghostfreak answered and the two instantly flew other to the golf carts, taking one each, before turning them on. Big Chill, having the golf cart behind Ghostfreak's, pulled out onto the street next to him and said "first one to the end of the street wins? Loser has to do whatever the other says for a week?"

"Oh you're so on Perce, I can't wait to see you doing whatever I say for the next week." Ghostfreak taunted as they started the engines.

"On three." Big Chill said as Ghostfreak nodded in response.

"One… Two… Three!" and with that they raced down the road as fast as the carts would allow them. Which actually wasn't that fast but they were still getting fun from trying to win their bet and seeing the old people's confused expressions as they drove past.

Soon Big Chill found himself at the end of the street a good five seconds before Ghostfreak, officially making him the winner of the bet. When Ghostfreak got to the end of the street Big Chill grinned at him smugly, well as good as he could in his alien form at least, as Ghostfreak glared at him with his one eye.

"Looks like you'll be doing everything I ask for the next week." Big Chill teased as he floated around Ghostfreak who simply glared at him.

"Yeah, yeah what-" Ghostfreak said before he cut off, suddenly interested in something behind Big Chill. When he turned around he found what had caught Ghostfreak's attention, it was Vera's next door neighbour Marty swerving to avoid a puddle of water.

"Wonder what mister friendly's up to." Ghostfreak said before floating back to his golf cart and followed behind the old man, causing Percy to sigh in annoyance before following behind him.

After a few minutes of following Marty, the old man came to a stop out front of enclosed area with a gate in front, from the sky Big Chill could see it was wear they kept the dumpsters. When the old man got to the gate he surprised both of them when his legs extended up over the fence, allowing him to walk over it. Big Chill watched as Ghostfreak followed the mysterious old man into the area, but became alarmed when he heard the sound of Ghostfreak timing out.

Acting fast Big Chill dived down and grabbed Ghostfreak just as he changed back, causing the creepy guy to turn his all the way around to face them. Luckily Big Chill was already moving before the alien could react, and had started flying back to Vera's house whilst carrying Ben.

"That was the creepiest thing I have ever seen so far this summer." Ben said as he tried looking behind them to see if Marty was following them. "Did you see that trap door that was hidden underneath the dumpster? I wonder what's down there." Ben said as they continued to fly above the houses.

"Don't know, don't care at the moment, all I want is to be able to get back to Vera's before my watch times out." Big Chill said and suddenly the beeping sound that signalled a timeout started, "Me and my big mouth." Big Chill whined while quickly getting back to the ground, hoping to close the distance between them and the ground before he timed out, which he luckily got them close enough so that that they only had to roll a bit to land safely.

Once they were steady they sprinted back to Vera's house to tell Max and Gwen.

"Grandpa! Gwen!" Ben yelled as they entered the house, only to get shushed by Max.

"Shhh, you're Aunt Vera's in bed." Max whispered angrily, causing Percy and Ben to look at him strangely.

"Seriously? It's only like 6:30," Ben said before remembering what he wanted to say "Never mind listen, this whole place is creepier that I thought. Marty, that weird next door neighbour, is like an E.T or something with a face on the back of his head and-"

"Ben you snuck out Aunt Vera was hurt." Gwen interrupted, ignoring what Ben had just told them, while Percy took a step away from Ben but froze when Gwen glared at him "She was also hurt you snuck out to Percy." She added.

"Ahh, she's old she'll forget." Ben said simply, "Ok I say I go Four Arms while Percy goes Humungousaur and we go check out Marty's Apartment." He suggested.

"Well maybe we should do some investigating but you two stay as you are," Max agreed, making Ben frown when he heard he couldn't go alien, "Us old folkies don't forget as much as you think." Max added, making his voice sound older, before winking at them and walking off.

"You know ever since you two got those watches, you've been like magnets for the weird." Gwen said as she turned the two boys.

Ben suddenly started to lean towards Gwen before saying "You're right."

"Very funny," Gwen said while glaring at her cousin, Percy just chose to stand back, slightly afraid of annoying Gwen too much.

The three of them quickly ran outside when they heard Max calling for them. When they got out side they saw him standing there waiting for them patiently. When saw them come out he motioned his head in a way to tell them to follow him, before heading over to Marty's apartment.

"Hello, anyone home?" Max called into the house after opening the he had found was left unlocked, putting a finger to his lips to tell the kids to be quiet, he walks into the dark house.

As they looked walked through the house, the only sounds that could be hear wear from the old grandfather clock that was ticking away. When they got further into the house they were all startled by the sudden flapping of something in the dark, only to find it was a coat on the coat rack that had been blown by the wind.

"Well nothing here seems outta wack." Max commented.

"Except for what he rolled up in his rug… That was right here." Ben said as he stood in front of spot that showed the outline of a rectangular object. When Ben turned around he saw his Grandpa just staring at him with his arms crossed while Percy was standing beside Gwen, looking a bit bored.

They left the Marty's apartment and headed back to Vera's so that they could set up their makeshift beds on the couches in the lounge room, because they didn't have enough couch space Percy had nominated himself to take a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor, though he had a feeling he wouldn't stay in it long.

"You three sleep well, now I'll be in the guest room if you need me." Max said as he looked down at the three of them.

"But Grandpa…" Ben started before he was cut off by said person.

"There's nothing more we can do tonight. Now I'm going for an early walk in the morning, but once I'm back we'll check things out again. Now get some rest." Max said before leaving to go to bed.

The three of them all quickly grabbed their clothes and tried to rush to the bathroom to get changed, but unfortunately for Percy and Gwen, Ben was able to get in a close the just before they could, leaving the two of them standing there waiting for Ben to finish.

"I'm sorry by the way." Percy said suddenly, surprising Gwen who looked at him in confusion, "For leaving with Ben before, it's just I need to something more exciting that standing around talking about birds." He clarified when he saw her face.

Gwen just closed her eyes and looked down as she sighed, before looking up at his eyes "It's fine, I understand that your ADHD wouldn't allow you to sit still for more than a few minutes at most, it's just when you left I was kinda lonely and bored." Gwen explained before quickly adding "Not that my Aunt Vera bores me or anything, it's just I wanted to spend some time with you."

As Percy was about to reply the door to the bathroom opened to reveal Ben standing there in his pyjamas with his normal clothes under his arm. Ben did bother to say anything, he just placed his dirty clothes in a pile next to the couch he chose sleep on before laying down on the couch and pulled the blanket over him, falling asleep instantly.

Gwen and Percy just rolled their eyes both Gwen quickly ran into the bathroom and shut the door, making Percy groan deciding to just quickly get changed now before Gwen got out. Once he had changed into his pyjamas Percy walked back to his sleeping bag before putting the clothes beside it and climbing in.

He was alerted that Gwen had come out of the bathroom by the sound of the door opening and closing, but he just ignored it as he tried to get comfy in his sleeping bag. His attention was behind him when he felt someone tap him on the back, turning around he saw Gwen standing behind him with her arms crossed.

"Come on, you can sleep with me." Gwen whispered to him, not wanting to disturb Ben "But you have to promise to not leave me while you're off doing something fun, got it?" Gwen quietly threatened.

"Yep, crystal clear, never leave you behind if I'm able to bring you." Percy replied quickly as he got up and gave her the thumbs up in a sign of understanding.

Sighing Gwen just gestured to the couch where she was going to sleep on, signalling that she wanted Percy to lay down first. Following her unsaid order Percy lay down on his side with his back against the back of the couch allowing Gwen to lay next to him, which she did as she lay down next to him with her back pressed against his and wrapped his arms around her stomach. It did not take long for the two of them to fall asleep together, both unaware of the creature that had captured Vera.

"Prune juice, prune juice, and oh what a surprise prune juice." Ben said as he looked inside the fridge before he turned around and shut the door, "why does it seem like old people are always old?" He questioned.

At the question Percy and Gwen looked at each other, a silent agreement that their friend/ cousin was, at times, weirder than he normal was. Before they could voice this opinion though they notice Vera walking into the kitchen area with a blank expression on her face.

"Morning Aunt Vera, how'd you sleep?" Gwen asked as she turned away from the sink with a glass of water in her hands.

"Just… Fine, how about you?" Vera asked emotionally as she reached and grabbed Ben's cheeks and pinched them.

"Fine Aunt Vera." Ben said in a pained voice from the strength of her pinching.

"I made you some coffee." Gwen said as she held a tray with a coffee mug and a glass of water on it and started to make her way over to Vera but accidentally tripped, spilling the water and coffee on the floor. "Sorry" Gwen apologised as the water started to spread across the floor and towards Vera.

Percy watched curiously as he saw Vera freak out and back up when the water neared her before jumping up and surprising the three kids as she did the splits to keep herself from getting wet.

"Clean it up! Clean it up right now!" Vera shouted in fear, confusing the three of them at her strange behaviour.

Percy and Ben stared at Vera in shock as she displayed flexibility she didn't possess the other day, while Gwen stared at Percy with a look of concern, starting to realise that what her cousin and best friend had seen was real.

"I'm sorry…" Gwen apologised again before grabbing a towel and started to wipe up the mess she had made.

When the water had been cleaned up from underneath her Vera quickly released her legs from their position and landed on her feet. Unnoticed to all but Percy, who had chosen to keep a close eye on 'Vera', her eyes darted to Max's room which was currently empty with the bed made and the door open.

"Where did you grandfather go?" 'Vera' questioned in a sharp tone.

"He was going for an early walk." Gwen said with worry in her voice, unnoticed by the other Percy started to use his ability over water to see if it was really Vera and was slightly surprised when he saw that the thing standing in front of them wasn't Vera.

"Well behave yourselves, I'll be back soon" 'Vera' said with a slight glare on her face before walking out of the house leaving the Tennyson children shocked while Percy looked angry.

"Something has stolen you Aunt and using it as a template to replicate." Percy said as he growled lowly while stared at the door 'Vera' walked out of.

"What do you mean something stole her?" Gwen asked in confusion while Ben had a look of realisation on his face

"Whatever has being possessing these old people, something has gotten to Aunt Vera and who knows how many of the fossils here." Ben answered for Percy who just nodded his head.

"She's probably going to get your grandpa right now, and I don't know about you guys but I'm going to find out what exactly is going on around her." Percy growled as he quickly made his way out of the house with Ben and Gwen quickly following behind him.

After a few minutes of walking the three children found themselves within an alleyway. "So where we headed Sherlock?" Gwen asked Percy who was standing beside her while Ben was behind them.

"We need to get back to that trap door by the dumpster," Percy said as he leaned against the wall and watched as a pair of old people walked past them, either not noticing or caring about what the three were up to. When the elderly had pasted them the three quickly ran across the road and headed for the dumpsters Percy and Ben had seen the other day.

After nearly an hour of walking around the retirement village just trying to find the dumpsters, having to take detours to avoid what they had assumed was their enemy in disguise. Eventually the three of them found the street that lead down to the dumpsters without getting caught.

"It's right over there!" Ben shouted as he and Percy led the way towards the place, Gwen following behind.

"Just follow the disgusting smell" Gwen muttered.

As they continued walking down the street a pair of old woman watched them, causing the three to nervously look at them. Suddenly the two woman snarled at them, revealing sharp yellow teeth before starting to attack them the hockey pucks that were place on the road in front of them.

"Duck!" Gwen shouted as they flew at them.

"Run!" Percy yelled as he grabbed both Ben and Gwen's wrist and dragged them out of the line of fire. Once he spotted a corner Percy quickly turned to avoid any more pucks hitting them.

As the three of them panted for breath they were startled by the sudden appearance of Max. "Guy's what's going on?" Max questioned as he came up to them.

"There everywhere!" Ben shouted franticly.

"I know. Come here, I'll protect you. GRAAAAAHH!" 'Max' started before roaring at the end as he teeth turned yellow and sharp, and his arms stretched to grab at them.

"Great! More running!" Percy shouted as he grabbed his friend's wrists again and pulled them around the corner just in time to avoid being grabbed the Max lookalike.

As the three continued to run down the road away from the alien they were forced to stop when three more lifted up a car in front of them and slowly advanced on them. When they turned around the found 'Max' was still chasing after them, trapping the three of them between one another.

"Ooo this is not good." Ben said as the three aliens holding the car suddenly bent down and pushed up, throwing the car in their direction. Looking behind them Percy noticed that 'Max' was getting closer so timing it correctly he managed to push the two Tennysons out of the way as well as duck out of the way as the car smashed into 'Max'.

When the Ben and Gwen heard the crash they turned around to see Percy standing behind them and Max hidden from view.

"No!" Gwen shouted, believing her grandfather to have been killed by the car. She was shocked, along with her cousin, to see a blob of green goo crawl out from underneath the car and reform into a blob before becoming more defined and like Max, expect his eye having been changed.

"Come on the trap door!" Percy shouted as he slowly backed up to stand beside Ben, turning to face Ben and unspoken message was passed between the two before the both slammed on the devices on their wrist.

In a flash of blinding green light, Percy and Ben felt the familiar change that occurred whenever they used their watches. When the light died down he forms of Ben and Percy had been replaced by two very unique creatures.

In place of Ben stood a large orange dog the size of a car, the dog had no eyes, ears, nose or a tail, but three gill-like things could be spotted on each side of his neck along with a black brace on his left shoulder that held the hour glass symbol on in. In Percy's place though stood a tall alien who had a black and white colour scheme and had a green eye in the middle of his head. He had two antennae coming from the back of his head and a tall, all three ending in plugs, he had four fingers on each hand with similar plugs on the tip of each finger as well as two front toes and the hour glass symbol on his chest.

"Oh yeah! Feedback and Wildmutt are so going to kick your alien butts!" the now identified Feedback said as he looked over himself, "but first we got to get down that hatch." He added quickly as he turned around and ran over to Gwen to help.

Wildmutt only growled in response as he slowly backed up to them, keeping guard of the aliens in front of them. When Feedback saw that Gwen was having trouble moving the dumpster he grabbed one of the sides and threw it behind him, going over Wildmutt and smashing into the approaching aliens. Not bothering to look back Feedback grabbed the trapdoor and ripped the pieces of wood off its hinges, unintentionally cutting through two of the aliens.

"Time to go doggy!" Feedback shouted as he grabbed Gwen and wrapped her arms around his neck before he jumped down into the hole, Gwen screaming in his ear the whole way down. The only response he got that Wildmutt was following him was the sound of barking followed by something large sliding down the dirt. Once the three of them reached the bottom they looked up to see the creatures were crawling down after them.

"Alright boy let's go and save little Timmy." Feedback teased as he started to run down the tunnel, Wildmutt growling and barking behind him as he followed and Gwen quietly giggling from her place on his back. As they continued down the tunnel the three of them suddenly forced to stop when they came to a fork in the road.

"Alright Benny which way do we go?" Feedback asked as he looked down at Wildmutt who had his head close to the ground and was sniffing the ground, trying find a scent that could lead them towards the aliens hide out. As Feedback watched Wildmutt sniff the floor he noticed that his friend suddenly stiffened and turned his back to face them, before he could ask though his own senses went off and he quickly had the antennae on the back of his had wrap around the arms that were about to grab Gwen.

Quickly Feedback sent a surge of electricity through them, shocking the alien he had grabbed before chucking the alien against the wall in front of him. Because of the electrical charge that Feedback gave the alien it found itself unable to move its body as it slammed into tunnel wall before Feedback sent a ball of energy at it, causing it to screech in pain and for some of the wall to collapse onto it.

"We got to go now before that thing gets back up!" Feedback shouted as Wildmutt quickly grabbed Gwen and threw her onto his back before running down one of the tunnels with Feedback following closely behind.

"Whoa! You don't come with seatbelts remember!" Gwen yelled at Wildmutt as they ran down the tunnel. As they continued running they noticed a dead end was coming up ahead of them, so thinking fast Feedback started making a ball of energy to try break the blockage but as he did he noticed that both his and Wildmutt's dial's started beeping and flashing read, signalling their time was running out.

Throwing the small ball of energy that he had been able to create with his final reserves, Feedback threw it at wall just in time for Wildmutt to leap through and timed out once he landed, transforming back into Ben who was lying flat on the ground with Gwen sitting on top of him. Feedback however wasn't as lucky as his watch timed out and transformed him back into Percy while he was still in the air, though he fortunately wasn't that high off the ground and was able to get away with minor bruising and a sore butt.

"Listen I don't know what it is but I pick up some kind of scent in here." Ben informed them as he started to lead them down to the end of the tunnel, which opened up into a large cave. Within the cave sat a large, circular spaceship, surrounded by dozens of green pods.

Managing to get down safely, the three of them started to head down towards the spaceship which sat in the centre. "It's like everyone in the retirement village has been podded up." Gwen commented as she looked around at all the pods surrounding them.

Percy and Ben had continued on down the path until they stopped and stared at one pod in shock.

"Grandpa…" Ben muttered as he and Percy grabbed a hold of the pod and ripped it open, allowing for Max to fall out onto the ground.

"Uhh I was out for a walk and then…" Max groaned as he held onto his head "I can't remember what happened next." He groaned.

When Percy and Ben saw that Gwen was looking after Max they quickly went over to other pods to help get the people out before they were stopped by a sudden voice.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" 'Vera's' voice echoed in the cavern as the group of the aliens appeared behind them.

"Well you're not me!" Ben shouted back as the group backed up away from the aliens advancing towards them.

"Not yet I'm not." Marty, Vera's neighbour, said before his body started to bubble and turn into a transparent green slime substance, the alien's finally revealing their true form them.

"You can fill me in later." Max said as they continued to back up against the alien's space ship. Gwen, who was furthest behind the other three, placed her hand against the side of the ship causing it to open up a hatch revealing inside of the ship, dozens of more pods filled inside of it.

"Looks what's back here." Gwen said in surprise as she turned around to see more pods stored inside. This caught the attention of the other three who looked at what she found.

"Their ship." Percy said as he saw what Gwen had found before quickly turning back to face the aliens, keeping his guard up in case they chose to attack. Percy was aware of Max turning around and walking into ship to help Gwen, leaving himself and Ben as the guards between them and the aliens.

"They found it! We can't let them out!" The alien on the right shouted as the ship's external lights turned on.

"Get the pods on board. They've been marinating long enough." The middle alien order the two beside him.

"Marinating!?" Max shouted in question as Percy and Ben just stared at them in shock with wide eyes and jaws dropped.

"They've got Aunt Vera!" Gwen shouted as she looked up the pillar and saw her Aunt curled up inside a pod. Gwen's shouting caused both Ben and Percy to turn around to look at where she was.

Ben's face quickly turned serious as he looked down at the device on his wrist to see that it had turned green again. Pressing the button on the side to pop the dial up he twisted the dial until it showed the outline for Heatblast.

"You guys really burn me up." Ben said before slamming the dial down on the device causing his body to be enveloped in a green light, when he started to feel the heat coming from Ben's location Percy started to back up a bit for safety. When the light died he was bowing down on one knee with his head down.

"Now I'm going to return the favour." Heatblast said as he launched a torrent of flames from his hands towards the aliens.

As the torrent of consumed the three aliens it seemed to be doing nothing until they soon all moved closer together before combining with each other. When Heatblast stopped the flamethrower he was prepared to see the aliens hurt he was shocked, along with Percy who was silently watching from afar before joining, when he saw that the three slime aliens had combined together to form a huge blob which slowly took shape into that of a larger version of themselves.

"Whoever you are. You just made a terrible mistake. Us Limaxs live for the heat. Why do you think we came to the desert in the summer?" the alien, now identified as a Limax, questioned Heatblast.

Before Heatblast was able to do anything though a Percy's voice called out from behind him, "Well I guess I'm going to just have to cool you down then aren't I?" he asked before a flash of green light surrounded him, signalling that he had transformed.

When Heatblast and the giant Limax looked behind to where Percy once was they saw that now standing in his place was Big Chill who had his wings wrapped around him like a hooded robe, his breath being seen coming in puffs of steam.

"A Necrofriggian! What's it doing here!?" The large Limax yelled is shock and horror causing Big Chill to smirk at it before opening his and flying straight at it.

The Limax tried to swat Big Chill away but whenever its hand was going to make contact, Big Chill would go intangible and freeze which ever part he flew through. This only caused the Limax to scream in pain as it felt the ice encase its body. It didn't take long before Big Chill flew into the body of the Limax and started to freeze its entire body, ignoring its cries as it happened.

Once the Limax was completely encased Big Chill flew out and landed down next to Heatblast, who had been helping Gwen and Max in getting to elderly off the space shuttle, wrapping his wings around his body again.

"You mind turning up the heat on these slime punks?" Big Chill asked as he turned to Heatblast who just smirked and cracked his knuckles before walking in front of Big Chill and sending another torrent of flames at the now frozen alien.

The effects were instant, as soon as the melted ice touched the alien it started to melt and die from being exposed to water. It only took a minute before the entire alien was melted, in that time Big Chill, Gwen and Max had been able to get all pods out of the ship. And in the nick of time as one of the Limax that somehow survived slivered onto the ship before having it take off.

"We should put them all back in their condos so they think they never left." Max said as he stood on the edge of the crater that was left behind by the ship taking off.

"That could take hours." Gwen groaned as she slid down the pod containing her Aunt and sitting on the ground.

Looking at one another, Big Chill and Heatblast both smirked at each other before they turned back to look at Gwen and Max.

"Give us a few minutes, we'll see if XLR8 can help out." Big Chill told them with a wide grin on his face.

It took Percy and Ben at least twenty minutes to get all the residents back into their own condos again, they found themselves having to guess for a few of the residents since they weren't aware were they all lived. After that they decided to get some rest before heading off again the next morning, which was where they were now.

"Don't be strangers." Vera said as she released her younger brother from their hug.

"We won't." Max assured with a smirk before moving out of the way for Percy and Gwen who walked up behind him.

"Bye Aunt Vera." Gwen said with a smile while Percy just gave a small wave himself instead of saying anything.

"Bye dear," Vera said as she knelt in front of Gwen, "Oh this is for the road," she continued as she handed Gwen a green jelly, "Ben told me how much you liked my gelatin mold, this one's lime with chunks of groper and chickpeas." She finished while Gwen just looked at the gelatin awkwardly while Ben and Percy had wide grins on their faces.

"Ahh… thanks." Gwen thanked awkwardly before getting a hug from her Aunt and walking away with the gelatin, Percy was going to follow her but Vera gripped his shoulder from where she sat crouched.

"I expect you to take good care of my niece Percy, I don't want anything bad to happen to her." Vera whispered to him seriously, taking Percy off guard since he hadn't seen her be serious most of the trip.

"I promise I'll do my best Vera." Percy assured her with a small smile. Vera just returned the smile before letting go of his shoulder and allowing him to make his way into the Rust Bucket where he saw Gwen sitting at the table looking at him curiously.

"What did she tell you?" Gwen asked when she saw him enter the RV.

"It was nothing important." Percy told her as he just smiled and slid into the seat next to her as they waited for Ben to hope in and head off to their next destination.

Hi there, I'm so sorry that it's taken me over 4 months to post this chapter but I've been getting caught up with school and other things.

This chapter has actually been nearly complete for about a month but I was distracted by exams and making sure I passed my classes so this was pushed aside for the time being.

Anyways I'll, hopefully, see you guys again sooner that before.
