S.R: Before we dive into the story I'd like to quickly mention this. I know in the last chapter I pointed out that this would take no more than 4 chapters to wrap up. That does not mean there will be 3 more after this one. That was just an estimation on how long the arc would be, plus it included an epilogue.

Natsu: Why are you telling us this?

S.R: Because after I finished writing this chapter I decided I don't need an epilogue, and after a few minutes of just sitting there I went back to work and pushed the story to the end since it was so close. In other words this is the last chapter.

Natsu: Well then… Should we shut up and let everyone get to the story already?

S.R: Of course. Please continue on now readers (for those of you that read these and don't just skip to the story).

NATSU'S POV

"You know It's a good thing I can multitask" Ugin spoke up as we rapidly approached the city, with his magic flowing around us slayers on his back. After a few seconds his magic settled and there was a flash of light that burst out of my chest, along side one from both Wendy and Gajeel as well. The lights quickly grew and morphed into shapes that were very familiar to us.

"There is no time to talk right now, Someone caused a Dragon Kings Festival!" Ugin harshly spoke as the dragons began to grumble about being pulled out of us. Thankfully they understood what Ugin was talking about and sped ahead of us to deal with the situation.

"Figures they leave the old man to explain to the children… Listen closely young ones. The Dragon Kings Festival is a horrific thing for it means someone used an extreme amount of magic to open a gateway between this time and centuries ago when most dragons saw humans as insects or food allowing them to pour forth and wreak havoc. The reason we call these instances as such is because the first one happened due to Acnologia the self proclaimed Dragon King, and one of the most hateful beings in existence."

"So how do we stop it?"

"Well, there are two ways to go about it. The first way is to find the one who is powering the gateway, and either knock them unconscious or kill them, which instantly forces all the dragons back through the portal and shuts it. The second way is to shut the gate first, and prevent more dragons from coming through while you hunt for the person powering the portal. Between the two the better option in our case is the second one, as it cannot be reopened without recasting whatever spell the person used."

"So unless they have enough magic to cast it again right away, it's the safer method because we'd be dealing with less dragons due to the gate being shut preventing more from interrupting us."

"Correct."

"Look they got the gate shut already!"

"Yes, and we're close enough now that I can properly scent out the dragons that made it through" Ugin spoke before giving us a rundown of the our enemies.

"Natsu! Wendy!"

Our heads turned to look to a rooftop on our right as we heard Erza call for us. Quickly thinking it over I jumped off of Ugin's back with Wendy in my arms. I handed her over to Erza as I told the two that even with the training Wendy's been putting in I'd feel better if she had back up in the form of Erza since Blazing Talon is considered a dragon slaying sword. Pushing them off towards the dragon I felt was the weakest I told them that if they couldn't defeat a dragon just stall it. As I made my way back to Ugin he stiffened in shock for a moment, before narrowing his eyes.

"You two have to go find your opponents without me." Ugin spoke without looking away from whoever it was that caught his eye. Following his gaze I saw a massive dragon with a pair of curve horns that reminded me of a bull. Between the horns however was a floating golden gem in the shape of an egg. Said dragon was in the middle of a chant but I couldn't quite hear enough of it to know what spell was being cast.

"That's Nicol Bolas!"

"I know… He and I have clashed in the past. While that fight did not end in my favor I don't intend for that to happen this time" Ugin solemnly told us as he purposefully flared his magic before charging forward.

"Alright then… We'll split up here. Don't lose"

"I should be saying that to you Salamander"

Nodding once to each other Gajeel and I sped off in opposite directions, thankfully putting a large distance between ourselves and Ugin's battle with Nicol Bolas. After all a fight between two ancient King class dragons is extremely dangerous and bound to destroy a lot of the surrounding area.

Continuing on I moved towards the closest dragon I could find, and doubled my speed when I felt Laxus's magic start dropping. I arrived just in time to block a flame coated talon aimed to pierce his heart. Taking stock of the situation I learned that Laxus had expended most of his magic and was just about to pass out from over doing it. His dragon opponent however was largely fine at first glance. The more I looked however the easier I noticed it.

Laxus had managed to pierce numerous spots just deep enough for his lighting to run rampant on the dragons nerves, strong enough to cause pain when moving but not enough to overload them to the point of preventing movement. Without looking away from the dragon I told Laxus he earned his rest and that I'd take it from here. Smirking at the dragon I noticed how weak it appeared and I recalled a conversation with Igneel.

FLASHBACK START

"Originally I taught you more forms of Dragon Magic because I felt you needed a harsher curriculum due to the fact you were pretty stupid when you were young. But after I saw how much talent you had with the three forms of Fire Dragon Magic I taught you, I knew my mate Sedementaria would have begged for the opportunity to pass on her magic and so I taught you hers too… But had I known then what I know now I'd have petitioned the elders for permission to allow you to go through dragonification and become a full blooded dragon."

"Why don't you do that anyway?"

"Because the elders recently decided to forbid it due to what happened with Acnologia…. Do you know why I would have done so though?"

"Does it have to do with the really sharp black glass I can make?"

"That black glass as you call it is actually a type of rock called obsidian. But yes it does. Your birth magic was Glass Make magic, as I've come to learn. But because of teaching you both Fire and Earth Dragon Magic, you're magic core has adapted and now instead of regular glass you can make things with Obsidian."

"But why? What is so special about obsidian?"

"Well obsidian is formed because of a type of lava called felsic lava cooling down rapidly with minimal crystal growth after a volcanic eruption. In other works your magic itself adapted to be a fusion of the two elemental type magics you've learned. Not only that but the obsidian you are capable of making has a different structure than normal and is much stronger and far less brittle. In fact because of how much it's adapted you could actually use it as your own unique Dragon Slayer Magic since the obsidian you create is strong enough to slice through even my scales."

FLASHBACK END

The dragon didn't like my smirk and tried to spit a fireball at me. Sighing I opened my mouth and swallowed the flames, enjoying the pissed off look on the dragon's face.

"Since you're capable of eating my flames I assume you're a Fire Dragon Slayer… That means neither one of us can use our magic since we'll just eat it."

"If that's the case would you mind surrendering so we don't have to fight?"

"Hell no! Why should I let an ant like you live? Sure you can eat my magic but that doesn't mean squat if I can physically overpower you and crush you that way!"

"If that's the case then I'll apologize in advance for killing you" I told the dragon as my magic flared around me in in a quadruple colored pillar before it all darkened to black. Since it was my natural magic it came to me just as easily as breathing, which meant I had no problems using it.

Holding up a hand in front of me purposefully showing my fingers, I let my magic transform my finger nails into obsidian, before they grew out forming 5 inch long talons. Not giving the dragon a chance to blink I dashed forward and slashed my hand across it's belly shredding the scales to bits.

"Shit that hurts! What the hell did you do?!"

"My father Igneel taught me not only Fire Dragon Magic, but Earth Dragon Magic as well. Apparently my natural Glass Make adapted itself to become Obsidian Dragon Magic as a fusion of the two."

"WAIT! YOU'RE THE SON OF IGNEEL?"

"Yes."

"That means even without your so called Obsidian Dragon Magic you'd be capable of beating me… I surrender. But you only have enough magic for one more fight at most so allow me to do give you a boost."

"Hold on a minute Infernatus."

"Igneel! Atlas Flame! What are you two doing here?"

"I talked Atlas Flame into helping me suppress all the dragons that made it through. But once we heard what you were going to do we decided to step in."

"Infernatus, you may be strong but even with your strength the boy would only be able to stop 3 dragons not including yourself. After all the two of us are the only Fire Dragon's to come through so he'd have no way to resupply. If you are set on doing this, then allow me to join you. At least then he'll have the magic power needed."

At this point I was confused as to what was going on, but chose to ignore the two in favor of attempting to talk to Igneel. But he only made eye contact long enough for me to realize he didn't want to waste time talking until the situation had been dealt with. By that point Atlas Flame and Infernatus were done speaking and motioned for me to be ready to eat their strongest attacks. I moved to stand in front of them and opened my mouth, swallowing the flames.

I felt my magic container forcefully expand to an unfathomably large size as I ate the excessively large amount of magic the two threw my way. It took a good and solid fifteen minutes before their attacks stopped and I could close my mouth again. It was at that point I noticed that neither one of them were moving, which shouldn't have been possible for Atlas Flame at least since his entire body was made of flames. But as I finished that thought the two started to crumble into ashes. As the ashes fluttered away in the wind I fell to my knees as tears welled up in my eyes.

"Natsu, don't feel sad for them yet. Instead take the power they honored you with and make them proud. Once this battle is over with you can break down and cry for their sacrifice."

Knowing Igneel was right I closed my eyes and force the few tears that had already formed to fall as I calmed myself. The moment I felt calm enough to continue on I stood back up. Letting my magic run wild I willingly activated Dragon Force for the second since Igneel taught me to control it.

"We can't play around right now. The only question I have is should I have mercy or no?"

"Cause a serious injury then back off and let them surrender. If they do not surrender then grant them mercy by ending it quickly."

Nodding at Igneel's words I picked Laxus up off the ground and took off sprinting towards Erza and Wendy. Their battle was the closest and while I was sure they could get the win, I knew they'd be too tired to move afterwords. Approaching rapidly I paused in front of them long enough to hand Laxus over to Erza before jumping forward with my newly created move Obsidian Dragon's Claws slashing the dragon across it's right eye.

"We still have to find the person that opened the gate and there's far too many dragons here to do that quickly. I don't have the time for a long drawn out battle so I say this. Surrender, or the only mercy I'll show is ending your life quickly."

"I'll surrender, on the condition the ones I was defending myself stay here as well. Since you're obviously a dragon slayer you know we won't harm children or their mother unless it's in self defense. I was only fighting defensively, but I'm the only dragon that came through that gateway that would hesitate to kill anything that attacked me."

"That's fine with me, especially since they won't be able to fight against anything at this point" I responded looking at Erza and Wendy, noticing just how tired they looked. Telling Wendy I was proud of her I told Erza they weren't allowed to push themselves any further. After all Wendy was still too young to be able to use her entire magic container, and Erza had emptied most of hers protecting them.

After making sure that they were alright, I nodded once to the dragon that had surrendered and took off for the next dragon. Repeating my previous actions I managed to make this dragon surrender as well before taking off once more. I actually ran into four dragons counting the one Erza and Wendy were currently sitting with and had them surrender before finding one that didn't.

This one was fast enough to block my Obsidian Dragon's Claw, but using my momentum I flipped around the talons that blocked me, lashing out with a Fire Dragon's Roar on the fist that had been in front of me. While the dragon recoiled from the flames I took a deep breath and aimed at it's chest before unleashing my Obsidian Dragon's Roar only to pale a bit when I saw how easily it shredded the distracted dragons body.

"I was not expecting it to be that powerful and for that I am sorry. I should offer you the chance to surrender but given the fact I just fatally wounded you I'll grant you the mercy of a quick death."

I spoke before crossing my arms in an x and slashing them to create my Obsidian Dragon's Wing Attack which was really just two long blades of obsidian that ran down the side of my arm and extended out another 15 feet and sliced the poor things neck.

Sighing I made a mental note to use as small an amount of magic as possible for my Obsidian Dragon attacks as they were very, very dangerous. Shaking my head I moved to continue confronting dragons and rescuing people when I could. Eventually three hours had passed and the only people on our side still capable of fighting were myself, Igneel, Metalicana, and Ugin who was still battling Nicol Bolas who I had discovered was the one to cause the Dragon Kings Festival. Luckily for us Nicol Bolas was the only opponent left.

"I'm surprised your runt is still standing. He has to have used an ungodly large amount of magic compared to normal."

"Uh, yes and no. Yes in the fact I haven't really been holding back, but also no because most of the dragons I found surrendered after I cut them."

"Igneel what the hell is your punk of a kid talking about with cutting?"

Igneel and I sighed in unison, before he explained for me after I lowered my head and groaned about having to explain it again.

"Well shit. Kid you are one scary person now. Though I can't help but wonder how well your obsidian would work against metal dragons like myself."

"Not important right now. It looks like they're both getting tired. Should we make a move to end it now?"

"You want to get in between two King class dragons that are so old and powerful there's been talk about putting them into their own class, while they're fighting? Not only are you scary, you're bat shit insane!"

"No need to be rude! Besides, if Nicol Bolas is tired enough I bet Igneel and I could take him."

"I wish I shared your enthusiasm Natsu, but even as tired as he is Nicol Bolas could decimate me."

"So making it a numbers game at this point won't work?"

"Nope. A numbers game wouldn't work on either one of them unless they were already fatally injured and had no magic left. Even then you wouldn't win without 10 to 1 odds at the very least unless pinned down unable to move"

As Igneel spoke Ugin and Nicol Bolas clashed once more this time without any magic at all. If it weren't for the fact Igneel basically just told me that if Ugin looses we were screwed I'd have laughed at the site. The two were slowly becoming a tangled mass of limbs, and biting at each other as they tossed each other around. After a few minutes they managed to tumble close enough to us, that I was worried we might have to move again.

"Just give up already you fucking asshole!"

"Hell no you prick!"

"Fucking die already!"

"I'm not loosing to you again!"

At this point I couldn't help myself and burst out laughing. It was so suddenly that they actually stopped fighting to look at me as I fell off the build I was standing on. Without stopping my laugh I managed to safely land. At this point everyone that was close enough to hear my laugh was looking at me as if I'd grown a second head since it managed to interrupt the brawling dragons.

By the time I'd calmed down and stopped chuckling, Nicol Bolas was looking pissed off and lunged at me. Ugin took the opportunity to pin him down with Igneel and Metalicana jumping on, effectively preventing him from moving. Smirking at the ridiculously old dragon I powered up into Dragon Force once more and created my obsidian claws once more. Strutting forward I delicately scrapped my claws on his cheek and watched as his eyes went wide at how easily I cut through his scales.

"Would you rather live and be sent back to whatever time you created the gateway from, or be killed?"

My smirk turned to an evil grin as I made sure my obsidian claws glinted in the light to show off just how sharp they were.

After a moment Nicol Bolas sighed, said we had bested him and chose to be sent back. Nodding at his agreement to being knocked out my grin went ear to ear and my bangs created shadows around my eyes which had started glowing eerily making me seem slightly bloodthirsty.

"I will knock you out, but I promise it'll be painful since I'm fairly certain my adoptive daughter heard your cursing"

Jumping up into the air I put my hands together and raised them above my head, slowly tilting forward letting my gravity pull me down in such a way that my downward momentum added more power to the devastating blow I was preparing. Letting my magic create stones to cover my arms, I cast my spell Earth Dragon's Secret Art Sturdy Ground: Stone Hammer and rocketed down slamming my fists into his head.

I was suspended for a moment before rebounding off of his head from the recoil. Watching in satisfaction as Nicol Bolas flinched for a moment before shutting his eyes and slumping forward. Luckily I pulled back just enough as I saw he was still breathing for a moment at least. Then he and every dragon that had come through the portal he created started sparkling as they slowly faded from existence.

"Nice job son"

"I suppose you did good runt"

"Excellent work young one. Also I agree with you on his cursing"

"Speaking of cursing" I said with a Cheshire grin as I looked towards Ugin and Metalicana, causing them both to gulp in fear as Igneel giggled at their misfortune.

Hours later everything had settled down with Ugin, Igneel, Metalicana, and Grandeeney shifting into human forms so as not to scare the people as we slayers gathered with them. We sat in a group; Wendy excitedly telling Grandeeney about how Erza and I adopted her and all of our adventures, Erza sitting on my lap as we shared stories with Igneel, Gajeel and Metalicana throwing insults at each other though after both Grandeeney and I got on them for cursing they were very tame insults. Everything felt right with the world, especially since my family felt whole again.

S.R: That's it. It's a wrap. We're done. Good night people. Hope you liked it, but please don't rant and rave about it ending. See you all in either in my other stories or the new one that will be up soon!
