She kept walking without rest or food. Although her body was tired from weeping, she was a lion. As a lion, she would sometimes not eat for days. It was her petty mindset from the humans that made her feel weak.

But… She was human. Perhaps her mind, heart, and soul was of a lion, her body was human. In her two days carrying her father's corpse, she realized she no longer had any reason to be a lion.

She had no father to impress, no father to care for. Up until now she lived for her father. Everything she did was for him.

The only thing she ever wanted was to meet humans, and a Pride. The pride was what killed her father, while the humans saved her. She even mated two of them.

What was the point living in the wild? She had no Pride, no family, and no father. Her brother was the one who killed her only parent, after all.

Her family was no more.

So she would have to make a new life.

She had two choices. She could live as a lone lion, or she could go with the humans.

She dropped her father to the ground, the flowers swaying around his body. If it wasn't for the rotten smell and the maggots she would have tried to convince herself he was sleeping.

But he was dead.

So she brought him to the one place she thought beautiful in their travels. A small oasis with a large lake, grass, trees, and even flowers. It was rare to see such greenery, let alone stay in such a place. Why didn't they stay here? It was on the edge of a Pride's territory. Her father always taught her to be careful, and always be on the move. That was the life of a lone lion after all.

But she didn't have to worry about that as a human, right?

She laid next to his body, her fingers curling into the soft greying fur of his pelt.

Once again tears welled in her eyes. The flowers danced around them unaware of her grief. "I love you." She buried her face into his fur, just like she did on so many other occasions.

Before he was warm, and his chest would rise and fall slowly. Now, it was cold, and he smelled of rotten flesh.

With him she would leave behind her lion body. She stripped her pelts and mane, placing them on his limp body. Her mane was her pride as a lion, without it she was no different than a human. The claws she would keep, after all it would remind her of what she was, and what she had given up. "Goodbye, Father." She kissed his head lightly, before forcing her body to stand up straight.

They searched for what felt like weeks, asking local tribesmen and scrounging for any signs. It had been at least a month since her disappearance, yet no luck. Not one clue of her surfaced anywhere.

That's why when they returned to stock up, they were surprised to find her sitting on the front steps in Sakura's clothes. Her plaid blouse was buttoned up properly, shorts on right. Most shocking of all was her body, her back was straight and shoulders square. She looked like a prideful lady.

There was almost no sign of the previous wild girl they had known.

"Welcome back, Itachi and Sasuke." Her pronunciation was almost perfect. She put on a smile that made his heart thump, and his cheeks heat. There was no doubt she was one of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen.

Sakura opened the door, motioning the girl in. The lion-girl nodded, going inside. Instantly he felt disappointed. After all, they did spend a month looking for her.

A useless month that is. He was trying to ignore the simmering anger.

Sakura had the slyest grin ever on her pale pink lips. "She's been back for weeks now. I've taught her well, hm?"

He did admit it; the girl was almost human now.

But it was alien.

They were out for weeks looking for their lioness, yet here was this human girl.

"I guess we have some adjusting to do." He looked to his brother who was the one to reply. Although he was good at hiding it, he could tell he also felt alienated.

"Hn."

"Our time here is almost up," Sakura said from the deck. They both looked to her. The pinkette grinned hugely. "I think it's time we introduced her to the world, boys." Sasuke tensed up. Itachi took a step closer to him, as if to hover.

His brother too, looked tense.

That was before the girl came bounding out of the house and tackled both of them to the ground. It was as if the walls could no longer hold her. From behind them they could hear Sakura make a noise of protest. But Hinata's voice blocked that out. "I love you." She mumbled to them, holding them tightly. Tightly enough to almost break them with her inhuman strength.

That's right.

This girl loved them, and they loved her. Both of them hugged her back, albeit it was rather awkward.

They would have to face this together. And grow together.

After all, they were mates.

"We love you too." His and Itachi's voices mingled together.

Zeelee-Vallen: I'm sorry, I suck at endings. Like, a lot.

NOTE: I was thinking of a sequel, just maybe. If I get enough interest that is. The idea for the sequel would be them going to Europe (maybe japan?), facing criticism and interest while she tried to adjust, while fighting with her wild instincts and trying to fit in to human society. And who knows, maybe she will even end up trying to go to school? Maybe meeting more people? Maybe… her long lost family will find her? You know, the Hyuuga princess… Just saying. If you're interested I'll have a poll up, a pm, or a comment of interest will do!
