Deadpool stood in an abandoned cemetery. He looked down at the tombstone in front of him.

"Sorry I'm late," he apologized. "I've just been busy killing evil versions of myself, fighting the undead, and getting married. The usual."

He stayed silent for a few seconds. "You know, it's funny, but I never thought I'd actually come here. Too many memories, I guess."

The Merc with a Mouth was wearing his red and black mask, as usual, but he was wearing the best suit he could afford. In his hands were some flowers. He sighed. "How long were we together?"

He stopped. "I'm not good with this whole 'emotion' thing, but believe me, I'm trying my best." He held up the flowers. "I even brought you these!" His face lit up with glee. "They cost me a literal fortune. Came all the way from Japan."

His smile slowly faded. He took off the mask, revealing his scarred face. Except, it was evident he was crying. He said, "I'm sorry I could save you. I tried. I tried so hard."

He place the flowers and the mask by the tombstone. "I might not be coming back. This place… it isn't safe for me to be here. Too many people want me dead here. But, if I'm ever in the neighborhood, you can guarantee that the first thing I'll do is come here."

He reached into a pocket. "I brought you these. Just in case, you know, you wanted them back." He pulled out a pair of sunglasses, and placed them besides his mask and the flowers. "I just wanted you to know that I… I love you, Al."

Deadpool, aka Wade Wilson, stood, tears poured down his face. He walked away, leaving behind the tombstone simply marked "Al."
