"I can't believe you'll be adopted so quickly." Elsa mumbled mid-bite.

"I can't either. But Tooth said, since I've been alone for so long, the judge decided to rush the case. We're just waiting for the my birth records." Jack grinned softly.

"I thought you were given those after - y'know - I'm mean, when…" Anna couldn't finish.

"The ones my mother was holding on to where forged. I don't know why. But they're not real."

"Dude, maybe your mother was secret agent, like FBI, CIA, WHD secret agent!" Flynn whispered excitedly.

"What is the WHD, Flynn?" Rapunzel stared at her boyfriend.

"I don't know. It's just three letters put together, right?" Hiccup shook his head pitifully in Flynn's direction.

" Oh. Well, we all know people with secret identities have mundane jobs." Flynn continued.

"She worked in Pitch Industries, that servitude… Listen I don't know why she forged the documents, okay? Let me go and ask her when I get home tonight. Oh, wait, I can't, so stop with the questions and the jokes." Jack lashed out. He stomped away from the table grabbing Elsa by the wrist. Elsa looked up at his platinum white hair, tinted gold by the ceiling lights. She wanted so much to hug him, kiss him even. But that would be ludicrous. She just ended a relationship two weeks ago, just befriended him and still needed to maintain her reputation as the Snow Queen. Why? She hardly knew. It was a source of stability for her as if not everything had transformed around her.

"Jack , let go." Elsa said coldly attempting to snatch her hand away. But Jack held on tightly, grabbing her other hand as well.

Jack

He searched her pale eyes for a sign of mercy. " Elsa, you're my friend, right?" Jack turned around.

"I mean yeah-"

"Tooth and I are going to the hospital a town over, where I was born, to get my documents released. I was wondering if you could come with. '

"Jack, I don't know about this. Isn't that more like a familial thing. I mean at least ask Hiccup or Flynn – no not Flynn he was being a jerk earlier. Um-"

Jack glanced down at Elsa as her face shifted into a soft frown. "Bzzzz. Bzzzz."

"One second, I'm sorry." Elsa mumbled as she glanced down at her phone.

Jack could just barely see the name "Pitch" before she dismissed the call.

"You haven't blocked him?" =He glared at the blonde.

"No."

"Elsa, he's dangerous. Especially for you. The less you have to do with him the better!" Jack's voice startled to escalate.

"Well, maybe I don't' want him completely out of my life!"

"He's crazy, Elsa!"

"He's misunderstood."

"He hurt you."

"He loved me!"

"That wasn't love."

"Manipulating you, hitting you, this, "Jack caressed Elsa's cheek , where a bruise had yet to fade. "Isn't love. What Anna is offering you, a shoulder to cry on, a sister to confide in, a hug when needed is love." Jack whispered, his nose almost touching hers.

"You're not family. So you shouldn't care. You're barely a friend."

"Oh God, don't do that. Elsa, don't push me away. I don't' need to be family to care about you and we both know we are friends."

"Tentatively."

"Elsa."

"I'll go to the hospital, alright? But I don't' understand why you didn't choose someone closer to go with."

"In case I don't see something good. I don't' want anyone else to see me like that."

"Jack they're your friends, maybe even brothers. They're supposed to see you at your worst."

"And yet you're the only one that has seen me cry. Don't worry. It's going to go smoothly. You don't understand how much this means to me." Jack hugged Elsa reassuringly. "But don't think we aren't continuing the other conversation later."

Jack smirked as he saw a little red flush over Elsa's cheeks when his breath caressed her ear. Comically she tripped a little, walking away from him. His smirk grew into a grin when her hair spun around her shoulders revealing her pink flushed face contrasting her wide cerulean eyes.

"She's warming up to everyone now, y'know." A whisper slipped into Jack's ear.

He jumped away from who he just realized was Tooth.

"Are you spying on me?"

"Am I not allowed? I want grandchildren in the future!" Tooth skipped down the hall, leaving Jack even more flushed.

.

"Please call me if you're going to be super late!" Anna glared at Elsa. "you never message and it worries me y'know!"

"And it steals from our date time." Kristoff muttered.

"Oh hush." Anna smacked the back of his head playfully before the couple walked off.

Jack and Elsa watched the school buses drive off. They were alone. Again. Hiccup and Merida were trying out a robot archery club. Flynn and Rapunzel were in detention. And Anna and Kristoff were having date night.

"Achoo!" Jack sneezed.

"You need to cover up more." Elsa stared at him apathetically.

"I would be covered up but someone stole my scarf." He smirked her way.

"That's right, and you're never getting it back." Elsa turned away from, clutching his impeccably white scarf to her neck.

The light hit her hair just right giving the fraying stands the appearance of a halo. Jack stumbled on his words. "Y-you're just going to leave me to suffer?'

"Of course not! You have mine." Elsa laughed.

"If you're going to give me a scarf in the first place, why not just give me mine?" Jack muttered turning red and he thought of the exchange. Only couple exchange clothes. And friends. Jack shook his head.

We could be a couple one day. Unless she chooses Pitch.

"Hey… you won't go back to Pitch, right?" Jack asked softly.

Elsa stared hard at Jack. Her eyebrows furrowed in deep thought. It was like she wanted to say something but she couldn't. "No."

"Hey kids! Get in before you get a cold!" Tooth yelled from her car as she pulled up to the curb.

Elsa watched Jack, focusing on the small protrusions on his back. Both shoulder blades dented his shirt, gliding smoothly underneath. She could sense his anxiety and fear.

He stopped in front of her at the door. "I could've and probably should've asked Flynn or Hiccup to come with me. But I just have a bad feeling about this. Like I'm about to see something I wasn't supposed to. "

"My boy, you are supposed to grow up in a family that cares about you, not alone pretending everything is okay. You're right, your friends will be upset to hear you brought Elsa, but you can make it up to them by being more genuine and transparent with them. But you can't do that before you find out more about your birth certificate." Mr. North patted Jack on the back. Tooth reached for his hand and squeezed it. Elsa blushed in embarrassment of her uselessness.

She gave Jack an encouraging wink, "We'll be right here waiting."

Elsa's eyes started to flutter uncontrollably to remain awake. She glanced at her phone. It'd been a hour since Jack went into the room. North and Tooth were already contemplating going inside to check on him.

Just as they both stood, the door opened and Jack walked out.

"Hey Sweet stuff! How was it? The judge said we could head over right after you pick up the certificate."

"That'd be great." Jack's voice was monotone, empty.

"A-awesome," Elsa forced a worried smile, "let's get going"

"You can't come." Jack stared right into her soul. The hatred in them was piercing, triggering. It looked like how her father looked at her.

"What are you talking about? I mean if you think it should just be for family, I get that." Elsa shrunk a little in on herself.

"No. It's for family and friends. That's why I invited everyone else except for you."

"I don't' understand. I thought we were- "

"Jack, my boy, what's the issue here? What's going on?" North moved toward Jack

"The issue is that Elsa is a liar. She's a manipulator. You just like to seduce boys and play this little game where you get chased while the entire time you're in cohorts with Pitch."

"Jack-"

"No! I'll be honest. I was willing to chase you around. I don't mind playing that game with you. But this is too far. You- you're such a bitch, you know that? The way you hide shit from everyone! Well you know what fuck you!"

"Jack, don't you dare talk to her like that! She did nothing wrong!" Tooth said in a warning tone.

"Don't' you tell me what to do. You're not my mother! My mother killed herself hiding from Peter fucking Black, my father!" Jack threw the certificate at Tooth and ran away.

Elsa grabbed the paper quickly from the ground.
