Three months after Finn began planning.

"Are you sure to go through with this?" "Yes..." Finn answered to the man that stood in front of him. "To bear the burden of those who came before you is a noble purpose, however it is the least appealing." Finn, knowing fully well what's ahead broke down and fell on his back, dropping his serious mask. "Just remember your goal and you won't fail." A feminine voice rang inside the room, it was Samantha, along with Alesse. The time they spent with the human was the most peculiar period of their existence, when they first worked together, in the battlefield of Ooo, they were impressed by his prowess in fighting.

Though every end of fights he breaks down and relented what he did, always he stayed burying all the dead, comrades or enemies. At one point the two even helped him just in pity as he took literally a good chunk of the day just halfway through his bizarre activity, that was when the heavens opened up and in a blink of an eye the three of them was in front of the man who Finn is currently speaking to. "Let's go, it's time to bring peace back to the kingdoms." Finn commanded, the two nodded and began walking.

With everything happening so fast, Finn only had one thought in his mind. 'How do I deal with Marceline, especially now-' "My heir is finally back!" Hunson shouted with much delight, he is very elated with Finn since a few weeks ago he volunteered to handle the nightosphere for a while. "I expect you take good care of my amulet?" "Yes, I do." Finn held the vile artifact showing it's state which made Hunson relax even more. "So when will we begin the next step of your glorious plan?" "Actually it has already started." Finn answered and pointed at a display.

In it was a squadron of demon's ready for a fight, Hunson was impressed with the setup since he himself had problems in the past keeping his soldiers in line. However with Finn, he made it seem like child's play. "I'm telling you my Finn, you're a perfect fit for my vacant seat!" Hunson exclaimed which made the two women with them roll their eyes. During the past months they observed how Finn operates and knowing hunson, he probably has something up his sleeve for him in the end. "No offense Finn, but you need to give that man his amulet back."

"I will." Finn said with a stoic face, he was focused on the first, and most dangerous squad he ever released on his beloved place. "Pshh, you two are just salty, you had your powers locked away!" Samantha lets out a loud sigh while Alesse gave him a hard glare which was effective in making Hunson shrink away. "So after this will the two sides work together?" Samantha asked, trying to diffuse the tension. "If the circumstances will go as I predicted the chances of a new alliance will be almost certain." Finn answered, earning a nod from everyone in the room.

Third Person View

"Scouting sucks, I want a real fight!" A soldier expressed as he tossed his gun on the ground. "Hey, pick that up will you? The commander will scold you for messing with your equipment!" A fire soldier who was with the scouting squad shot back at the candy volunteer. "You know how delicate the situation is, the fighting has died down a bit but the last few months one of the scouting reveals a tower being constructed at the heart of the enemy's base." The group grew silent; rumors have been circulating about an ultimate weapon unearthed by the rock kingdom.

"Drop the discussion we-" The squad leader stopped himself when he saw an enemy scouting squad in front of them. Both squad leaders of the opposing sides cursed under their breaths for their twisted luck. "What do we do?" The candy soldier whispered to his leader. "We need to avoid direct confrontation." The candy-fire squad was about to back away when they noticed the enemy drawing their swords and firearms, the enemy wasn't looking at the retreating soldiers though. Behind the two squads were groups of demons. The two knew at that instant that they are screwed unless together...

As the two leaders nodded at each other a dark sword was drove to the ground in front of them and when they look towards where it came from they saw a person covered in darkness contrasting the moonlight, the only distinct feature the man had was his heterochromatic eyes of red and blue. "Leave the two, kill the rest." The demons locked on to their prey and made quick work of the squads. Finn watched somberly as the demon's at his command tear apart the soldiers, one recognized him and before he could speak his name Finn killed him.

"Not yet." He whispered. He pulls back to the air as the massacre was finished leaving a lone fire elemental and rock soldier in his presence. "WHY!?" The rock soldier asked with agony. His comrades were cut down right before his eyes. "Run along, I want you to tell your superiors about what happened here." The rock person gritted his teeth and ran for his life while cursing himself. "Survivor's guilt." The Flame elemental said. "I expect you to put a good act." "Yes Sir Finn." The elemental responded while kneeling before Finn. "Take the bodies, Bubblegum will deal with them."

The demons carried the corpses through a portal Finn opened. The fire elemental retreated back to the kingdom after receiving his orders and 'evidences', Althea arrives fuming with anger. "Do they really need to be brutalized like that? Finn you need to reconsider your plans." "No, you don't get it. This Ooo is not the peaceful one you came from, there's no resolution unless I take it upon my hands." Althea looked down, defeated, she knew what he said was true, but she cannot accept it. "What if you can't stop? What if the darkness consumes you completely?" "Bring someone from the other side." Finn replied.

Meanwhile at the Candy Kingdom...

Everybody was restless, the scouting squad they sent out hasn't arrive from their mission. This can only mean that the Rock Kingdom has made their move in neutral soil, who knows how far have they advanced. General Andrew, Phoebe's brother is gathering all the soldiers he can to prepare for the worst. "Where is my sister, she needs to manage the facility." "She's in bed, resting, besides, you are the head of the forces since she was removed six months ago." Peppermint answered, which earned him a growl from the flaming general."What about Finn, Has he been found yet?"

"No, not since he infiltrated the Rock Kingdom last month. I can't believe..." Marceline trailed her answer, but couldn't continue as she felt so lost. She went on an espionage mission with Finn last month, the whole operation went haywire and Finn bought her time to escape leaving him alone to fend for himself. "I shouldn't have left him!" She yelled as she smashed her hand at the war table giving it a few cracks. A few seconds after she calmed down a transmission was received from the fire elemental. "Alone... all dead... help..." The gates were opened to take the lone scout in.

"Give the man space, take him to the infirmary quick!" Andrew commanded. The fire elemental was rushed to the doctor. "Leave us for a while, I need to check on him alone." "He was telling us something, we need his report." The scout gave them the evidence of the massacre. The doctor looked at them and the soldiers all backed away. As soon as all the people went out the doctor and the elemental dropped their act. "Glob you could just have ran inside you know!?" "Sorry I was tired, the mission was a success." "Good, it's monarchy's turn now." The doctor said.

Back inside the war room, Marceline excused herself and went straight to the princess' balcony. She went inside the chamber and she saw Phoebe sleeping, she had tears and was speaking Finn's name in her sleep. "The law isn't as absolute as it seems." Marceline thought to herself, she felt sad for her. as a matter of fact, right now, anywhere she goes it was depressing. "I gotta get out of here, I wonder what Simon is up to? He better not be harboring any princesses, especially enemies." With that she left the Candy kingdom and headed straight to the Ice king's lair.

Ice king was killing time with the penguins of his kingdom, even though the creatures inconvenience him he still tries to socialize with them, "Hey Simon!" He nearly jumped as he heard Marceline arriving, then he remembered Finn's reminder about her. "She can't know what's happening." "Hey Marceline what are you doing here?" he asked nervously. "Oh nothing just wanted to cool my head on the ice." "Well I uh..." "What was that?" She asked. "Nah nothing, I just remembered I need to write another fanfiction." "Can I join in?" "NO!" He shouted, to her he's acting weird but then again he always is. So she let it slide.

A few Hours later

"That's weird." Marceline said to herself while playing in the snow, the cool environment calmed her down, but it made her think harder. "Simon quitted writing, right after the incident with Bella noche." She squinted her eyes, she knew something was up and proceeded to go and bust Simon. Maybe it was the boredom, Finn was gone for a month now. She was scared at first, but the worries went away when he sent letters. She held her stomach lightly as she ascended towards the Ice tower, when suddenly she felt a pulse, it was motion sensors. "Something is clearly wrong."

She rushed faster, holding a serious expression. Just as expected, Simon came holding an ice blast. He saw Marceline and retracted it back, "Hey... You, what are you doing here?" he asked nervously. Ice king was at his feet, Marceline was being persistent. "You're sweating Simon." Marceline stated. "No, hahaha... Silly girl, you should go now." Ice kin was slipping away and that's when a familiar voice rung across the room. "Is anyone there!?" the voice asked, Marceline was shocked. It was Betty, she went missing the same time Finn went missing too. "Show me your prison." She demanded.

"NO!" Ice King raised his hands, his magic powers ready to strike her down. Marceline growled as her eyes went red with bloodlust, "You can't go in here, I FORBID!" Ice king shouted firing his first wave of ice to drive Marceline off. She saw it coming miles away, simply jumping out of harm's way and suddenly tacking Simon towards the other chamber, inside there was Betty, captive in ice she looked fine though. But her distraction was all the ice king needed he kicked her off making her slam into the bars, Betty shuffled towards her, one of her hands travelled to Marceline's midsection.

Betty's eyes grew wide open, Marceline regained her senses and asked what's wrong. Meanwhile the Ice king was ready to freeze Marceline in place, suddenly Betty shouted. "NO don't do it, you'll kill the child!" He ignored her pleas but then his head had a sharp pain, making him stop a clutch his head. Marceline picked herself up and knocked him unconscious. She went back to betty with a confused look in her face. "Listen we need to go and have you checked, to know how long you've been carrying it." "But... Finn, I don't know where he is right now. He needs to..."

"You need to leave the battlefield, if Finn knew about this he'll be with you as fast as he can." Marceline nodded, she busts Betty out and the two began walking away. As the passed through Ice king's unconscious body he muttered, "Ple... n't... rt...her..." Betty tried to make sense of what he meant, or if it had any meaning at all. In spite of all the confusion, only one thing comes into her mind... the meeting. She felt guilty to having known where Finn is but keeping it from Marceline. "I won't..." She mumbled as they go out, leaving Simon alone in his castle.

Jake POV

When Finn went away, I dropped my armor and I began searching for him, it was normal for Finn to disappear for moments, but this one was different. Marceline approached me personally, I didn't know what the fuss was about, she herself had disappearances back in the day, so I thought she was overreacting. That's when she dropped the bomb on me, she was pregnant... I stepped down from the fights and Flame Princess granted it. I searched for my brother for the next two months, and when I found him another bomb was dropped on me. I'm now a Co-conspirator in an operation to make all of Ooo bow to its knees.

"JAKE!" I was snapped out of my thoughts, with a heavy heart I went back to the army, I had to keep Finn's whereabouts secret. The only good thing that happened so far is that I wasn't questioned, but to be sure I have with me a letter written by Finn, an alibi at best. "Never tell Marceline anything you saw here Jake." Finn left me with that, at first I was reluctant, but even here dad who was there had a somber face. "So where is Finn?" Betty asked. "He's away, he didn't want to talk about it either so I left him."

"Enough with the inquiries." Flame Princess declared, I let out a low sigh. "The recent report of a new enemy is alarming." She continued. "So alarming that the enemy kingdoms had relayed a message, which I'm about to show you now." A display lit up and in it was the new king of Rock kingdom. "Time is of the essence so I will get straight to the point. I propose a truce, with the report given to me by the sole survivor of my most elite scouting squads, you too had experience this new enemy fight. We need to unite for the greater good of Ooo."

"In light of these events, I want to know, what are your opinions?" "I say we go along with this charade, long enough to catch them off guard!" Andrew, Flame Princess' brother, harshly suggested. I wanted to speak up but the Princess got to it first. "NO! I gave you and your 'friends' free reign of the army, this is political matters and should be dealt diplomatically." The flame general grunted but she ignored it. "I have plans for this possibility. I, along with our allied royalties will meet with the others, in order to discuss a counter measure for this new threat."

All of the elders, political figures and royals nodded in this proposition and with that a security detail needs to be made. "Jake, you will lead a medium sized squad who will escort us, meanwhile, Huntress wizard along with Nico and Maxwell will be our close security detail." I bowed and went outside to select a suitable squad to take with me. By the end of the day I managed to create a mix of squad, A good number of flame soldiers, an equal number of candy soldiers, a few goblins and lumpy people to complement the entirety of the squadron.

Finn POV

"Your plan is working faster than expected." Alesse pointed out, she was right. The people are currently scrambling to create a panel to end the war. "Slow down the preparations Finn, we have an ample number of soldiers at your command. With the gauntlet our supplies can last up to ten months of continuous consumption." Samantha added. I looked at Hunson for advice but he only shrugged, damn he's almost useless. "Alright, tell everyone of the development, but I expect my new gear to be done." Alesse nodded and went on her way. I wanted to believe in it, but deep inside I knew better.

"I'll take a rest for today." Hunson declared. "Great." Samantha said with a puff. "You should rest too." I told her. "For what? I'm a guardian remember?" "Right, join me then." I glanced at her and there she was, blushing like a normal person. "J-join you where?" As much as it amuses me, one other Marceline is enough for me. "To watch this event unfold, what else?" She glared at me and shouted. "I KNOW!" I calmed her down and we sat in front of the display. "So, this is a bit anti-climactic, isn't it?" she asked me. "Yeah, this is better though."

The hours passed and the two opposing forces are heading towards neutral ground to reconcile. Soon after the royalties of Ooo moved out, Alesse joined us. "Is it starting?" "It is, the two small armies are standing side by side, the monarchs are currently discussing." I stood up, watching as the scenes unfold. The paper was signed by both parties and they all went outside to make the announcement. "Ooo is once again united!" Flame princess declared. "That's too fast." Samantha said, I have a hint as to what she was pertaining to, and the next events shocked all of us.

The new rock king signaled his troops and they began killing the unsuspecting forces lead by Jake. The sound of screams and pain drowned us, Alesse was the first to act and she ran to gather our forces that are ready. "Prepare my new armor." I told Samantha; although she was shocked she got my order and went on her way. "I need more time." So I took the gauntlet from its container and I activated Tia's power. The motions in Ooo stopped which gives me ample time to prepare. As I observed the scenes I noticed something surprising.

"Hell, not even Flame Princess will let this pass." "What is it?" I was rattled to my core, it was Hunson on his business suit. "Her brother tried to have her assassinated; he might have a hand in this incident." A few minutes later Samantha came back to the room with a group handling my armor. "Forge in the Nightosphere, with dark magic and demonic metal." It was Ironic really how radiant the armor was, it was a shining armor with golden engravings imbued with cloaking magic. I slipped it on and moments after I went out of the room towards the open field where my army awaits.

Finn's schedule just got bumped up and so is mine, how will he handle the situation, will the betrayal affect him to much, especially with many of his loved ones in it. Does he know how Marceline is or will he learn about it when it's too late...

I'll stop here. For now, hello tresse here. Been a while(big understatement). Typical uni stuff though nothing new, still struggling. Apologies with the Super delay and I'm really glad I got this out, Thank you for reading this and I intend to finish this story. I don't know what else to say, a part from being busy I was in a block with this particular chapter, but I got out of it and I'll now create a rough draft of the next chapter.
