She loved her job, so it was no surprise that when it was taken from her she was devastated. But she would never admit that to Sami, she still couldn't believe that her own cousin would do something like this to her. Sure she was to blame for the affair and she took full responsibility for that. She had been stupid and regretted the whole thing more than she could say.

She wished it had never happened, she was still a little unclear how it had; after all she hated EJ. But she also knew she couldn't take it back now, she just wanted to get on with her life. Leaving her Aunts office she headed to TBD to see the only person she wanted to confide in at a time like this. She hadn't even known Ben that long but she felt like she could tell him anything. But she also knew that this was a lot of drama for a new relationship, or whatever it was they were to each other.

Stepping inside the cafe, she spotted Ben wiping down the counter. She quickly wiped the tears from her face and taking a deep breath walked over to him. "Hey," he said as she sat down at the counter in front of him. He noticed the redness of her face and knew that she had been crying, "Are you ok?"

"No." She said glancing down at the counter and willing herself not to cry. He came around the counter and sat down on the stool next to her, wrapping his arm around her. "Come on you can tell me."

"I lost my job."

"What? Why?"

"Sami, she got me fired. Well threatened that if I didn't resign she would tell the board about the affair."

"Wait so she blackmailed you?"

"Maybe I deserve this."

"No, Abigail you don't. Look you made a mistake but that doesn't mean you have to keep paying for it. You already regret that it happened and you feel bad enough. "

"I do, I wish it never happened." She said swiping the tears off her cheek. "Ben, look I know this is a lot to deal with and Sami will probably never let me forget it. So I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to walk away. I really like you and I wanted to see where..." She stammered on before he stopped her with a kiss.

"I'm not going anywhere." He told her when they pulled apart.

She smiled up at him glad that he cared enough about her to see where this relationship could go. Not many guys would put up with the drama that had recently entered her life.

That weekend Abby was seated on the couch trying to focus on a movie when she got a text message from Ben.

You up for a beach day? -Ben

Sounds great -A

She smiled as she typed her reply and then raced upstairs to get ready.

Pick you up in an hour?- Ben

See you then :) -A

Abby climbed into Ben's car an hour later, "Good morning." She said smiling over at him as she smoothed out her sundress.

"Morning to you too. You look beautiful by the way."

"Thank you." She said reaching out to touch his shoulder. "So are we going to the Big Beach or the Little Beach?" She asked as they pulled down the driveway.

"There's two beaches?"

"Yeah Big Beach is the one on the other side of town and like the name states it's the bigger of the two. Usually it's packed because it also has an ice cream shop and snack shack right on the beach."

"And the other one?"

"Little Beach is closer to the town square and usually pretty empty."

"Well how about we go there then?" Ben said as he headed that way. He just wanted to spend time with Abigail without interruption, for once.
