Ch.101: Christmas Day
Bruce leaned back, enjoying the peace of the morning. Alfred seemed to be enjoying it as well. As far as they knew, Danny was still passed out in his bed with Ace and Cujo somewhere in the room too.
"I think this is the first time I've ever had a kid and they didn't wake me up at four in the morning on Christmas." Bruce commented, taking a sip from his coffee mug.
"No, no, it is the first time." Alfred stated, making Bruce snort in amusement.
"HI!"
Bruce and Alfred both screamed while Danny, hanging upside down from the rafters, gave an almost crazed smile at them. The two adults calmed and glared at the grinning child.
"Where have you been?" The ebony-haired adult questioned.
"In the ceiling~! With a baseball bat~!" Danny sung, grabbing a bat and swinging it around. The two adults had to duck to avoid being smacked around by it. Bruce chuckled nervously and carefully slipped it from Danny's fingers.
"What time did you get up?" Alfred asked.
"I woke up at 52:1!" Danny said excitedly.
"You mean 1:52?" Bruce asked dryly. The nine-year-old nodded.
The two older males shook their heads at the hanging Ghost Boy.
"Think he's still jacked up on alcohol?"
"Oh, I know he is."
The six Bat-Kids (Barbara was spending the day with her father) all plopped down on a couch or chair around the room. All of them looked like they had just gotten out of bed, which was mostly true. They were even wearing pajamas.
"Where's the little Satan spawn?" Jason asked.
"The one you made drunk?" Stephanie asked.
"Yes, that one. What other Satan spawn is there?"
"Todd, that is so offensive." Damian commented.
"Oh yeah, you! I forgot!" Jason said, cackling under his breath. Cassie sighed, rubbing her face.
Bruce walked in and fell into his seat. "Danny's somewhere. He's still a little loopy and stole a baseball bat."
"Outstanding." Tim said, clapping sarcastically.
"Yeah." Bruce said simply before tossing a nicely wrapped box to Dick. The oldest easily caught it and made a move to unwrap it when-
POP!
"HI!"
Everyone screamed, except Bruce, and Dick flew over and behind the couch in fright. Danny looked around at everyone, still grinning weirdly. The top of the box was balanced perfectly on his head and he was still in it.
Dick, breathing heavily, popped up from behind the couch and held onto the back. Danny cackled at his face, easily sliding into the depths of his box. The lid closed again and muffled laughter escaped the confides of the box.
The oldest Bat-Kid tapped it and the box tipped over the side of the couch. The lid, once again, fell off and Danny half-sprawled out of it, still laughing.
Bruce smirked as he leaned back. "That was a great prank."
He and Danny did a little high-five.
As everyone enjoyed what they got that Christmas, Alfred sighed as he entered the mess again, holding a purple and green wrapped box. He set it in front of Danny, who was playing with Batsy and his new plushy, Alonzo the Christmas Tree.
"Another villain sent you a present?" Dami asked, shaking his head.
"Yep! It's the Joker this time!" Danny said.
"HIT THE DECK!"
Most of the Bats hid behind the couches or one of their siblings (or in Bruce's case, his kid). Danny threw off the lid and gasped in pleasant surprise.
"It's a baby hyena~!"
"What?!" Tim yelled before fainting.
The, as told, living baby hyena yapped and wagged his tail. Danny hugged it, star-eyed.
Bruce face-palmed. "Just what we need... Another pet..."
"I'm going to name him Churro!" Danny said lovingly, nuzzling his face in Churro's neck. He got a lick in return.
Cujo and Ace dashed from the hallway and tackled Danny and Churro.

Kadzait: This is the last chapter of this series!
But do not fret! There is going to be a sequel that comes out New Years! I shall also write a one-shot for Artemis and Wally's wedding! Yeah~!
Kadzait: You know next to nothing about weddings.
Yeah... This is gonna suck... KADDY, CARRY ME AWAY! *jumps into Kad's arms and both fall over*
Someone said something about the baby hyena but I cannot remember who! My memory tends to suck like that!
