Before I could begin with this final chapter, I would like to share some exciting news. Since late 2012 – 2013, my own version of Transformers Prime Season 3 has become very popular within the Fanfiction community. Preferably because most people believed that the actual third season was not only short, but also leaves a few questions that were left unanswered. It felt like this story, along with my extra supplement in this story, gives readers and clear view on what the season should've actually felt like. So much so that there was someone that was inspired to make his own version of Transformers Prime Season 3.
See, this person's name is nphillips0115 and he made a story that is based around my story. Though he had to make some serious adjustments and add a different plot, since he doesn't want to plagiarize my work. Still, I took a good look at this chapter and could tell that this is a good start. I had to beta the chapter for him on Google Docs to see if there are some misspellings and the like. But he has the potential in making just as good a story as mine. You are welcome to have a quick read through of that. The title of this said story is called, 'Transformers Prime Season 3 Episode 1: Metamorphosis', not to be confused of my first episode, 'Rebirth'. Go check his story out and leave a review for him. He would like to see some good results of his work.
Returning to this story, I was amazed that this story was a good. Shame that the readers here don't read it as much as my season three stories. Review count is up to eleven and the hit counter is over 1,500. Not as popular as my own version of the third season of Transformers Prime. But I'm not complaining. After all, there are those that still want more chapters of my recent episode. Especially those guest reviewers that annoy me in updating my stories many MANY times. Had to delete those reviews cause it's just plain annoying. Still, it won't last for this long. Once I finish this final chapter, I will focus more on my TFP season three. At least I was experimenting on doing two stories, one chapter at a time. I could tell it didn't work out since I had a lot of impatient people. Let's hope this will be the last.
Speaking of last, this last chapter will be where we will leave off from the end of chapter five of the second episode, 'Prime'. It will be where I will wrap things up and where this will lead on the second episode. If you like to see the second episode of TFP Season 3, you can read that as well to see what happens to Noble Team and Vince. However, you need to read episode one as well since there will be a bit of confusion on what's going on. But I'll let you decide. For now, enjoy this last chapter.
Disclaimer: I don't own Transformers Prime, Halo, or Gears of War.
Chapter Eleven: Aftermath
Back underground, after what Noble had to go through, after all seven circles from Hell in and around the town, they finally survived their final bout and escaped the Con attack. But at what cost? They have already lost a comrade of their own, when Carmine was brutally killed by Shockwave when he was split in half, and Paduk's face was burned when he was trying to get out of the fiery wave of the Nemesis weapon when it struck at the treatment facility. It was truly a living hell for them. Yet despite the two issues, they made it out of there and can now get to safety. They were with the remaining soldiers walking down the long and dark tunnel as Barrick and Emile were carrying Paduk, who was still wounded in the face and didn't have the strength to walk with the pain he was bearing. Barrick looked to Paduk and told him everything is all right.
Barrick: "Just hang on Paduk. We're just about there. You're going to be alright."
Paduk soon looked up to him and asked him for a quick favor.
Paduk: "Just be honest with me, Barrick. How do I look…?"
He turned his head to the demo expert, to get his honest opinion. Barrick looked to him to see the burnt and melted side of the face. He starred at it for a few good seconds until he responded the best he could.
Barrick: "Um… If I can be honest… You look like shit."
Paduk laughed it up and knew it was bad.
Paduk: "Figures… Guess I won't be going to anymore beauty pageants, huh?"
Barrick: "Nope… I don't think so."
The two laughed it up as they were trying to forget the experience they all went through. Meanwhile, Carter was next to Lasky and looked back at the scene.
Carter: "Can't believe those two are laughing it up after what we all have been through. Guess they need to find something positive in their lives."
Lasky turned to him and told him that it's best to forget what happened.
Captain Lasky: "Can you blame them? We have lost a lot of men back there and couldn't have seen it in the first place. A lot more at the start of the invasion. It was a dark time for all of us. At least it's now over and we can focus on trying to contact help outside the shield."
The Noble leader turned to him and asked about it.
Carter: "And how in the hell are we going to get help. That shield the Decepticons placed blocked out all communication outside. You think we can find a way in contacting the military?"
The captain sighed and knew that it was inevitable.
Captain Lasky: "I don't know… But the least we can do is try."
Commander Palmer then told everyone that they're near.
Commander Palmer: "We're almost at the fallout shelter, everyone. Keep walking."
As they continued to walk, Vince was walking and had his head down and was very depressed over something. The person closest to him was Sofia as she noticed it and joins him.
Sofia: "Hey… How are you holding up?"
The bully looks up and could see the worriness on her face. Looking away, he answered in a calming manner.
Vince: "I'm fine… Why do you ask?"
Sofia sighed and could tell that he was distancing himself from everyone. So she explained on why he was keeping himself quiet.
Sofia: "Because of what happened to Carmine. When he got killed by that Cyclops. Are you all right?"
Vince kept tuning away and couldn't just say it.
Vince: "I said I'm fine. I just got a lot to handle. Not since these Decepticons came in and nearly wipe me out."
Sofia was very quiet and wasn't sure how to approach all of this. So she sucked it up and decided to let it all out.
Sofia: "Look, I'm not one to be the voice of reason, but you can't just bottle up your feelings. The death of your family and now Carmine. It can take a lot out of someone that is close to them, even for a short time. You can't just keep it to yourself. I do believe that you shouldn't be alone in all of this. We all now share this type of pain. I should know, I lost a S.W.A.T. team when the attack started. If you want to share your feelings, you can tell any of us. We're always here for you."
Vince looked to her and was a little quiet by what she said. Indeed, he had to keep to himself after the death of Carmine. But then it means being so lonely again. First his family was taken from him, then a friend he recently met. This day couldn't get any worse then this. Still, if Sofia and the others wanted to talk about it, he'll try to open up on it. With a smile, he told her that he got it.
Vince: "Thanks. I promise I will speak to you about how I'm feeling. As long as it's all right with you."
The S.W.A.T. officer smiled back and responded.
Sofia: "Of course. Feel free to speak about anything."
Vince nodded as he kept walking with the others. Soon enough, they turned to the right and entered a wider tunnel with a huge safe at the end. The group saw this as the captain said that they made it.
Captain Lasky: "There it is. That's the fallout shelter."
Carter looked to this and could tell that it's something.
Carter: "So this is the shelter underneath the city. Very convenient."
Palmer was next to him as she explained about it.
Commander Palmer: "Well, this is an old fallout facility that was built during the 1960s in the event of the Cuban Missile Crisis. As you can see, it prepped for nuclear fallout. Has a shielding that can reduce gamma ray exposure by a factor of 1,000 and has ten times the thickness of any quantity of material. This can also reduce the gamma ray intensity by 50% and the roof is built to withstand an aftershock of a bombing blast. That safe door was designed to absorb the shock wave of a nuclear blast, bending and then returning to their original shape. Inside, there is an environmental control system that helps keep the shelter cool and nice to keep the occupants safe from the radiated heat. There are multiple floors with bunk beds for the occupants to sleep in, a medical facility for the wounded that has medical supplies, a lounge to relax, and a cafeteria with crates of canned and dry food that would last for years."
Katherine looked to this and was a bit surprised by this description of the place. Yet even more surprised by the fact that the commander knows of it.
Katherine: "Impressive structure. Though I didn't think you know of this. How did you gather that information?"
Palmer turned to Kat and explained it.
Commander Palmer: "I'm a commander, Katherine. It's my job to know the area your mission is located and get a clear detail of what it is. Had to prepare for any contingency plans."
Lasky then went next to Katherine on the other side to finish what she said.
Captain Lasky: "And this is one of the contingency plans. Let's get going. I want to stay invisible from the Cons as long as possible."
They soon approached the safe as it started to open up and let them in. A small group of soldiers started to step out as one of them saluted.
"Captain Lasky! All the surviving civilians are present and accounted for. No fatal injuries or casualties."
Lasky looked to the soldier and was pleased.
Captain: "That's good to hear. But we have many injured during the final fight. One of them has his face half burned when the after effects of the weapons hit. He's in need of immediate medical attention."
The soldier looked to the side to see Paduk being hold by both Barrick and Emile and could see the end result of the blast. Nodding he told everyone to come on in.
"Understood. Come on everyone! Inside. Take anyone wounded to the medical ward. Double time it!"
The soldiers walk into the safe door and entered the fallout shelter. As they were getting in, Johnson noticed that the soldiers were setting up defenses at the entryway of the safe. Johnson saw the weapons they were piling on and asked one of the soldiers about that.
Sergeant Johnson: "You there, soldier. What's going on here? What's with all the weapons?"
The soldier looked to him and explained about it.
"Oh that? We're setting up defenses all across the entryway. If there's any chance that the Decepticons find this location, we have to make our last stand."
Johnson looks to this and was a little bit impressed by it.
Sergeant Johnson: "Hmm… Not bad. Still, we're going to need more firepower if we're going to hold the Cons back."
The soldier nodded as he spoke about it.
"Understood. We are already working on setting up the heavy stuff to push them back."
Lasky looked to Johnson and decided to let the sarge stay behind.
Captain Lasky: "Sergeant, remain with the others to help with the preparations. Though the Cons won't come here, it will be a matter of time before they find out about this place."
Johnson turned to him and gave a quick nod in understanding.
Sergeant Johnson: "Understood sir. I'll get right on it right away. Half of you are with me. Let's prep for a final battle."
Half the soldiers that aren't wounded heard him and followed his advice. They soon separated with the others and began working with everyone else in setting up the weaponry. Carter saw them getting everything ready and asked about it.
Carter: "You're sure that it's wise in getting everything ready for another onslaught. You know that this is a loosing fight."
Lasky heard him and rubbed his chin.
Captain Lasky: "Hmm… Perhaps, but at least they will fight until they die fighting with glory. Let's just hope that the Cons won't find us this soon."
The rest of the military headed down to the shelter and was getting near their position. By the time they reached the narrow hallway, they were amazed at the sight of the shelter. There were three floors filled with civilians that survived the Decepticon onslaught. To the left was medical with a group of people and soldiers that are both sick and injured from the attack, a cafeteria where people were eating their emergency rations, and a lounge on top for enjoying some entertainment from reading books to playing games. To the right were three floors of barracks with bunk beds and cots, where everyone is setting up residence and looking for their designated beds. Everyone looked to this and was surprised of how it looks.
Thorne: "Okay… This is something unexpected."
Sofia looked to this as well and was impressed by it.
Sofia: "Well, they did say it was big enough to fit an entire town. It looks like they were true to their word. Still, I do seem a little vacant. Maybe it's because some of the occupants were killed by those Cons. Feel sorry for those poor people."
Carter heard her and told her it's all right.
Carter: "There now. There will be time to grieve. Right now, we should get settled in and plan for any attacks that would happen."
Everyone soon separate as they went to different directions. Emile and Barrick guided Paduk to the medical ward so he is treated for the burn on his face. Carter decided to head to Lasky and Palmer as they headed to other end of the shelter while Katherine followed behind. And Thorne and Sofia were heading to the barracks to see where they would be sleeping. Vince followed behind as he thought after a long and dangerous battle and surviving through the invasion, he could really need to serious R & R. As he was searching for a bed, he could hear a voice from close by.
Principle Madden: "Vince?"
Vince turned to the sound of the voice and saw Principle Madden, waving to him with the surviving students setting up camp. Vince smiled as he rushed to him with a satisfying grin on his face.
Vince: "Principle Madden!"
He then got to him and gave a quick hug to him. Both Thorne and Sofia looked on and were quite surprised by it.
Thorne: "Aww… Isn't that sweet… The bully now has a kind heart."
Vince heard that and was extremely silent over all of this. He immediately let go of the hug and felt embarrassed over all of it. He soon turned to them and told them that it was a bit of an overreaction.
Vince: "Sorry… I got a little carried away."
The two Noble members looked at each other before turning back to the bully.
Sofia: "Uh huh… Sure…"
The principle though looked to his student and was a little upset over what happened.
Principle Madden: "Vince, what were you thinking? Storming out there in a dangerous battlefield, fighting huge robots that are well equipped. You could've gotten killed!"
Vince turned to him and sees him upset over that little incident.
Vince: "Hey! I lost someone just as close as my family! Noble was overrun! I had to do something to help them!"
The principle rubbed the temple of his forehead and was a little understanding about it.
Principle Madden: "Okay… I get it that you've lost your family and that friend of yours. I can also see why you want to fight back for what you lost. But what you did out there, that is not your call! Do you know how close you are in loosing your life? Any idea on the risk you made!"
That's when Thorne and Sofia came in and made their argument on the whole thing.
Thorne: "Show the kid a little respect! He was with us the whole time while you and your students were hiding in that hospital."
Sofia: "Yeah! Plus he helps us out a lot more then you think. If it hadn't been for him, we wouldn't last this long."
Madden turned to the two and kept bashing them.
Principle Madden: "Even so, he's still a kid. Nothing more… You should be ashamed of yourself dragging him into this war in the first place. And you call yourself soldiers…"
Both Sofia and Thorne were silent, as they didn't know what to say next. However, they were saved as Emile and Barrick approached them, as the demo expert gave his two cents.
Barrick: "These soldiers managed to save your sorry Asses back up there. We sacrificed everyone to save your future. Do you think you can take on the Cons yourself? No? Well why don't you sit down and shut the fuck up! Cause it seems like you just complaining about how our job nearly cost the life of one your student."
The principle looked to him and was about to say something to him. But after hearing what he said, he decided to keep his mouth shut and grunted to himself.
Principle Madden: "Fine… Have it your way…"
He soon turned to the students and faculty and told them to find their beds.
Principle Madden: "All right everyone! Go and find your spots. We're going to be living here for a while."
As he was walking away, Vince and the rest of Noble saw him leave as Vince turned his head away. Barrick could see him looking a little down and placed his hand on his shoulder to ease his mind. Vince felt that and looked to him wondering what he wants this time. The demo expert soon gave him a warming smile and told him that it was all right.
Barrick: "Hey, forget what the principle said. What you did up there was the bravest thing you've ever done. Hell, we wouldn't have gotten this far if it hadn't been for you. You would've made a great soldier in the near future. Carmine would've been very proud of you."
Vince heard that and was really encouraged by those words. With a warm smile on his face, he nodded and gave his thanks.
Vince: "Thank you."
Barrick smiled back and responded.
Barrick: "Don't mention it. Now go with your friends and find you bed. We'll be here if you need us."
Vince heard that and decided to follow his advice. He soon left the team and rejoined the students as some of them spoke to the bully and told him that the blaster that was strapped to his back looked awesome on him. Few of them also asked if they could hold it, but he said no because it's something special from Carmine. Noble watched it all as Emile asked about what the demolition expert has said.
Emile: "You think that what you said is true? You think that Vince you make a reliable soldier?"
Barrick turned to the scout and told him that he's certain.
Barrick: "No doubt about it. It might take some time, but he'll make a great soldier. Who knows, he could actually become part of Noble one day."
Thorne then went next to him and said that it would have to wait.
Thorne: "Until then, he's just a kid. Let him have the life he has until he's ready."
The team looked on as Vince was getting himself settled in, knowing there's a bright future ahead of him.
Back with Carter and Katherine, they were following Lasky and Palmer as they reached the end of the shelter. As they were heading to a huge set of steel garage doors, the Noble Leader looked to Lasky and ask of the next course of action.
Carter: "Captain, if I mind, what can we do now?"
Lasky turned to him and was confused about his saying.
Captain Lasky: "What do you mean?"
Carter cleared his throat and explained what he asked.
Carter: "I mean how are we going to get the remaining civilians and military out of Jasper? I mean placing them underground and away from the Cons is a bit of a safe haven, but we're pretty much trapped in a rock and a hard place. So surely you have another contingency plan in getting us all out of this town."
The captain turned to him and told that this is it.
Captain Lasky: "Carter, this is the contingency plan. With Jasper fully taken over and that dome over the town preventing us from getting out and the military from coming in, are only option is to move the remaining occupants here until we find a way getting everyone out of here. As for getting everyone out, we working on that part."
Katherine heard that and didn't like the sound of it.
Katherine: "Gee… How convenient."
Carter turned to his Intelligence officer glared at her before going back to the Carter for another question.
Carter: "At least you have an idea on getting all of us out."
Lasky thought about it and decided to explain it.
Captain Lasky: "Maybe there is a way. Come in."
They soon opened the door and the four let themselves in. Once they were in, the place was incredibly dark and there's not much of light around there. That is until Palmer found a huge old-fashioned switch and turned it on. The lights started to flicker on and off for a few short seconds until the entire room was bathe in florescent light. When they got their sights back, they looked on and were amazed at what they saw. All around them, they saw a variety of communication devices from ham radios to old-fashioned computers. There is a huge map of the United States at the other end while two American flags were at each corner. Looking on, Carter was amazed and asked of this place.
Carter: "Whoa… What is this place?"
Palmer then came next to him and explained where they are.
Commander Palmer: "One thing about the military, they do came prepare for everything, whether it be supplies and communication. Most of the military personnel use these fallout shelters as storage. Most of it has to do with communications and weaponry that is recently obsolete. These were used from Nam to early 1990s – 2000s. Most of it seems to work if we can get it all together."
Katherine looked to this and started to piece things together.
Katherine: "So you're saying that if we can get all these things online, we might be able to contact the military on the other side of the dome barrier. Seems like a risk, giving how old this tech is."
Lasky turned to her and explained that it's the best option they have.
Captain Lasky: "It might be a long shot, but it's the only option we have. If we are to contact the military that we're still here, we have to get all this equipment working and hope for the best."
Carter then turned to him and asked one more thing.
Carter: "And if the shield the Cons placed prevents us from contacting anyone outside with the equipment we possess, what do we do?"
Lasky soon turned to him and gave him a questionable answer.
Captain Lasky: "Then our best bet is to pray for the best."
As they were planning on their next course of action, back in the surface, the Decepticons were celebrating their victory over the first stage of conquering the planet. They have lost many lives during the attack, but their numbers were enormous as they overwhelmed the humans. Now Jasper is under Con control and it will be a matter of time before the rest of the planet falls under Megatron's reign. Up on Darkmount, the Airadicons flew in grand fashion around the tower as Megatron sat on his throne, pleased with how successful the extermination went. On his left side, Starscream and Knockout stood proudly, while Soundwave stand there silently on the right. The Vehicons then stood at attention, waiting for the returning Con to make his presence. Just then, the floor on the other side opened up as one Con rose from the lift. That said con was Shockwave as he slowly approached Megatron and bowed when he stopped. The leader looked to him and has a sinister glee on his face.
Megatron: "Shockwave… I would like to congratulate you on a job well done. You're quick thinking, strategic planning, and understanding orders has helped on in attacking that human town and eradicating all those weak humans. You have earned our trust, including my own, and you deserve to be within the Decepticon cause."
The science officer heard that and was pleased with the response.
Shockwave: "Lord Megatron… I am honored to be back in the fold and will continue the campaign in taking over this planet and the extermination of these humans. I promise you, that I will do anything in my power to help you make this world yours."
Megs smiled and was pleased with the news. Knockout looked on with a smile and joined in with the celebration.
Knockout: "Welcome to the winning team, Shockwave."
Soundwave just looked to the science officer and silently nodded in approval as well. Starscream though looked to him with his arms crossed and wasn't pleased with Shockwave returning after the unexpected return. However, he was successful in eliminating the humans in the town. So he looked to him sternly and responded with his congratulatory compliment.
Starscream: "Yes… Welcome back, Shockwave. You deserve this moment."
Shockwave look to each of the three and was pleased with how they all responded.
Shockwave: "Thank you all for your appreciation."
Megatron though got back to business and explained what the Cons have discovered.
Megatron: "However, the reason why you were called here isn't because of your success, be that you managed to prove your purpose. But this is a matter of grand importance that needs to be address."
Shockwave looked to his leader and was confused about this.
Shockwave: "And what, pray tale, is the situation, Lord Megatron?"
Megatron looked to him and explained about it.
Megatron: "While you were eradicating these humans, we were looking through the wreckage of the Autobots base close by to find the bodies. We did, however, found one, but not what we were expecting. We have found Optimus Prime…"
Shockwave heard that and was surprised by that sudden development.
Shockwave: "That is questionably surprising. Optimus Prime is a great leader who said can never get terminated. Guess I was wrong. Is he offline?"
Megatron though shook his head and told him the honest truth.
Megatron: "Sadly no… Somehow, he managed to survive the blast that leveled his base. But the discovery of Prime has lead to another. Turns out, his team left the base through the ground bridge and transported to different parts of the country. He stayed behind and destroyed the bridge controls, preventing us in find their exact location. I have already sent search and destroy units out looking for them, but giving how big the planet is, it will be impossible to located them all."
Shockwave heard all of this and nodded in understanding.
Shockwave: "And the Prime. What of him?"
Knockout then approached him and explained about the Autobot leader.
Knockout: "I have my team take him to the medical wing where I could path him up long enough to live, before taking him to the brig. Megatron believes that Optimus might have some insight on where his team is located. But giving that he's a Prime, he won't comply. Which we need to extract the information out of him the hard way."
That's where Megatron asked the science officer a small favor.
Megatron: "Which is why you are here, Shockwave. Giving how successful you were in that town, I do believe you are the right mech for the job."
Shockwave heard him and was ready to serve.
Shockwave: "What is it you want me to do?"
Megatron: "I want you was create a weapon that we can use to find and destroy Optimus's little team. Giving your experience with unlimited source of weapons, I do believe you can create something that will ensure our victory."
Shockwave heard is request and gave it some deep thought. After thinking things through, he came up with something he was doing lately.
Shockwave: "I do believe I have the most logical weapon that could help destroy the Autobots.
Megatron heard this and was pleased with his response.
Megatron: "Do you now?"
Shockwave: "Indeed… It is something I was working on during my exile on Cybertron. I was nearing my completion with my project until I picked up that energy surge from the destroyed Omega Lock and had to investigate. If you can bridge me back to my lab, I can complete my project and I'll present it to you as soon as it is done."
Megs listened in and was interest in this project of his.
Megatron: "And you're certain that this little project of yours can eliminate the Autobots scattered around the planet?"
Shockwave looked up to him and was honest with his word.
Shockwave: "I promise you, what I have created will help you in your quest in eliminating the Autobots."
Megatron smiled viciously as he knew he brought back an honorable member of his ranks.
Megatron: "Then it is settled."
He soon turned to Soundwave and requested for a quick favor.
Megatron: "Soundwave, prepare a bridge to Cybertron!"
The intelligence officer turned to him and nodded in response. His screen soon turned on and the data streamed down with the 3D imaging of the bridge was powered up along with coordinates to where Shockwave needs to be. As soon as he got the calculations down, the green and blue portal opened up behind Shockwave and glowed brightly. Shockwave looked back at the portal as Megatron spoke to him.
Megatron: "The bridge is set to Cybertron. You will head down to your lab and complete this project you are working on. Once you have finished with your work, contact Soundwave so we can bridge you and your weapon here. I'm hoping that whatever you are making can tip the scales in our favor."
Shockwave turned back to the leader and understood what he wanted.
Shockwave: "Understood, my liege. I promise you that what I made is the most logical of choices."
He soon got up and turned to the spacebridge, walking towards it with pure determination. As soon as he vanished, the portal closed up and the throne room was eerily silent. That is until Starscream started to turn and speak to the warlord.
Starscream: "Lord Megatron, you think this is wise to have Shockwave return to his lab on Cybertron without any supervision?"
Megs turned to his commander and was curious of his question.
Megatron: "And what, pray tale do you think of that assumption?"
Scream shrugged it off and explained about it.
Starscream: "Well, even if he was successful in his mission, there is still concern of whether he could still be trusted after his unexpected exile. Perhaps have some one watching over him to see if he keeps his end of the bargain. Also, he stated that he was making a project of some kind, yet he didn't explain what it was. He just told us that he's working on something, but he never told us what it was."
Megatron listened to his reasons and got the idea of what he was referring to.
Megatron: "Indeed, Shockwave didn't explain about the weapon he was mentioning, but we do not need to worry. Shockwave is a great scientist and inventor within the Decepticon cause. His innovations and weapons paved the way in our numerous victories. Whatever project he's working on, it will be just as successful as all of his previous work. All you need is a little patience. When he's ready to reveal it, I'm sure that it will be glorious…"
Two weeks later…
Two weeks have passed since Jasper was invaded. Now it has become nothing more then a war torn ghost town under Decepticon control. As far as the occupants within the city, they remain underground, deep within the fallout shelter underneath the town, waiting, hoping that help will come and get them out of the hellhole. But with the energy dome surrounding the town and Darkmount, it will be impossible to get any rescue at all. Within the shelter, the remaining human occupants remained underground and were getting annoyed that they have remained there for weeks. Though there is still food, medical supplies, and other rations around, they still wished that they you leave the place and hope for an escape. There were also scufflings all around as some people started to get restless. There are two people that that have started to argue over some food.
"Hey! That was my beer can you stole from me! Do you know how hard it is to find it around here?"
"Piss off! It's not my fault that you left it behind and didn't keep a close eye on it. Besides, I didn't see your name on it."
"Oh really? Well maybe if you just stopped and asked if this one is mine, then I wouldn't have my beer taken from you!"
One of the citizens started to get pissed off and decided to fight it off.
"That's it! The gloves come off!"
Soon enough, the two were tackled on the ground as started to fight it out. The two punched each other, hitting themselves in the face and sides, getting rough on their struggle. The people around them scattered away to keep themselves away from the fight. Soon enough soldiers started to surround the two and tried to break the fight off. One of them is Emile as he managed to keep the two separate.
Emile: "Break it up! Break it up you two! No way we're not going to have you two fight it off over a beer. There's plenty more for everyone."
The two looked to the scout and then each other. Letting cooler heads prevail, the two walked off and decided to not waist the energy with a mindless scuffle. Emile sighed, as he knew this wasn't getting them anywhere. He soon walked away, and headed to where the rest of Noble was at their bunks looking at the fight that was broken off. Barrick though didn't pay attention, as he was busy etching something on the Ex-Wife very lightly, just to make sure that it didn't blow up in front of his face and destroy the entire fallout shelter in the process. Emile walked to the group and was completely overwhelmed by the scuffles.
Emile: "Another fight between the citizens of Jasper. This is the third time today. How the hell are we going to place order in this place if everyone is getting extremely antsy."
Thorne looked to him and was in agreement with him.
Thorne: "Can you blame them? We've all been cooped up in here for two weeks straight. All this restlessness and impatience is driving everyone up the walls. All they can do is wait until help arrives or the Cons find us. And I'm certain none of them want the latter."
Sofia sighed and knew that was true.
Sofia: "Well they all need to keep waiting until something happens. No doubt those Cons will find us soon before help does arrive. It's all in a matter of time on when they will come."
Barrick heard this and chuckled over the fact.
Barrick: "Let them come… They would think twice to come here, with my beautiful Ex-Wife. Check out the engraving I set on the side. They should really fear her."
He finished with the engraving as he showed it to Emile. The scout looked to this and saw the small enough title that said, 'I want a divorce!'. He starred right at it and cringed at the thought of it.
Emile: "Wow… Very poetic… Those Cons should really look out when you fire that thing."
They soon heard the voice of Paduk coming from close by.
Paduk: "Better they fear that thing then us. Ultimately, I'm really itching for a fight against those Cons after what they did to my face."
They all turned to the direction of the voice as they saw Paduk approaching them. He had recovered from his experience, though that burnt scar on the side of his face is a grim reminder of how close he came to instant death. Thorne looked to him and asked if he was all right.
Thorne: "Hey, Paduk… Feeling all right?"
The sniper turned to the rookie and answered as he always answered.
Paduk: "I've been through worse. This scar is nothing compared to what happened to our fallen comrades. When I get my hands on them, they will all pay for what they did."
Sofia crossed her arms and was eager to fight too.
Sofia: "You and me both, Paduk. After what those bastards did to my S.W.A.T. team, I want my revenge as well."
Suddenly, they could hear the voice of another familiar person.
Vince: "I third that notion."
They soon turned to see Vince approaching them with a look of determination. Strapped to his back is the detached Decepticon blaster that Carmine had before his demise as he kept it in his memory.
Barrick: "Vince! Nice to see you here. Can see you are getting use to Carmine's blaster."
Vince smiled as he told them that it was the one weapon he couldn't let go.
Vince: "Well, I couldn't let go of something that was close to a good friend. Besides, you could need some backup since Carmine is with my family. At least the soldiers around here helped me out on how to operate this weapon. Even did my own practice with a bunch of cans lying around. Yep… Definitely ready to blast some Con heads this time."
The team looked on and was amazed at how much Vince had gone through since the attack started. With the losses he faced, trials he got through, and quick thinking he did, it was amazing how mature he had become. It was almost as if they were looking at Carmine just about now. But whatever the case, he was still Vince in front of them. With a deep sigh, Emile decided to give him the honest truth.
Emile: "Kid, whatever the case, Carmine and your family are looking down on you, knowing that you've changed a lot since Jasper was invaded. And to be quite honest, you are part of our family too."
Vince smiled, as he was glad that Noble allowed him into the team. After all, they are not only a team, but a family as well. As soon as they were happy for this moment, they could hear want sounded like a huge explosion from overhead as the foundation shook and the lighting fixtures swayed back and forth, sparking in and out in mere moments. Everyone felt that and crowded around each other, fearful of what just happened. Noble felt that as well they held on with whatever is bolted to the ground. Once the aftershock dissipates, everyone looked on and was worried sick of what transpired.
Barrick: "Whoa! What was that?! The felt almost like an earthquake or something."
Thorne looked up to the ceiling and curious about that as well.
Thorne: "Whatever it was, it came from above ground. Wonder what?"
It was then that the voice of Captain Lasky echo through the shelter.
Captain Lasky: "That is the sound of one of their fusion cannons!"
Everyone turned to the direction of the voice and saw Lasky walking towards the team with the commander by the right side and Carter and Katherine on the left. Noble got up at attention as Emile was a little confused.
Emile: "One of their own, captain? You mean the Decepticons."
Lasky approached them and explained a bit more in detail.
Captain Lasky: "I know the sound of that weapon all too well. It the same cannon on top of that fortress that took out the strike force I sent to take it down."
Everyone turned to each other as Sofia started to deduce a few things.
Sofia: "But, everyone is down here and accounted for. If the Cons are firing one their cannons on top of the tower, then that means…"
Lasky nodded and told them two strong options.
Captain Lasky: "Either our rescue unit has arrived to save us, or there are still survivors above ground."
The team was very quiet, as they didn't expect news like that.
Thorne: "But that's impossible! That barrier the Cons place is preventing our back up from getting to us. Unless they lowered the shield to attack the back up for shits and giggles."
Paduk: "And there's no way there are still people surviving up there. They wouldn't last that long, giving that Cons must be patrolling the streets of Jasper by now."
Palmer though stepped forward and told them that they couldn't take the risk.
Commander Palmer: "Whatever the case, we can't just stand idly by while someone up there gets killed. We have to act now and get whoever is up there to safety."
Captain Lasky: "Which is why we need a team up there and investigate the surface to find those survivors. And by the looks of it, you are the only team that can do this job."
That's when Carter stepped forward and gave the immediate orders.
Carter: "You heard him Noble. We have to get back up to the surface to find any survivors. Grab your gear and move out! We've got to investigate!"
Noble stood there in silent and didn't think they would get up there, after what all of them had to go through. But orders are orders, as they need to get those people back underground. So they started to get their weapons and munitions ready for a search and rescue mission. As they were getting ready, Vince headed to the Noble leader and asked for a favor.
Vince: "Think I can come with you, sir? I can help you get around the town and sewer like last time."
Carter was quiet about the whole thing as he turned to Lasky for an answer. The captain turned to him and responded with an honest answer.
Captain Lasky: "After what he did for you two weeks ago, you should take him with you. Just take care of him."
The Noble Leader nodded and looked down to Vince for approval.
Carter: "You can come with us, Vince. Just as long as you stay close to us."
Vince smiled and was happy to be with Noble again. With a quick salute, he headed to his bed to set everything up as well. As he was getting himself ready, Katherine approached Carter's side and asked about that decision.
Katherine: "You're sure it was wise bringing him in again? He was a big help back then, but that's when we were trying to get to his family before. But then after that…"
The Noble leader placed a hand on her shoulder and told her that it was all right.
Carter: "He had been a big help for us since we found him. He will keep on assisting us and help us find a way around the sewer and town. Not to worry. As long as he stays with us, he'll be safe."
Fifteen minutes later, Noble was within the sewer system, finding a way to get to the surface to find some survivors. They walked through the side walkways as their flashlights attached to their weapons shined through the darken tunnels. As they were walking, Vince was taking the lead, looking for a way in getting up to the surface. Looking around, he still couldn't find the closest ladder around the area. He did however found a manhole cover close to them, but the ladder was a bit damaged and broke off in half, leaving it impossible to get up.
Vince: "Hmm… Looks like another inaccessible way up. Let's find another."
Thorne groaned and could tell that this wasn't getting them anywhere.
Thorne: "Seriously…? Another one…? That's the fifth one for around fifteen minutes! Think we can at least climb up to one of these ladders and hope for the best?"
Vince turned to him and shook his head, explaining how grave that situation will be.
Vince: "No can do… These ladders have a lot of rust on them due to the elements. If we try to climb one of them, it will snap and we'll either fall to our deaths, or into a pool of shit. Do you really want to take that type of risk?"
The rookie was very silent over this and decided not to jump into getting killed or smell awful. Carter though was in agreement with Thorne and asked if there was some way in reaching the surface.
Carter: "Is there another way in getting up to the surface? Whoever is up there can't wait for us for long."
The bully turned to the Noble leader and spoke about where to go next.
Vince: "There is another manhole area with a ladder not far from here. If that ladder isn't like the others, then we'll take it up."
Carter nodded as he decided to keep moving forward.
Carter: "Good. We need to get out of the sewer as soon as possible and find a way to the surface post haste. Can't have those people waiting for us topside. Move out!"
So the group kept walking forward as they needed to find a way up to the surface. During that time, Barrick and skimming the area with his grenade launcher and was a little nervous over something. Emile saw this and asked if he was all right.
Emile: Yo Barrick, are you okay?"
The demo expert turned to him and said that he's fine.
Barrick: "Wha… No, I'm fine. Never better. Why you ask?"
Emile: "Well… You do seem a little jumpy. Does it have something to do with the Cons?"
Barrick blinked and told him that it's not the case.
Barrick: "What? Me? No! I'm not afraid to take down those Cons! It's just that… Those little metal critters crawl around… That gives me the creeps."
Sofia heard that and laughed a little.
Sofia: "Really? Someone like you that can take down a lot of Cons, is afraid of little metal balls of sharp teeth? And I thought you were a man. Don't worry; I'll take good care of you."
Barrick groaned, as he couldn't believe what he heard.
Barrick: "Great… Me being protected by a girl. How embarrassing…"
A few of them laughed it up as they were enjoying this moment for a while. But then, Katherine lifted her hand up and told them to be quiet.
Katherine: "Everyone shush… You guys hear that?"
There was a bit of silence, as the team didn't hear anything except the dripping part of the water.
Thorne: "I don't hear anything. Just water…"
Katherine groaned as she told them to listen carefully.
Katherine: "Keep listening. It sounds like people within the tunnels."
So the group listened again and waited for something. But then, they heard what sounded like an older male teenager speaking to the young male preteen.
"-it would be nice if you can access your wi-fi and to look in to the map to Jasper's sewer systems from there."
"Easier said then done. That barrier that's over the town is blocking Internet access as well. So my built in Wi-Fi won't work around here."
"Well you got to think of some way in getting us to the old base. We can't let the team wait for us forever."
"I know, I know! But the whole sewer system is a bit more complex then I expected it to be. Could take us hours to find the right path, maybe even days."
"But we don't have that amount of time. We need to get to Darkmount now before it's too late."
Noble listened to that conversation as Emile realized what it was.
Emile: "Sounds like the survivors made it to the sewers."
Carter heard that as well and decided to follow it.
Carter: "They could be the reason why the Decepticons fired one of their cannons. Let's go after them and bring them to the shelter. They might need some medical attention."
The group soon followed the voices as they went through drainage tunnel after drainage tunnel. Soon enough, the voices were getting closer as they knew they found who they're looking for. But when Paduk peeked to the side, he was in for quite a shock as it looked like huge metal giants walking through the darkness.
Paduk: "Check your six. Those aren't survivors; I got Decepticons in my sights. Looks like three of them."
Carter saw the huge shadows as well and realized that it has gotten serious.
Carter: "That's a confirm Paduk. Keep your distance."
They slowly walked by the wall very quietly as they went on ahead of the three. Once they have everything set up for an ambush. Thorne asked about this.
Thorne: "Decepticons? Here in the sewer! But I thought that we were in the clear."
Sofia though didn't like it and said to the rookie what she's thinking.
Sofia: "It's obvious that they was expanding their search through the sewer tunnels. Which means it would be a matter of time before they could find the fall out shelter. We can't let them get away with it."
Vince heard that too and knew she's right. If the Cons managed to reach the sewer systems, then it would mean that they would find the last human stronghold and take it out. Tightening his blaster, he decided to intervene.
Vince: "Then let's do it…"
Once he saw the three shadows, he came out of cover and ran towards them. Carter saw him leave and tried to stop him.
Carter: "Vince! Get back here. It's too dangerous!"
He wouldn't listen, as he was already midway through the passage. Sighing to himself, he decided go after him as his team followed suit. Once they reached the middle of the passage. Carter managed to grab Vince and put him back as the team started to turn on their infrared targeting sensors at the three. The Cybertronians stopped where they are as they had the look of shock in their faces. Vince though could see that they were caught by surprised as he shoved Carter's arm away and slowly approach them, telling them to remain where they are.
Vince: "Hold it right there freaks!"
Getting a closer look at them, he noticed that they were not the Cons he'd seen on the surface, but something much different. The first one was big and bulky with black and gray armor that resembled a Hummer H2. The second one was smaller and had orange and brown armor of Scion XB car parts and a visor over his spiky helm. The third though had a body type of a female and had purple color with pink flame decals with car doors as shields and a helm with two pigtails on the top. But the one thing that caught his attention is that there were two humans with them. One is a teenage girl of Indian decent with fiery red hair that was designed in pigtails too. The other is a white Caucasian boy wearing a Strokes t-shirt. Vince never thought that there were humans with the Cons. But he was also noticed that the three seem vaguely familiar, yet he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Doesn't matter though, a Decepticon is a Decepticon and he'll fight them off whatever the cost.
That's a promise he will tend to keep.
To be continued on Transformers Prime Season 3 Episode 2: Prime…
And that's the end of my story in Transformers Prime Invasion. I got to admit, this wasn't one of my best works. Yet it is a really good supplement to my version of TFP season three. Still, my experiment with the switch between the two stories didn't work out the way I was expecting. Especially with guest reviews trying to force me to update the next chapter of my version of season three. But at least I'm done with the whole thing and I can get back to the actual episode of the story. I'm hoping that this extra can give you a clue on how the City of Jasper suffered from the end of season 2 to the second episode of my version of season 3. Hope you guys enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. Stay tune for more of Season 3 of Transformers Prime. Please Review. #WherearetheGoodCartoons?
