Tony still could not believe that Gibbs was gone. Melody's talk had helped ease his guilt a little but he was still in pain. The rest of the team were coming to the hospital later and Tony was dreading giving them the news. Ducky and Vance were the only ones who knew besides him and Melody. Ducky knew because he was Gibbs's next of kin and Vance knew because he was informed any time an anyone who worked for the agency died. Both expressed their condolences to Tony and assured him that it was in no way his fault. They were just relieved that Andrew was alive. Still Tony couldn't shake his guilt. He remained in his son's room until Melody came in and told him that the team had arrived. Andrew was asleep. So he quietly told a nurse to let Andrew know where he was if he woke up before Tony returned. He walked out to the hallway into the waiting room. Where Abby and McGee were sitting on the love-seat in the back corner of the waiting room.

"So what's the news you wanted to tell us, Tony?" McGee asked.

"Yeah all Melody would tell us was that it was bad news? Did something happen during surgery? Oh Tony did you lose Andrew too?" Abby asked.

"Andrew is fine but Gibbs uh Gibbs didn't make it." Tony replied.

"What do you mean Gibbs didn't make it?!" Abby demanded.

"Yeah what happened?" McGee asked.

"Oh yeah you guys don't know anything about last night. Well late last night I was informed that they had a kidney for Andrew. They said it was Gibbs. I had a bad feeling the whole time and when Andrew got out of surgery they told me that he had come through just fine but Gibbs had gone into shock and then cardiac arrest and that he had died." Tony explained.

"Gibbs gave Andrew his kidney?" McGee asked.

"Yeah" Tony replied.

"Why would you make him do that?! He is almost sixty years old?!" Abby demanded.

"Yeah! That was way too dangerous! For Gibbs and Andrew! Besides we said we would all get tested later and Abby and I had both talked to some friends about getting tested as well!" McGee snapped.

"It wasn't me. He just wanted to do it. He came to the hospital got tested and when everything was matched and OK. He insisted they do the surgery right then." Tony explained.

"You should have said no or at least called us!" Abby snapped.

"I only just find out!" Tony snapped.

"I can't believe it! You! You killed Gibbs!" Abby yelled.

"It wasn't my fault!" Tony cried.

"Cut the crap Tony! We are done with you and your misery!"McGee screamed.

"You wouldn't say that to Gibbs!" Tony shot-back.

"Gibbs would have never made anybody give Kelly a kidney!" Abby yelled.

"Yeah!" McGee agreed.

Tony couldn't say anymore. He was lost and heart-broken everything that Melody and Andrew had said to reassure him was gone and suddenly he was left feeling worse than before. All those dark and hopeless feelings he had felt after Tori and the baby died and he thought he had lost Andrew came rushing back. He found himself standing on the roof of the hospital. Thirteen stories he hoped that was high enough to kill him. He had written a note and left it in Melody's purse. Saying "how sorry he was but he couldn't live with the guilt and begging her to care for Andrew and their unborn child." He felt terrible for committing suicide and leaving Andrew an orphan and his and Melody's baby without a father. He stepped onto the ledge, closed his eyes, and jumped. He felt the wind rushing as he jumped and he swore he heard a familiar voice calling his name.

"DiNozzo? You with me, DiNozzo?" Gibbs called.

Tony was confused. He had just jumped off a thirteen story building. Shouldn't he be dead or at the very least in more pain? He opened his eyes and looked around. He was in Bethesda but he wasn't in the ICU or the psych-ward. He was in a regular room. He was even more confused by the fact that Gibbs was sitting beside him. Gibbs was dead. Wait? Was he dead? Was heaven a hospital or had he gone to hell? No that was impossible. Why would Gibbs be in hell?

"Oh Thank God! You are awake!" Gibbs cried.

"What do you mean? You are dead." Tony asked.

"What do you mean I am dead?" Gibbs asked.

"It all started when my wife Victoria, son Andrew, and unborn child were killed in a car accident. I was lost in grief for months and one day I went to commit suicide. You found me and talked me down. You took me to your house. I had a nightmare about my family and ended up confessing everything to you. You told me that you had lost your family too. When I started to come around you encouraged me to go back to work as a detective but I had already told Baltimore off. So you got me the Senior Field Agent job on your team. I took the job and NCIS was amazing. I met this girl Melody and for the first time since Tori died I had feelings for a woman. A few months passed and I found this little boy that turned out to be Andrew. All my fears were confirmed and it turned out my ex-partner Jeanne had murdered Tori. She had switched Andrew with another boy. So Andrew was still alive. We were reunited and Breena was pregnant. She had daughter Tori. Because Tori was Jimmy's adopted sister. One day Jeanne came back and took Andrew again. She also shot Jimmy and caused him to drive off the road. He died in the hospital and Melody killed Jeanne. Everything was fine until the SWAK envelope. I opened it thinking it was from Melody. It had been over a year since Tori died. So I was ready but when I opened it, it was filled with a white powder. Andrew was sick so he was with me and Melody in the squad-room when it happened. Andrew and I got the plague. I was OK once I recovered but Andrew had a bunch of health problems and needed a new kidney. You gave him one but it went wrong and you died. Andrew was OK though. I felt terrible but then Melody reassured me. I was doing OK until Abby and McGee told me that it was my fault that you were dead and that you hated me. I jumped off the roof of Bethesda and then I woke-up and I was here. Oh yeah and Breena was pregnant again when Jimmy died and so was Melody." Tony explained.

"None of that happened Tony. You joined my team in two thousand one after you tackled me on the street. We worked a joint case together. When you found out your partner was dirty you joined NCIS. You did get the plague but you and your partner at the time Kate were the ones exposed. She was OK but you were infected." Gibbs replied.

"Kate are we dating? Me and Kate I mean?" Tony asked.

"No sadly she died just after you returned to work after recovering from the plague. Ziva joined the team after that. You two liked each other pretty well but she left last year. She was here for a couple weeks but had to get back to Israel. She has a fiancee now and a job with Mosad which is what she was before she joined us. Bishop is your partner. As for you, you have never been married or had or lost a child. I never gave anyone a kidney and died in surgery, Jimmy never died in a car accident and Jeanne was evil but she wasn't that evil. Your teammates would never treat you that bad and you certainly never jumped off the roof." Gibbs explained.

"Then why am I here?!" Tony demanded.

"You have been in a coma for two months. I took the weekend off to go to my dad's grave on his birthday and left you in charge. You got an anonymous call from a woman claiming she was being raped on her ship. When you got there, there was no woman. Just a man with a bomb. You ordered McGee and Bishop off the ship but you couldn't get off in time. You actually went into the water. You had head-trauma, hypothermia, and water in your lungs. We almost lost you to pneumonia but you came through." Gibbs explained.

"OK" Tony replied.

"You have a lot to take in are you OK?" Gibbs asked.

"I am fine. I wish I had a son and a pregnant girlfriend but I am glad that I avoided all that loss." Tony replied.

"That is good now would you like to see the team?" Gibbs asked.

"Yes" Tony replied.

Gibbs stood up and walked over to the door. He returned several moments later with the team. Abby immediately wrapped him in a huge bear hug and said how happy she was that he was finally awake. McGee just said that he knew that he would wake up, Ducky smiled and said that he was beyond relieved that the ordeal was over, Bishop shook his hand and said she was glad he was OK, Jimmy hugged him and assured him that he was still alive. Even Vance was there and told him that he was more than welcome back to NCIS as soon as he was cleared. He even met the girl who was working for the team while he was in the hospital. Ironically she said that her name was Melody and she thought he was handsome. After the team left Tony leaned back on his bed and put his arms behind his head. There were certain parts of the dream he liked but the great thing about it all being a coma induced haze. Was that he could get the good parts without the bad. All he had to do was look for it.

"I am ready for a family." Tony said to himself.

It was three months before Tony was cleared to return to the field but he was allowed back to work on desk duty two weeks after being released from the hospital. During that time he started talking to Melody. She was a movie buff and had gone to Ohio State for two years. By the time Tony was back in the field they were dating. Two months later they were engaged and five months after that they were married. Now fifteen months had passed since their wedding and Tony and Melody were back at Bethesda. Because Melody was in labor with their son. A son that would have a three cousins right around his age. One named Donald Edward Palmer born to Jimmy and Breena eighteen months ago, another named John Jethro McGee born to McGee and Delilah seven months ago, and another named Jenny Ann Scuito adopted by Abby six weeks ago. After ten hours of labor Melody was sitting up in bed and Tony was beside her holding his ten minute old son.

"What do you want to name him?" Melody asked.

"I am partial to Leroy James DiNozzo." Tony replied.

"Leroy James? I love it." Melody replied.

Well that's it? What do you think? I decided to combine the two endings I had come up with. I had the idea for everything to be a dream when I was writing the first story "Common Tragedy" but when I was inspired to write a sequel I came up with the Tony/Melody love story and him finding Andrew.
