Ch.26

Percy POV

Five Months Later:

As I stare down at the diamond ring in my hand I feel so unsure of myself. I had been wanting to propose to Annabeth for so long. Annabeth was supposed to meet me at the restaurant in three hours and I was going to propose to her there. I didn't feel sure of myself at all. It seemed like just yesterday that I called off the wedding with Ashley. I was also scared out of my wits that she would say no. I loved Annabeth and I was sure of it.

Annabeth POV:

"Hey, Percy, I'm going to be a little late." I say into the phone. "That's fine. Are you stuck in traffic?" Percy replies. "Yeah, I will see you in about ten minutes. Bye" "Bye." he says as I hang up.

Percy POV:

When I finally see Annabeth walk into the restaurant I make sure to put the ring box back in my jacket pocket. "Hey, Percy." she comes over kissing me before sitting down. "So. How was your day?" I ask casually. "Well, I guess it was fine. Today was Lydia's first day of kindergarten. A whole day at school and she came home devastated. When Hazel came over to watch her before I left she cried harder than she did this morning." Annabeth says. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, you are here with me now." I say grabbing her hands and holding them. For a moment we just sit there like this, with the noise of people throughout the restaurant as our background music. I then know that it's time.

"Annabeth, my Wise Girl," I say to her, " today marks a year ago that you came back in my life. We have had our ups and downs and you have managed to love me again. I always knew you woulds be in my future and you always will. Happily-Ever-After may not exist, but I wouldn't want to try and make it happen with anybody but you." I say to her. "Seaweed Brain," she says with tears in her eyes. "So, Wise Girl," I say getting down on one knee in front of her and taking out the ring box. "Will you marry me?" "Percy,..." she says crying and slightly laughing. "Of course!" Annabeth says. I slide the ring on her finger and she grabs my neck and kisses me. I pick her up and spin her around. Just then all the people at tables around us start clapping. "I Love you, Percy." she whispers in my ear. "I love you too, Annabeth." I reply

OMG I know right?! Yes, Percy finally proposed! But don't worry its not the end quite yet.
