The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall. - Che Guevara
Unknown Location Between Realities
Lelouch was falling, that much he was aware of. How long and exactly where to he couldn't say as Mirallen didn't exactly clarify where she would be sending him. Would he appear at a time before Shinjuku or would he land in front of Clovis's Royal Guard? He didn't know and he hated it.
'Damn witch' Lelouch thought with a scowl, 'She could have at least told me where she was sending me to.'
Suddenly he saw a light below him which he was rapidly approaching. He steeled himself and began preparing for what would be on the other side, for no matter what it was he needed to be ready for it.
Lelouch opened his eyes, the scowl with look of malice plastered on his face. 'Kallen I swear if they even touch you, I will personally put a bullet in each of their skulls.'
Shinjuku Ghetto 2017 a.t.b.
Kallen was terrified and devastated. Anyone would have been in that situation, her life was about to be cut short and there was nothing she could do about it except look down the barrel of a gun and accept her fate. Except Kallen wasn't like that, she was strong and would try to get out of every situation, even if it seemed impossible. However, the fighting spirit had left her as she stared at the corpses in front of her. The first was the body of a mysterious green-haired girl, who had jumped in front of her when the men in front of her had followed the first volley, assumedly trying to protect Lelouch. Of course that didn't matter, as the second body was of the man she loved, Lelouch Lamperouge, also known as Lelouch vi Britannia. He had been filled with bullets when shielding her from the second volley the men send their way, and it broke her. She had been so happy to find out his secret, that he was a royal in hiding. It made herself feel special and she had promised to protect him, but she had failed and it broke her heart.
"You… killed him…." She quietly said, her voice cracking as tears coming to her eyes.
"Our orders were to bring her back alive," The commander of the men said, a small frown on his face as he looked at the body of the lime-haired girl before turning back to her, a wicked smile on his face, "Oh well, nothing can be done about it now. We'll tell our superiors that the Royal Guard found the terrorist hideout and killed them all. Regrettably the female hostage had already been tortured to death as well as a student that the terrorists also kidnapped. What do you think of that school girl?"
"I think your insane!" Kallen yelled, tears flowing down her face, causing the royal guard to laugh.
"We may be insane, but you are the one who currently lacks a future." The commander said, a smile on his face as he aimed his weapon at her, "Goodbye."
'This can't be happening!' She thought with sadness and desperation, both looking for a way out of this situation as well as having accepted her fate, 'Lelouch… I'm sorry…'
Suddenly, a hole appeared in the ceiling above her, filling the room with a kaleidoscope of blue, purple and white. Then, a white flash filled the room, blinding everyone. When Kallen was finally able to regain her sight, she was filled with both joy and shock as she gazed upon the back of someone she had seen as a corpse just a few moments ago.
"Lelouch…" She said, disbelief evident in her voice. Lelouch turned so as to face her, smiling as he did so.
"Yes Kallen it's me. I have been reborn again to defend the helpless, give hope to the hopeful, and deliver justice to the unjust." His face became serious and hard, "Starting with this pack of wild dogs in front of me."
He turned from her to face the royal guard once again, who were now starting to recover from the flash, becoming frightened at the sight of him. "Say… how should a Britannian who detests his own country live his life?"
"What is this… we killed you!?" The commander said, a tinge of fear in his voice.
"You can not easily kill a demon, Commander." Lelouch said, a wicked grin appearing on his face as he started walking forward, the royal guard taking one step back for every step forward he took. "What's wrong? Why not shoot? Your opponent is just a simple schoolboy. Or have you finally realized the inevitable truth? That the only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed!"
The commander began to reply, his lips beginning to move. However, Lelouch wasn't going to give them that chance. Reaching for the familiar feeling of Geass, he quickly found and activated the power, and said in a loud, commanding voice.
"I, Lelouch vi Britannia commands you… now all of you… die!"
He watched as their eyes gained a reddish glow and they began to smile.
"He he he, Happily your highness!" The captain yelled, raising the pistol to his throat, the rest of the guard following suit with their own weapons, "Fire!"
'It's good to be back.' Lelouch thought with a smug grin on his face as a shower of blood covered the walls of the warehouse and began soaking into the dirt floor. He then turned to face Kallen, getting a good look at her. Her hair was spiked up in the way he loved and that was oh so familiar to him. She was also wearing the standard female uniform for Ashford Academy; a light yellow jacket with a black skirt. He asked her if she was alright to which she nodded, the shocked look on her face clearly expressing her dumbfoundedness at the situation.
He decided that he would leave her to collect her thoughts and decided to look around at his surroundings, taking it all in with a disgusting form of nostalgia. He was standing in a filthy warehouse, dozens of Japanese and Britannian bodies strewn all over the floor. He felt a slight choking sensation around his neck and looking down at his own attire he realized that his clothes had turned from the blood-stained silk white robes he was wearing in the afterlife to his standard issue Ashford Academy boys uniform, the Ashford logo wrapped around his neck irritating the skin as it had a tendency to do. Turning back to the scene before him he shook his head in disgust.
"I can't believe Clovis could be capable of something like this." Lelouch said with disgust. Even after all these years, Lelouch still despised his half-brother for this, the senseless slaughter of hundreds if not thousands of unarmed civilians. "He's not the same brother I knew from all those years ago..."
He was interrupted by a soft feminine voice calling his name from behind him. He began turning around only to get nailed in the side of the face by a punch from Kallen, who had a scowl on her face. He fell to the ground in pain, grabbing his left cheek.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!" She screamed, anger radiating off her in waves, making Lelouch involuntarily scoot back in fear, "I SAW THEM SHOOT YOU! I SAW YOU DIE!"
Kallen slammed a fist into the wall of the warehouse. "THEN, IN SOME MOVIE BULLSHIT FLASH OF LIGHT YOU'RE STANDING HERE WITHOUT A SCRATCH ON YOU AND ALSO HAVING THE POWER TO KILL PEOPLE JUST BY TELLING THEM TO!"
It was then silent, her words echoing throughout the building. It was a few seconds before Lelouch decided to say something.
"Kallen…"
"Don't you dare speak Lelouch!" Kallen shouted, turning to face him, a glare on her face. Her arms were now at her sides, hands tightly clenched into tight fists, "You scared me half-to-death! I thought you were dead!" She hung her head so her bangs were covering her eyes, the next words out of her mouth barely above a whisper, "... I thought I had lost you…."
Tears started falling onto the ground as Kallen began to silently cry. Lelouch's heart was breaking, his mask quickly falling. He stood up rather shakily and walked over to Kallen, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. When Kallen looked up she saw the eyes of a caring, comforting, compassionate man and not the stoic, cold person Lelouch publicly portrayed himself to be. She quickly wrapped him in a tight hug, burying her head into his shoulder, letting out all the fear and sadness she felt. Lelouch returned the hug, comforting her like he would Nunnally whenever she got upset.
"Sh… it's ok Kallen, I'm here…" Lelouch whispered, his hand rubbing her back gently, "I'm still here…"
They stood like that for awhile, Kallen sobbing into Lelouch's shirt which quickly gained a rather large spot soaked in tears. Eventually Kallen's sobs turned into sniffles and eventually silence, both still wrapped in a warm embrace.
"Lelouch…" Kallen eventually said, voice muffled as her head was still buried in his shirt, "Can you promise me something?"
"What is it Kallen?" Lelouch asked warmly, voice soft and caring.
"Promise me that you won't leave me."
'Oh Kallen, you know I can't promise that…. Not with the path I am taking…'
A somber expression appeared on his face, "Kallen…"
He was suddenly staring into the sapphire blue eyes of Kallen, "Please…." She said, pleading and desperation both in her eyes and voice. "Promise me Lelouch…"
He sighed, knowing he couldn't say no to her, to his Kallen. "Ok Kallen, I promise…"
"Thank you…. " She said, the tension leaving her body as she relaxed into his embrace, content with the promise, even if it was forced.
They stayed like that for a few moments until they parted, Kallen still sniffling a bit.
Lelouch looked back at the corpses and he sees a familiar lime haired woman lying on the ground in front of his feet, a bullet lodged firmly in her skull.
"C.C." Lelouch muttered to himself, allowing a small smirk to appear on his face, "Hmpf, troublesome witch."
"Hey Lelouch… Do you happen to know her?" Kallen asked with a frown, "She jumped in front of you earlier saying something about how you couldn't die."
"Why Kallen, I didn't know you could be the jealous type." Lelouch replied with a cheshire cat grin.
"Wha- I am not jealous!" Kallen yelled, her face turned bright red, "I wanted to know because… because…"
"Because why, Kallen?" Lelouch asked, raising an eyebrow.
"... shut up!" She yelled before pointing an accusing finger at him, "That's not important! What is important is how you did that thing with the guards! You just told them to die and they went and did it."
Luckily he didn't have to answer that, for as soon as the words left her lips the far wall exploded, sending debris everywhere. Just as he finished speaking, the wall in front of him exploded as a Sutherland burst into the room. 'Right on time, Villetta Nu.' Lelouch thought with a cruel smirk as he placed himself between Kallen and any stray piece of flying debris.,
"You there, boy!" A familiar female voice called from inside the Sutherland, pointing the machines large rifle directly at Lelouch, "What happened here, why are Britannian students in a place like this?!"
"Just follow my lead Kallen," Lelouch whispered to the red-head before turning his attention back towards the Sutherland, "My name is Allen Spacer and this is my girlfriend, Kallen Whitford. Our father's are both of high nobility who I'm sure would reward you immensely if you were to help us."
Lelouch knew immediately what she would pick, probably before she did. It was a simple question really: Would she leave her Knightmare and potentially walk into a trap in order to attain glory for herself or would she choose the safer option; stay in her Knightmare and potentially forfeit influence and honor in the Imperial Court by refusing to help two 'supposed' Britannian nobles. Villetta, her thirst for power being both her biggest strength and weakness, would choose the first option every time. Sure enough, the cockpit of the Sutherland soon hissed open and a mocha-skinned woman with silver hair dismounted from the humanoid machine, gun drawn. Before, he had been foolish when dealing with Villetta, leaving her with some memory of himself which eventually came around to bite him in the ass. However, this time would be different as he had some rather "special" orders for Villetta…
"Stay right where you are." Villetta said coldly, "Keep your hands in the air and I'll check your ID myself."
"My ID card is in my breast pocket if that helps you." Lelouch responded matter-of-factly, "After you confirm who I am, I'll request your protection."
As she drew closer Lelouch's face twisted into a predatory grin as his left eye lit up with the power of Geass, "Follow my orders!"
Villetta suddenly stopped walking, a red glow surrounding her eyes.
"Yes your Highness!" She suddenly shouted, saluting the young prince.
'Checkmate,' Lelouch thought confidently, a small smile on his face. 'Sorry Ohgi, but it has to be done.'
"Alright Ms Nu, the first thing I need from you is your Knightmare Key and activation code. "Of course, your highness. The code is X-G-2-1-G-2-D-4"
"Thank you Villetta, you've been a great help." Lelouch said as Villetta dropped the Knightmare key into his awaiting palm. He turned to look at Kallen, who was watching the exchange with great intrigue.
"Kallen," He said, snapping her out of her concentration, "Stay here and keep an eye on Ms. Nu for me."
Lelouch climbed into Villetta's Knightmare and put the key into the ignition, booting up the Sutherlands internal systems. Lelouch input the code Villetta gave him and dozens of blue "friendly" units filled the screen. Lelouch, looking through the blue dots for a specific IFF signal that he so happened to remember form last time. Once he found it, a cruel grin appeared on his face as he proceeded to press the "call" button.
"With this, the Knight of Orange once again finds himself serving his rightful king."
Jeremiah was, for all intents and purposes, having a bad day. The day itself started out fine, as he had gotten up, gone through his daily morning routine of brushing his teeth and getting his morning cup of coffee. The day was pretty much normal up until around lunchtime when, while he was sitting in a cafe enjoying a nice plate of fish and chips, he was sent a message from HQ ordering him to rally the Purists immediately in order to pursue and apprehend a small group of terrorists who had stolen something from the military. That didn't really surprise him as he had bemoaned the current state of security in the area ever since he was stationed there many years ago, as back then and even now terrorist groups were able to steal arms and resources from Britannia's stockpiles with relative ease. This time, however, was very different as this particular heist had involved sneaking into a top secret and highly secured military complex and stealing a canister of highly toxic poison gas. Within ten minutes of the order the Purists were mobilized and dispatched in pursuit, which led them straight to the Shinjuku ghetto where the pursuit quickly devolved into the same guerrilla warfare that was common practice among the various terrorist groups in Area 11.
Of course it had to get worse as Prince Clovis soon ordered the entire ghetto liquidated and for the troops to not leave a single person left standing. He never liked the mass slaughter of innocent civilians, but these people took his lieges away from him, therefore although he didn't like it, he grit his teeth and tuned out the sounds of his subordinates laughter as they slaughtered entire Eleven families in cold blood. Now, Jeremiah found himself chasing a red one-armed Glasgow through the ghetto after having dealt with another terrorist Glasgow, only painted yellow of all things. He was slowly losing his patience with the outdated 3rd generation piece of junk. Launching his slash harkens at the eye-sore, he growled in frustration as the Glasgow jumped out of the way, causing the harkens to embed themselves harmlessly into the wall behind it.
"Why won't you just stand still and die!" Jeremiah yelled, firing a volley of bullets at the red annoyance.
The Glasgow raced further into the ghetto with Jeremiah hot on her tails, he was about to fire his rifle again but stopped himself when he noticed that there was an incoming call from Villetta. He knew that she was a capable soldier and wouldn't contact him unless it was something of utmost importance, so Jeremiah decided that he would delegate the task of fighting the terrorist knightmare to one of his subordinates.
"Kewell! The red Glasgow is headed towards your location, eliminate it!"
"Yes sir!"
Jeremiah smiled, he knew he could always count on Kewell for assistance.
He pressed the receive button on the transmitter, being met not with the mocha-skinned, silver haired Villetta, but instead with the face of a young boy with raven hair and bright violet eyes that looked somehow familiar to him.
"Who the hell are you!"
"You don't recognize me Jeremiah, I'm upset." He said with fake sadness in his voice, "What would Empress Marianne say to you? Forgetting about her son of all people."
His eyes widened, his face paled and his jaw became slack. It couldn't be, it just wasn't possible. But, the more he looked at the boy on the screen the more it became clear. The black hair, the piercing violet eyes. Truly, this was the son of Marianne the Flash.
"...Prince Lelouch..." Jeremiah said in disbelief, not believing the words were coming from his lips. This is of course caused the boy staring back at him to smile.
"That's right, Jeremiah. I believe it has been a good 7 years since the last time we talked, hasn't it?"
"M-m-my prince, you're alive!" Jeremiah shouted with joy.
"Yes I am Jeremiah, I have come back from hell to find vengeance for my mother." Lelouch replied, his voice passionate, but cold. "And I need your help, Jeremiah."
"What would you request of me, my liege?" He said, attempting to bow inside the cramped cockpit of the Sutherland, not really succeeding and instead looking quite awkward.
"Jeremiah, I am sending you a set of coordinates now, I will be waiting for you there, don't disappoint me."
"Of course my prince, I will be there as soon as possible."
At that the call was terminated and in the middle of the black screen there were a set of coordinates on it which Jeremiah dutifully entered into the Sutherland's GPS, which was followed by a red dot appearing on his radar screen.
'Please wait for me, my prince,' Jeremiah thought to himself, moving his Knightmare towards the marked point on his battle map, 'I am coming.'
Lelouch booted down the Knightmare frame, pocketed the key, opened the cockpit hatch and climbed down back to the blood-stained floor of the warehouse where both Villetta and Kallen were waiting for him, leaning against the Sutherland's leg.
"So Kallen, I do believe I owe you an explanation for everything that's been happening, huh?"
"That's the understatement of the century there Lelouch!" Kallen exclaimed in exasperation, apparently having tried to get the attention of Viletta without any success for the past few minutes, which was getting her frustrated, "I am so confused and frustrated that I am about to go insane if you don't explain to me how you are able to make people do what you say, who that woman behind us is, and what exactly your plan is to get us out of here safe and sound!"
"Alright then Kallen, I guess I should start from the beginning then…"
Lelouch then told Kallen everything, how the woman behind them was an immortal witch named C.C.. How she granted him the power of Geass, specifically the power of Absolute Obedience. He explained how it worked, what its limitations were, what it allowed him to do to others and, most importantly, how exactly that affected their escape plan from the Shinjuku Ghetto and his future endeavors.
"So after hearing all that; how are you feeling Kallen?" Lelouch asked, his arms crossed as he leaned against the leg of the Sutherland.
"I mean, I'm feeling about as well as someone who just figured out that her boyfriend was granted a great mystical power to mind control people at will." Kallen said rather dryly.
"So, after hearing about the mystical power I have and what I plan to do with it, the real question now becomes whether or not you will decide to join me in my quest to destroy Britannia."
Kallen frowned at him, "Lelouch, do you really think you have to ask me that?" She walked up to him and cupped his cheek lovingly, "I already made a promise to you, myself, and to the memories of my loved ones that have since past that I would follow you, even if that requires going to the depths of hell itself. I couldn't possibly live with myself if I didn't follow you on your path of vengeance. Count me in Lelouch."
"Thank you Kallen," Lelouch said, a genuine and gentle smile on his face, "You don't know how much that means to me."
"I have a good idea," Kallen replied, smiling back, "Besides, I've always wanted to smash some Britannian skulls in for what they did to me and my family. With some obvious exceptions, of course."
"Appreciated." Lelounch responded, giving her a nod of gratitude, "Now that explanations are out of the way, I do believe it is about time I took care of Ms. Nu."
He walked back over to Villetta, red rings still shining brightly around her irises. "Listen to me very carefully. You will leave this warehouse, leave the Shinjuku Ghetto and forget ever seeing me as well as any details of our interaction. You will continue going about your daily life until you hear me speak the code-word "Congratulations" then you will revert back to serving me until I say the words "Happy Birthday."
"Yes, your highness!" She once more shouted before she obediently walked out of the warehouse, the red rings around her eyes beginning to waver.
Coincidentally as soon as she left Jeremiah arrived, the man quickly dismounting his Sutherland and kneeling before him.
"My Prince… I am filled with the greatest of joys of being allowed to once again lay eyes upon my liege."
"It is good to see you after 7 years, my old friend."
Jeremiah looked up at Lelouch, a smile on his face and a few fresh tears were flowing down his cheeks.
"My prince, my heart was filled with great sorrow when I heard that you were killed in the invasion of Japan. However, I must ask you to relive those terrible memories so that your humble servant may know how you have survived."
"Jeremiah," Lelouch said, a serious look now positioned on his face, "The news of my death was greatly exaggerated. In fact, if it wasn't for the help of the Japanese people that you and your ilk have wantonly slaughtered, I would have been murdered by the OSI agents sent by my father."
Jeremiah's face went white with the realization. His greatest failure in protecting Empress Marianne had been a stain on his honor for seven long years. Now that failure has now compounded by the realization that his anger towards the Japanese had been entirely misplaced, for they had been protecting his liege all this time while he had been committing crimes against them in the name of vengeance. His honor was to be forever tarnished and stained by these transgressions.
"Do you not have anything to say for yourself Jeremiah? Do you not want to beg for your forgiveness in both the eyes of the crown and of god?"
"My prince…" Jeremiah began, beginning to choke on his words as he spoke, "My sins are too great to be forgiven, for I have done a great evil against both you and the people of Japan. The fate of my life is to be decided by your will."
"Well then, that makes my job a lot easier," Lelouch said in a monotone voice, "Jeremiah Gottwald, for the failure to protect my mother, Marianne vi Britannia and your multiple crimes committed against the Japanese people, I, Lelouch vi Britannia, hereby sentence you to death. Give me your sword Margrave."
Jeremiah wordlessly implied, detaching the sheath from his waist and offering it to the prince. Who took it and unsheathed the blade from its scabbard. At least, if Jeremiah was going to die, it was going to be done by the son of Marianne the Flash, the person who most deserved to carry out his punishment. What he wasn't expecting what was to happen next.
"Margrave Jeremiah Gottwald. Wilt thou, upon this day, pledge thy fealty to Lelouch vi Britannia, and stand as a Knight of the Crown?"
His eyes widened in shock, these were the words used in the knighting ceremony! He could hardly believe his ears as his mind went blank and he numbly replied "Yes, your highness."
"Does thou wish to abandon thyself, and be sword and shield for the sake of the greater good?"
"Yes, your highness."
Lelouch tapped each of Jeremiah's shoulders with his sword.
"Then I, 11th Prince Lelouch vi Britannia, do hereby dub thee Jeremiah Gottwald, my Knight of Orange. May your courage and devotion in pursuit of your liege's goals become a shining example to people of every race, creed, and position."
Jeremiah was still in shock about what just happened. Wasn't he supposed to be punished for his crimes, not rewarded!
"My prince, why would you not punish me like I so desperately deserve."
"Jeremiah, this is your punishment." Lelouch said, his voice cold, "You will die Jeremiah. However, you will die in service to me. Every waking moment of your life will be dedicated to carrying out my will. That is your punishment."
Tears began to form in Jeremiah's eyes. Truly, he was given a second chance to serve the vi Britannia line once more and repent his sins.
"Yes, your highness!"
"I'm glad to hear that." Lelouch said, a cruel grin spreading across his face, "I have a task for you, my newly dubbed Knight of Orange."
"Whatever you ask I shall do, my prince."
"I need you to lend us your knightmare. I want my female compatriot here to pilot it." He said, motioning to Kallen."
"Of course my prince." Jeremiah dutifully replied, going over to a now shocked Kallen and placed the key into her hand. "Just out of curiosity your highness, can she pilot a knightmare?"
"Nope. She has no experience ever piloting a knightmare." Lelouch said with a deadpan expression.
"But your highness, surely it would be foolhardy to let someone with no knightmare experience pilot such a machine!" Jeremiah protested, only to receive a cold glare from Lelouch.
"Jeremiah! I do think I know what I'm talking about." Lelouch then gently smiled, "Especially when it comes to my girlfriend."
Both Jeremiah and Kallen's faces turned red in embarrassment. "L-Lelouch/M-my Prince!?" They both said at the same time.
"Yes Jeremiah, you heard me right. This is my girlfriend, Kallen Akaibara."
Jeremiah was quick on the uptake and quickly bowed to her, "I apologize for my disrespectful attitude, Lady Kallen. I didn't realize you were in a relationship with my prince."
"Uh...it's fine Jeremiah." Kallen stammered, completely at a loss for what was happening.
"Thank you Lady Kallen, I am humbled by your forgiveness." Jeremiah replied, once again with a bow, "Speaking of women, where did Lieutenant Nu go?"
"Ah Lieutenant Nu. I sent her off on a special mission, Jeremiah." Lelouch said with a dismissive attitude, "One thing to note is that she will pretend to not having seen me, as is the nature of her mission. Treat her as if nothing is different between you two."
"As you wish,my prince." Jeremiah replied with a crisp salute, "Anything else you would like me to do?"
"Yes, I'm going to give you the number of a burner phone I possess. I want you to call me when you get the chance so I can give you further instructions."
"Understood, your highness! I eagerly await your next instructions!" Jeremiah said as he took the piece of paper from Lelouch.
"Fantastic. Well Kallen, lets go. We have kept our guest waiting far too long." Lelouch said as he gestured towards Jeremiah's Knightmare, to which Kallen just nodded and entered the frame.
Lelouch went over to C.C.'s body and, picking it up, brought her inside the Sutherland with him and placed her on his lap, as it was the only possible way to be able to effectively drive the knightmare with only slight difficulty.
He decided that he would take C.C. along for three reasons. First was that once her head wound healed(which would be relatively soon, judging by the fact that there was no longer a bullet lodged in her skull) she would be able to get off his lap and arrange herself in a manner that would not interfere with the operation of the knightmare frame. Second was that it would be a hell of a lot more convenient if she was with him the entire time rather than her just popping up out of nowhere and causing a ruckus. Third, she had a pretty big bone to pick with Clovis, and he wasn't going to stop her in the slightest. He almost felt bad for the poor prince, keyword being almost. He brought this upon himself.
"How are you doing Kallen?" Lelouch asked over a closed radio link between the two knightmares.
"I'm fine. I think I have the basic controls down well enough."
"Fantastic, then let's get going." Lelouch said as he sped off into the ghetto, Kallen following closely behind.
Lelouch drove to the same vantage spot that he had last time only a couple of blocks away from the warehouse, using the Sutherland's slash harkens in order to scale the building and nuzzle the 7 ton machine into the giant hole that had been blasted into the building previously. Kallen soon joined him, getting the hang of piloting a knightmare rather easily, just like he knew she would. Pretty soon, a red one-armed Glasgow came speeding around the corner, pursued by two Sutherlands. Lelouch had time to think about this before he ended up dropping into this world. Logically, in the universe matter cannot be created or destroyed at will, so that means that in order to cover up the fact that Kallen would no longer technically exist in this world, God and his Angels needed to create a brand new person in order to take her spot, so that there would not be any substantial destabilization of the universe take would take effect.
Of course, this new pilot was a wild card that he would have to take a risk with. He knew nothing about them, and that was what worried him. But, there was nothing that could be done about that for the moment and so he picked up the radio that he had snatched from the new deceased terrorist driver and decided to take a risk.
Seventeen year old Becky Fitzgerald was having a very bad day… no, scratch that… the WORST DAY OF HER F**KING LIFE! It was going pretty good all things considered, they had just snuck into a highly secured and secret Britannian testing facility in order to steal one of Prince Clovis's secret pet projects, but that loud mouth bumbling idiot Tamaki ended up derailing the whole plan! The alarms, now thoroughly sounded, forced them to flee with their precious cargo which then led to a pursuit from Jeremiah "My hair is so goddamn perfect" Gottwald and his bunch of Britannian Purity closeted c**k-suckers! She and her older sister Chloe were launched in our knightmare frames in order to hopefully hold them off so that our comrades could make a clean getaway, but from there she didn't know what happened to Nagata, probably ended up getting himself killed judged by the explosion she heard earlier. Of course, that was the least of her problems as not only had her sister's knightmare been disabled from a lucky strike from those Purist basterds, but they had also apparently encircled the entire ghetto, keeping anyone from escaping it in one piece. So now, as she fled from the two Purist knightmares hot on her tail in pursuit, she couldn't help but wonder where exactly everything went wrong… nope, scratch that, it was Tamaki. It's always f**king Tamaki.
'Well,' She thought with grim realism, 'I've only got 30 minutes left. If I'm going to die then I'm at least going to die in style…'
Luckily she wouldn't have to as her radio soon burst to life as soon as she thought that.
"The west entrance!" The obviously male voice sounded through the radio.
"Who is this! How the ever loving hell did you get this code!? Are you another radio-marketer!?" Becky shouted back at the voice, quite irritable at this point. She had told both Chloe and Ohgi to change the damn radio frequency they used, as they kept getting damn radio commercials from the black market ever so often. If it was a radio-marketer, now was not the BEST TIME TO RADIO THEM!
"Radio-marketer? Wha- nevermind. Who I am doesn't matter. What does matter though is that if you want to win then you will follow my instructions. Now take the west entrance and hop onto the tracks."
"Eh? Win? That is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've heard all day!" Becky said with a snort. That sounded like something out of a children's fairytale at this point. But she would be lying to herself if she said she wasn't intrigued. Afterall, although it seemed like a fairytale, they sometimes came true, right?
She took a few moments of contemplation before deciding, f**k it, she liked winning, and jumped onto the train tracks… right in front of an oncoming train… great….
"Since you trusted me you're going to win. Now jump onto the train."
'You know what mother always said, in for a penny, in for a pound.' Becky thought as she jumped up onto the train, scrapping the knightmare's foot against the top of the train.
Luckily it wasn't all bad, as the lead Sutherland had to halt its advance and stop the heavy locomotive. The lead Sutherland then sent his cronie on me in pursuit. However, as the knightmare jumped up into the air two slash harkens smashed into it, causing the pilot to eject and the remains to fall harmlessly off the overpass. Both the lead Sutherland and Becky turned themselves to see the source of the sudden slash harkens, which ended up being another Sutherland. It seemed the two frames had a small chat before the Sutherland perched upon a ruined building open fire and disabled the lead frame. Becky, knowing when not to waste an opportunity, charged the damaged frame, which caused the pilot to eject and to be sent soaring into the ghetto far beyond their reach.
"Well I'll be damned! You actually saved me!" Becky said, a look of both surprise and awe on her face. "But my real question here is how you manage to get a hold of a Sutherland?"
But the mysterious stranger was already gone, leaving no trace of his existence other than two ruined Sutherland frames.
"Huh…"
"Sister! Are you OK!?" The voice of her fearless leader and overprotective sister, Chloe, screamed through the comms.
"Yes, I'm fine 'mom'." Becky replied with an eyeroll, "You really need to stop worrying about me! I'm a big girl now and can take care of myself!"
"I can't help it! It's not like I have any other family to worry about!"
"But I'm fine! In fact, I should be worrying about you, since you are clearly able to be beaten by a simple Purist lapdog!"
"Why you!"
Luckily, Ohgi arrived before they could get any further sidetracked and snapped them both back into reality. "Stop it! Can't you see that we are in the middle of a battle! Honestly you two act more like children than resistance leaders sometimes!"
Becky flushed, and she assumed Chloe did too as it wasn't often that they got yelled at by Ohgi. "Sorry, Ohgi-sama. We got a bit sidetracked. Back to the matter at hand, did you also hear that guy over the radio as well?"
"Yeah we did."
The radio on Ohgi's waist then suddenly sparked to life.
"Are you the leader of the resistance?"
Ohgi looked a bit startled and uncomfortable.
"Uh… no. I'm not. I'll pass you over to her though." Ohgi then passed the radio over to Chloe, "It's for you."
"Thanks captain obvious." Chloe said, rolling her eyes as she took the radio, cheeks still flush with embarrassment, "I'm the leader of this resistance cell."
"Then I implore you to look inside the freight cars. They will be the tools of your victory."
"What do you me-" Chloe began, but was stopped by Tamaki and Yoshida, who was yelling at her to check out the contents of the train, when she did her mouth dropped open in shock as the whole train ended up being filled to the brim with brand new fresh out of the factory Sutherlands.
"Holy..."
"Man, there's tons of 'em!"
"How the heck did he get this many?!"
"I dunno who this guy is, but I'm liking him already!"
Becky couldn't help but agree. 'Whoever he is, he's brilliant!' she thought in amazement, staring at the Sutherlands in awe. 'Not only did he save me, but he also manages to give us a fighting chance against Britannia! Who is this guy? Is he with the Japan Liberation Front?'
"Woman in the red Glasgow."
"Yes!" She eagerly replied, excited for her next instructions.
"Stay where you are. Your unit's gonna run decoy. You got that?"
Becky frowned. That is not something she wanted to hear. She REALLY wanted to try out one of those Sutherlands that they were going to "borrow" from the Britannians. But, if he was able to get them this many knightmares he must know what the hell he was doing, "...Fine."
"Good. Energy filler status?"
Becky looked down at the display and relayed the proper information, "15 minutes.
"Then recharge it! As for the rest of you, I will be contacting you in about 10 minutes. If you want to not only survive this battle, but win it, then you must follow my orders to the letter!"
"Hold on a second!" Her sister shouted, "First things first, I need to say thank you for saving my sister, I appreciate it. Second, we don't even know who you are! Are you with the JLF by any chance?"
"No, I am not, nor am I working with any other resistance group."
'A newcomer huh? Interesting…" Becky thought, making sure to remember that particular piece of info for future reference.
"Well that's all fine and dandy, but what's your name?"
As usual, it was Tamaki who said the obvious, small brained nitwit that he was he probably already forgot their previous conversation. I think it was about time she reminded him.
"Hey Tamaki! I don't know if you heard our conversation earlier, but he said…"
"Zero. That is what you shall call me. I don't want my identity to be known just in case the Britannians are tapping our communications. With your help, I shall deliver to you and the people of Japan a miracle!"
Lelouch had to admit; he rather missed the stuffy and stale air of the cockpit of a Knightmare, even if it wasn't his beloved Shinkiro. The controls were easy to remember, and the feeling of watching a machine blow up in front of him further increased the nostalgia factor for him. He no longer needed to guess possible outcomes and variables; he knew the battlefield inside and out with the skill of a hardened general, which, to an extent, he was. He supposed it was one of the many perks to having a photographic memory, one that had saved him on the battlefield many times over in the past.
"Then again… not everything is the same as last time…"
Lelouch's pursed his lips in thought, his brow creasing into a thin line.
"Yes, not everything is the same, especially those two females. They're wild cards and unpredictable. I'll need to keep a close eye on them in the future, especially the one with short hair…"
He scowled. She was one wild card that he didn't want to have to deal with. With her as the head of the Shinjuku resistance cell he would have to change how he would approach the group in the future. He would need to find a way to draw her to his side and ensure her loyalty, or else his entire second chance may fall apart and he would have to start from the ground up again. He assumed that At least the girl in Glasgow was easy to figure out, just a more temperamental and extreme version of Kallen, fiercely loyal but quick to anger. She should be swayed easily.
Suddenly, a thought popped into his mind.
"Wait, isn't she her sister?" Lelouch asked himself quietly, soon his face becoming engulfed in a predatory grin as a plan came together in his mind. If he couldn't confront her directly, then he would aim for the sister, and once the sister was aboard the sibling was sure to follow! With his plan on how to deal with the unexpected variable set, it was time that he focused on the other troublesome matter that would plague him in the very near future, the Lancelot….
"Since I know Suzaku's fighting patterns, I should be able to just cut through his patterns and take down the Lancelot easy enough. But if I do that then there is a chance that he won't be able to become Euphy's knight. I know that regardless of whether Suzaku won or lost this battle Euphy would still choose him as her knight. However, Cornelia is a different story. If he loses here today, she will have the excuse needed to reject his appointment, citing this battle to show that he wouldn't be able to completely protect her sister."
He frowned. There was only one option that would allow for all future objects to be met, and that was the option that was least appealing. As much as he hated it, he would have to let the Lancelot decimate his forces a second time so that the script could continue on unimpeded. Luckily for him, there was a rather convenient way for him to gain a material victory from this battle. He would split his forces in half, with half needing to be sacrificed for Suzaku's sake while the other half would retreat and stow away their commandeered Knightmares for future use. This plan would have the benefit of allowing Suzaku to prove himself in battle while also giving him access to a handful of extra knightmare frames which will end up proving useful against his future battles with Cornelia. A small grin appeared on Lelouch's face. Yes, Suzaku would not suffer the same fate as in the previous timeline. They were still friends after all and, if Lelouch was being honest with himself, Euphy and Suzaku did make a rather cute couple.
"Well, at least I'll be able to give Kallen some good practice piloting a knightmare," He said absentmindedly, a small chuckle escaping his throat.
"You know, you have a bad habit of speaking out your thoughts."
Lelouch smiled inwardly as he looked over his shoulder to see C.C. staring at him, the blood missing from her forehead. He noticed a small red smirch along the left sleeve of her prison uniform, "Welcome to the land of the living."
"Why did you save me?"
Lelouch frowned. Her tone of voice was exactly how it was before and during the events of the Black Rebellion, emotionless and close to apathy. He had rather missed her teasing and mature nature from when he resumed his role as Zero. However, he didn't have the luxury of just being able to awaken the memories of a past life, now did he. No, he would first have to gain her trust and build their relationship back to the point it was at when he progress started with how he answered the question she just asked him.
"Well, it's not everyday that you meet someone who can grant mystical powers and also happens to be immortal." Lelouch replied matter of factly, "Plus, I have a feeling that you would want to get back at my half-brother Clovis for the hell he decided to put you through."
C.C.'s face darkened at the mention of his half-brothers name and Lelouch involuntarily gulped at the deadly aura she was giving off. He really felt bad for whatever hell C.C. was going to put him through before she killed him.
"Well, well, well, boya. You've surprised me with your thoughtfulness." C.C. said with a dark chuckle, "I think I'll take you up on your offer of accompanying you to your less than touching family reunion."
"It's the least I could do in exchange for you giving me this incredible power." Lelouch said, returning to the battle map, "By the way, what should I be calling you? I can't just call you an immortal witch, now can I?"
"It's C.C." HIs accomplice replied, the monotone and uncaring voice now returning.
"C.C. huh? Interesting." A cruel grin spread across Lelouch's face, "Well C.C., I do believe it is time to give Clovis the first of many spankings he will receive in the next couple of hours."
'Prepare yourself, Britannia,' Lelouch thought evilly, 'The demon has returned to reduce everything you ever knew to rubble, and this is the opening salvo!'
Suzaku had awoken in a cream colored room with a man with lavender hair and a white lab coat hovering over him. He soon found himself completely perplexed and frustrated. His new employers, Lloyd Asplund and Cecile Croomy had brought him back after being shot by the royal guardsman. Luckily, his father's pocket watch had ended stopping the bullet, which only left him with a severe ache in his back instead of a bullet hole. He then asked about the current battlefield situation, only to learn that there had been massive casualties amongst the Elevens caused by the terrorists releasing the stolen poison gas. Of course, he knew that the massive casualties weren't due to poison gas, but the point still stood in his opinion.
'If only they hadn't fought back against Britannia!' Suzaku thought in anger, 'There wouldn't have been such a senseless slaughter!'
Of course, Suzaku knew he couldn't dwell on these feelings as he needed to direct his focus on stopping the terrorists and saving his best friend Lelouch, who he prayed was still alive in the ghetto.
'Lelouch… please still be alive!' Suzaku desperately thought as he climbed the ladder into his new assigned knightmare frame, the Lancelot. He was honestly surprised that he was being given the chance to pilot this machine, which he understood as being the first seventh-generation knightmare frame ever created. Of course, it was rather unceremonious how he got the position, with Lloyd telling him of his new assignment and Cecile giving him an instruction manual the size of a phone book and asking to skim through it so he could at least be familiar with the nightmare before he started piloting it. Now, as Suzaku sat in the cockpit of the seventh generation machine, he couldn't help but wonder if this was his chance to finally climb up the ranks and prove that Britannia could be changed from the inside. If it was he had to give it his all, and prove that Honorary Britannians could be as good as Britannians and should be treated with the same respect and dignity.
"Lancelot, Launch!"
Even though Suzaku had braced for the sudden acceleration, it still flung him back into his seat as he zoomed into the ghetto. Suzaku eventually got a handle on the controls and slowed the knightmare, thoroughly impressed about how well the Lancelot handled.
'With this,' Suzaku thought, a small smile creeping across his face, 'I can change the world.'
Suzaku jumped out of the way of two slash harkens as they soared in front of him and impaled themselves in an adjacent wall. Suzaku turned his knightmare to face his opponent and saw a terrorist Sutherland, it's rifle pointed at him. Suzaku dashed towards the enemy Sutherland and, drawing one of his machines Master Vibration Swords (MVS) he swung it at the enemy knightmare. The enemy unit wasn't fast enough to dodge that attack and was cut in half by Lancelot's MVS, which cut through the Sutherland's armor like butter.
The pilot of the now destroyed Sutherland had ejected into the ghetto before the sword could cleave him in two, leaving behind a shocked Suzaku who was in awe over the frames sheer power and also glad that the pilot was able to escape unharmed. Gunfire came from the ruined buildings to the left and right of him, causing Suzaku to activate the Blaze Luminous Shielding so that he could see where the enemy were firing from. He pinpointed the fire as coming from nightmares hiding on the fifth floor of two ruined skyscrapers. He launched himself into the air and took both out enemy nightmares at the same time by running them through with the Lancelot's MVS the Lancelot landed a slash harken flew by the Lancelot from behind and impaled the ground.
'A little too close for comfort,' Suzaku thought, happy the slash harken didn't hit the Lancelot, who knew what Lloyd would do to him if his 'baby' was damaged, 'I'll have to be more careful.'
Suzaku quickly dispatched the knightmare by firing a round from his VARIS rifle, which obliterated the enemy machine, luckily still allowing the pilot to eject.
'If I can stop all the Knightmares, then this battle is over.
No matter what it takes, I've gotta save Lelouch and that girl.' Suzaku thought as he raced further into the ghetto to engage further with enemy units, but was soon stopped by rifle fire coming from a nearby building behind him, missing the Lancelot only because of the speed the knightmare was going. Suzaku whirled the machine around to see another terrorist Sutherland perched in an old office building, its rifle smoking. This one was different than the others though, as this particular knightmare frame had a maroon colored forehead and maroon colored shoulder pads.
'This is obviously the leader,' Suzaku thought, rolling his eyes at his own assumption, 'If I can knock him out, then the battle can end!'
'Suzaku sure likes to start battles out with a bang huh?' Lelouch thought in annoyance as he quickly raised his knightmare's left arm, blocking the roundhouse kick that Suzaku sent his way. This probably wasn't the best move though, as it had the negative side effect of disabling the use of the stun-tonfa for that particular arm. Lelouch was quick to respond by activating the right arms stun tonfa and striking at the Lancelot's side, which was blocked by the Blaze Luminous shielding. Lelouch immediately followed this up by sending a punch towards the Lancelot's chest, which of course was blocked by Suzaku's other blaze luminous shielding. However, the goal was to push the Lancelot back onto unstable ground, which he succeeded at as Suzaku's knightmare ended up falling through the floor.
"Comeon Kallen, let's go!" Lelouch shouted as he jumped from the building, Kallen following close behind.
"Running away boya?" C.C. commented dryly.
"But of course. I'm not trying to defeat that frame, just stall it long enough to allow for the retreat of B Group from the battlefield."
They didn't make it far before the Lancelot was upon them again, the white menace firing its VARIS rifle at Lelouch's back, which he was only able to dodge thanks to his quick reaction time.
"Kallen! Your turn!" Lelouch shouted over the radio, to which he was awarded a short confirmation as Kallen jumped into the fray, startling the Lancelot with an attempted kick to the head, which, although unexpected, was easily dodged and counter-attacked.
"B group, what your status?" Lelouch asked over the handheld radio, to which the same feminine voice from earlier answered.
"We just got done hiding the captured Sutherlands in the sewer tunnels like you asked, Zero."
"Good. Your part in this battle is now finished. I will take care of the rest."
"Thanks. Good luck, Zero."
It was then that the radio went silent, which allowed Lelouch to turn his attention back to how Kallen was doing, which was pretty well. She was holding her own about as well as someone who has never piloted a knightmare could, and by that he meant barely. The only thing that kept saving her was the incredible reaction time that she had due to her being a knightmare ace. Of course, she evidently made a mistake when she attempted to counter the Lancelot's MVS blade with her knightmares stun tonfa, which was very ineffective as the MVS blade simply cut through the stun tonfa and ended up severing the right arm of the Sutherland. Immediately afterwards the second arm was removed and Kallen was forced to eject. Lelouch hopped back into the fray, aiming to at least do some damage to the Lancelot that would stun him long enough to allow him to escape.
Lelouch braced himself to block another heavy-hitting punch from the Lancelot, but luckily he didn't have to as the same one-armed Glasgow from earlier launched a single punch towards the Lancelot, which stopped the machine in its tracks.
"I'm returning the favor!" Now go!"
Lelouch didn't need to be told twice as he drove off, heading over to Kallens cockpit and scoping it up with his left arm.
He knew the Lancelot would soon be chasing after him again, as even in the original timeline Kallen wasn't able to buy that much time. Sure enough, the Lancelot soon shot around the corner in hot pursuit, gaining fast as Lelouch's speed was greatly reduced due to the added weight of carrying another cockpit. Thinking quickly, Lelouch equipped his Stun Tonfa and prepared to do something very reckless. He would only have one shot at this and if he failed, there was a strong possibility that this second chance at life would be wasted. Lelouch braced himself as he forced the Sutherland into the air, doing a backflip and landing behind the Lancelot. However he overestimated the jump and landed too far behind the Lancelot to use the stun tonfa, but luckily he was still in range to use his slash harkens. Before Suzaku could counter Lelouch launched the Sutherland's two slash harkens, both making contact with the seventh-generation frame, with one harken striking the head of the unit while the other, flying wildly off course, struck a land spinner. This caused the seventh-generation machine to tumble to the ground, having lost the forward momentum in his left leg. Lelouch quickly sped off into the ghetto, finally able to end the game of cat and mouse that, in his opinion, had gone on for far too long.
Llyod and Cecile stared at the screen in disbelief with wide eyes as the Lancelot tumbled to the ground.
"Cecile," Llyod said, stunned about what he just witnessed, "Please tell me I'm seeing things. Did that Sutherland actually manage to hit my Lancelot?"
Cecile gulped, knowing exactly how overprotective Lloyd was of his inventions, was not forward to his reaction. "I'm afraid your eyes aren't deceiving you Lloyd. Although the good news is that the damage to the frame is rather minimal, but the land spinner is inoperational. I must say though, those were quite the impressive acrobatics. I've never seen a Sutherland do a backflip before. The terrorists must have one heck of a pilot if they were able to hit the Lancelot with a Knightmare that, for all intent and purposes, outclassed it every regard."
"I don't think it had anything to do with skill Cecile, but rather the pilot knowing my dear Lancelot's weaknesses and exploiting them to the fullest. What I want to know is HOW HE GOT HIS HANDS ON MY BLUEPRINTS!" Lloyd screamed, beginning to rant, "MY LANCELOT WAS HURT BY A NO GOOD BLUEPRINT THIEF!"
"But Lloyd, how could they get ahold of the Lancelot blueprints if the only copy in existence never left your side." Cecile asked, quite puzzled.
"I don't know Cecile! But I do know one thing; I need that knightmare pilot!" Lloyd said, stars in his eyes, "If he truly could memorize all the aspects of my child in order to exploit it's weak points, could you imagine how good they would be if we put them in a knightmare that was controlled by analytical thought! They would be unstoppable!"
Cecile sweatdropped at her partners comments, "It's too bad that they're a terrorist though…"
"Yes, it's a shame really." Lloyd replied, a grin now plastered on his face, "We wouldn't be able to properly study him before he's executed for treason! Why must the world be so unfair to science!"
"Lloyd! How could you say that! Were talking about living people here!" Cecile shouted in indignation, grabbing a newspaper and hitting Lloyd over the head with it.
"Ow! OW! Okay I yield! I promise I'll try to be more sensitive in the future!" Lloyd shouted, which stopped the torrent of blows from Cecile.
"Good! I'm glad!" Cecile replied happily, "I think that in order to celebrate your achievement I'll go bake some cookies.
Lloyd's face turned green at the thought. Cecile's cooking wasn't the greatest, but he couldn't break her heart by telling her that. As soon as Cecile was out of the room Lloyd straightened out his back and set the lab screen to replay one particular moment. The one where an outclassed Sutherland managed to inflict damage upon one of the most advanced machines the world has ever seen.
Lloyd wasn't loyal to Britannia. His loyalty lied in science and nothing else. Quite honestly he didn't care for Britannia but the only thing stopping him from help either the Chinese Federation or the E.U. were 3 simple things: He was nobility and that definitely had his perks, Britannia was the only nation willing to shell out billions of pounds in order for him to make his children a reality and finally… HE REFUSED TO WORK WITH RAKSHATA CHAWLA! HE WOULD NEVER FORGIVE HER FOR WHAT SHE DID TO HIS BLESSED PUDDING! But that's besides the point...
Lloyd was definitely interested in that knightmare pilot, for not only were they able to get their hands on the Lancelot's blueprints, but they were also able to find the smallest of flaws in his design and capitalize on it. Lloyd knew that the person was not a very good pilot, but he made up for it with pure brilliance. It truly took the mind of a genius to do what he did and Lloyd was very intrigued. He wanted to recruit him and work side by side with him! He could only dream about what types of perfect inventions they would be able to create!
Honestly, Lloyd didn't give a flying f**k if the pilot was a terrorist or not. He certainly didn't give a damn about what Britannia thought of him employing a terrorist. Worse case scenario he could just abandon Britannia altogether and join his target's terrorist group, he didn't care. The only thing he would need to figure out is how to get funding...You know what, forget leaving Britannia, he wanted his damn funding! Regardless, Lloyds secondary goal besides developing his baby was to figure out the identity of the mysterious terrorist pilot. For now though Lloyd would bide his time, he always got his way eventually….
The battle, in Lelouch's opinion, had gone a lot better the second time. Again Clovis and his men came in expecting an easy massacre of defenseless Japanese and once again he had been totally unprepared to take on an opponent that was equally equipped as his own. The force of Sutherlands combined with Lelouch's outstanding intellect had easily pushed Clovis into a corner and once again his idiotic half-brother broke the encirclement surrounding the ghetto, giving Lelouch a path straight to his half-brother's command vehicle, where he was now going accompanied by both Kallen and C.C.
Lelouch in all truth was thrilled. He had crushed Britannia in a humiliating defeat and Kallen was able to get some experience in combating a knightmare. She would be fighting on par with Suzaku in no time, judging by how quickly she got the hang of the Sutherland controls. However, his victory was not yet complete, as there was one more thing left to do….
"Halt!" The guard at the checkpoint yelled, "You are approaching his majesty Prince Clovis's personal transport! Identify yourself as well as your comrades and state your business!"
Lelouch removed his helmet and smiled as he activated his geass and replied to the guard.
"Of course sir. I have some very important to discuss with Prince Clovis personally and I want you to escort me to him at once."
"Of course your highness, right this way please."
Lelouch allowed his geassed thrall to lead him through the halls of the personal transport, only stopping to geass anyone who saw him to forget about him and leave the transport. Both Kallen and C.C. were accompanying him inside the G-1, as both would have a very special task in regards to his "special" meeting with Clovis. Finally after a few minutes of walking they came to a set of double doors that Lelouch knew led to the command center of the G-1.
"That will be all soldier. You may return to your post now."
The soldier gave a stiff salute before walking back into the maze of corridors known as the G-1.
Lelouch had Kallen and C.C. wait outside the command center as he wanted to go in first. Nobody really noticed Lelouch's entrance into the command center at first. General Bartely was barking orders in a desperate attempt to salvage a now unsalvageable operation. Clovis sat on his throne, bored out of his mind not even attempting to stop the massacre. This just sealed the fate for half-brother.
Lelouch fired a gunshot at the ceiling startling everyone in the room. Lelouch walked to the center and stood with his back towards Clovis.
"Who the hell are you!" General Bartely snapped, regaining his composure, "This is a restricted area-"
"Everyone leave!" Lelouch ordered, not letting Bartely finish airing his sentiments. All of the people in the command centers, with the exception of Prince Clovis, gain red rings around their irises and immediately started making their way towards the exits, completely ignoring Prince Clovis's protests. "Bartley? Guards!? Where the devil are you all going!? How dare you ignore me! A prince of Britannia! I order all of you-!" The words died in Clovis's throat as he saw that the masked stranger was holding a gun which was pointed at him.
"Now now your highness," Lelouch taunted, smirking under his helmet, "Losing your temper is unsightly for a prince of Britannia."
Clovis paled, "W-who the hell are you?"
"I'll tell you, but first I need you to do something for me," Lelouch replied calmly as tossed a microphone to Clovis, who instinctively caught it.
"Order a ceasefire. Tell your men to fall back and treat the wounded. Japanese as well."
"Elevens? Why on Earth would you-"
The protest died in his throat as Lelouch pulled the hammer back on the pistol. "Do it, your highness."
With that simple order Clovis brought the microphone to his lips,
"All forces ceasefire at once ! I, Prince Clovis La Britannia command you to stop this violence at once! All Britannian forces are ordered to withdraw and treat the wounded, whether they be Britannians or Elevens!"
Although his half-brother was a very poor tactician, no one could deny that Clovis was an excellent public speaker. He didn't have a hint of fear on his features as he followed Lelouch's orders. Strangely enough, it seemed to restore some of Clovis's confidence in the process.
"So," he said jokingly, "Now that that's taken care of, what would you have me do now? Sing a few lively ballads, or perhaps a nice game of chess?"
Lelouch chuckled and tossed off his helmet and tossed it aside. Everything was working out just like last time.
"Now that's an idea," Lelouch said as he walked towards the throne and into the light, "We used to play chess together quite often back at the Ares Villa. But I would always win our games. Don't you remember... Brother?" he finished as he walked completely out of the darkness.
Clovis's eyes grew wide and his mouth dropped open as he looked at Lelouch.
"L-lelouch?!" He stammered, his eyes looking like they were going to pop out of his head, "Is it really you!?"
Lelouch kneeled in front of his half-brother, his smile growing wider, "Yes, big brother, I have returned from the depths of hell... returned to change everything."
Clovis just set in his throne for a moment, utterly awestruck. Then his face lit up in an expression of pure joy.
"I'm so glad you're alive!" He shouted joyfully, not caring that his half-brother had a gun pointed at him, "I've always held out hope that you and Nunnally were alive and now your here in front of me! Oh please Lelouch, come back to the homeland with me!"
Lelouch gritted his teeth. His half-brother seemed generally happy that he was alive and didn't even care that he had a gun pointed at him.
"I'm afraid I can't do that brother." Lelouch replied coldly, "Not after what I saw what you did here today."
"What do you mean, Lelouch?" Clovis asked, the smile dropping from his face.
"I'm talking about all of this destruction Clovis!" Lelouch snapped, causing Clovis to flinch back in his throne, "The wanton destruction! The slaughter of innocence!"
"But Lelouch!" Clovis argued, "Terrorists stole a very dangerous canister from me that was filled with poison gas! If Father found out about it, he would disinherit me!"
"And that gives you the right to kill innocent people! You disgust me Clovis!" Lelouch struck a thinking pose, "By the way, would this capsule happen to be about a meter square, shaped like a flower bulb and coloured grey and white?"
"You've seen it?!" the Third Prince demanded, his face ghostly white..
"I've not only seen it, but I've also opened it as well." Lelouch replied, "Come on in, you two."
Clovis was about to reply but choked on his words once again as he saw a lime-haired girl stroll into the room. She was accompanied by another red-haired female, but his concern about her was miniscule in comparison to the glare that he was getting from his former captive, her expression full of that he had been experimenting on stroll in, glaring at him with an expression full of fury and vitriol.
"Y-You!" Clovis stammered.
"Yes Clovis, it's me," C.C. replied, her voice cold and gaze chilling, "Your brother was kind enough to free me. In exchange I granted the power of what you sought."
Clovis's eyes grew wide as he shot his gaze to his younger half-brother, his eyes widening in fear as Lelouch approached. "Wait, Lelouch…!"
"Answer all of my questions!"
Red-irises soon surrounded Clovis's iresis and he began speaking in a monotone voice, "Sure, go ahead."
"The first thing I want you to tell me are the passwords to the computer terminals here. As well as the override access codes to the Britannian Government information network."
"Sure, no problem." Clovis replied, rattling off a list of passwords and codes, Lelouch imprinting them in his memory. Once Clovis was done speaking Lelouch looked over towards Kallen, "Did you catch all of that?"
"Yes, I did. What do you need me to do?"
Lelouch tossed her a thumb drive. "I want you to take this thumb drive and download all files that relate to a project called Code R, as well as the body cam footage of any Britannian soldiers and knightmares that were active in Shinjuku for the last five hours."
Once Kallen nodded and got to work, Lelouch turned his attention back towards Clovis, pulled out a voice recorder, and pressed record. It was now the time for Clovis to admit to the world what a truly terrible person he was.
"Clovis la Britannia, did you order the liquidation of the Shinjuku ghetto?
"Yes."
"Why did you do this?"
"Because terrorists stole a capsule containing a human female that I was experimenting on in order to unlock the secret of immortality. However, if Father would have found out about it, he would have disinherited me."
"So you admit to participating in human experimentation?"
"Yes."
"Even though it is highly illegal, not to mention unethical?"
"Yes."
"And in order to cover up the fact that you were doing something so horrendous, you ordered the slaughter of everyone in the Shinjuku Ghetto?"
"Yes."
"Do you feel guilty about what you have done?"
"Absolutely not. They are just Elevens. No one will care if they die."
"How about the human experimentation? Do you feel guilty about that?"
"No. Not at all."
With that, Lelouch shut off the voice recording. "Well then, that will be all I needed from you Clovis."
When he said that the red ring disappeared from Clovis's eyes and absolute fear became plastered on his face. "Lelouch! Please don't hurt me!"
Lelouch just smiled at his older brother, "Don't worry Clovis, I have no intention of hurting you."
At this Clovis visibly relaxed, all the current tension leaving his body.
"However," Lelouch continued, his smile turning cruel, "You still need to atone for your sins brother, and therefore cannot be allowed to leave this room alive."
"But you said you wouldn't hurt me!" Clovis said, fear creeping back into his voice.
"Correct, I said that I wouldn't hurt you." He then pointed to C.C., who had a cruel smirk on her face, "I never said anything about her though."
Clovis's face went white at the implication. "Lelouch please! I rather you end my life rather than her! Please! I beg of you!"
"I'm sorry Clovis, but the decision has already been made." Lelouch replied dismissively, "Besides, it's only right that she be the one to carry out her punishment, as you were the one to cause her so much pain."
Lelouch walked over to Kallen, who had just finished up downloading the data required onto the flash drive. "We all good to go Kallen."
"Sure are Lelouch," Kallen replied, looking rather nervously at C.C., who had a look on bloodlust on her face. "Uh, do we have to watch this?"
"Not at all." Lelouch reassured, turning towards C.C., "Well C.C., we'll leave you to it! Oh, one more thing…"
He slid the gun across the floor to the green-haired immortal, "You might need this."
With that both Kallen and Lelouch left the room, allowing C.C. and Clovis time to have some "Personal time" together. Right as they were leaving, Lelouch turned back to Clovis and said one more thing, "Goodbye Clovis, hope you enjoy hell."
With that, the door closed behind them.
He smiled, this was the beginning of his second chance! This time... He would change the world for the better and make sure that no one he cared about would suffer... He would NOT allow that to happen again!
Mr. Indigo here! I hope you enjoyed the revised second chapter of Code Geass: The Past, Present, and Future! I had one hell of a time writing it! Fun fact, halfway through revising this chapter I noticed a rather large plot hole that pretty much destroyed the entire premise of this story. In further exploration and revision I noticed so many inconsistencies and major OOC moments that it would be detrimental to the story to leave the plot the same way as before. Hell, there was some straight plagiarism from fellow fanfiction writer Marcus Finch's story Code Geass: The March of Time.So I bit the bullet, scrapped the chapter and ended up rewriting the entire thing from scratch! I must say I am both proud of myself and proud of how this chapter turned out! Evidently this chapter is literally the most important chapter of the fanfiction, as it sets the building blocks for how this series will function.
I'll take this moment here to explain some things about Kallen. As pointed out in the last chapter, Kallen will be allowed to keep her first name, but that's about it. Her last name was changed to Akaibara, which literally translates to "Red Rose" in Japanese. She will also have an entirely different backstory than from canon. This will be shown in later chapters.
In place of Kallen I have evidently chosen to use two OCs submitted to me by fellow user Republic. These two are Chloe and Becky Fitzgerald. Chloe is the older of the two, being nineteen and Becky being the younger sister at 17. Essentially Chloe has taken over the role of Naoto in this timeline and since she didn't meet the same fate as Naoto, she is in charge of the Shinjuku Resistance cell. So I guess you could consider this a Naoto survives timeline. Becky takes over the role as Kallen in this timeline, however whether or not she should go to Ashford as a student is up to you guys. You can either vote by leaving a review or you can vote using the poll in my profile.
For any of those that are curious about the description of these two ladies, Republic has you covered. This is the description that was sent to me many years ago, with any changes that I decided to make to further improve the characters in parenthesis:
Becky -
Height: 160 cm (5'3")
Hair Color: Dark Blonde (Changed to Brown)
Hair Length: Down to Waist
Eye Color: Blue
Blood Type: B
Zodiac Sign: Cancer
Birthday: July 1st, 2000 A.T.B.
Chloe -
Height: 170 cm (5'7")
Hair Color: Platinum Blonde,
Hair Length: Shoulder Length
Eye Color: Blue (Changed to Green)
Blood Type is: A
Birthday: July 14th 1999 A.T.B.(Changed to July 14th, 1998 A.T.B.)
One major change that I have decided to implement is that neither Becky or Chloe will be considered Knightmare Aces. They will be considered to have about the same proficiency as Lelouch, which is above average. However, their main strength is working together, which will give them about the same if not more power and skill than a knightmare ace. I will have to figure out which type of knightmare they will be piloting, however it definitely won't be a damn Burai. I will also leave that up to guys as to what Knightmare they pilot, whether it be your own design or a design that currently exists in the Code Geass Universe. All I ask is that you keep them reasonable and not completely overpowered. I would like to say thank you to Republic for allowing me to use his OCs. I hope you don't mind the changes I made. Now onto the topic of this story's future.
First of all, I can't believe that it has been five years since I started this story in September of 2014. Originally I had grand plans for this story, to be something great and might almost the Code Geass community, just like Megiddo andThe March of Time. Some other stories such as Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R-eset and
Code Geass: The Prepared Rebellion V2 came out at roughly the same time as my own story and evidently became just as popular as the original inspiration for my story. However, the major difference between my story and theirs is that I got lazy I am ashamed to say that I did not prioritize things correctly and therefore this story suffered from inactivity. For that I apologize profusely.
However, I would like to say that now, with me being in College now, I have a lot more free time on my hands and have been filled with passion for my previous works. I have worked almost non-stop for the last four days finishing the rewrite of posted chapters. With the rewrite now complete I must now turn my attention to the Present and see what I do for the Future of this story.
For all of you returning reader I have to say that this story WILL be finished. I don't know when or how, but it will be. I have created an update schedule for when I will update my fanfiction stories, with each story being given priority in a given month. This will have three benefits. 1) It will keep me from developing writer's block as quickly, 2) It will allow me to give you all consistent story updates contained to a particular month, so you know when a new update is coming and 3) It will allow me to have time for my personal life and schooling. I would also like to announce an ambitious goal to have FOUR OR MORE brand new chapters uploaded yearly, so that you guys don't go long periods without an update.
Finally, the old chapters have been replaced and All comments on them removed. If you submitted an OC I have all your submissions saved in a Google Doc so that way I don't lose them as I might use them in the future. If you would like to comment again on the first or the newly rewritten second chapter you may. The Preparations Chapter has been scraped and deleted as it no longer serves a genuine purpose. Elements of the chapter will be included in the BRAND NEW third chapter which will be coming out someone either later this month or October. That chapter will be the first time in three years that any new material has been added.
Quick Side Note: I have decided to keep the Questions in all future chapters, as I have grown quite fond of hearing your thoughts. With that out of the way it is now QUESTION TIME!
1. Should Becky Attend Ashford Academy? (Yes/No) (This can also be answered in a poll on my profile.)
2. What are your thoughts on my announcement of a new update schedule?
3. Which version of the story did you like better, the old one or the rewritten version?
4. What are your thoughts on the chapter? Remember that Constructive Criticism is always welcome here! :)
Also, the results are in from the revised first chapter! Nunally will be improved upon and not so naive and innocent as in the original canon. Kallen will also get a Geass later on. Also, apparently everyone hates Suzu and gonna be honest, he is kinda a dick so I'll see how this goes later on… the consensus is that he should die though...
Mr Indigo Commands you... Review!
