Hey guys! I hope you enjoy this! I'm sorry it took be awhile to upload this! The website wouldn't let me save and edit the document on doc manger. It was really weird and I kept getting irritated! Thank god I finally got it to work! It's okay if you don't like the chapter, but at this point I'm too tired to care, I start my next semester next week so...yeah...but It's officially the last chapter! Yaaay! By the way, the stuff I say about Stellar involving Thanos, I didn't really do any research on Thanos okay? So don't give me shit for it. I just made it up as I went lol Enjoy!
Oooh child, things will get easiieeer. Oooh child, things will be brighteeerrr.
Peter? What's going on?...was all of this just a dream?
Why am I in so much pain?
Wait...if this was just a crazy dream...does that mean I never met Groot, Gamora, or Drax...or Rocket? Were they all just something I made up?
That ringing in my ears, god damn...that really hurts.
After making an attempt to sit up, I winced from the pain that shot through my entire body and fell back down.
Crap...I broke or bruised some of my ribs...either way, not good...
"Hey...Stellar. Come on, babe. Wake up." Rocket's voice pleaded.
I blinked several times as my vision became more clear and found Rocket hovering over me with a worried expression.
Where am I? Wait...Xandar right? Shit...we're on Xandar...did we fail the mission? But there's no Ronan...so we're okay then?
"Stellar...talk to me, sweetheart." Rocket said worriedly.
I slowly moved to sit up, and remembering what happened to Groot, burst into tears as I hugged Rocket tightly.
"I'm so sorry..." I barely whispered.
I felt my top becoming moist, realizing that Rocket was crying as well as he gladly returned my hug.
"I...I called him an idiot..." Rocket's voice cracked.
At this I pulled back and wiped at my eyes, before pulling Rocket in for another hug.
"He knew you didn't mean anything by it..." I wiped my tears away. "You were his best friend..."
Rocket pulled away eventually, staring at a small twig in his hands sadly. Suddenly, Rocket's ears twitched and his body tensed as he grew more alert. Turning around, we both stared at Ronan, alive and well.
"Ronan!" I gasped in fear.
At seeing Ronan, Rocket blinked away more tears as he glared at Ronan in pure hatred.
"YOU KILLED GROOT!" Rocket screamed.
"ROCKET NO!" I cried.
Rocket ran at Ronan before Ronan simply raised his staff, sending a blast of the stone's energy at Rocket. I was relieved that it wasn't enough power to kill Rocket, but that didn't make it hurt any less. I stood up immediately and ignored the pain shooting throughout my body as I glared at Ronan. At this point, Ronan looked unimpressed and again, sent another blast of energy at me this time. I felt weak, not even bothering to make an attempt to dodge it this time, despite Peter's cries in the distance.
Why does the stone's power feel so familiar? Why?
I felt a course of pure intense energy flow throughout my body as I was flung back a few feet.
"Citizens of Xandar, behold your Guardians of the Galaxy! What fruit have they wrought?!"
The citizens that still remained on Xandar quivered in fear as they stared at Ronan. Ronan moved to slam the staff on the ground, ready to send enough energy to destroy and end all life on Xandar, but was momentarily distracted once hearing faint singing behind him. Ronan slowly lowered his arms, looking confused as he witnessed Peter's dancing and singing along with the faint music from the Milano nearby. How the Milano survived the crash was a mystery, but no one dared to say anything if it meant delaying Ronan for a bit.
"Ooh, child, things are gonna get easiiieeer. Ooh child, things will get brighteeeer. You listen to these words." Peter pointed at Ronan. "Ooh child, things are gonna get easier. Ooh child, things'll get brighteeer. Then bring it down hard! Someday..."
Peter looked fully determined as he broke into dance and song, almost enjoying the look on Ronan's face, but knew this was about saving Xandar.
"What are you doing?" Ronan muttered in confusion.
"Dance-off, bro. Me and you." Peter smirked ."Gamora!"
Peter looked to Gamora to join him, but Gamora quickly shook her head almost frantically as she looked at Peter like he was crazy.
"Subtle, taking it back!" Peter continued dancing.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Rocket quickly moving to fix the hadron enforcer before handing it over to Drax. Drax took aim at Ronan, or more specifically, at his staff to separate the stone from thing that was currently giving Ronan power.
"What are you doing?" Ronan nearly screamed.
"I'm distracting you, you big turd blossom!" Peter smiled smugly
In seconds, a blast from the hadron enforcer shot out and went to the staff, breaking it effectively. I then ran for it as my surroundings seemed to fade out until I was staring at the stone. I could never figure out the lure this stone appeared to have on me, but instinctively yearned to grab it. Deep down though, this was more about stopping Ronan than anything else. I focused sorely on the stone and before Ronan had a chance to react and before Peter was able to do anything else, I had managed to beat him to the stone and grab it. Instantly, everything around me was blown away and I was being consumed by this raw, unadulterated power. I couldn't even scream from the sheer pain and could only feel. My mind was flashing with what appeared to be memories, the lost memories of my past before encountering Peter and Yondu.
FLASH!
"Andromeda. You must leave at once before he returns."
I stared down at my mother's limp and bloodied form and blinked away more tears. Before I was able to argue with her, she lifted her index finger and put it on my lips to silence me.
"You know how powerful Thanos is. He will stop at nothing to get you. You must leave. Please. Go to the crevice near those mountains, he won't find you there."
I nodded frantically as I let out a sob.
"You will be fine, my sweetheart. Andromeda. Look at me and take my hand."
FLASH!
I was brought back to the present when I saw Gamora with her arm outstretched towards me.
"STELLAR! LOOK AT ME AND TAKE MY HAND!" Gamora shouted at me throughout the chaos.
I slowly raised my arm, letting Gamora take ahold of it before the energy coursed through her as well. Peter came at my left side and moved to grab my left hand that had the stone in my palm. It wasn't long before Rocket and Drax had also moved to make contact so we could all share the power of the stone. We stood tall in the midst of everything as Ronan stared at us in what appeared to shock and fear. It was almost ironic since Ronan was a man that claimed to fear no one.
"You're mortal! HOW?" Ronan looked baffled.
Peter glared at Ronan with his now vibrant purple and black colored eyes.
"You said it yourself, bitch. We're the Guardians of the Galaxy." Peter spoke up.
Peter glanced at me from the corner of his eye and nodded at me. Peter helped in opening up my left hand, allowing the stone's power to consume Ronan as well, but with the intention to kill him this time. The power levitated Ronan before completely destroying his very being. It wasn't long before Ronan The Accuser was officially dead. Peter struggled with Gamora, but was able to to contain the stone in another orb similar to the last one before sealing the power off. I felt completely drained as soon as the stone was sealed into the orb and let out a shaky breath I hadn't realized I was holding in.
Holy shit. It's over...it's actually over.
In the distance aside from the relief from the citizens of Xandar were Yondu and two of his members that followed closely behind him. Yondu gave Peter a fixed look, holding out his hand expectantly as he waited for Peter to hand over the orb.
"QUILL!"
Shit...
"A deals a deal, boy. Now hand it over." Yondu smirked.
Gamora glanced over at Peter with a look of desperation, hoping that Peter wouldn't dare give the orb over to Yondu after everything.
Peter's not actually considering this is he?
"Peter you can't!" Gamora pleaded.
"Yondu, you really have to reconsider this. We have to give this to the Nova Core. They can contain it." Peter tried convincing Yondu.
"I may look like an angel, boy...but I sure as hell ain't one. Give it over now..." Yondu warned him.
Peter sighed in defeat and then reluctantly handed the orb to Yondu. Yondu grinned and began walking away with his crew with the orb in hand, but paused once Peter had called out to him again.
"Yondu! Don't open that okay? You've seen what it does to people..." Peter told him.
At this, Yondu nodded and continued on his way while taking Peter's words into consideration.
"I can't believe you just let him take it." Gamora sighed.
Peter smirked as he held out another orb he'd hidden from behind his back.
"Yeah, Yondu's gonna be real pissed when he finds out I swapped out the real orb with a fake." Peter said.
Gamora's eyes widened in surprise before giving Peter an impressed look.
"Well done." Gamora nodded in approval.
I moved over to a piece of debris on shaking legs and leaned against it as I observed everyone. When seeing Rocket in the distance, I held back tears when seeing the state he was in as he held the small twig that was once his best friend. However, before I could consider going over to him, Drax himself sat next to Rocket and pet his hair soothingly, and shockingly enough Rocket had allowed this as he ceased his crying. I blinked as I saw Gamora waving a hand in my face and snapped out of my daze.
"Stellar? Are you alright?" Gamora asked in great concern.
"Huh? What?" My vision began blurring. "I mean I feel fine, just a little dizzy."
"Do you want to sit down? The Nova Core should be here at any moment."
Gamora put her hand on my back gently and led me over to another piece of debris for me to sit on. When pulling her hand away, I noticed it was covered in blood. At this, Gamora's eyes widened as she looked at me in complete worry.
"Peter!" Gamora called for him. "It's Stellar! She's been severely injured!"
When seeing my weakened state, Peter along with Drax and Rocket rushed over to us. Rocket pushed Peter out of the way as he quickly moved to stand on my thighs gripping my face in his smaller hands as he inspected me for anymore injuries before my body was able to slump forward.
"Yer so cute." I smiled faintly.
Rocket ignored the comment with flustered look before his eyes widened when he gazed straight into my eyes.
"Holy shit." Rocket muttered.
The others moved towards me to see what Rocket was looking at, and their eyes widened in shock as well.
"Her eyes are a bright purple." Drax commented.
"It must be an effect from the stone. Peter, we need to get her help immediately!" Gamora shouted worriedly.
At seeing Nova Core soldiers and medics in the distance, Peter walked over in their direction quickly as he waved his arms to gather their attention.
"Hurry! We need help over here!" Peter screamed.
When I woke up, my eyes kept fluttering as my vision started to clear again. I noticed that I was in a bright and white room, and was able to hear people on the outside.
"Ah, Miss Quill. You're awake."
I glanced over at a pink skinned male in suspicion before he quickly explained himself.
"Don't worry, Miss Quill. You're safe. You're at the Nova Core because you received quite a lot of injuries. Rest assured, you'll be just fine." The nurse told me.
At this statement, I relaxed almost immediately before the nurse made to leave the room.
"I'll just go and fetch your friends for you, alright?" He informed me.
My darted out quickly to catch his wrist and prevent him from leaving.
"If it's alright with you, I think I'm ready to leave."
The nurse let out a sigh as he stared at me for a brief minute to consider it, before finally giving in.
"Alright, fine. But only if you sit in a wheelchair." He gave me a stern look.
I nodded in agreement and released him, allowing him to open a small storage unit within the room and taking out a wheelchair.
I was wheeled out by the nurse after receiving a change of clothes, and smiled at the sight of Peter, Drax, Gamora, and Rocket. When all four had spotted me, they grinned and came over to me looking relieved. When a high-status woman approached me, she smiled and held out her hand as she introduced herself.
"You must be Miss Quill. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Nova Prime."
She actually wants to shake my hand? Well this is a nice change of pace. Usually I'm shot at.
"Um, yes. It's nice to meet you as well." I smiled nervously.
"You did us a great service, Miss Quill. You and your companions. I thank you for saving Xandar and ridding us all of Ronan." Nova Prime thanked me.
"Of course. I'm just glad I was able to do something." I spoke truthfully.
It was then that Drax had approached me with a huge smile.
"Stellar! You are alright!" Drax laughed.
Drax moved forward to hug me, but was stopped by Gamora who gave him a fixed look.
"You will only crush her with your brute strength before she recovers." Gamora told him.
Drax sighed sadly, but nodded in agreement which made me concerned.
I would hope he didn't crush me with a hug?
Then, Rocket approached me, carrying a small pot with a familiar twig planted inside of it.
"Hey, sweetheart. How're you feelin'?" Rocket gave me a genuine smile.
I could feel my face heat up as I struggled to speak.
"I feel...I feel fine. Much better." I stammered.
Rocket raised up the potted plant and put it on my lap. It was when I carefully observed it that I began to notice that it was slowly moving on its own.
"Is that- -" I smiled.
"Yup. Sure is. Groot's gonna be back with us soon." Rocket smiled in relief.
That alone made me tear up.
I mostly dozed off during our conversation with Nova Prime, figuring that it was the medication that I was given that was making me so tired. I did however, catch the part of the conversation where Nova Prime explained Peter's origins.
"So wait...I'm not even Terran?!" Peter looked confused.
"No! Your mother was of Earth...but your father...he's something else...something ancient. Something we've never seen before" Nova Prime explained with a smile.
"That might be why you were able to hold the stone with Stellar for as long as you did." Gamora suggested.
"We were also able to find more information about Stellar when we acquired a blood sample when you were processed through the Kyln. It regrets me to say this but...there was a reason our scanners weren't able to find information about you, Miss Quill." Nova Prime's smile faded.
I could sense the tension in the room instantly as eyes were on me, and gripped the arms of the wheelchair tightly as I awaited to hear the news. Nova Prime turned to Corpsman Dey, giving him a nod that told him to explain his findings.
"Well, you come from a planet that was taken over a long time ago by...Thanos. After the planet went down in ruins and was abandoned after the execution of every citizen, there were hardly any records of the inhabitants of the planet or of the planet itself." Corpsman Dey spoke up.
Wait...that's how I remember of the infinity stone's power, because Thanos...he basically destroyed my home planet, made it unsafe to live on...but...Thanos...how do I remember him?
"I remember now. When I held the stone...I was able to remember..." I mumbled softly. "Were you able to find out anything else?"
At this, Peter glanced at me with sadness and reached for my hand to comfort me. Corpsman Dey nodded in response to my question before he continued.
"When we took samples of your DNA...we found something and ran some tests to be certain before we came to our conclusion. We were able to find connections as to who your birth parents were. During his reign, it was known that Thanos did many horrible things to other people...and women when he ruled over planets. It was rumored that he raped women he deemed worthy of carrying his child."
I'm definitely not liking where this is going...
"From what DNA we have of Thanos, we found that your DNA is completely compatible to his...I'm really sorry to say this but...Thanos is your biological father." He finished.
If there was a way to successfully give me a heart attack...that was it.
Again, time felt like it was coming to a stop after hearing those words echo in my head repeatedly. I felt my heart skip a beat, wondering how such a horrible man could be my biological father. I could remember the beaten and bloodied appearance of my mother before she was killed, and wondered if Thanos had done that to her before everyone on my planet was pretty much executed. Whoever Thanos was, he killed my entire race, and I'll never forgive him for that despite that he's my father.
"Miss Quill? Are you okay?" Corpsman Dey asked in a gentle tone.
Peter moved until he was kneeling right in front of me and looked at me with great concern.
"Stellar...hey..."
I didn't know how to react to such news and felt myself frozen on the spot. It wasn't until Peter gently lifted my chin up until I was forced to look at him did I realize that my face was drenched in sweat as tears strolled down my face. At this, Peter blinked away tears of his own before practically pulling me out of the wheelchair and hugging me like his life depended on it. I could tell Peter was just as upset as I was, and that made me finally let out a sob. Peter rubbed my back soothingly, before he pulled away and wiped away his own tears.
"Hey. Look at me Stellar. Thanos may be your biological father, but we know who you are." Peter struggled with his words. "You're my sister. You're Stellar Quill, God damn it." Peter spat out. "Fuck Thanos, he's got nothing on you."
I nodded frantically as more tears spilled out and I grabbed at Peter again, sobbing into his chest. It was the most inspiring thing I'd ever heard from Peter, and it cheered me up as well as filled me up with so much relief that he wasn't treating me any differently. As long as I knew who I was, nothing else mattered in this entire galaxy.
The trip outside was slightly awkward, but I tried my best to keep my head held high and put a smile on my face. I mean, after all, I did help save Xandar.
Why wouldn't I be happy about that?
I smiled at the sight of newly repaired Milano and squeezed Peter's hand in excitement.
"The Milano! But how?" I let out a happy laugh.
"We tried to keep it as close to the original as possible. All of the salvaged parts were thoroughly cleaned and the stuff that didn't survive the crash, we upgraded with something new." Corpsman Dey smiled proudly.
"Oh thank god the ship's clean..." I sighed in relief. "We don't have to be afraid anymore guys!"
At this, Rocket laughed hysterically at my reference to Peter's joke about having a black light. It took me a minute to realize what Peter meant by it at the time, but I found myself grossed out when I figured it out. Either way, it was nice to know that the ship was clean now.
"Oh ha ha...very funny." Peter playfully glared at me. Peter then turned back to Corpsman Dey, giving him a sincere smile. "Listen man...thank you..."
"I have a family...they're alive because of you." He replied. "Your criminal records have been expunged. However, I have to warn you against breaking any laws in the future."
Rocket came over with the newly grown Groot, who was as tiny as could be. Rocket glanced up at Corpsman Dey before asking him something.
"Question." Rocket started. "What if I want something that I want to take and it belongs to someone else?"
"You'll be arrested." Dey answered.
"But what if I want it more than the person who has it?" Rocket feigned innocence.
"Still illegal." Dey told him.
"That doesn't follow, I want it more, sir!"
Gamora shook her head with a smile, and began to wheel me away while also leading Rocket away as well.
"What? I can't have a nice discussion with this gentleman?" Rocket joked.
It was then that Drax approached Corpsman Dey, giving him a question that made him uneasy almost instantly.
"What if someone did something irksome and I decided to remove his spine?" Drax asked.
"That's...that's actually murder. One of the worst crimes there is." Dey answered nervously.
Drax nodded and took it into consideration as he walked away to the Milano as well.
"Look...they'll be fine...I'll keep an eye on them." Peter insisted.
"...you?" Dey raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah me." Peter smiled.
I sat beside Rocket and admired the pot with the tiny Groot. In seconds the tiny little sapling sprouted and began to grow arms, and a very adorable face. As soon as Groot let out a tiny yawn, that alone had managed to put a smile on our faces at finally seeing our friend once again, even if he was tiny at the moment.
"I wonder how long it'll take for him to grow..." I giggled.
"You'll be waitin' a while then..." Rocket replied with a smile.
I looked over at Peter and my smile faded as he stared at a very familiar wrapped gift.
He's finally gonna open it, huh? After all of these years...I'm so happy that it survived the wreckage.
Peter slowly and hesitantly began to unwrap the gift and began to read a letter that came along with it. He stared at the letter with a look of sadness before he no doubt read something that made him smile. It made me wonder what kind of person Peter's mother was, or if she was anything like my birth mother from what little I remembered of her. Peter grabbed his newly attained gift from the tiny box, which happened to be another mixtape his mother had most likely made for him. After walking across the room, he put the cassette into the tape deck before sitting down and taking a deep breath. The song that had started to emit through the ship was a nice melody, and it had a really nice ring to it when I hummed along. I glanced out of the corner of my eye and smiled when seeing that Gamora was swaying along to the music a little, and evidently cheered Peter up knowing how that this cassette tape held some significance to him. Peter smiled back at Gamora before getting up and moving over to the pilot seat and began to turn the controls on before we started to take off.
"So...where to guys? Wanna do a little good? A little bad? A bit of both?" Peter asked us.
"We'll follow your lead...Starlord." Gamora said with a small smile.
"A bit of both." Peter grinned at his nickname.
The Guardians of the Galaxy...it has a nice ring to it, I'll admit.
Alright, well, I don't care if the ending was shitty. I liked it anyway. And don't worry! I'll write more fanfiction involving Stellar and Rocket...those two especially...Thank you guys so much for sticking around! You guys helped me finish this! I know I hated reviews that kept telling me to update the story, but I'll admit that if you hadn't, I might have forgotten about this story...just saying. So thanks guys. I really mean it. I'll write another fanfic soon. I'm in a good mood! And I'll get more specific with Thanos if you want. I mean, I had this plan with Thanos being Stellar's father the entire time, it's okay if you didn't like that part. I enjoyed writing it...Anyway...
WE ARE GROOT!
