Dom: So I kind of thought this would be a short project of mine few years ago, but I guess not HAHAHAHAHA. Okay, so Imma try finish this story of mine so it could be added to the completed stories for Hibari/Kagome. Honestly, I'm kind of excited writing the rest of the chapters because I swear this has more drama than to my other stories.
Also I'm sorry for dropping off the grid again! I'll try to finish this story this summer and if any of you are readers of I don't want to be your nii-san, I'll try to finish Varia arc before I start med-school (if the pandemic minimizes by that time). So at least even if I disappear at least one arc is finish hehehehe. Don't worry I intend to finish that one even if it will take me years TT^TT even if I have no readers in the future I still want to finish my stories because I want them to have a definite end hehehe LOVE YALL AND STAY SAFE!

"What the hell is this?" Hibari glared at the offending item in Kagome's hand.
"It's a ticket to a social mixer," Kagome rolled her eyes as she plopped herself on Hibari's desk. "I want you to come with me."
"No," Hibari declined. "I don't do mixers and I certainly do not do crowds," he growled the last part.
The ravenette rolled her eyes skyward again, asking for any god, any deity, to give her patience for this stupid, stupid boy, "I know you don't do crowds, but I'm asking for a favor."
"And why the hell would I do this for you, Higurashi?" The older teen put down his pen and interlaced his hands together before resting his chin on it, looking at the other raven with a contemplating look as his eyebrow rose in question.
"Then I'll owe you one," Kagome answered immediately. "Isn't that a good deal? Me owing you?"
"Hmmm, that does sound promising," the prefect leaned back on his chair, his arms folding against his torso. "Just one question: why ask me?"
Kagome wrinkled her nose in annoyance as if she was remembering something, "Takeshi was supposed to go with me, but he cancelled last minute when Tsuna asked him to go to the movies."
"Takeshi?" Hibari furrowed his brows. Then he looked at the ticket on his desk, "This mixer is an exclusive thing, isn't it? Like an invitation-only type of thing."
"Yes."
"So both of you got asked by the ones who organized this event?"
"Yes."
"Why?" Hibari sent her an incredulous look.
Kagome smiled, but it was cold as she realized the hidden jab behind his words, "Don't you know, Kyoya-kun? I'm considered beautiful by many people. It's not surprising they want to hook up with me," she batted her eyelashes at him as she cooed saccharinely sweet. "Of course, Takeshi may be a baseball nut, but it doesn't change the fact that he's an attractive specimen."
"Yah, don't call me familiarly," a tic appeared by his temple.
"Whatever," Kagome huffed before bouncing back on her feet. "It's tomorrow at 5 pm. Pick me up at my apartment and we can go together." She waved without turning back before exiting the room.
It was silent for a few moments before Hibari picked up the ticket. "Saaa, does that mean she thinks I'm attractive?" He asked out loud. "Crazy girl," he shook his head before setting aside the ticket in a safe place then going back to work.

"Well, at least you cleaned up nicely," Kagome said as she observed him from head to toe. Then she tilted her head, "Huh, we matched…" she mumbled as she took in both of their outfits.
Hibari was wearing a black, short-sleeved, button up shirt that was unbuttoned, revealing the white fitted long sleeve he was wearing underneath. He had black skinny jeans that were ripped at his knees plus a black leather belt emphasizing his trimmed waist and black sneakers on his feet. He even put a black wrist watch around his left hand.
On the other hand, she was wearing a white, slightly loose, off-the-shoulder crop top, showcasing her slim shoulders and swan-like neck that also has a black choker around it. Underneath her top, she was wearing a sports bra-like top with spaghetti straps. She was also wearing a black, high-waisted fitted skirt and it only teases a bit of her pale skin as her crop top meets the edges of her skirt. White boots with black laces adorn her feet. Her hair wasn't in her usual style as she put it up in a high messy bun with some wavy tendrils framing her face.
Hibari tongued the inside of his check as he realized it as well, "Don't go near me. We might get mistaken as a couple."
"Or siblings."
"God, that might've been worse. I wouldn't want to be related to you," Hibari scrunched his nose in disgust.
Kagome smiled an evil smile before latching on one of his arms, "Aw, but onii-chan, wouldn't we have so much fun together?" She fluttered her lashes at him while pouting cutely.
Hibari fake-gagged and tried pushing her away, "Don't call me that. I got goosebumps."
Kagome giggled, but tightened her grip on him as they started walking towards their destination.
As the two teens made way to the event, they both didn't notice the stares they have been receiving. After all, both were known in their town with their rivalry so it's a bit odd for the locals to see Kagome clinging on Hibari's arm as she chattered away while the other teen, though his expression was uninterested, he was listening attentively.
If they didn't know any better, all those fights and arguments were just purely sexual tension.

The two ravens have been in the mixer for a couple of hours and Hibari was already itching to bite someone. Specifically, the guy that has been talking to Kagome for almost twenty minutes now.
When they first arrived, many were surprised to see him. Obviously, they were expecting Yamamoto Takeshi to be with Kagome, but the shock was easily washed away and they went back to socializing.
Kagome stared at him in askance and Hibari just rolled his eyes, "I'll be fine on my own." He assured her and with those words, Kagome gave him a sweet smile before flouncing away to some of her friends and started chatting with them. It wasn't long before some guys and even some girls started making moves on her.
Of course there were a few that dared approach him and even if he appears to be a brute most of the times, he does know that this isn't the proper place to fight. Plus, Reborn made a new rule within the Guardians that whatever they broke, they will pay. Vongola refuses to pay for any more destroyed properties in the future.
And he's in the top contender for being the most violent and destructive.
Anyway, there were a few that approached him and he did entertain them, but no more than 5 minutes before he went to find some place that he can be alone while he waits for Kagome to finish being a social butterfly. He wasn't interested in having either a relationship or new friendships. The Guardians are enough.
He rolled his eyes in impatience. When will this mixer party end? His social battery has been drained for a while now. He needs to recharge. Scrunching his nose, his eyes landed on the couple once more and then his eyes narrowed when he spotted the slight discomfort in Kagome's face.
Kagome, whose posture was wide and open earlier, was now screaming in uneasiness. She kept shying away from the advances of the guy in front of her.
Pushing off the wall he was leaning on, he made his way over the two. As he neared them, he could hear the snippets of their conversation.
"…no, thank you. It's fine." Kagome told the male.
"But it's dangerous out. Let me walk you home," the guy insisted. "We can even have dinner on the way."
"No, really. It's fine. I came with someone and they're already walking me home," Kagome rebuffed the offer as she made a small step back.
The guy tried to close the distance once more when Hibari arrived and then wrapped an arm around Kagome's waist.
"Hey," he nosed the girl's temple in greeting. He could feel Kagome stiffening at the contact and action and he squeezed her waist warningly.
"Hey, man, do you mind?" Hibari heard the male sneered and he almost scoffed. Why can't idiots like him take a hint?
"Actually, I do mind you harassing my girlfriend," he gave him a sarcastic smile. He doesn't recognize the guy so he reckons that he's probably a visitor from another town that was given the chance to attend this event because he knows someone. He doesn't recognize him; ergo he can't pick up his lie.
The prefect almost laughed when Kagome swallowed back a choke at his lie and his grin widened when he saw the irritation pasted on the other male's face.
"Girlfriend?" The unknown male spat out. "If she's your girlfriend, why do you let her bounced around like a flirt? Why did you both attend knowing this is a mixer? Or are you that kind of couple?"
"Excuse me?" Hibari took a threatening step towards the male, his glare tightened even more when he noticed Kagome flinched at the accusation of being a flirt. "Yes, she's my girlfriend, but it doesn't mean I have to suffocate and chain her. I trust my girlfriend and she trusts me. And to answer your question, no, we're not that kind of couple, but it doesn't hurt to socialize with other people without any malicious intent, does it?" he almost snarled. "Come on, Kagome." He released his hold around her waist only to take her hand before dragging her away.
He went straight to the exit and left the party and all the while, Kagome was silent.
When they were a good distance from the building, Kagome broke the silence, "…thank you, Hibari."
The taller raven paused in his steps and faced her. He arched a brow when he only saw the bowed head of his rival. Releasing her hand, he scratched the nape of his neck awkwardly, "You were uncomfortable. You would do the same if I was in the same position."
"I guess so…" she mumbled back. She raised her head and gave him a small smile, "Thank you, still. I guess I owe you two favors now."
Hibari cleared his throat and averted his eyes when he saw the smile. His metallic grey eyes landed on a familiar shop, "Why don't you treat me dinner and you'll only owe me one?"
Kagome rolled her eyes. He's so awkward when people are being sincerely grateful. Cute.
"Come on then," she offered her hand to him, fingers wiggling expectantly. "Boyfriend," she added teasingly.
Hibari stared at the hand for a moment before accepting the hand. Kagome laughed at him and interlaced their fingers together before dragging him to cross the street with Hibari shouting at her for disobeying the traffic rules and Kagome retorting that it was practically deserted, no one would know.
And if Hibari gave his egg yolk from his order of ramen to Kagome unprompted with the latter giving her egg whites in exchange, no one would know too.
And if Kagome kissed him on the cheek as thanks for saving her, for the egg yolk, for walking her home, no one would know either.
(He never got to cashed in his favor either.)
