Chapter 7

Sounds of explosion deafening to the ears rang through the whole courtyard, dirt flying everywhere, pharrell's latest song came through Yato's phone - good song btw and also the screams of a students and teachers alike.

"Holy hells, look at de size of dat ting" the god of war proclaimed, 'Now that I think about it why would I wanna raise a flag with something like that, I mean think of the cost of making a gigantic home for it'

"Yato, weren't you running towards it last chapter" a pink-haired girl shot up behind him, the stature of her was not so much of how one would call a teenager but rather a rather delicate porcelain doll.

"Nah doing so would probably ended with me getting smashed to piece, unlike a certain p-~burp~protagonist they had a plot armor which conveniently saved him from a LOT of deaths even though he was dead once and he was like he at the moment I quote "go now m'lady I need some more kills to level so you must go now" and unfortunately which I don't have at the moment" he ranted.

Louise thought about what Yato had said and particularly about the m'lady part. 'Did Yato thought about her as his m'lady? And if so, would he go for a lot of length to save her?' she cupped her hand towards her cheek, overjoyed at the notion of being called a mistress to someone she admired for a while now.

"I think that's enough dialogue, don't you think author-san? We gotta move the story now else you'll just end up playing a game instead of finishing this" the red-headed god said to no one in particular.

At that moment the wall of the academy shook. The result of the repeated blows from the colossal creature lumbering above the courtyard. Seeing as the walls was now broken, the figure standing atop of it leap through the cracks and landed graciously, in his mind a group of three people put up a paper with 10s on it and he snicker at the thought.

However his objective here was not just receive mental 10s but also a certain weapon that rumored to have the destruction capacity capable to inflict serious damage to a city - which was an exaggeration by the way.

Eyeing a particular staff on top of a pedestal, he thought to itself 'is this it? Seems a bit dull for a weapon to have a power capable of destroying cities'. Taking it from the pedestal, he put the staff inside it's bag that was slouched from his back.

Having accomplished hiss duty, he leaped through the cracks of the wall and landed on the creature's head, taking a readying stance and then proceeds to gesture the creature to move towards the forest, where the creature gradually shrink in size and finally it went out of sights.

"Huh in just three paragraph we did nothing to stop the creature and now we're gonna have to find it" a boy said to his companion at that moment. Which was currently fidgeting at the thought of being called m'lady.

Finally gaining a bit of composure the pink-haired mage finally straightened herself up and got rid off any impure thoughts in her heads.

"Well why didn't you do anything anyway Yato? I figured you would've tried to stop it or at least try to" she said timidly.

"Well it would've been pointless at this time because we'd be just doing the same thing the other time lines had done, I'd rather just ya'know watch it do it's business and we reserve our energy for later actions"

Confused by the the answer given by her familliar, she tried to comprehend the meaning of his particular word 'timelines', she hadn't heard about it before and hearing from the boy himself who proclaim to be a god of war himself it was much more believable than having a random person said it.

"What's a timeline?" she asked, her gaze looked upon the horizon of which the creature had gone, the trail of the creature laid hazard to the land where it once stood.

"Well sweetie, a timeline is a graphic presentation of the passage of time as a line" seeing the confused look at Louise face he again continued that what he just said was a dictionary description of a timeline.

"I will explain to you some more some other time later, for we are to about to be interrupted by an a acquaintance of mine" the boy stated, and sure enough came along a certain blue-haired bespectacled girl and with her a busty red haired maiden treading along after her.

"Hail friend" the blue-haired girl said to him. Her hair glistening with sweat that made her hair stick to her forehead, no doubt she was running before and towards here after hearing the deafening sound of stone being smashed against.

"Have you news of what happened here?" her facial unchanged as if she was accustomed to these type of things happening once.

"A giant! Tall as a tower, lumbering above us had destroyed on of the wall of the academy's, if I recall correctly that would've been the place where the vaults for magical antiques was stored!" exclaimed the boy in red.

He knew that a change of writing must mean either the author had possibly played a tremendous amount of time playing a certain role playing game of which had the protagonist fights of the world eater or he had just finished watching some more medieval critical acclaimed television series about houses.

"Well, had I arrived earlier than later I would've been able to stop it" a blonde fop behind them answered. " I saw it with my own two eyes, a figure was atop of the giant! It has to be the master of that creature else it would've not do such a thing!"

The blue-haired girl namely Tabitha and her companion Kirche can do nothing but stare in disbelief at what had just happen, both knew that for something that big to be conjured a magic power of at least a triangle line would've been needed, in other words their invader was someone more powerful than most of the students here.

*Scene Break*

"What the hell is a scene break anyway?" the redheaded boy exclaimed in anger, heads turn sideways to see the sources of the voice but they then quickly turn their attentions forward towards the headmaster for they had no need to anger the god that the pink-haired mage had summoned.

Furrowing his brows the self-proclaimed god thought to himself as he put his hands to his chin, his bloodshot eyes scanning the whole people in front of him.

To elaborate, after their encounters with the giant earth golem, they were asked by some of the of the teacher to come to the place in front of the vault room as they would have some sort of clue regarding the break-ins.

Yato then knew that this would be his only chance to find the figure on top of the golem earlier. Grinning like a madman he props himself to a nearby wall, arms crossed and brandishing a certain hat.

Louise saw him doing that and knew that asking him would be pointless, since the last few paragraph he had been acting weird for awhile now, she ponders the situation at hand and wonder what sort of question would be asked of her. Besides her was the duo that was also somehow copying Yato, propping themselves.

Suddenly the headmaster spoke in a low hoarse voice, "Please be quiet"

"This recent event had put us into a perilous situation, we are regarded among as of one of the safest place in Tristain, and we had just been breached by an invader"

"This invader had not only destroyed the wall of the vault but also stole one of the magical artifacts"

Yato raised a brow at this since he didn't saw the figure stole something, what he only knew was that he had the intuition that the the thief was a woman, ' I mean one would assume that once they saw that voluptuous mountain on her chest was indeed a woman'

Nevertheless he grew wary for the situation at hand since he has a chance to chase after the thief and further root his achievement in this world. But before he could speak up a certain voice raised among them.

"Headmaster may I?" the voice asked. The headmaster only looked towards the owner of the voice for a moment before nodding sagely.

"The thief who stole it was Foquet" she said adamantly, the voice being owned by none other than miss Loungville, "I was following him after he went to the forest, he was headed just north east of the academy, I stopped following him once his trail had gone cold" she finished briskly.

"How did you knew that it was Foquet, miss Loungville?" the Headmaster asked, his expression turned grim as he look towards his secretary.

"He had his name etched into the vault wall, it was good that he targeted the academy instead of the crown, had he done that we could be very tarnished of our reputation" she replied coolly.

Silence fell upon the room, no one dared to voice their opinions on the matter as this was the teacher's fault as well for not having one people posted outside of the vault room. The assigned person to guard the vault was actually sleeping in her room during at the time of the attack, had she been there to stop the thief the story might of come out much different that the current one.

Yet fate had decided that she treated herself to some biscuits and tea to cheer her up that morning, seeing as she was about to sit there hours into the night she sees no reason not to indulge herself in some sweet guilty pleasure of life, not that kind mind you but the pleasures of food. But now that she had realized that the tea she drank had made her drowsy she would be now be held accountable for these mistakes.

No one pointed at her though, which relieves her since she would not have it if she was suddenly at the attention of people for she had a timid nature and small figure which made her even more easily intimidated by others.

"Headmaster Osmon!" another voice yelled from behind the flock of teachers, her hair swirled with pride behind her as she walked forward, face straight without a hint of hesitation.

"i would like to volunteer to catch the thief" she said, her voice rang through with a confidence of a warrior.

This catch Old Osmon by surprise, he knew that the girl had a certain bravery inside of her yet it didn't occurred to him that she would be this brave. 'Sending a student to catch a thief, the thought hadn't even come into my mind!'

With a husk voice he straightened his back and said, "I cannot let you do that miss Valiere, it is far too dangerous to send of the students to apprehend the thief, were it be the royal guards I would let them as they had more experience in these type of matters!"

"Help will come later than expected if we expect the royal guards to help us, we can still likely catch the thief In time than the the royal guards" she pleaded with an earnest voice.

Osmon had not the heart to reject a young woman plead, he ought to have spend his day with Rin-chan rather than dealing with this matter as more time passes the more points would be gone. Osmon knew that if this matter was dealt swiftly he would have the chance to go on a date RIn-chan the sooner this is done.

Sighing he took his staff that was propped earlier to the wall, he then said, "Very well, miss Valiere I shall grant you the permission to apprehend the thief Foquet, but! On the condition that you will prioritize your safety above all else" knowing that full well that the inexperienced mage will was about to be accompanied by a god he had actually no qualms about it whatsoever.

Yato just watched the ordeal unfold by itself, he stands there without a hint of emotion in face, for he was actually just awestruck by Louise's bravery and her beauty just by declaring what she had just said.

At that moment he want nothing more than just hug his adorable little master and smother her with kisses, but by doing that he would undeniably closes off a lot of route by doing that.

The pink-haired mage's glances towards Yato and she flashes the smile that grabbed the very being of Yato, as if invisible hands had just grip his heart he gasped for air. 'I didn't tell anybody about a certain return, why grab my heart!?' he thought disdainfully.

"I shall accompany miss Valiere"

"As shall I"

Two voice sound out behind him, the bespectacled girl and the dark-skinned girl respectively. Both had their right hand curled into a fist and bumped against their chest while their left hand curled behind their backs.

Normally Yato would've devote his heart right there and then since he had his heart already been grabbed by his master, but he had more important matters at hand. He held up his hand and voice his pledge right there and then.

"I shall protect miss Valiere with all my might, any enemy that would do her harm will lay dead on my feet!"

Louise blushed at this prospect but for others - beads of sweat roll down their face as they knew that the god was not lying at all, they had seen his prowess after all during the familliar talent show, not to mention having build a building just overnight.

In reality he had asked his 'guildmate' to put their efforts in building the guild hall, he knew that they would agree knowing that if they had the place to boast all their glory and having their desires unfold in where they would not be disturbed.

Some was skeptical in having glory by having a familliar as the headmaster, often they asked the bronze if their leader had to be the zero's familliar, this resulted in the blonde fop lash out in anger for questioning their own loyalty.

The scepticism end quickly as it was brought up as the only proof they need was provided to them, the moment the red-haired god raided count Mott manse. They sang songs of his actions, freeing countless slaves (confirmation needed) and unseating a corrupt official from his seat.

The teacher who had gathered there applauded for their actions and their self sacrificing attitude, they were not simply just glad that someone else had to capture the dangerous thieves - the founders forbid for if they had the even slightest thought impure as that, the god in red would punish them.

*Scene Break*

A little sigh escaped through the red-haired man, himself seated beside his petite master on the wagon carting them through the forest. It bobbed up and down unsteadily for their road was uneven and unleveled.

The pinkette was rather happy beside her familliar, the thought of honor compels her to retrieve the lost magical artifact and also the chance to further root her claims that she was no longer a zero.

Yato thought of riding a horse himself but the the green-haired teacher told him otherwise, seeing as that she needed to keep them close and not scattered - she was a teacher after all, taking concerns of the students in the academy's where she worked at was the first thing she needed to think of.

While this come of suspicious to him, he didn't question further her choices. Four horses would be enough to get the five of them through the forest - with him seated with his lovely master he thought.

'Ah well, at the very least I can put my arms around my master this way' he thought quietly. Across him was the the bespectacled girl that unbeknownst to him glaring at the prospect that he was being lovey-dovey and beside her was the fiery mage that was constantly fidgeting in her seat.

"So..any idea how much longer we would encounter the thief?" Louise asked to her teacher, herself looking smaller beside her familliar.

Her teacher cast a side way glances before returning her gazes back towards the road, she knew that reining the horses would still take some sort of concentration.

"Seeing as we had past the trail where her trail had gone cold earlier, I would concluded we will sooner or later run into her" she paused to rein the horses to avoid a pothole on the road "Seeing as conjuring something as big as the academy tower itself would still require quite considerable willpower and therefore would need to rest herself up"

"Even if she did rest herself, would she not try to at least keep herself hidden?"

"If she did somehow hidden herself, she wouldn't hide herself here" pausing as the cart had just run over a pothole "The staff of destruction is far too dangerous and far too precious to let it expose out in the open"

"Say isn't your element earth?" Yato interjected.

The question seemed to caught miss foq- ehem miss Loungville off guard. "Were it so, how does that fit into this discussion?" she asked, not intending to had let her voice sound more tense ."I cant even fathom why would my element had any reason even related to these prior conversation"

"Geez, I was only asking out of curiosity" he said sighing " You do not need to be so gung-ho about it, its not as if you are actually the culprit itself" he continued.

Miss Loungeville gulped at that last sentences of his, she knew that the familliar was a sharp one (not his appearance) but to blurt out that information like it was nothing was something else.

She turn her head around quickly only to find that the red-haired god gave out a menacing grin at her, she eeped at the sight of him and quickly fixed her gaze back towards the road.

'He knew, he definitely knew about me!' her thoughts gone awry the moment she set her eyes on that menacing grin 'A grin of that caliber can only be the work of a stand user!'

"Yo teach" Yato began "How did you know that Foquet was a she?"

"I-I don't think that I recalled mentioning the thief was a woman" she stammered out.

Both Louise and Kirche suddenly had their eyes fixed on the back of their teacher, their brows knitted into the one of confusion. Tabitha had only so much of spare a glance to her teacher, for she had more important matters to fixed her gazes at - the boy in red!

She never did recall when did she called the thief a woman and it finally dawned on her, it was during their last conversation. She gasp internally of how she was found out on a just from that brief conversation.

"Oh really, then how did you knew that the staff the thief stole was the staff of destruction?" he asked again.

Now this caught Tabitha's attention, it did seemed quite suspicious of how she knew about that.

"Old Osmond never told me that it was a staff of destruction, he only told me that I could probably tell it was a magical artifact due to me being a god and all"

'That was a lie though' he thought. Not that he would reveal that.

Miss loungville was silent, her body stood still even when the wagon was bobbing up and down uncomfortably. Her mind was filled to the brim with unnecessary thoughts.

"To think I would be discovered like this.. Such a shame!"

She jumped out, brandishing her wand and pointed it at the ground. She knew that she could do this, she'll just escape through the woods and get to the abandoned house, where she conveniently hid away the staff.

But before she could do that though, a shrilling sound of whistling was heard. Her wand was swatted away from her grip and it fell to other side of wagon.

Her emotions was now shown on her face, her face twisted to that of horror - knowing that just by a whistle the god had just used the magic of the firstborn. Granted that it was mostly unknown but it was a wandless magic, how absurd is that!?

Unknown to her it was just a one of Yato's guild member hiding in the trees waiting for his signal, their convictions being driven just to gain glory.

Yato grinned like a madman as he jumped out of the wagon, his body shook with excitement seeing as the perperator herself had fall to his trap. 'Ah how blissful to think I pulled an action like that, its as if I'm in a ludicrous crappy light novel!'

"M-monster!" she shriek

She tried to stand up and make a run for it but the red haired man had just pounced on her. She screams as she watched the horror put himself on top of her. Seemingly knowing all of her fear.

The trio that was still on the wagon quickly jumped out of it and went towards her, looks of disbelief on their face except of Tabitha who was blushing seeing the position of the red-haired god and her teacher.

"Miss Loungville!? you were the thief?" Louise gasped.

"O-of course I am! If it wasn't for this meddling god, I would've gotten away with this scheme of mine" she exasperated.

"Heh" Yato spatted out. "You can only go so far with your flimsy disguise! My title as the true ultimate detective will reveal any mystery, be it any random murder or crimes!"
