This chapter is pure fluff and its probably my favorite I just really like showing the softness Beth brings out of Daryl! Anyways I will probably post the next chapter tomorrow or Saturday and dont worry things will get steamy again, promise! A HUGE thank you to all the people who read, review, favorite and follow this story it means the world to me and Im just happy that we all get to revel in Beth and Daryl cuteness! Enjoy :)

Daryl wasn't sure how long they were running for but his lungs were on fire and every muscle in his body was screaming, begging for him to stop but every instinct in his bones said just a little farther just a a few more strides. Every other second his head would whip back behind him to make sure Beth was on his heels and every time he looked back she was always there staring at his back pumping her legs and breathing in shallow breaths. It wasn't until he got a cramp in his foot that he fell to the ground and like a shadow Beth falls right next to him, following his every move. They both lay there staring into the bright Georgia sky, gasping for air. In a second everything was lost and now it was just him and Beth and both knew that Daryl would do anything to make sure she was safe. Climbing onto his elbows he looked over at his light, the only person that mattered and they stayed there looking back at each other making a silent pact that even if they never saw their family again they would have each other and in a world like this it was more than enough.

"You ready to get goin?"

Simply nodding her head the pair set a steady pace through the woods, getting as far as they could from the prison, never looking back but always going forward. When night hit Daryl was able to scrounge up enough wood to make a small fire and for the first time that day he was able to wrap his hands around Beth letting her silent tears fall onto his arms. Soon she had cried herself to sleep and Daryl put out the fire taking the watch for the night, he knew it would be smart to wake her up half way through the night so he could get some sleep but smarts didn't matter she came first. When it was dawn Daryl shook the young blonde awake both strapping what was left of camp on their backs and then with soft steps they moved deeper into the woods. Daryl racked his brain for something to say some kind of condolence that would ease her pain but Daryl was never good with words and he figured anything he said would just be noise, it wouldn't help and it wouldn't change anything, just unnecessary sound. So instead he tracked on looking behind him very few minutes just to make sure she was still there and every time he did she would be starting at his back, trusting him to lead the way. It wasn't until sunset that they came across an old house, if you could even call it that, it was mostly a dumb like the one he grew up in. The walls were chipped, the porch was filled with splinters, and the inside was cluttered with stupid shit that only a redneck would have. After clearing the little shack of walkers Daryl got to work boarding up the doors figuring this place was as good as any for them to catch their breath, while he was securing the inside and out, Beth was busy scrounging through the cabinets trying to find any scraps of food she could come by, luckily she was able to find a couple of cans of beans and some sardines. It wasn't the best but they would eat it like it was a five star meal. Once everything was safe Daryl decided to grab a seat on the ripped lazy boy, taking a moment to close his eyes and appreciate the feeling of a cushion beneath his back, he must have drifted off for a while because when he lifted his lids the only light he could see light was the light coming off the stars and he could hear the familiar sound of Beth's soft hums. Following the sound he made his way over to the front porch where she was sitting on the first step staring up to the stars.

"You shoulda woke me, don't want you out here alone."

"I can take care of myself" she said after giving him a little half smile.

"Yea I know you can."

Shaking his head a bit he dropped down next to her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders and like clock work Beth leaned into his side, letting out a deep sigh.

"I love you."

Daryl froze for some reason he never expect this part, he knew he loved Beth, knew it with every bone in his body but he never expect for her to feel the same, much less for her to say it. She was too good to love an asshole like him.

"You don't have to say it back I know you love me too. I just wanted you to hear it, to know that I love you."

He wanted to push her away and pull her in closer all at the same time. He wanted to get up and walk away and he never wanted leave. Daryl was at a choice he could shut down right here right now or he be better.

Leaning into her ear he rolled the words around his tongue before he spoke to her in a tone no louder than a whisper "I love you too."

Giving him the best Beth Greene smile she leaned up and pecked him on the lips, not as passionate as their usual trysts but just as powerful. Soaking in the quiet around them they sat their content with each other in a time of grieving, content in the fact that they had each other. Daryl wasn't sure how long they sat there just in each others arm neither eager to move both just staring at the stars and staring at each other. Tomorrow they would have pack up and move on but tonight they could just watch the stars and that was all that mattered.
