Wisps of the Flame
"The sky that we saw that day was a staining, bloody, crimson red,
Will you remember it all someday in the near future?
Embracing the promise,
That we could not fulfill,
The two of us set out hand in hand."
"Uso"—SID
"Remember way back when, you and I would sit atop the clock tower and watch the sunset? We'd have some sea salt ice cream, and the sight, my god, it'd be beautiful. I don't think I've ever enjoyed watching a sun go down as much as I did with you."
"Bet you don't know why the sun sets red. You see, light is made up of lots of colors. And out of all those colors, red is the one that travels the farthest."
"Oh, and then, we trashed that one party Demyx was holding. My god, was he mad. I'd never seen—or even heard him spit the words he did. Thank god you were there to calm him down, though. I get that we embarrassed him and what not, but seriously, the guy had it fucking coming."
"Dem, calm down, please. Look, we're sorry, okay? We didn't mean to do that. Dem—Dem, look at me. I'm sorry. Okay? Forgive us?"
"You burned Marly's flowers some other day. I swear he almost punched you in the face. And he's not usually one for violence. I thought he was going to hate you forever. Never knew he was so attached to those damn plants."
"They're fucking flowers, Marluxia. They'll grow back. You'll plant some more and they'll be all new again. Just shut the fuck up, already."
"You're the one that created Xemnas' nickname. Mansex, right? Jesus Christ you wouldn't let that off for months. At least, until Saix punched you. You walked around with a black eye for days after that."
"Hey! Mansex! What's up—Saix, what the fuck—what are you doing? …ow! That fucking hurt, asshole!"
"There's so much that I could remember, but Sora's getting pissed at me since I'm taking my time. Don't worry, though. Sora missed you too. He knows how much you meant to me…remember when you'd tell me you love me?"
"I love you, Roxas."
"I do too. So much. So fucking much, Axel. I miss you too. I hope you get to make all the flames you want up wherever you are."
"Roxas," Demyx called, walking up to the twins with Zexion at his side. Sora turned to him. "Are you okay? Ready to head home?"
The blond smiled softly, patting the gravestone in front of him lightly. "Just saying goodbye, again, Dem. I'm okay."
Sora wrapped an arm around his brother and began the walk back to the car.
Yes, sadness is my fucking ballpark and I am the pitcher. Fuck me, I know. I excel too greatly in the tragedy genre.
